Stayed for three nights also had three evening meals and can honestly say what a lovely experience The room was very comfortable and the food was excellent also the staff very friendly and helpful

Again the Boathouse has ticked all the boxes for lovely setting, great food, welcoming staff and comfortable rooms. We were here to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and were welcomed as old friends by Sally and Kim, who joined in our celebration with humour and great service. Our first visit to the Boathouse was for our granddaughter’s wedding, and come back as often as we can.

Beautiful venue, super efficient and friendly staff, best Sunday roast ever! Had the roast beef, which was thickly sliced and tender. Perfectly cooked to my taste (just slightly pink). Generous helping of beautifully cooked vegetables - carrots that actually tasted like carrots! The whole meal was perfect.

Great place to eat. Food and drinks very good. Service great. Atmosphere very welcoming. We have been before and will go again when next in the area.

Fabulous, cannot fault this restaurant. Food and service was excellent and we will definitely return again. Our friends who live far away said if they lived locally they would visit at least every month for a meal. Well done to all the staff who made our visit very welcoming.

The Boathouse is a beautiful restaurant to eat in lovely surroundings. The moment you walk in staff are happy to greet you . It was full capacity on Sunday afternoon. The staff are so attentive and polite . The Sunday roast was delicious and plenty of selection for a roast on the plate and a good price too , plenty of choice for the menu to choose from . Highly recommend the boathouse definitely will become a regular there . Well done to all the staff couldn’t do enough for you

Family of 10 today for Sunday Roast superb roast one of the best all fresh homemade plentiful. First class service from the staff so friendly and helpful couldn’t do enough. Very busy recommend booking. Hot and delicious good selection of veg although red cabbage was left by some of us not nice and also mixed in with peas so they were left too. Beautiful sweets the Boathouse Saundae was lovely but really hard (rocky road) at bottom. Great location by the river outside tables available and plenty of parking. Would definitely visit again

Just to say cannot fault from the decor, food, cleanliness ( and that inc toilets ...spotless ) and amazing staff that regardless how busy they were .... and believe me they were continuously busy .... we were not rushed just so able to be relaxed and enjoy. So well done and cannot wait to go back.

Whether can I say. On arrival we were greeting by the manager who was very attentive . Absolutely all of the staff were 100% perfect . Excellent service indeed . Amazing setting and even more amazing food. The staff were warm, friendly and attentive. Restaurant was extremely well set out, clean and the seats were comfortable. The food was served hot and fresh and everyone enjoyed their meals. Quality of food was excellent and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a good nutritious meal. Will definitely return when we are next in the area.

Not only did we have a lovely evening meal here, we also stayed in one of the rooms, and had breakfast. The evening menu was extensive, and the food was great quality and freshly cooked. Same for breakfast....wide choice of cooked or cold options. The room was lovely, with a good sized modern bathroom, and an amazing view over the broads. Staff were very friendly and efficient, even during a very busy evening. A great experience, from the warm welcome on arrival, to the moment we left after a hearty breakfast. Definitely somewhere we will look to re-visit.

Such a lovely venue by the water. Food was beautiful thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The occasional blast of cold air when one of the doors were opened and on occasion left open by patrons was slightly off putting but the overall dining experience was really good

We had a 2 night stay here and can thoroughly recommend it if you are looking for a quiet chilled break away. The owner and staff were very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was stylish and very comfortable with a lovely view over the Broad. It was very peaceful at night which ensured a good night’s sleep. Breakfast menu was varied, cooked to order and was excellent value. The dinner menu offered lots of choice and the food was excellent with large portions. There was the option for smaller portions too. All in all an excellent place to stay offering great value for money and excellent customer service.

we were recommended this restaurant by our rental cottage in Winterton. The location is stunning. Staff very welcoming. Food was amazing. Sadly too full to go for a walk after so would recommend if walking do it before. I had the slate which was beautiful. Husband and sister in law had lamb shank which was really tender. We had a lovely experience and would 100% come back again You often find that big events, like mother’s day, can be a bit chaotic and not always in the most of relaxing atmospheres. This was a very different positive experience. This was felt immediately on arrival. As soon as we arrived , we were greeted in the car park and shown a suitable car park slot - very organised. We were greeted by the owner, Mike and shown to our seat. Quickly followed by a friendly waitress to take out drinks orders and showed a genuine interest in the family. We were given plenty of time to look through the menu - but once we had chosen, we really didn’t have to wait long for the food to arrive . Portions were great, presentation was lovely and quality was amazing. Whilst the tables were ‘full’, you didn’t have to wait long for any service , food or additional drinks - it was a very relaxed afternoon - we also didn’t feel like we outstayed our welcome, enjoying a coffee and wonder around the lovely place before we left. It was a great deal, with mains and a dessert for £24.95 for a set mother day menu. Would 100% come back , for a special occasion or just a lovely meal. Well looked after, great food, scenic beautiful location, friendly and smiling staff - what more could you want?

I almost don’t want to share this fabulous hotel. The staff can’t do enough for you. Nothing is too much trouble. They are all so friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in was to a high standard with a view of the broads. The restaurant overlooks it and the broads has different moods depending on the time of day. The restaurant has a very calming restful effect. The food is excellent, every meal is so well presented and tastes delicious. This is a very popular restaurant and hotel so make sure you book in advance to secure a room/table. We will come back here and that is something we don’t often do.

Four of us have just enjoyed a two night break here, courtesy of a Travelzoo deal. What can I say? So very friendly and such a beautiful setting. We arrived on Sunday afternoon and found the place packed, I soon found out why. We stayed in rooms two and four, both were beautiful. Our first evening was spent in the restaurant which is where we found out why the place was heaving. The Sunday roasts were plate fulls which tasted lovely. The sea bass was superb. After dinner we asked if they had a couple of chairs we could take to the room so we could play cards, the answer was, the suite is free, feel free to use that. Fantastic customer service. We ate out on the Monday as the restaurant is closed, when we came back we were given the suite again. Cannot speak too highly of the boathouse.

It’s been a few months since my last review and let me tell you it’s just got better! The last couple of weeks we have gone for Sunday dinner, it just gets better every time we have one. The first thing I try is always the roast potatoes- my god the crunch was just the best! I like that there is other things on the menu too on a Sunday, so the children could have something else. Thank you Mike once again for fitting us In at last minute and always looking after us, also a very big thank you to Donna for looking after us yesterday nothing is ever to much trouble! I’m sure we will be back soon.

We hadn't been here for many years - it was the Eel's Foot then! The very friendly staff made us feel very welcome, and the interior is well done and spacious. However, whilst the food was very good, the service was a little slow, but I am guessing it was due to a wedding in the function room, another large table, and being busier than perhaps they expected. The food was worth the wait and the staff were good, so it was only the wait before taking orders and delivery that let it down, but only slightly as everything else made up for it.

Once again, The Boathouse did us proud for providing such a lovely spread of food. Our late Mum, Mary, would have been so impressed. Thank you to Michael and team for everything you did.

Super on every level. The sea bass was wonderfully tasty... clearly fresh. The triple chocolate heart was impressive. This is a very very talented chef. Highly recommend. My wife and I took our very good friend out to Lunch . We had Main Meals and Deserts . The Food and Service was very good . We wanted to raise a glass to her husband whose Birthday was on the 10th Feb and he liked visiting The Boathouse .

We were staying nearby on a winter break and decided to book The Boathouse for our Sunday lunch. What a great choice we made. Lovely warm welcome on a cold, blustery January day. Brilliant service and great food. We both had a roast dinner and it was well cooked and really plentiful/tasteful. Would love to come again if we are ever in the area.

This venue is in a beautiful spot and you can see the broad from the windows of the dining room. We stayed for two nights and the staff could not have been more helpful. We would definitely recommend it if you are looking for a quiet place to relax.

Dreadfully long wait for food almost an hour. Food ok but a bit pricey for veg option. Missed coffee and mincepie due to slow service and having be away after 2hrs. Not the first time service has been slow.

Wow ! This place is definately a 10/10 . We had a lovely meal here on Saturday night and enjoyed it so much we immediately booked for Sunday evening too . From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave the service from all members of staff is exceptional . Great food , fantastic service , beautiful surroundings , highly recommend !

Not a great start, waited 20 minutes before we were served - really busy lunchtime but no excuse if you have pre-booked a table. Young girls that were waiting on tables didn’t acknowledge us. As we got up to walk out the manager ( mature gentleman) noticed and we explained why we were leaving - he sincerely apologised. We sat back down and we’re then immediately asked what we would like to drink and we’re given menus. The lady who bought the drinks said they were complimentary due to the wait. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. Beautiful setting, gorgeous food shame to have poor service - I hope this is rectified.

what a fabulous place, with an overnight stay in a superb chalet (pigeon hole) and an absolutely wonderful evening meal with 18 friends. a truly memorable day. without a word of a lie it was the best food we have had whilst away from home. The service was excellent. Breakfast was equally good, none of this self service stuff, you order exactly what you want and lo & behold it arrives as ordered perfectly cooked & presented. fifteen out of ten in every aspect.

We attended for our granddaughter’s wedding, lovely venue, amazing staff, great food, wonderfully organised, just a beautiful day all round, finished off by family breakfast on following morning. Thank you to the cleaners who made up our room for us as we arrived too early for checkin, thank you for all at the Boathouse for making this occasion even more special.

We found this place on a Monday so sadly no meal for us, but what a beautiful setting for a quiet drink beside the river. The staff were just lovely and drinks reasonably priced. Definitely will return to this place for a meal soon.

We found this lovely pub when away on holiday. Great for family’s as also has a little park. Food was amazing and great price. Staff so helpful. If ever in this area again will be going back for a second visit.

We visited for dinner this week as part of a group of 4 people. The food was beautifully cooked and very tasty, our only complaint was that it was served a bit cold, Our Australian guest had the lamb as did I and he said that it was the tastiest piece of lamp he'd ever eaten and I have to agree however I have an asbestos mouth and if only it had been a couple of degrees warmer. The other two people in our group had the sausages, they both said they were very good. A beautiful place to eat with scenic views and reasonable quality food.

We waited hours for food and dessert, despite preordering, only to have the staff rudely complain three times that the young children were then becoming restless waiting for their food.
