I took my 90 year old mum in law to the bradeil retail outlet were the broadwalk cafe is situated. Unfortunately when accessing the retail outlet. Mum caught her foot in a loose anti slip strip on the disabled access ramp. This raised the loose board also tripping up myself. We were both on the floor. Staff and the manager got us up and the manager took us to have a seat in the boardwalk cafe. The owners gave us both a hot sweet tea. And as we had bruising they gave us ice packs in tea towels. A great gesture. After we had sat for about 40 mins we looked at there comprehensive menu and were surprised at the choice and value for money of the prices. In the end we plumped for the homemade Victoria sponge. It was very nice a decent sized slice at a good price. The boardwalk is a franchise within the bradeil wharf retail. And they went out of there way to help us so we will definately be back.

Such friendly staff, so welcoming, adhered to our requests. I recommend the burger- so juicy and flavoursome! The club sandwich was excellent, the cakes were the perfect end to a perfect lunch. I asked which drink they would recommend for soya milk- they said the hazelnut hot chocolate- it did not disappoint. Lovely experience, will definitely be back!

Sited in the middle of a store this café is a gem. Super clean and adjacent to the car park (for those disabled) this café offers one of the best breakfasts I've bought in ages. Proper homely cooking with efficient friendly staff and all at a reasonable price.

I’ve been staying in the hotel opposite this cafe and for the past 3 days my family of 6 have been having brunch in this cafe. There is more choice than in the hotel and the prices are very reasonable. The staff are friendly and the place is packed due to the food, service and staff. If Carlsberg made cafes they would have made the boardwalk cafe. Probably the best cafe in Dover! Will defo be back on my day of departure.

My husband and I discovered this gem today. I had a cheese and ham toastie, my husband had the club sandwich. Both were freshly prepared, excellent quality and presented very well, they were delicious. The pleasant lady who took our order advised it was included in the eat out in August promotion. The lady who brought out our food was also very pleasant with a lovely smile, she checked we was happy. The tables were all set out to adhere to covid guidelines and the cafe was very clean. We observed the tables being cleared and cleaned promptly. We will certainly go back.

I dont expect mutch from a coffee shop, except, coffee, decent food and good service, , I popped in for a coffee and a pastie with my partner an child, the woman who served me was pleasant and calm, meanwhile her Co worker tall with brown hair, seemed to be in a strop about something, slaming cupboard doors and fridges tuting and sighing when given coffee orders and speaking very sharply to her Co worker, after getting my coffee and tea I sat at a table and waited for my pasties, when they came over (tall woman with brow hair) abruptly stated what the were as they were slammed on the table, that aside I know the probably don't make the hot pastrys but the pastie but it was pretty bad with not alot of filling, cheep condiment sachets wich all have weird tastes (I know that brand so staff not to blame) , I don't think I will be going there again, unless I want to be stressed out and disappointed, working in the catering industry myself I feel that some of these issues need addressing

Fairly good coffee served in this cafe. Nothing special but ok for a quick refreshment break. Reasonably priced and plenty of places to sit down. There is even a child soft play area which is quite handy for the kids.

Latest visit.... Amazing coffee and delicious banana loaf. Carrot cake not the best today. Update.... Popped in for a delicious afternoon lunch Must say pork bap with dripping gravey was awesome and so was my partner's omelette. Crusted new roasted potatoes were excellent. Good traditional tea here and super coffee!! Would definitely revisit and highly recommended. Delightful cafe serving up some excellent coffee and cake. Also there's main meals available which I've not had the pleasure in trying yet. But I can recommend the toast banana bread, absolutely delicious with a perfectly made cappuccino. Staff pleasant, attentive and helpful. Highly recommended

Fantastic place for coffee, breakfast, lunch or cake. Food is always great, as is the coffee, and the character of the building makes this a really nice place to while away the hours. Best of all though are the lovely, lovely staff who are so warm and welcoming, and an absolute pleasure to have got to know over the past 2 plus years. It's almost like my 2nd home as I spend so much time here. 😊 😊

Noticed this bijou shop as we were attracted initially by the Groovy illuminated sign in the window advertising cloths and coffee/tea. What a surprise! We were greeted warmly by a young lady behind the counter. The main surprise was it was incredibly small, 2 individual chairs, a 2 seater retro cloth settee and an additional small seating area immediately under the counter in front of the display of cakes (not ideal) customers would literally be sitting virtually upon each other although we were the only customers in attendance at that moment in time. We had tea and 2 rather small cakes and were charged over £12! To summarise, whilst the young lady serving was friendly she fell short on what pricing of the cloths and various items for sale were if not tagged and also was rather naive in knowledge about the local town area. Overall the experience was different and the products for sale were interesting albeit scant we would not choose to return over other more spacious and better value venues locally.

Spire’s Cafe - true hospitality. It’s not modern or has amazing decor. It’s an old church, converted into a cafe. We left our airb&b and walked around Deal and couldn’t find one that could set all 9 of us until we chanced upon Spire’s Cafe at 11am still serving breakfast!! The lady showed us into a side room. Yes, it has mismatched furniture (but I’d gladly bring home one of the dining tables which is most likely an antique!). We were served a full English breakfast with coffee (latte, cappuccino or whatever is your favourite) or tea. Then we were gifted with Bubble & Squeek!! (For those of us not familiar with this, it’s basically fried vegetables - potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli - or any leftover vegetables). And all just £8 each. Add £2 for two pieces of hash brown!
