Always a reliable place for good food, service and atmosphere. Not pretentious. Pretty country pub. Lovely big garden for summertime.

The Bluebell is such a great pub. Great location, indoor and outdoor seating, great food and the staff are always really friendly. They are great with allergies and know everything that's in their dishes. The serving staff are always happy to check with the kitchen and make small tweaks to dishes to accommodate.

Lovely pub, sadly too loud for my Mum with her hearing aids. The noise left her unable to hear anyone talking in our group. The food was lovely and tasty too!

Had a lovely Birthday meal, we were a large group all having roasts and the food and service was great, everyone was friendly and helpful. Lucy went above and beyond to help with booking our group and making sure we got our Sunday roast. Dog friendly, lovely pub, definitely recommend

Excellent food, excellent service, what more could you want??

This place needs to invest £20 in an automatic door closer. They are not spending enough on the heating (what had gone off when we arrived) to allow the doors to remain open. I had to get up 4 times during my meal to shut the door left open by people coming in and out so as to stop my food going cold and being uncomfortable there. When I spend £100 on a meal for 2, I shouldn't have to be closing the door every 2 minutes. Not in a hurry to return I'm afraid despite the ale being lovely.

Popped in for a beer and a snack on a Sunday afternoon. A friendly welcome - all tables booked but were lucky to get a table by the cosy open fire. Snack were very tasty too, hope to visit again for a full meal and a walk in the area

What a hidden gem! Was looking for a decent pub around the frensham area and found this. I did go on a weekday so it was a little quiet, but on the flip side I had great service and prompt delivery, the food was great with that extra bit of care and attention towards the food from the chefs. Beer selection was good with a solid range of local beers and ales to suit any taste in that department. Compared to my local (Cornwall) prices were a little inflated however considering the location I think they were still pretty reasonable. Unfortunately I can’t say I’ll be back anytime soon cause it’s so far away from me, but if I’m up this way will certainly pop by!

Perfect. A quiet spot nestled away in the countryside with a great vibe - as a warm, welcoming, and traditional country pub. Very attentive and friendly staff. Unpretentious, authentic and genuine, with good food and great service that's a credit to the youngsters delivering it.

Lovely atmosphere, really friendly, happy and obliging staff. Roast dinner really enjoyed by my husband and the curry was good but needed a little extra sauce, overall would definitely recommend.

Hard to find without sat nav,, need to cut the overgrown bushes at front to reveal the pub sign, we missed it cos it was so hidden.

Staying locally we needed somewhere to go for our evening meal. We found The Bluebell online and booked straight away. Nice rural location with great staff and great food. Very reasonable price will certainly return. Thank you.

They above and beyond, when I had to keep changing the reservation, really understanding and accommodating. The food was incredible, really hot and good portion size. And the biggest plus is it’s dog friendly! Definitely would come back

A really nice pub with friendly service. The food is good with generous portions. The waitress overheard my husband making a comment about it being my birthday, and minutes later brought out a chocolate brownie with a candle, even though we had declined to order desert. Such a lovely gesture and much appreciated.

The pub is very local to the area and hidden away. However once found, it is an amazing place to catch up with friends and families and unwind. The pub has great indoor and outdoor seating with a very welcoming, warm vibe. Since I am a vegetarian, the food options were very limited however it was good.

Nice pub, out of the way, friendly atmosphere, nice garden, small parking area, nice staff, decent pub style food not fancy but good quality.

This is an amazing pub - I’m coeliac and it’s really hard to find such an accommodating and helpful pub with excellent food and service. Nothing is too much trouble! Cannot recommend enough ❤️

Went there for lunch Tuesday 23rd. Very friendly bar staff. Sat outside in the sunny garden. Our drinks and food were brought out to us. Both our meals were very good but the drinks were somewhat expensive. There are goats in a pen by the garden which is obviously good for children to view.

Without a doubt, the best pub in the area. Consistently amazing food, drinks and exceptional customer service.

UPDATE 28/4/23 I've updated the review from 3 to 4 stars. We went here recently as a big group and everything was nice, better than last time. The starters leaved a little to be desired, there really wasn't much food. Other than thag though, it was good. Ohh and the dessert are pretty big, but not complaining here!! We've had many good experiences here, however the last was rather disappointing. We stopped in for a final lunch, before leaving the country in the evening, all settling on sandwiches for ease. Unfortunately they took over an hour to arrive, getting to the point where we had to ask the bar what was going on! The food tatsed good, but it just seemed like a long wait for a couple of steak sandwiches and a cheese sandwich! I've given three stars (reduced from my previous 5) in the hope that this was just a one off! It has a lovely beer garden and some ncie goats now, so we will give it another chance

We ate dinner on Christmas Eve, service was a bit slow but food was good and staff were very friendly. Heaters outside and blankets available for when it's cold.

Had a late lunch here yesterday: four of us plus 2 Dogs. We received a warm welcome and the Dogs did too. Roast lunches were delicious and the service was friendly and attentive. Thank you very much.

Looks a bit unpreposessing from the outside, but was cozy inside. Food was good and reasonably priced, staff pleasant, cheerful and friendly. There's quite a lot of outside seating easy to imagine it would be a great place to go for lunch on a sunny summer day. Unfortunately it was a foggy December day, worth remembering it doesn't open until 12, we spent 20 cold minutes outside before it opened!

Reliably the best Sunday lunch for miles around, topped by superbly friendly and efficient service. We love The Bluebell and would recommend this lovely country pub to all who are passing the area... except that if we do, we would be giving away our best kept secret!

We had such a lovely afternoon at The Bluebell. We had a double birthday party. Lucy and get staff were so very helpful, attentive without being intrusive. The food was delicious. We opted for Sunday Roasts. All very lovely, we had pork, beef and chicken as our options. Yorkshire puddings very nice. Thank you for our lovely afternoon.

We had the loveliest afternoon today at the bluebell. The staff were absolutely amazing and made my father in laws 70th birthday so special. The food was delicious and every single person in our group of 22 would absolutely agree with me. Its in such a beautiful location with a fantastic beer garden. If you are looking for great food with friendly attentive staff this is the place for you. Thank you to everyone who looked after us today.

Lovely country pub with a big garden for the kids and has two goats to keep the little ones entertained. Really great menu and good for allergens. Gluten free food options and GF ale on tap. Brilliant service on top, what's not to like!

Recently had dinner with friends at The Bluebell, would happily recommend, the food was fantastic, especially the sticky toffee pudding! The staff are lovely, friendly and the service was excellent. Also fantastic value for money, lovely garden too.

Great setting in the north downs, pricey but thats what supermarkets have done to remote pubs, good beers and service.

Lovely pub in a lovely area, gets busy on a Sunday but they still found space for us to have a drink and nibbles after a local walk.

Spent the afternoon here for a big family gathering. I struggled with the menu on the day initially due to dietary requirements so chose off the kids menu which I was fine with. The amazing staff however sorted the dish into an adult’s version unbeknown to me which was simply a god send considering I hadn’t ate all day and this was about 2:30/3:00pm! 100% recommend and would visit again if I’m back in the area and the opportunity arises. Thank You!

The food at The Bluebell is astonishing, the garden is huge and one area is covered. They own two goats, one called Phil and one called ben, they are young goats and can do amazing stunts!

Lovely pub with a lovely garden, however you cannot just turn up. We were not able to buy a drink and sit in the garden on the grass, despite there being empty tables. The food looked marvellous and staff were really attentive to those that had booked a table.

Great food all round for 6 of us with quick service. Would definitely recommend.

Similar experience to others it seems - don't bother dropping by for a drink - bookings only - no ifs no buts. Since it was sunny, I said ok I'll just stand in the otherwise empty garden. Nope. Sit on the grass? Not on your nelly. They did manage to get us a table under the awning, which was appreciated, but frankly the experience and set up is just very weird and one I can't be bothered with negotiating again. I wasn't even sure if I could leave my seat. Was standing up allowed in this pub? I can only assume not. Staff were friendly enough, but obviously the person running the gaff has set their rules and there can be no deviations. Fair enough I guess, but not for me.

Ended up here on a recent walk. What a gorgeous pub with great food. A special mention to the short haired girl working the bar and garden food delivery, she was amazing. There was only one sandwich on the lunch menu, but she organised a few other choices with the chef and generally a very helpful social girl. A great location for parking, lunch and incredible local walks. If you're good for 10km, you can do a circular walk to Frenshsm Ponds from here.

We were a large walking group, we summited our food choices before our walk, and it was ready shortly after we returned from a 5 mile walk around Alice Holt forest.

Wonderful pub, brilliant owners. Run well, very friendly and positive staff. Highly recommend the food, so delicious and wonderful pub garden too. Can’t wait to visit again in the summer months

Be careful this is a RESTAURANT NOT A PUB!! You can't come in for a drink and you have to make a reservation before. We walked 5k to the pub only to be rudely turned away.

A lovely country pub that must be a really great spot in the summer with all the outside seating. Inside very traditional in a nice way and the dried hops as decoration a nice touch. Staff incredibly friendly and service efficient with nothing too much trouble. Sunday lunch very good, beef cooked nicely for my tastes with a pink centre, maybe lacking a green veg and gravy a little thin for my northern standards but on the whole a nice lunch. The up selling of the cauliflower cheese surprised me as I haven't had this for a very long time when dining out but hats off to them, we bought the sales pitch. That said, despite assurances of its popularity, it was a bit lacklustre and more like a cauliflower rice in sauce than the florets I was expecting but maybe that's how people like it here? Kids dishes fairly average, the burger especially, a bun should be sized appropriately and the one here engulfed the small burger patty but it was "ok" (my 9 year old has quite high standards) and priced fairly, a smaller bun or a bigger (or more "smashed") burger would have worked. All in all a nice experience and I'd certainly revisit again for the Sunday dinner.

Lovely country pub, staff very friendly and helpful. Quite a wait for food and disappointing lamb. This cut needs long slow cooking as there is a lot of fat but if cooked correctly, is delicious and the meat should just fall away. I required a steak knife, the fat was inedible and hardly any meat, the beef in our party too was not so good. However, the veg, yorkshire pudding and gravy made the meal otherwise we would have complained. Desserts were delicious.
