Popped in for lunch today ,Steak and Guinness baguettes A friendly local with a warm welcome and log fire I wish it was my local well done guys keep it up 👍🍻

Thursday night is their weekly quiz. Best quiz I have been to by a mile. Bar staff are fantastic. Quizmaster Joe absolutely smashes it every week.

We booked the upstairs room for a 90th birthday party, on a weekday afternoon. A lovely seperate room with own bar and entrance. Ideal for our group of just under 20. We had a cold buffet supplied for our guests which was old school, just how we wanted it. Hand food, pastas and salad. Everyone had enough and complimented the spread provided. Bar staff were great. Certainly had no complaints. All in all friendly helpful staff and service. My Dad had a wonderful afternoon.

Friendly welcome. Excellent food, all obviously homemade. Steak in guiness pie was a winner with the husband and I had the cottage top pie, that I had never heard of. Excellent and will definitely have again. Went well with a glass of cider. Great food, friendly service and staff. Will be going again.

The Sunday roast was amazing the beef melted in your mouth,I enjoyed every mouthful,the staff were polite at all times,nice and quiet atmosphere,to all reviewing.this l would not be disappointed

Delicious Sunday roast dinner. Great portion size! Staff were warm and friendly. Atmosphere was relaxed with plenty of ales and beers on tap. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

The best pint in Godalming. Christmas is nearly here and the pub looks great. Log fires are lit to make it a super cosy local. Good selection of beers and guest ales and a lunchtime menu to suit all. Double fire places in the main bar and a great back bar with dart board. With New year round the corner that means 6 nations so get down, grab your pint and enjoy the rugby with friends and family. Tribute is still a Superb pint but worth trying the guest ales.

Traditional pub at the end of Godalming High Street. 2 bars though we only visited the Lounge bar, Warm and cosy with an open fire at each end. Welcoming staff and well kept ales. Beer garden at rear.

First time we've had a Sunday roast from here and it was delicious! It has a cosy atmosphere with fires (in both rooms), friendly staff and doggos welcome too with even a treat at the bar for them. Always welcoming when we pop in for a drink or a mid-week lunch too. Thank you

Nice enough pub at top of road from station. Nice Xmas decoration, and pleasant enough environment for "a quick one" before catching the train.

This pub was recommended for holding a small surprise Birthday party for a colleague and The Richmond didn't disappoint. We had an amazing night, the staff were friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. It won't be our last visit and look forward to having lunch someday soon. Thank you so much!!

We often explore different towns on our days off and today we decided to go to Godalming . After a day checking out the the local shops we stumbled across this lovely pub.. Traditional local with a warm atmosphere.’ The bar staff Sam was so friendly and even gave us table service. Didn’t have food but the ladies on our adjacent table said it was delicious. Always good to support a local pub especially one as friendly and warm as this one

I can’t believe I’ve lived in Godalming for over 20 years and yet never visited the Richmond Arms before now. We were meeting a friend for a drink and I have to say it really was a most delightful local style pub, with friendly bar staff and a very agreeable ambience. We didn’t eat there on this occasion but I’m sure we’ll be back at some point to do just that.

What a wonderful find. A real pub with very friendly people. This is how a pub should be. The landlady couldn't have been more friendly and on chatting to her we found out she had run the pub for 37 years. Amazing!!! Joe behind the bar was happy and welcomed us as soon as we arrived. Well kept beer and a great atmosphere. It's a shame l live in Essex as this would definitely be my local if l lived near by.

I don't live close by but visit, with several friends, once a month. The ambience is very welcoming. The staff are friendly, polite and attentive. The homemade food is absolutely fabulous and if I lived closer I would visit far more often. The best pub food for miles.

Worked in Godalming for 2 years but for some reason had never been in here, will return. Stella on tap which seems to be rare nowadays and delicious home cooked food which isn’t too pricey, had a cheese & mushroom omelette which was perfect. Nice darts area out the back too. Thanks

A really excellent Sunday lunch which I believe is cooked by the landlady, friendly staff efficient service what more could you ask for. It really was one of my favourite Sunday roasts. Only draw back is that there are no vegetarian options on a Sunday.

Lunch for two. Food is excellent, home-cooked, good portions and great value for money. Something on the menu for everyone and service is friendly and helpful. Nice warm traditional pub environment.

Well I think the title says it all.Fantastic pub atmosphere, relaxed, open fires, friendly, helpful staff. But above all this, the best roast beef I have ever eaten! This roast dinner came to me highly recommended and I now know why! Superb. I will be back! Well done to the Richmond team.

Pub food with a difference, their specials show old favourites with variations - some of which you may need to ask what they actually are! We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the prices were competitive, great atmosphere just before Xmas at lunchtime

Soy un habitual en el Richmond y comer allí con mi familia una o dos veces al mes. Es un pequeño pub sirve cerveza bien cuidado y tradicional pub grub a precios razonables el almuerzo (no comida por las tardes). Las dos chimeneas en el bar ofrecen una cálida bienvenida en el invierno y especialmente los pasteles - pasteles shortcrust decente en vez de la cuñas de sopa de carne con pot hojaldre encima que muchos lugares sirven.

Me encanta este pub. No es un "bar de moda vino "por cualquier medio, si eso es lo que te gusta, es mejor ir a otro lugar. Sí, podría ser llamado un poco anticuada. Pero es un cálido y acogedor local con vino agradable y precios muy buenos. Di y Joe siempre tan amable. Puerto acogedor en tormenta en invierno; jardín en verano. Es todo un buen local debería ser.

Yo tenía que ir a mi esposa a charterhouse hoy escuela para un campamento que ella era líder cchf y decidimos almorzar en el camino. Estábamos tan contentos que elegimos los brazos de Richmond. El camarero era muy amable, me dijo que nos podíamos sentar en cualquier mesa libre y explicó que el domingo fue sólo cenas asado en el menú.

We have popped into the Richmond Arms several times over the years for a quick drink but today was of those rare hot sunny Saturday's that we often hear about but infrequently enjoy, and after wondering around Godalming we decided to stop for a drink and a bite to eat for lunch.As always the service at the bar was welcoming and friendly and the menu and specials blackboard have plenty of choice.The food was typical pub food, tasty, reasonably priced and came in a timely manor and the beer was good.The gem to this little pub is the beer garden, courtyard out the back. Someone has spent a lot of time on the bushes, shrubs and flowers and made this space a very pleasant.If your out an about in the area I would certainly recommend the Richmond Arms on a sunny day.

I have had several Sunday roasts here over the years and have never been disappointed. There is plenty of excellently cooked food on the plate. Whether you have the chicken, lamb, or any other meats that are being served you will not be disappointed…. the chicken or meat is lovely and moist, roast potatoes cooked to perfection along with a selection of vegetables and delicious gravy. You will not leave the table hungry. The beer is kept well and there is a good selection of wine is you prefer this. The staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. I would definitely recommend this wonderful pub to anyone.

We went in with our dog which immediately been showered with dog biscuits. We warmed up by the open fire and ordered jacket potatoes and a sandwich. Both meals were fresh, full of flavour and tasty. The staff were warm and friendly and we felt this was a down to earth proper 'local' . Recommended

I have used the Richmond over many years for drinking having lived in godalming all my life.I suggested to my mother & father that they should lunch there for her birthday which they did [17/02/16] and very much enjoyed their meal .After their comments we had to feed there ourselves and what super pub grub it cant get any better.My wife & I & 3 teenagers would recommend the Richmond to all very clean as always open fires friendly and lots of hot food,perfect chicken pie & mash & endless scampi yum yum

It was amazing! Wonderful ,Roast pork,& all sorts of veggies & yummy Roast potatoes! As usual the day ended fast.We will return! Thank you to all the wonderful care at the Richmond Arms.

The Richmond Arms is one of my all time favorite pubs! Di and her team always make everybody feel welcome and treat you like a long lost friend! Would highly recommend there oub quizzes as they are always fun and light hearted i travel from Petersfield to come to this pub!

11people for my grandaughter's21st birthday lunch.I chose here because had a good lunch before.We had a really good lunch apart from one person didn't like the beef as he perfected it well cooked.we also had a jack Russell dog with us that was not a problem.very friendly staff even though we kept them working late on a Sunday.I will be going again.

Over the last few years, I've been to The Richmond Arms a few times - in fact, their event for the Royal Wedding made us travel to Godalming especially. There was a great atmosphere in the pub, with televisions on screening the wedding as well as a really good barbeque and live music.Since then I've returned twice, on the first visit on a cold December morning last year when the log fires were really welcome. On that occasion I had a cottage/shepherds pie 'top' - I was intrigued with what this could be. When it arrived, it had many extra ingredients thrown into the potato topping: onion; bacon; and strangest of all, egg.This bizarre twist on an English favourite is apparently one of their best sellers, but I didn't rate it.On a more recent visit in February I had fish and chips and this was a day after having it at The Spotted Dog in Dorking. Sadly the fish and chips at The Richmond Arms didn't match up, having a distinctly 'bought-in' feeling about the batter as opposed to the battered-on-site freshness of the fish and chips at The Spotted Dog.Perhaps I've just had two bad experiences with the menu at The Richmond Arms. I have seen the roasts served and they do look good - but thus far I'm yet to be impressed with the menu and the quality of the food churned out from the kitchen. The staff are friendly, the log fires welcome on a cold winters' day and the ale is kept well. The back bar available for private hire is ideal for small parties and the whole pub has a nice cosy feel about it. One TripAdvisor 'blob' is lost for the could-do-better nature of the food experienced thus far.

The most friendly pub you could ask for. Great atmosphere, log firs in the winter and an area to sit in summer sunshine. Usual selection of drinks, including my favourite tipple (Rioja) and good food freshly prepared for a good pub lunch. Great.

We are regular visiters to The Richmond Arms especially Sunday lunch time. You do have to book as other people have discovered this lovely home-cooked roast dinner. Delicious puddings too. They also keep the best ale in Godalming according to my husband.

Visited this pub for lunch whilst staying in Godalming last weekend. Very friendly staff and locals who all seemed to know each other but were very friendly to everyone, with most customers having a well behaved dog with them! Warm welcome by two happy spaniels when we walked in and we made friends with a lovely black Labrador called Jack! Great atmosphere, good choice of drinks. Food cooked fresh, we had fish finger bap with chips and side salad which was really nice, good selection of other pub favourites as well such as chilli and macaroni cheese. Sunday lunch also available. Would visit again and would recommend, especially to dog lovers!

My friend and I have eaten at the Richmond Arms a number of times I used to fetch my mother when she was alive sadly she passed away 3 years ago the food is excellent home made fresh, NO frozen food at this restaurant, the food is well presented and piping hot, the staff are very friendly and very helpful and the landlady is lovely, it is also child friendly, I would definitely eat here again.Lorraine.

We choose the pub since it was near the car park where we left our car. My friends ordered burger, and chicken salad while I decided to order tuna and egg salad which are all delicious. My friend even joked that in London when she ordered salad there was less chicken and more leaves but in Richmond Arms it's the other way around.The place and people are very lovely too.

One of the very few real pubs left in Godalming along with the Star, great real ales, the Lasagne is one of the best meals I have ever had. The regulars in there are extremely friendly, staff were very helpful and polite, I will be going here again for sure.

Not only were we celebrating Mothering Sunday, but also the birthday of my daughter-in-law's mother in this traditional pub in central Godalming. We had the upper section of the pub all to ourselves (there were around 12 of us with 3 children). We were allowed to decorate the room and bring in a birthday cake. Sunday lunch choice was between 3 roasts - beef, lamb or pork all served with a Yorkshire pudding and lots of veg. Mustard, apple sauce and horseradish were on the table ready and waiting for us. Very nice meal - having the cake we didn't sample the puddings (will save that treat for next time). Staff were very friendly and helpful popping in and out to ensure we had everything we needed. Very impressed indeed. They had their normal menu which included some wonderful old fashioned dishes - corned beef hash and cauliflower cheese all very reasonably priced.

This pub offers a wonderful view of old town Godalming and serves the best Sunday Lunch that reflects great home cooking. I visited yesterday with friends and enjoyed fantastic roast pork with delicious crackling, perfectly cooked vegetables and a wonderful yorkshire pudding with gravy. In addition, they serve the perfect pint of Youngs beer!
