Great location by the harbour. Good food and service.

Great food great atmosphere, would recommend and return, dog friendly.

Came to the Blue Peter Inn whilst on a stroll around Polperro for a drink 4 adults and 4 kids. We then decided to come back for dinner later on as the food looked delicious. It definitely did not disappoint. The fish and chips were the best I’ve ever tasted (I don’t normally like fish at all) and the kids chocolate fudge cake would put Bruce bogtrotters to shame! The pub has the charm of an old pub and an amazing atmosphere. This is topped off by the lovely staff members who are so accommodating and friendly. During a busy night they did all they could to squeeze us in before they closed the kitchen and even though they were run off their feet you felt like you’re the only customers in there! When next in this area we will be returning. Thank you to Bungie and all the other wonderful staff!

Very lovely staff, great food and great views! There was a long wait time but the owner was very transparent with us and kept us up to date. The food was great, the fish was fresh and the portions were great value for money. A great time was had!

Four adults and our three young children called in for lunch on a glorious mid week day and could not have been more impressed! The kids were served their meals speedily which kept them occupied and we had excellent food including crab linguine, seafood platter and sea bass. All were first rate. We were able to grab a table outside which was a great way to enjoy the fantastic views of the harbour. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable visit and it is a credit to the team who looked after us, so special thanks go to; Raine, Abby, Emily, Francesca, MJ, and Kaiha.

Great little bar , superb drink selection, staff are very friendly and the food is excellent, 'Last pub before france' you'd never get to France if you stop for a drink in polperro 😁

We had a lovely dinner at the Blue Peter Inn! Super cosy and warm atmosphere, and the staff were so nice! The food was very good, we had the regular and the vegan fish & chips which were both very good! We did the small size, which was plenty for us! I do some scrapbooking so the bartender kindly gave me a little memorabilia with the pub logo on it! They are dog friendly as well, which is very nice!

Food was exceptional, and I can recommend the crab linguine and Caribbean curry. Also the children's fish and chips went down really well, definitely not fish fingers.

My wife and I were celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary and this place was recommended to us by a friend who had passed through the village on her trek of the costal path. Amazing , very reasonable prices and a very warm a friendly welcome from all the staff. We stoped in at 11.30 to see what time food was being served and were told the kitchen opens at 12.00. The land lady was more than happy to accommodate us for a drink even before they were officially open. We both went for the burger with blue cheese and gherkins , served with chips and salad . Wow- it was possibly the best burger I’ve ever had , but certainly the best pub chips I’ve tasted. Service was quick for us as we were first in the door , but the place soon filled out and it appeared other punters food was arriving promptly. Plenty to choose from for the sea food lovers , and enough in between to keep everyone else happy . A very enjoyable place with lots of quirky decor , art and life long sayings . Would definitely come back and was happy to tip such a lovely bunch of people .

Really lovely place, staff were excellent and great selection of beers & spirits to choose from. They have a roof terace ( beware of the seaguls), as well as seats outside the pub.

It's a very busy pub that seems to be full of everyone from Polperro. Service was eclectic last time I visited and space was at a premium but far better to endure this than to be sitting in an empty pub...

One of my favourite pubs. Great location in a lovely harbour village. Visited twice and on second visit was charged for 2 large portions rather than small but mistakes happen. Twenty years ago a friend of mine said it was the best pub in the world. Still hard to disagree.

Had a meal tonight, everything was grand apart from a badly cooked burger. They offered to give us the full cost back which I refused as not necessary. Everything else was nice. Only really annoying point was lack of baby changing facilities, a mat on the floor which is unsanitary and not always appropriate for all customers.

We found a lady that had fallen and felt faint on the south coastal path about .5 of mile from the pub. My wife went down to fetch help and Fran from the pub came up with sugary drinks and water to help. She was amazing, a credit to New Zealand!! Helpful and dropped everything to help, the only world appropriate is legend!!! Although this lady is from the southern hemisphere she is the heart of Polperro.

For lunch we ordered the crab linguine and fried halloumi with salad. The linguine was exceptional with really fresh crab meat. Staff was really friendly.

A very old pub I almost was expecting pirates to walk in. Enjoyed my Crab meal.

Cosy but very friendly. The landlord and landlady were superb made is feel like we were visiting our mates. The food was amazing and it was Great value for money. If you're ever in Polpero don't leave without having a drink and something to eat from this fantastic pub.

Well, if you visit Polperro, you might have to eat something. We had fish and chips and fried calamari. Nothing special, also nothing really wrong. But we had better food for the same prices. The food looked half-heartedly prepared and the taste was average. The place is nice, however, and having a pint in the sun looking at the harbour that's also something.

Always a good meal and friendly service both at the bar and by thd servers

Visit this week for lunch. Service was excellent food arrived quickly and was well presented. Can recommend the Halloumi and pizza.

A proper pub in the Heart of Polperro, dog friendly and why not indeed follow them on Facebook to see Dog on Wednesday. The menu is generous and proper homemade chips. The staff are super friendly.

Locally sourced seafood at its best. There are a few options for those who don't like fish or shellfish, but Polperro is a fishing village after all, and believe me, the seafood dishes are really yummy. The pub has this authentic fishermen/smugglers vibe, and you can even grab a pint to take with you down to the beach.

We live in looe so are very local and I can safely say that the blue Peter is one of our favourite places to go. Whenever we go to Polperro we always say we should try somewhere else for food but always seem to make a b line to the bluepeter and end up stuck there!!

After a stunning walk in the sun we had an excellent seafood platter. Francesca, the New Zealand bar lady was so welcoming with everyone, taking pictures of the dogs for FB. It was delightful!

Visited for drinks then food the next evening staff were lovely and welcoming especially to our little dog too. Food was lovely and presentation was good. Small dining area upstairs but felt nice and cosy although was busy too. We would definitely recommend

Delicious fish and chips! Scallops were perfectly cooked and seasoned and love the atmosphere. We weren't informed that we were supposed to order the food at the bar so ended up waiting half an hour only to find out by asking ourselves. Service could be better.

Everything a coastal pub should be. Very warm welcome, prompt service and the food was excellent. If I'm in the area again, I will be returning for sure.

Loved this pub. Accessed by steep side steps, so quietly inside & out. Food was superb. We had fish goujons, home made chips ( fab), slow cooked pork, spaghetti Bol for our grandson. All delicious, super efficient, friendly staff. All in cosy warm surroundings, a bit tight on space, very close tables as pub is very old & small. But it added to a great atmosphere.

Special position on the sea front. Olde world with open fires which are great in the cooler month. Beer range not quite as exciting as on previous visits.

Usually visit in the summer get a sandwich and sit on harbour. Hubby cannot visit as it has steps up to bar and he's not that mobile. The staff are happy to bring our order to us. On their website The Blue Peter has a Woof Wednesday and they allowed me to take Molly my cat, they even made a Meow Monday just for her. Brilliant Pub.

The most amazing seafood dishes. Fresh and cooked to perfection. Situated at a beautiful village. Do not expect to have good reception, nor WiFi, on the premises. We were unable to make a reservation on the phone. Wouldn't say that their toilets are at an acceptable level.

Beautiful cosy pub with such a warm welcome. Staff so friendly and happy to see you, every customer was greeted with a smile. Food was delicious but particularly the dishes on the specials board were excellent. Great range of beer and wine. Cannot fault this gorgeous pub. Cannot wait to come back.

This place is amazing! We had walked from Looe to Polperro and stopped here for some lunch. We are all very satisfied with our foods and the service here is amazing. Great place.

Everyone raved about this place so we had to go. The food and staff were really nice. The bar maid had returned after being away a while and it was a new menu so things were a bit confused. Not really sure about why it was so heavily raved about as only 5 on Tripadvisor but still. Go next door…more space and a bit more relaxed.

We had a fantastic meal in this lovely pub next to a log fire. Very friendly and happy staff, perfect service and great atmosphere. We could have spent all day in there! Can't wait for the next visit.

What a fantastic British Pub in a spectacular location. The Staff and atmosphere were very welcoming. This Pub is steeped in History with the low beams and real fireplace. Will definitely visit again.

Having lived in Polperro until my late teens and spent many hours in 'The Blue', I was apprehensive about going back after over 30 years! I needn't have worried! The pub is still familiar from those days, and it still has the same warm, unique and entertaining welcome, cosy nook feel, highlighted with bright light from sunshine pouring through its little windows. It definitely doesnt feel stuck in the past though (I think The Blue was simply always ahead of its time!). I had a very reasonably priced small fish and chips (perfect size btw) and my friend indulged in the seafood platter. Both were served much more quickly than we anticipated, exactly what we ordered and superb quality! Home made and delicious....I wish I could make chips like that! Really good background music and people coming in and out (as they always did), made for a fantastic atmosphere...it was great to see you so busy, but it wasn't too much for your brilliant team, who did an awesome job of looking after everyone. Thank you so much and I hope you continue to be well supported as you really deserve it 😊

Genuinely the best pub I've been in for years! Wonderful welcome, great food & drink. Dog friendly, numerous vegan & gluten free friendly options. The lady behind the bar was super friendly & welcoming. Wonderful atmosphere also, yee old cornish pub feel to it. Highly recommended! I will absolutely be returning in future, A+++

Absolutely love this pub, the girls working in the Saturday were very accommodating and the ales were superb. Sadly didn't get chance to eat here although the food looked superb.

Came in for dinner last Friday, honestly the best fish n chips I’ve ever had!! Very friendly atmosphere and a special thank you to Emily at the bar who couldn’t do enough for us.

A half term break in Polperro saw us call into this harbour-side pub on the Sunday for a Sunday lunch. Very busy indeed; we - a couple with a dog - struggled to fit inside at around 1pm but the two ladies behind the bar (Francesca and partner) made us feel so welcome, got some drinks down us and helped us to find a table within minutes. A great roast followed by 3pm gentle guitarist, coupled with the fanatic hosting from the two ladies behind the bar led to us staying until around 10.30pm!! We visited this pub nearly everyday thereafter, whiling away the afternoons, sheltering from the Cornish rain. Though it’s a popular pub, we quickly learned the calmer times and actually the weekdays were quieter than the weekends, despite it being half term. Aside from the fantastic food (I think we ate here nearly every day…), the unique cosy atmosphere and great conversation with other customers, one of the biggest draws for us was the bar team. During our week-long stay we encountered eight different bar staff (!) - every single one of which was an asset to this pub. Never too busy to chat - yet never taking their eye off the ball - friendly and so accommodating. A special mention must be made to ‘Abbie’, whom we encountered only twice, but on each occasion made us feel like we were the only people to step into the pub all week. Genuinely interested in us, an infectious warmth, and later in the week she even stopped her car in a busy Polperro street when she saw us to ask us how we were enjoying our holiday. You’d never think she’d served hundreds of tourists that week. There is certainly a magic to this pub. Please, never change!

Having driven for ever and suffered mileage anxiety in my newish EV (not a Tesla !) we got to Polperro. In serious need of Cider and Food, we stayed for hours ! Both fantastic food and drink (especially the Sea Fish Platter thing). Likely to be our HQ this week !

Absolutely beautiful and characterful pub, friendly staff and fab atmosphere. The squid rings and chips and scallops and prawns were excellent and good value, the keralan curry was pretty tasteless and watery and the crab and prawn linguine was a bit dry so we wouldn't recommend those two dishes personally.

One of the best pubs on the planet. When it’s busy, with live music, friendly faces and top notch ale, what the hell else do you need. Love the food too, and the staff are always great.

Such a fantastic pub - you'd go a long way to beat it as my uncle says. He introduced me to this pub having been coming for years as he lives locally. Whenever I visit him we come here, the friendliest team of people you could hope to meet, delicious fresh food and ample portions, fantastic beers and ales, all packaged up in the prettiest 'chocolate box' building right beside the harbour. A very special pub.

What a cracking pub. Felt the warmth of the place at the door before I even walked in. If you like pubs with character and personality you'll love it here. On my last visit the place was rocking with a band downstairs, had the family with me so we squeezed up the stairs where they found us a table. Fresh as possible fish and chips washed down with pints of Otter. Just brilliant.

This was our second visit in 4 days which speaks volumes. The service, atmosphere and food is very good. I had the best scallops and prawns I’ve had anywhere. The pub is dog friendly and there are small corners to sit out of the way with an anxious dog like ours.

Been coming to polperro for years always make time to visit the blue Peter as food is lovely ex specially the Home cooked chips .. this time the food was ..ok but the chips have took a right nose dive tasteless and seems like someone’s been to Iceland!!!!!

Quite simply a perfect pub. Great beer and other drinks, food looked tasty and big portions, right by the Harbour and a really great community local. First time back in at least 12 years and I wish I could have stayed the whole day

What an absolute gem of a find! An artist in the village pointed us in the direction of The Blue Peter and we were not disappointed. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing. Now, I'm very hard to please but the chips were the best I've ever had out and the burger was to die for. The beef and pork ragu linguine were fantastic, my family couldn't fault it. A decent sized portion. Served nice and hot by a lady with a smile. Don't walk past this place, go in, you won't be disappointed.

Lovely old pub with friendly staff and good beer unfortunately the food let this place down. Ordered a large fish and chips and instead three bland goujons turned up with a few edible chips and a lot of inedible ones that tasted a bit stale. I’d go back for a pint but I’m sorry I wouldn’t go back for the food.

Visiting Polperro and not going to ‘The Blue’ is actually against the law and punishable by exclusion from Cornwall for life. Of course, that’s not true, but it should be. The very spirit of the village, it’s history and it’s heritage, seeps from the timbers of the Blue Peter and to drink and eat is always a pleasurable and joyful experience; maybe even a spiritual one. The food is exquisite and always cooked to order. Reservations are not taken, but fear not. Come in and have a drink, tables come free sooner than you think and if you are lucky, you will get a much coveted ‘window seat’ Once again this week, I have sampled great food, drinks and even better company. The service is excellent. Best pub in the world? Most definitely.

Went here for lunch today as my husband used to go here many years ago with his oldest friend who sadly passed away a year ago. As we are staying in Cornwall felt it a fitting way to remember this friend. They used to play guitar in the room upstairs where we had out lunch today. Today the staff were very welcoming. The food was delicious. I had the crab on flat bread with chips and salad the only slight thing was the chips were a little greasy but still nice. My husband had the seafood linguine he loved it . Had the small but this was more than enough. Glad we made the decision to eat here.
