Came back post Covid 5 years later: 5 hour drive & still love it. Polperro is so special and this pub is part of the reason. Had a lovely dinner on Sat night - best bouillabaisse I’ve ever had! Came back on Sunday for a music afternoon which as ever was fantastic! Drive to Polperro it’s in Cornwall near England!

Well, if you visit Polperro, you might have to eat something. We had fish and chips and fried calamari. Nothing special, also nothing really wrong. But we had better food for the same prices. The food looked half-heartedly prepared and the taste was average. The place is nice, however, and having a pint in the sun looking at the harbour that's also something. My reply to the puzzled owner: I added a picture because Google nudged me to do so. Did not know that this then looks like a new review.

Wandered in at 12, fancied sitting at a table that was seemingly being used to write up the day’s specials board, but with no one in attendance we had to sit elsewhere. Wife ordered a couple of drinks, and we waited…..and waited….and waited. I was eventually led to ask what the hold up was…informed by my wife the barman was more interested in nattering to other people rather than focussing on his role behind the bar….back to the specials board….a member of staff had now appeared and was still taking time to write it up….surely you complete this rather simple task BEFORE you open your doors? But no…..the staff member had still not finished with it, or the still-empty table upon which it rested, by the time we made to leave half an hour later. But the really funny thing? We heard who we assumed was the manager say to the staff member as we left, words to the effect of “……about time….not good for business is it?” as the board was finally placed in its rightful position….well over half an hour after the pub opened. We live in West Cornwall, but this is taking ‘dreckly’ too far…..especially when you’re not busy🤔🙄🙄

Overall a great place to eat. We come every time we visit Cornwall, mostly for nostalgia. Good range of beers and ales, and a great house wine ( sangiovese). We had crab linguine and the fish platter. Both were of a good standard for the price. Nice people and great location. Crab linguine was a little "wet" for my wife but I liked it ( mopped up the broth). The seafood platter could have been seasoned a little more but was pleasant. Scallops the highlight. The place was packed, yet we were able to get onto a waiting list within minutes and were told it could take up to 30 minutes, but less than 10 minutes later, we were already seated, with drinks at a cosy little table. Despite the bar being very busy, we were quickly served. The food was generous, not too expensive, perfectly cooked and delicious. The whole experience was outstanding! Lovely meal in an historic pub on Polperro quayside. It was really busy but we and our little dog were soon seated. We were told it was a 45min wait for food which we didn't mind at all, would rather be told then make the choice to stay or not. Glad we did as the food was very good, piping hot and generous portions. Service was very good too. My seafood platter was divine. My only criticism would be the heat in there was a little stifling but I guess being upstairs made this worse. We will most definitely be back and would recommend it to others.

The Blue Peter Inn in Polperro is an absolute must-visit for anyone in the area. Perched near the harbour, the entrance is up a steep set of steps that lead you into a true gem of a pub. For those who enjoy soaking up the sun with a pint in hand, the benches outside offer a perfect spot. For the more adventurous, there's a small beer garden at the very top of the pub, accessible via a bit of a climb as it joins a cliff walk footpath—definitely worth the effort for the view! Stepping inside, you’re greeted by a cozy interior with low ceilings, exactly how you’d imagine an 18th-century pub. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting, with the place buzzing with conversation and laughter. The walls are adorned with fascinating artifacts, and you could easily spend hours exploring the history and stories they tell—all while enjoying a pint or two. The staff at the Blue Peter Inn are outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, and they know exactly how to run a proper pub. The menu is excellent, offering all the classic pub favorites along with some fantastic vegan options. The Tofish and Chips, Tofu Burger, and Jackfruit Caribbean Curry are all delicious and worth trying. One thing to note is that they don’t take bookings, so it’s a good idea to arrive early to get your name on the list. The pub gets very busy, and tables fill up quickly. In summary, the Blue Peter Inn is everything you could want in a traditional pub—charming, historical, and full of character. It’s a place you’ll want to return to again and again.

My wife and I live locally and we love Polperro and the Blue Peter is our favourite pub although we haven't been in them all yet. This pub is superbly located overlooking Polperro's tidal harbour with some outside seating alongside the harbour. The inside oozes with atmosphere with inviting, friendly, traditional décor. We have only eaten once out of our four or five visits, missing out on the last visit due to their 3pm cutoff for lunchtime meals. When we did eat there my wife had the Greek lamb dish which she said was excellent and I had the seafood platter which was also superb. It was so good that we brought our holiday guests here but we were unfortunately after 3pm. The service is excellent too and so this is our go to pub whenever we visit Polperro.

Came to the Blue Peter Inn whilst on a stroll around Polperro for a drink 4 adults and 4 kids. We then decided to come back for dinner later on as the food looked delicious. It definitely did not disappoint. The fish and chips were the best I’ve ever tasted (I don’t normally like fish at all) and the kids chocolate fudge cake would put Bruce bogtrotters to shame! The pub has the charm of an old pub and an amazing atmosphere. This is topped off by the lovely staff members who are so accommodating and friendly. During a busy night they did all they could to squeeze us in before they closed the kitchen and even though they were run off their feet you felt like you’re the only customers in there! My wife and I were celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary and this place was recommended to us by a friend who had passed through the village on her trek of the costal path. Amazing , very reasonable prices and a very warm a friendly welcome from all the staff. We stoped in at 11.30 to see what time food was being served and were told the kitchen opens at 12.00. The land lady was more than happy to accommodate us for a drink even before they were officially open. We both went for the burger with blue cheese and gherkins , served with chips and salad . Wow- it was possibly the best burger I’ve ever had , but certainly the best pub chips I’ve tasted. Service was quick for us as we were first in the door , but the place soon filled out and it appeared other punters food was arriving promptly. Plenty to choose from for the sea food lovers , and enough in between to keep everyone else happy . A very enjoyable place with lots of quirky decor , art and life long sayings . Would definitely come back and was happy to tip such a lovely bunch of people .

Loved it. We stopped for a quick pint, but would have liked to stay longer. Great pub with friendly staff and customers. Their real ales were also a bit hit. Didn't try the food. Look forward to visit when next in Penzance
