Amazing! I came here in Halloween night and it had a karaoke band. Soooooo coool! Had an amazing time!

Food was incredible. Panos was very welcoming and accommodating. Would 100% recommend

Yo y un amigo decidimos tomar una bebida caliente en la Laguna Azul esta mañana. Siempre había pasado por delante, y como había aparcamiento disponible, aparcado fuera y se dirigía a nuestro destino previsto en Gloucester Road. Al regresar al auto, antes de dejar a mi compañero y regresar a casa, le pregunté a mi amigo si quería una bebida caliente, y como no había comido nada antes de salir de la casa, tenía mucha hambre. Pedimos a mi amigo un café con leche de avena, y como quería un trago grande, preguntó por el tamaño. El individuo que nos servía, nos presentó la taza que usaría. Mi amigo estuvo de acuerdo y pedí un capuchino, también con leche de avena y un benidicto de huevos. El total llegó a más de £ 15. (Btw, estábamos en el bar, cerca de la orden de entrada). (Puedo decir que el buen servicio al cliente es, preguntando si hemos estado antes, preguntar si nos gustaría ver el menú, y confirmar el pedido). ¡Nunca tienes una segunda oportunidad con una primera impresión! Nos dieron un vaso de una pinta con una cuchara de madera, y cubiertos, bien envueltos en una servilleta en el interior. La cuchara de madera tenía un número 141. Pensé que la persona que nos servía mencionó algo sobre una mesa, pero no escuché claramente, miré a mi alrededor para ver si había números en la mesa, pero no, así que volví al bar para preguntar sobre la mesa. Me informaron que podía elegir cualquier mesa. Nos dirigimos a la parte de atrás, y nos sentamos en los bancos, frente a la barra. En observación mi amigo mencionó que había visitado previamente el establecimiento y notó que la decoración era diferente. En un breve escaneo de gatos parecía estar abierto, animado, aunque solo 4 personas afuera, y otra pareja adentro, y tenía el aspecto de un ambiente estudiantil urbano. En una inspección más minuciosa, fue bastante sucio, o debo decir sucio, y en nuestra opinión coincidimos en que la presentación podría hacerse con un poco de pintura fresca, y la atención prioritaria a la limpieza, es decir, la limpieza. Las ventanas, desde donde nos sentamos, era / es un gran punto focal para que la gente vea, y un buen lugar para ver el mundo pasar. La puerta doble estaba abierta, esencialmente necesario, ya que las temperaturas del día y la brisa era fantástico. Desafortunadamente, las ventanas no están limpias, tanto por dentro como por fuera y tenían huellas de manos y dedos por todas partes. Había un agujero en el techo que notamos y que no sobresalía, pero claramente visible tenía dos tuberías negras con telarañas y polvo alrededor. Los aires acondicionados no estaban encendidos, pero parecían viejos. No estoy seguro de si lo que estaba por encima de nosotros, posiblemente un altavoz, pero esto tenía un montón de manchas, posiblemente agua, o bebidas marca. La mesa estaba pegajosa, y había un vaso dejado en la mesa, posiblemente por un cliente anterior. Nuestras bebidas fueron servidas, esto podría haber sido presentado en una bandeja, ya que las bebidas fueron derramadas en la mesa, incluso con un platillo. El camarero no limpió las pequeñas cantidades de derrame en la mesa. Mi amigo le mencionó al camarero que en su última visita las bebidas calientes se servían con dos galletas. Aparentemente no fue así, debido al costo de la vida. Que fue la respuesta de los camareros. Mi amigo notó que su bebida era tibia, al igual que la mía. Llamamos al camarero, le informamos de esto y el camarero se ofreció a hacer una taza nueva para cada uno de nosotros. (Él no parecía feliz por esto, pero trató de componerse). Mi comida fue servida, de nuevo, no en una bandeja. El camarero también tenía otro plato con un bocadillo y ensalada en la otra mano, esto era para el otro cliente dentro supongo. Antes de salir le pregunté al camarero por qué el huevo benidicto se servía con dos trozos de jamón. Me informó que venía con jamón. (Qué extraño) Revisó el menú en una mesa cercana, todavía sosteniendo el pedido del otro cliente, y regresó informándome que los huevos reales era la opción de vegetación. (Posiblemente esto fue mi culpa, ya que nunca antes me habían servido huevos benidictos con carne) . . En fin, en vez de devolver la comida quité el jamón. Antes de salir el camarero me preguntó si quería algún condimento. Las palabras reales fueron: «¿Quería sal o pimienta?». Respondí que sí, pero noté que mientras comía no me dieron condimentos. Nuestras bebidas fueron servidas, más calientes que las bebidas anteriores. El personal fue visto charlando en el bar mientras parecía ocupado. Nos dimos cuenta de que no se limpiaban mesas, ni limpieza de la casa, se llevaba a cabo la limpieza. Yo diría que había al menos 3/4 o posiblemente más, personal en turno o en el lugar. Mientras comía, los dos notamos las moscas adentro, no se notaron zappers ya que unos pocos se veían claramente y en un momento noté que el personal observaba cómo las machacábamos. Lol. . . Soy un no fumador, y preferiría que los fumadores estuvieran en un área designada, ya que la segunda mano, el humo pasivo, no era el mejor mientras comía, entrando. Mientras subíamos al coche nos dimos cuenta de que la cartelería anunciaba horas de cóctel, descuentos para estudiantes, que parecerían atractivos ya que parecía barato y alegre.

The irony of this review is that I was literally in Bristol to write reviews of bars & restaurants for a US publication. Unfortunately, my experience was tainted by the fact that my jacket (with sunglasses & personal belongings) was stolen during a 10-minute period of me going to the bathroom & dance floor. I admit the staff was empathetic, but they were unable or unwilling to use the security cameras to verify or investigate the theft. I was simply provided with a response of: “Sorry”. What is the point of having security cameras, if not for investigating a crime committed against one of their patrons? They took my information (but apparently based on the manager response-did not keep it or notify the management! ) offered to get back to me in the morning, which was obviously too late to have any effect on the crime. I know I was at fault for leaving my jacket behind, but I must warn anyone that frequents this bar that theft is a serious problem. Be careful and don’t repeat my mistake at this establishment.

El mejor lugar en Gloucester Road. Ali y su equipo son siempre muy servicial y amable. Recomiendo a tanta gente allí. Lo mejor es que una vez que saben tu nombre siempre se dirigen a ti por tu nombre. La comida siempre es buena y cualquier problema se resuelve rápidamente. Me encanta Ali Laura y el equipo

Kudos to the barman today who was a hero and kindly made two Virgin Bloody Mary’s this morning despite them not being on the menu. He could have easily stuck to the listed drinks but was very kind in taking the time to be flexible and whip these up. Thank you!

Really like this place, great early for a coffee/breakfast/beer and then livens up later at night. Bouncers are friendly and do their job when needed. Service could be better but it's hard to smile when you are probably hungover!

Incredibly rude bouncers on the saturday night I visited. Showed one my ID and they demanded my wallet, I asked if it was because they needed to check my card for my name to match and if so did they want my card, they then responded only if I was going to give them my pin, the other bouncer then shouted in my face "give him your wallet now" I asked if this was a joke, neither responded and they gave my id back and and told me to go in. I've worked in hospitality and I understand the concept of banter, but this was just straight up rude, did not come across as a joke and unnecessary. The bouncers should still be required to treat people with respect and professionalism.

Had an evening meal and a breakfast at the Blue Lagoon. Both meals were fantastic.

I found the Blue Lagoon open today on New Years day 2024, a total surprise yet very welcome as no where else was open considering the day! I took to having a Bacon & Egg sandwich on Sour Dough with a Latte and cold drink! As always the staff are friendly and accommodating, as well as it being a fantastic music venue that hosts Lives Musicians of all Genres. Happy New Year everyone! from Misty Drew

Drinks standard bristol price. Music there is good for getting drunk and singing along to as usually have cover bands

Ordered a Stella Artois pint which came absolutely flat. I asked my mates to try it and they agreed with me. When I went to take it back, they just "repoured it onto another glass" very dissappointed with the pint quality. Should probably change the carbonating gas more often.

I love their eggs bendicted and the little plates. It has a great atmosphere and the staff are lovely.

This place was a Plan B for a Sunday roast and it didn't disappoint. There was a wait but all staff were friendly and the roast definitely in the better half I've tried. The pork belly was proper melt in the mouth stuff, the cauliflower cheese nice and creamy, the carrots/parsnips seasoned/glazed well, the gravy delicious. If I were to pick holes, the Yorkshire pud could've been a little doughier and perhaps the cabbage/leek could've had a bit more zhuzh, but that's just me, having tried many a roast in Brizzle. Pleasant ambiance for a Sunday and having a cheeky gander at the general menu, there's enough here to tempt us back in future.

I work with young adults with learning difficulties I took a young guy here for food and his first beer the food was great but the staff were fantastic from the bouncers to the bar staff really made an effort him made him feel special. Thank you very much.

Good for music and drinks but you seriously need to sort out the toilets, they were disgusting at 8.30pm!!! It was like a flood in there and stuff all over the floor. To the point we left and went somewhere else! They were as bad last tkme we visited too. Shame as it good for a drink and a little dance!

Food was very tasty, we had the nachos and fish tacos. However my friend and I felt horrible afterwards and were sick the day after. Be careful eating here :(

Have breakfast here at least twice a month! Never let us down, alsways gourmet food and great coffee. Staff are amazing

Good venue but it’s a shame the security that represent them let them down. Spent the best part of 2 hours being harassed by one of the doormen. At first seemed friendly, but gradually became super persistent in trying to get a phone number off my friend who was significantly younger looking than him. He then kept asking for her social media handles and kept flashing a Snapchat code at her. Kept coming over to our table. We alerted another member of security and he was fantastic, he grabbed the manager and we explained what happened and she told us he would be moved inside. The staff handled the situation brilliantly, but for the actions of this particular doorman, I would not return which is a shame as I did enjoy this venue!

The Blue Lagoon has a slightly dodgy reputation among Bristolians. But in this Tripadvisor’s experience it offered a pleasantly shady spot to sit on its front terrace the August lunchtime I visited, a good cold Stella and an ok burger and chips. Friendly service.

Came here to watch a live band. Really great atmosphere and reasonable prices. Bar staff very friendly too. The highlight of my trip to Bristol.

The bread was a bit soggy on my smoked salmon amd scrambled egg on toast today but I still liked it, the service was excellent as always and the drink was very nice, sorry about mentioning that soggyness and I'm not blaming the chef or anyone else but sometimes I wonder how staff in these places are gonna know if they've got something wrong, its the first time I've noticed this issue here and if it is an issue at all I'm sure it can get sorted, no hard feelings I hope also I do understand people might just not mind having it like this.

Had the most delicious roast Sunday dinner. Pork belly, yorkshires, a selection of vegetables that were beautifully flavoured. Service was fast and the food was hot. Highly recommended!

Went in today for the pop up Sunday roast - 😊 very happy the whole meal was cooked to perfection. Option of three sizes and wow I had the two meat option with chicken and beef and it was plenty! Service amazing great prices and great staff, the new cook in the kitchen is amazing, great conversationalist and epic cook Thank you. .

Popped in for the Sunday roast - absolutely sensational. Simon was interactive friendly and very easy going. One of the best roast dinners I've had in a while. Will definitely be back.

Came in for breakfast today, I was a bit let down at first because the food was just taking a while and we werent really sure why as it wasn't too busy. The waitstaff at least were very accomodating and tried to update us whenever possible, they even offered us a free drink while we waited which we declined because we were saving room! When the food finally arrived it was tasty, and the atmosphere was nice, loved the latino music at this place! We will be back, next time in the evening to try some cocktails.

Waited over 1h for a breakfast when the pub wasn't even busy. 2 of us went to the bar and the person working there completely ignored us. We were the only ones waiting, he saw us and wasn't doing much else, he just acted like we didn't exist. Ended up leaving, defo don't go for food/in the day. So much more went wrong too. In response to the reply below. It wasnt just a long wait, it was a shambles. Staff actually came and asked one individual if he still wanted his food. Was almost laughable. And we were served a coca cola that was orange with no flavour. There were 2 staff members at the bar one was on the phone for part of it. The OTHER one actively ignored us and then went to serve someone before us, so that's been twisted.

Went here for breakfast... Waited 1 hour, and had our meals served after other people who ordered 10 minutes after us. Loud music at 11am whilst trying to eat the breakfast. Maybe ok for a drink but food 👎 Sorry

Came in for lunch today and was pleasently surprised the food was delicious especially the shepards pie. Staff were really attentive and looked after us.

Visited The Blue Lagoon today for a not cheap Sunday Lunch .. the vegetables were extremely hard also I think the tiny slivers of beef were a poor show .. roast potatoes looked and tasted like yesterdays potato wedges, My partners chicken breast was barely chewable.. to top it off we ordered a home cooked scotch egg to start which arrived with our roast dinner all I got was a sorry bout that!!! Good job we never ordered our dessert (in which we never stayed for £8.90 for a sticky toffee ludicrous .. ) if the rest of our food was the standard to go by…

So this is my first time here and I was really impressed. Came in the morning and we had breakfast on nice tables with soft ambient music and the staff were very friendly and rushed off their feet as it was busy at 10am. My breakfast was lovely and my work mate loved his eggs Benedict! Seen from the reviews it's a good place to come for live music and drinks so will definitely be returning sometime soon 💯👍🏻

DO NOT GO FOR BREAKFAST Waited 45 minutes for coffee 1 hour and 15 minutes for breakfast- the menu said sourdough bread and poached eggs received white toast with fried egg, floors were sticky and the whole place stank of beer All in all pretty bad would NOT recommend

We had a really bad experience on Fri 12th Aug at The Blue Lagoon and it spoilt the whole night for us. My partner was subjected to a very heavy handed security handbag search. This happened after the point of entry and her handbag was rifled through by bullish security staff wearing no gloves and more importantly had no respect. When my partner complained about their behaviour she was set upon by two other security staff who hurled abuse at her. The manageress then offered us the minimal lip service and said she would review the security policy. To top it all off we then witnessed three security staff eject a young defenceless student by throwing over the payment to the extent that his head hit a parked car. After witnessing this and experiencing the very unnecessary security behaviour we do not intend to ever go to the Blue Lagoon again. We wil also never recommend the Blue Lagoon to any one who's simply looking for an enjoyable night out on the Gloucester Road. Shame on you Blue Lagoon and your bullish security staff.

Recently visited Bristol and was told to go here. Could not recommend against it enough. The female bar tender who seemed to be the manager (think I heard someone call her Laura) was extremely rude to every customer I heard her speak to. She was extremely off putting & I recommend her against bar tending.

So I ordered my food with my friends in fact I ordered before one of them I had to wait ages for my food and all my friends had finished by the time mine had arrived which is actually really awkward if you think about it because it meant they all had to watch me eat I was highly disappointed with this service I shall never be returning

English breakfast, 1 Coffee, endroit sympa, souvenirs...

Very friendly woman greeted us and took our order... I ordered the Brisket dirty fries..and wasn't disappointed... It was heaven on a plate... The taste was amazing, absolutely mouthwatering... Highly recommend eating here. We will be back soon.

Disappointed to find out the big light skinned doorman (Donell or Darnell sorry cant remember his name) has been let go! He did really well dealing with numerous incidents stopping lots of troublemakers at the Blue Lagoon. I don't understand why Ali would let him go when he made everyone feel safe in there.

Excellent service and good beer selection and great outdoor space to sit! I gave them 4 stars as ghe benches on the wall, in outdoor seating, was just underneath pigeons (read bird poo). Even though there was the usual spiky deterrents the birds still managed to reduce outdoor seating.

This place was absolute joke day light Robbery at its finest the cocktails were 9£ ARE YOU JOKING !!!! The size wasn’t even a pint all foam not happy #sad #lookslikespit

I had a full English breakfast on Saturday morning. It was one of the best breakfasts I have had. Excellent quality and piping hot, I often find bought breakfasts to be a little to cold for me. The staff were friendly and really helpful.

Can't not find any reason not to like the awesome blue lagoon missed the Sunday roast as sold out however thanks to Laura recommendation the steak was delicious
