Catered for a group of 16 of us, which included small children, We pre ordered food a couple of day before. All the food was amazing and such great friendly staff and service Definitely recommend The Blue Anchor for a group booking. Thank you

Sadly tonight the tone of the staff was shocking, the lady at the bar was extremely rude... we didnt stay for our planned dinner. The grumpy mole 400yards away was friendly and the food was excellent!!

Lovely little place to eat, we stopped off after a day out at Boxhill Park, great staff & very friendly, nice atmosphere, food was amazing, good selection of drinks, didn’t have enough space for dessert, but hey maybe next time.

Excellent food and very good service. Spent an enjoyable and leisurely lunch there. Highly recommended. July 2022 - Back again twice in the last month. Continue to be very impressed. We tend to have several starters rather than a main course - that way we get to sample more of the excellent food! I can recommend the scallops, the pepper squid, the duck parfait, and the king prawns. The service as usual was faultless - from the time we came in to the end. Congratulations to Maeve and her colleagues for such a well run operation! October 2024 - Back again for birthday celebration - again excellent food and superb service. This is an extremely well run pub and restaurant!

Good ambience, allows dogs in the bar and has some dog treats on the side as well as a selection of board games. extensive menu. food was not bad, not amazing. service very very slow. arrived at 7:45 and it took until 9pm to get mains and we only had a pizzette for starter which we ate in seconds (v tasty)

Been going to Blue Anchor Tadworth for 35 years, as a young couple, as a couple with baby and the young son, and now as retired couple with adult son. The food and service has always been excellent at every stage of our life. Great staff and very family friendly, and dog friendly. Love it 👍👍

Staff were lovely and friendly. The menu had a great selection including a variety of options for vegetarians (which weren’t faux meat) which was really appreciated by my mum who often struggles eating out in pubs. She thoroughly enjoyed her vegetarian meal and the rest of the food was great too.

Lovely birthday meal for my wife with the family and dog. Everyone enjoyed the food and a great menu and some different vegetarian options which was nice to see. Good size kids meals especially the kids roast. Great wine and drinks selection, overall a really good experience and would easily recommend and go back.

We visited yesterday 21/08/24 for lunch From start to finish I thought the service was absolutely fantastic. The waitress we had was very friendly and always had a smile on her face, I didn’t catch her name unfortunately but she was amazing! The guys on the bar were super friendly too! I think his name was Max :) always appreciate friendly people! I was very surprised how quickly we got served our food as well, and oh my word, the quality was incredible, I had the sausage mash and green beans, and my grandad the gammon egg and chips, we both agreed it was delicious. Compliments to the chef! I thought the atmosphere of the place was lovely as well and all the staff were very friendly and served with a smile. I’d definitely recommend this place! What a wonderful pub it is, I’d definitely visit again the next time I’m in Tadworth. Well done :)

Started off really well and then once we received our meals, specifically the roast beef, it went down hill fast! The potatoes were greasy, soft and rubbery to cut through, had to order veg at extra cost and then the beef was red, tough, grisly and totally not edible. When you are paying between £19:95 and £21:95 for a meal you expect better. When we complained the manager was defensive, rude and unwilling to offer a discount and point blank refused a refund. I was really looking forward to spending my birthday here, but this whole experience totally ruined. Such a shame that due to the manager’s attitude that I will neither return or recommend The Blue Anchor in Tadworth!

One of the worst roast dinners I've had. The beef was really tough i couldn't eat it and the potatoes were hard and chewy, what's worse is that when we tried to give feedback to the manager she was rude and argumentative. Absolutely never going back nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Bought a dish with allergies for my son, they served him the wrong dish, my son came very close to eating the food cooked with the allergens . Managers explanation - "oh the staff that served it isn't allergy trained and has only been here for a short while". Firstly why is he serving the food without the correct risk assessments and secondly what a poor explanation. Could of been much worse had we not caught on. Secondly absolute shambolic staff.

Had a couple of beers here in a very pleasant atmosphere in the early evening. Visited again early April for a couple of drinks, still really good. Worth a visit! Still good.

Really enjoyable dinner for 4. Good service, delicious food - steak and merlot pie, lamb shank, lamb rump, fillet steak - and yummy desserts (especially Sticky Toffee Pudding with ginger ice cream!)

Second time we’ve been here and have to say we love it here,great food and a good selection of drinks,table service was brilliant especially by our waiters and especially Harry,thank you Blue Anchor would definitely recommend and will definitely return and soon hopefully.

Came for Saturday lunch to try out as we had been to the Dukes head down the road. We tried sitting outside but the seats were so low and not very comfortable so went inside to eat instead. Waiters aftershave a bit over powering but staff very good. Both my partner had a hankering for fish and chips. Not quite as good as the Dukes head but still very nice. Fish did not seem as plump but the batter was lovely and crispy.

Had a take away . Orded beef Sunday lunch . Got 1 small slice of beef . Really poor . Nothing like the last time a few weeks ago .

Just had a lovely 3 course lunch. Very reasonably priced, really nice steak sandwich, and friendly professional service in a nicely presented pub. Couldn’t ask for more - and my son was paying!!

This is a good hearty pub, nice and friendly. The food was expensive, but tasted great with great presentation so was worth it.

Lack of staff and obviously because I was a single eater decided that I wasn't worth spending any attention on. Left waiting, and waitress honestly couldnt say if I could have a table. Completely flustered and then got the hump when i asked if there's a table available. Do not go if the sun's shining - they can't cope. I definitely won't be back. So rude.

From booking to entry, all very easy. The service was very good and at no time did we get rushed. The food was excellent both in presentation and taste and piping hot. The offer was very good and so the overall bill was great value even with wine.

Visited The Blue Anchor today from a friend’s recommendation as we had a family member visiting from overseas. We do not live in Tadworth but I’m delighted to say our car journey was worth the trip! Evie, John & Elton Thank you for a brilliant evening and for looking after us so well. The food we had was wonderful. Evie, John & Elton were really helpful and a joy to meet - they made our evening feel special and that was before the yummy food arrived 😁👍

Don't order the seafood linguine. It was probably the most bland dish I have ever eaten in my life. The chorizo was anaemic, there was no taste to the sauce and the linguine was overcooked. However all other meals looked nice. The deserts are also very small for the price.

Delicious food served in a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere. All of my guests commented on how much they enjoyed the food and drinks which were served by your very helpful and friendly staff . Overall a most enjoyable experience, to be repeated!

Nice local place to go for a meal out. Lamb main was superb. Desserts were OK but quite expensive for portion size. Very small poached pear and a bit too hard for my liking. Nevermind, just try something else next time. Warm welcome and good service as always. Thank you Blue Anchor ⚓

A great place for lunch or dinner! We have been back many times to try some things from the new menu. Try the steak sandwich or dirty burger ! Always served by Max or Elise or both of them. Thank you for all of the lovely meals.

Great place for an evening meal before all my friends went back to STN via plane. The waiter was very nice giving my child a straw and all my friends no straw. (They had a joke about that.) Food was very nice the steak was perfect at Medium Rare. They could not do much better. The only thing they need to improve is how loud it is my son and friends weren’t very happy about how loud other people children were. 4.4 stars over all!

Not been here for a while but food great and service super by friendly staff

Okay.. Had many nice meals here but tonight was sadly not one if those meals. The issue was with both starters one costing £12.95 (Scallops) yes.... £12.95! So both starters ( the other being a measly mushroom portion) had cold spots through out. Not what I expected. Politely this was pointed out to our waitress ( who was very nice throughout our visit) who said the classic "I'll pass that on to the kitchen" Sorry not good enough. We paid near £100 for our meals and it was let down by 2nd rate starters. I'll let the kitchen know doesn't cut it... If you're visiting soon, maybe steer clear of the scallop starter.

Excellent food and all staff very pleasant and helpful.The only thing that spoilt it was the area we sat in was very grubby and dirty chairs but assured by a lovely young man that they were going to deal with this problem imminently. Apart from that everything was great and have already booked again albeit at a different area! Thanks guys

Really lovely experience. Family of 5 of us visited, I have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal so suggest it for a family meal. Everyone enjoyed the service and the food. No faults atall. Everyone is welcoming and nothing is a problem.

Returning customers looking forward to a nice Sunday evening meal. We both had the fish and chips. Next to no fish in wife’s meal, predominantly greasy batter. Mine had some fish within the greasy batter but it was very soggy and tasteless. In fairness, pub knocked off cost of wife’s meal.

Went into the Blue Anchor on spec on a Monday lunchtime with my wife. We ordered a main meal and a drink each. The service was good. My wife ordered the crispy duck noodle salad and was very pleased with it, the number of ingredients and the quantity. I ordered the steak and Malbec pie. It was a fully enclosed short crust pastry pie. The crust was very thick , too thick and the filling consisted of only 2 pieces of steak and the rest was a thick gravy. The meal also came with a small portion of mash and a few tender stem broccoli spears and green beans. It was very disappointing. The other disappointing aspect was the pint of soda and lime at £2.45 and a small bottle of spring water £3.70. We also thought that the meals were overpriced especially the £18.75 for the pie. The atmosphere was okay with quite a few tables taken, the toilets were clean but there was no hot water in either the gents or the ladies.

It was a family birthday celebration on a very busy Sunday afternoon but the service as usual was very slick and professional. The staff are so welcoming and friendly particularly Max who was looking after our table. A very professional and helpful member of the staff who the management should be very proud of. Exquisite Sunday roast the only thing I would say is, it should come with more veg at the price they charge instead of having to pay for it as an extra.

Elise, serving us, was so kind and friendly - when my 6yo daughter found her pizza too crispy Elise came over and suggested they make another, which was extremely gratefully received. My 9yo son even got an extra pizza as well. Five star service!

Used to be one of my favourite place when I wanted to escape from centre London. I came beginning of the week for dinner with my family and parents in law as I wanted to celebrate their trip to London for the first time. At the beginning we had a nice welcome from the host and offered us a nice table next to the fire place (exactly what we were looking for) so we were already exited. At that time we were the only table dining but we were find very difficult to have attention from the staff. They were just standing at the counter chatting, showing us their back and the worst part was that one of the waiter have removed something from her shoes without washing hands after that. We needed to call them many times before they could give us a bit of consideration however. The food quality was not that great as used to be. We ordered pork belly with scallops, the meet was very dry and scallops were not that fresh, probably stock from the weekend. My son have ordered also burger but we returned back to the waiter as its was not well done cooked even if we asked for it. However, the host came back to our table and apologised for the inconvenience and for our experience and remove few items from the bill. I have appreciated that but is not what I was looking for. It's a shame to have received that kind of service and quality food in a such a beautiful location. I hope you will improve your standards again.
