Seated promptly and served by a lovely young man, Harry P. Food was great but really, it was Harry that drove the necessity to write a review. He’s a valuable asset to your team.

Nice local place to go for a meal out. Lamb main was superb. Desserts were OK but quite expensive for portion size. Very small poached pear and a bit too hard for my liking. Nevermind, just try something else next time. Warm welcome and good service as always. Thank you Blue Anchor ⚓

A great place for lunch or dinner! We have been back many times to try some things from the new menu. Try the steak sandwich or dirty burger ! Always served by Max or Elise or both of them. Thank you for all of the lovely meals.

Great place for an evening meal before all my friends went back to STN via plane. The waiter was very nice giving my child a straw and all my friends no straw. (They had a joke about that.) Food was very nice the steak was perfect at Medium Rare. They could not do much better. The only thing they need to improve is how loud it is my son and friends weren’t very happy about how loud other people children were. 4.4 stars over all!

Really lovely experience. Family of 5 of us visited, I have eaten here many times and never had a bad meal so suggest it for a family meal. Everyone enjoyed the service and the food. No faults atall. Everyone is welcoming and nothing is a problem.

Came for dinner this evening with my family of 4 and the food was insanely delicious 👌🏼👌🏼 our server Evie was so friendly and bubbly and all in all made for a fantastic dinner out would definitely recommend.

We went for Sunday lunch. Berry, our waiter was excellent and very welcoming. They were very happy for my elderly Mum to have a child portion of chicken roast. I had the sea bass which was beautifully cooked and piping hot. Husband had the prawn, crab and chorizo linguine. It was the best he'd ever had. We will be back.

Me and my partner really enjoyed our meal tonight. Served by the lovely Maya the service, food and atmosphere were fantastic. We would definitely go back and try other dishes. Plenty of parking spaces as well.

Returning customers looking forward to a nice Sunday evening meal. We both had the fish and chips. Next to no fish in wife’s meal, predominantly greasy batter. Mine had some fish within the greasy batter but it was very soggy and tasteless. In fairness, pub knocked off cost of wife’s meal.

Went into the Blue Anchor on spec on a Monday lunchtime with my wife. We ordered a main meal and a drink each. The service was good. My wife ordered the crispy duck noodle salad and was very pleased with it, the number of ingredients and the quantity. I ordered the steak and Malbec pie. It was a fully enclosed short crust pastry pie. The crust was very thick , too thick and the filling consisted of only 2 pieces of steak and the rest was a thick gravy. The meal also came with a small portion of mash and a few tender stem broccoli spears and green beans. It was very disappointing. The other disappointing aspect was the pint of soda and lime at £2.45 and a small bottle of spring water £3.70. We also thought that the meals were overpriced especially the £18.75 for the pie. The atmosphere was okay with quite a few tables taken, the toilets were clean but there was no hot water in either the gents or the ladies.

It was a family birthday celebration on a very busy Sunday afternoon but the service as usual was very slick and professional. The staff are so welcoming and friendly particularly Max who was looking after our table. A very professional and helpful member of the staff who the management should be very proud of. The food was very good and nicely presented. Thank you to all the staff for a very enjoyable occasion.

Exquisite Sunday roast the only thing I would say is, it should come with more veg at the price they charge instead of having to pay for it as an extra.

Elise, serving us, was so kind and friendly - when my 6yo daughter found her pizza too crispy Elise came over and suggested they make another, which was extremely gratefully received. My 9yo son even got an extra pizza as well. Five star service!

Used to be one of my favourite place when I wanted to escape from centre London. I came beginning of the week for dinner with my family and parents in law as I wanted to celebrate their trip to London for the first time. At the beginning we had a nice welcome from the host and offered us a nice table next to the fire place (exactly what we were looking for) so we were already exited. At that time we were the only table dining but we were find very difficult to have attention from the staff. They were just standing at the counter chatting, showing us their back and the worst part was that one of the waiter have removed something from her shoes without washing hands after that. We needed to call them many times before they could give us a bit of consideration however. The food quality was not that great as used to be. We ordered pork belly with scallops, the meet was very dry and scallops were not that fresh, probably stock from the weekend. My son have ordered also burger but we returned back to the waiter as its was not well done cooked even if we asked for it. However, the host came back to our table and apologised for the inconvenience and for our experience and remove few items from the bill. I have appreciated that but is not what I was looking for. It's a shame to have received that kind of service and quality food in a such a beautiful location. I hope you will improve your standards again.

Good food, good atmosphere filled with smell of a fireplace. Some kind of extraordinary, especially if it's your first time in Great Britain.

I visted Blue Anchor during sightseeing trip to London with my family. And we all were delighted. Place is beautifull and atmosphere was great. All of my family agreed that food was delicious. I had hamburger and it was one of the best I've ever eaten (those sauces!). Another plus is that place is not expensive at all, especially consdering food quality:)

Had the set menu, good value, only one veggie option which I had, baked celeriac, and it wasn’t that inspiring, wasn’t cooked enough and the meal just generally lacked a bit of flavour. Dessert was mini one with coffee included, i had the crumble, great disappointment. Topping was chewy and tasted stale. Service was really good at the start, helpful and friendly but then slowed right down. Restaurant nicely decorated. I won’t be rushing back..

The starters were lovely, but the main courses and desserts were really disappointing. The staff were great, but sadly that's not enough for me to want to return. I think we'll eat at the pub next door next time.

As a wheelchair user access was good both to the resturant and disabled WC facilities. The staff were professional and friendly. The table was easy to access and was both clean and well laid out. Both drinks and food order were taken promptly . Similarly the drinks and food arrived in an acceptable time frame. Unfortunately the food quality was very variable. The wife's fish in particular smelt and tasted unpleasant, as if it were frozen or several days old. Most of the rest of the food was over cooked even the chips which were like bullets. Both the burger and gammon were therefore very dry even the pineapple seemed as if it had been out in the Bermudan sun for several days. The soup and pate were, however, good.

What a fabulous place. Meal was delicious and the staff were impeccable. Will definitely be going back. I had the Sea Bass and my friend had the lamb. And the mini dessert and shot was a great choice.

Quick service to get you seated, menu is little limited in variety of food, had to wait for the food, tasty but small portion for the price. Clean and free parking.

Rhiannon and Jai was excellent, they help me decide on my food and Rob was very helpful on what I wanted to drink served the right lemon with my Pepsi could not fault the blue anker team :)

Wanted to take advantage of the pub’s 50% off main’s January deal and so pleased we did. Really good choice of food and competitively priced (even without the offer). Top marks for the service from Maya. When we arrived had been allocated a table out on a limb right by toilets (tip - request NOT to sit on this area when booking) but Maya moved us to a much nicer table in the heart of things. Service was very attentive without being over the top. Glass of flat Prosecco replaced without any issue. Only slight disappointment, on a personal note, was the ubiquitous Landlord and Doom Bat as ale choices. Would be nice to see local breweries supported but in fairness this is probably more down to M & B than the pub itself. Would definitely recommend and will be returning.

Had a couple of beers here in a very pleasant atmosphere in the early evening. Visited again early April for a couple of drinks, still really good. Worth a visit!

I always think I get good value for money coming to the blue anchor. The trio of desserts was spectacular! I don't normally order desserts in restaurants because they tend to be a bit rubbish, but these three desserts were amazing! I also love the menu as there are lots of options for people not eating meat, and I love the beyond meat burger. The staff were also super nice. Overall a great evening out!

Awful experience from start to finish! Completely incompetent young staff who quite frankly couldn’t give a damn. Had to flag our “waitress” to ask for order to be taken, more drinks orders, plates to be cleared & for the bill. It’s not a cheap pub...

Met with some friends for food, drinks and a catch up. Had not eaten here before and friends chose the venue. Food was great, staff friendly and helpful. I had the Diabolo pizza, which was a decent size with a generous helping of toppings. Will visit again if I am in the area.

7 of us had dinner on Christmas Day and it was lovely. The staff were very attentive and the service excellent. Everyone loved the food and I particularly liked the celeriac steak.

This place was recommended to us by a trusted friend so we had high expectations. We thought it was just ok, by the end of the meal. Although it was a nice experience overall, some of the food was pretty disappointing. The staff were very nice and welcoming and the place itself is lovely and cosy. The menu is varied and all the drinks were enjoyable. We had some mulled wine and then a couple of cocktails. And my daughter enjoyed her hot chocolate. Some of the food was the main let down. We had scallops and the crab rillete for starters. The crab rillete was nice the scallops however was just ok, can't workout if it just needed a tad bit more cooking. The kids mains pasta was a bit lacking in sauce which wasnt very tasty anyway, they doused it in cheese to be able to eat it. The turkey roast main was a major let down. The potatoes were not just hard, they were rubbery hard, not sure how many times they had been cooked but they certainly weren't freshly cooked. Not sure why we had a cold cauliflower puree as part of the trimmings....but not my thing. Everything else on the plate was just ok and didn't redeem the meal. The steak, which we had with potato dauphinoise (instead of chips) was probably the best thing we ordered, cooked just as ordered and the dauphinoise was excellent. The poached pear for dessert was also pretty tasteless, I guess poached pear is not meant to be sweet but its also not meant to taste like nothing....no flavour whatsoever. The ice cream and raspberry crumb almost saved it....almost. Would I go again, maybe...it is a nice family time but definitely trying other dishes, maybe I just picked the wrong ones on the wrong day.

We had a very pleasant table and food and drink was good as usual. The service was good, given how busy they were. When the bill arrived we found we had been overcharged by £50. In fairness, when we took it back they said they had discovered the mistake and immediately gave us the correct bill. Our waitress, Ellie, was always attentive and welcoming. I would recommend the Blue Anchor.

Had lots of great lunches but visited for dinner Sunday afternoon and it wasn’t great. Only 3 of us but got one meal completely wrong so they had to wait. Love my veg al dente but whole parsnip with the roast was inedible. It was busy but plenty of staff but we had to ask for everything. Shame.
