Red Lion in Reigate and Banstead

Catching up on reviews, I popped down for the Carol service evening in December. Pub was packed! Lovely open fire, they had mulled wine on the go as a seasonal treat, but the bar generally has a great selection of drinks! Staff were all friendly and efficient as it was really busy, but we weren't waiting long! The food was so nice! I've eaten there a few times and it's full of flavour! We all got given booklets with the lyrics, which was a nice touch. It was really well organised. We had a really lovely girls evening and would come back for similar events.

Staff and other customers were very rude and threatening saying they would hurt me and were just downright disrespectful

Being served Thai food in an old man's pub was weird lol. The food was very good though, good price and great quality. The waiter was nice but brought us the bill before checking if we wanted pudding which seemed a bit premature considering it was dead for a Saturday night.

Good customer service and atmosphere. Great tasting food but much lesser portions as compared to other Thai restaurants.

Regular favourite and after a long time due to working from home I returned to find its is just as great. Roaring fireplace, friendly staff, good selection of drinks and amazing Thai and pub classics.

Love the chicken sweet and sour. Great place for an impromptu date night. Went home very full. Service quick and very reasonable price.

Inconsistent service and prices - round 1: £13+ for a medium wine and pint of Carling; round 2: same drinks, but charged £14.56. Don't frequent that often, but this experience has confirmed why, and equally why we won't be back!

The food is delicious. Every time I come, I'm never disappointed. It's delicious.

Great pub, brilliant staff, really accomadating, the only thing that stopped a higher mark, was the price of the drinks, can't believe how much they have gone up exuberant really, it's now a pub that doesn't know what post code area it is in, it's Redhill. The pubs in Reigate are cheaper. Think this needs to be looked at to keep the customers leaving, as I know some have for this reason.

Best authentic thai food in area, friendly bar staff with a relaxed atmosphere. I visit the red lion frequently, the Thai food is amazing and completely under sold/known...well known Reigate establishments don't come close to the quality of food. The bar staff are friendly and accommodating.....outside area is good and a lovely fire in the winter months.

It was a bad experience I won't be back. The lady at the bar refused to change the TV to Rugby because she said there were people watching horse racing. NOT ONE PERSON WAS WATCHING but too much trouble to accommodate customers! No wonder there were 5 people there. Stay away they don't want customers!!!

Bought a crispy chicken burger and it was delicious! Chips were perfectly cooked and the service and speed of delivery was perfect Staff were lovely as well Definitely encourage anyone to come and try the chicken burger

Wonderful Welcome --met some regulars just as friendly --used to be a regular myself back in the 80's!! Love the way it's been kept Traditional -very clean restroom immaculate-will return when kitchen reopens -am sure it will be worth the wait !!---

Great choice of drinks and an amazing Thai menu!

Been to the Red Lion quite a few times now for a lunchtime meal and drink. The food is of the top quality both traditional food and specialist food. The menu is extensive and the food very good. On the 21st of February we had a meal for 11 number people, Graham reserved an area for us all. In my view apart from good food and service, the pricing is very reasonable. Wee worth a visit

Young staff who were absolutely fantastic. A real credit to the venue's. Me & my dog were made to feel so welcome . When times are tough a great service is priceless . Visit to see how good staff create a good atmosphere 👍

Arrived at 8pm and was promptly taken to our table with a friendly greeting. The Pub seemed very busy but not loud at all with a very nice vibe. We ordered various starters and mains including soft shell crab, aromatic duck and chicken satays just a few to mention. The food was incredible undoubtedly best Thai food I’ve ever had. The pub decor was very stylish with all the charm of a traditional London Pub with iconic photos and red leather upholstery. There was a good mix of people and the atmosphere couldn’t faulted. I would highly recommend this place especially for a party or special occasion your guests will not be disappointed.

Very nice pub... good Thai food

The food was amazing, however service was very slow. Not my idea of a great night as was soooo noisy, not sure why people have to talk so loudly. We had a 12 year old and a 4 year old and this did not stop the man on the table next to us dropping the F word constantly which really wasn't pleasant.

Fantastic Thai food. Good value for money, we had the set menu for £20 each. Great options and very tasty, eat every bit of it. Real fire, very cosy.

The two ladies that were working there this evening were both really lovely and accommodating. It was the best customer service that I've had in a long time, something that a lot of businesses don't seem to value anymore sadly. I don't live in Redhill, but I hope to come back to your pub again soon!

Service was top notch but very expensive cost me £27 that is a lot and that's only me lamb shank was good well cooked but I've had better and a lot cheaper too and Portion was pretty small if they gave a bigger portion and charged a little cheaper maybe £18-£20 max I would come back but it was good food and nice service maybe a birthday treat sort of thing

We had a booked event here, our fourth of the week in different locations. We've never been looked after so well, I would recommend the red lion to everyone, good beer and dog friendly.

Hadn’t been to the Red Lion for a while and so pleased I went this weekend. They had a great band on and a rocking atmosphere. Helped by the managers choice of music. Might be sad to say but best night out in a while! The Thai green curry was good too. Staff were pleasant as always.

Booked this restaurant as very near my disabled daughter's supported living. Web site led us to believe that it did English and Thai food. We asked about disabled access as my daughter in a wheelchair. Was told there were steps but there were people there to help us up and down them. When we got there we managed the step ok and were offered a choice of 2 tables. Everything fine until we were told English food not available in the evening, only Thai but they would do us some chips. We ordered some drinks which were brought to the table. Then the man from the Thai restaurant came and took our order. We asked for a jug of water to go with the food and this is when the attitude changed. The pub is separate to the thai restaurant, the man behind the bar who had been really friendly when we arrived just slammed our water on the table and never came near us again. The Thai food was ok but I've had far better. When it came to paying the bill, the food was separate to the drinks so I had to then leave my disabled daughter and queue at the bar to pay for the drinks. The pub is tired, not very friendly and we won't be going again, which is a shame as it's very local. As a parting shot, no help was offered to get the wheelchair back out down the steps. Poor show.

Thai food is amazing there. Authentic Thai food cooked by excellent Thai chefs and friendly Thai staff. Just as good as Thai food I ate when I lived there.

It was great to get back to a little normality and see the locals and the staff of the red lion face to face again. My friend and I decided to stay and have food from the Thai menu and thank goodness we did it was tasty, hot and well presented. The staff are friendly the service was great and it's always a pleasure to drunk here. Would always recommend a visit until next time thanks again.

Booked a table for the footie a month ago for 6 people, they put us on one of the worst seats in the house and it only sat four people. When I questioned this the staff member told us to sit on each others laps...

Really nice food presented wonderfully. Also nice seating area with heaters. Only problem was that there was a big tv on with the football so got a bit loud whilst trying to enjoy the meal

Always been my local, going downhill rapidly sadly. Nat is lovely, she's been there 7yrs or so through 3 landlords! Chef Lee has now left too which means their fab roasts are no more, hear a new Chinese could take on the kitchens. Beers gone up a lot in price, sadly the service & atmosphere gone down a lot too.

Love this pub. Just go and drink and eat. Don't take the locals bar positions. Find your own. Barstaff and locals are a sonnet to the ears. Better than reigate pubs.

Popped in whilst waiting to visit relatives. Coffee was good, mature cheese and pickle sandwich was great, chips could have been better. Staff excellent, friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, food not bad, and if you get the chance nip into the toilets they are superb!

Dining as a couple we had Liver and Bacon and a Pie. Food was ok but not great. Liver overcooked and vegetables all round bland without seasoning. Service very friendly without being really efficient considering that there were only 3 tables occupied.
