I feel harsh giving this three stars but it is a balance of cost versus experience. The venue is lovely and the menu looked really exciting. The food arrived and was very well presented. At around £20-£25 per main it should be. But...we were both underwhelmed by the flavour of both dishes. Had it been cheaper this would be 4 stars but for the money it needed more oomph. Service was great and although packed and noisy in the main bar, we had a nice seat in the window and it was pleasant. May try again and amend this but overall...slightly disappointed.

We haven’t been to the Blaise yet but used to make regular trips to eat Louise’s food when she was head chef at Harvey Nix. I can only imagine she has gotten better and better with the freedom to create her own menu. Our family have never enjoyed cooking so consistently anywhere else and look forward to the day when we can make the journey. We envy anyone who gets to go here.

We visited last year and it was excellent, so decided to revisit.....sadly, this was a very different culinary experience. The management have clearly been blinded by their success, the food wasn't anywhere near as good as the previous visit. The starter was parsnip soup, this was probably the best thing we ate, the cheese scone was delicious, the soup....not so much, £8 for a couple of shallow laddals seemed excessive. The main, roast beef....three small slices of beef (which in fairness was decent enough) a very very dry Yorkshire pudding and a sparce plate of vegetables that had been left under the lights for far too long, with literally a dribble of gravy. Pretty grim imho. Dessert, Morrocan spiced chocolate pot....one of the most disgusting things I have ever put in my mouth! It was topped with cardamom cream which was nice, but the chocolate was nigh on frozen and the tesure was grainy, almost like it was split. We won't rush back in all honesty, shame really, nice venue , nice staff, just really sub par food.

Ciertamente no volveré. Que conste que faltaba la presentación, sosa y aburrida, además de que el faisán estaba sobrecocinado. Ninguno de nosotros pudo terminar la dura y seca ofrenda. La porción compartida de fichas, sin embargo, era de primera clase.

Thank you to all the team at The Blaise Inn for making my husband’s 60th birthday celebration so special in August. We all had a 3-course meal, variety of tasty starters, mains were a beautiful, skate which was so lovely, and the Pork Belly was melt in the mouth accompanied by community sourced vegetables. We all then indulged in various yummy deserts with a lovely chocolate message on my husband’s plate to round off a wonderful even. We have eaten out here many times and love that the menu changes often, we always take friends and family there too as the pub has an amazing atmosphere, friendly staff with the bonus of a garden with shaded areas, lovely spot to enjoy the rest of the summer evening. After hearing that this venue had been recognised by the Good Food Guide, I decided to give it a try. The menu was very small and it was difficult to find anything that excited. Having chosen however, the starter of pork rillettes with olive oil toast, basically shredded pork with melba toast was fairly tasteless and served with two slices of thin brittle toast, which shattered on picking up (I thought we had seen the last of melba toast). The main course was the duck breast, which consisted of two small slices, in a sauce with a few potato slices, so thin as to be almost see through and two wedges of turnip and some dense greenery. The pudding of chocolate, Guiness and walnut was, I admit very nice and made up, somewhat, for the very poor starter and main courses. Overall, the meal was pretentious, underwhelming, disappointing and for, bread and olives, 1 starter, 2 soft drinks, 2 main courses and 2 puddings, at £100 (including a barely deserved 10% tip, not good value...with a decent bottle of wine and 2 starters, you would be looking at least about £140 for two. I can think of many venues in Bristol, that offer better choice, better food and better value, I will not be returning or recommending this venue to my friends.

Lovely little pub, though the menu looked delicious, and despite also looking lovely on the table, the taste wasn't really there. The salad starter had all the right elements, but they just didn't seem to work together. The duck was disappointingly very overcooked, dry, and tasted of liver, it was not a good dinner experience for two people. The onglet steak actually had a really nice flavour, so we were happy that it didn't need a sauce at all. Maybe on a different night, things might come together a bit better.

Pub food is getting better and better so it takes a lot to create a really memorable pub menu these days and unfortunately this wasn’t one of them (yet) but we enjoyed our evening all the same and the service was fantastic. Great spot for a Sunday roast, we had the pork belly and it was delicious and cracking nice and crunchy! Potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were crispy and you can tell homemade!! Rhubarb crumble for dessert was sweet and tangy with gorgeous custard! Would highly recommend!!

Went to bottomless brunch for a friends birthday and it was great! The staff were super attentive, Lucy in particular was amazing! The food was good and the drinks didn’t stop flowing! Thanks for a great afternoon!

Simply awesome. From entering the bar to the service and (of course) the drinks, The Milk Thistle wowed us all the way. My non-drinking partner raved about her custom non-alcoholic drink the team whipped up, calling it the 'best drink she ever had'. And my whisky-forward beverage, with mango beads (caviar) of all things... amazing. Definitely check it out if you're in the center of Bristol!

Fantastic aesthetic and lovely staff. All the food and drink served here is just that much higher quality than you'd get in a regular cafe. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options are available

Ok local pub, we went with children as the have a great outdoor park. But if you have kids I'd avoid on friday and Saturday evenings as can get a bit rowdy. Incredibly cheap food though 😋
