I love the vibe in the bar. I had a good experience, will come back.

We wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary, so chose the a la carte menu in the hope it would be something special; but sadly it was quite average, which was disappointing given the price. The service was lovely though. We had a really friendly and attentive waiter. However, we won’t be rushing back. I hope others have a better experience.

Food was really nice and just the right level of fancy for me. It’s a nice place for a quiet meal with quite a calm atmosphere. Service was on point too!

Lovely place, quite up market, prices are higher but really lovely drinks/cocktails, a friendly welcome. We really enjoyed our visit. Wheelchair friendly, there is a lift.

Went here for our 10th anniversary, treated us so well and the food was lovely.

Our daughter bought us dinner here…the food was frankly amazing and the bar equally as good. Personally I loved the decor too! We ate the fixed Menu although there are three choices to each course. Three courses and a cocktail for £30 per head - I mean amazing value. Service was great too - so much so we went back for brunch!

Not good service had to call the waiter over, not a good varity of larger only 2 and also not good variety on prosecco, very cold in there

We went to an art preview. It was sickboys show optical delusion. We were not really sure what to expect, but it was a great evening. If the food for the preview is a representation of what is standard, then you are in for a treat. We had an exceptional 5 course meal (including Sorbet). All cooked to an exceptional standard. We have eaten in many 1 and 2 start m restaurants, and this was as good. The standard of ingredients, presentation, and service was as good as the above, and from what I understand, you can get these 3 course meals from around £35. I would never have thought of eating a quality meal in a department store restaurant, but now I guess you can. This can often work out cheaper than 3 courses in a pub!@ Hey the art was great as well, good one sickboy!

Decided to come here for the festive lunch today. Husband’s meal was fine, as was my starter and main meal. Even though I’m not vegan, I decided to go for the vegan pavlova. The waitress who took my order did say it was made from potato, and they had not had many complaints but I decided to try it. I am someone that loves puddings etc and never left one unfinished, but this was the most awful dessert I have ever tasted. After two mouthfuls I could not eat anymore. It left the most awful taste in your mouth, almost to the point of a sicky taste. My husband tried and agreed. I mentioned it to the waiter that I could not eat it and I chose the panacotta instead, which was ok. I really think this should be taken off the menu. The staff were pleasant and overall a nice lunch apart from the dessert.

Not crowded for a lunchtime Seating at the bar Wine red always. Popular choice for midday. Excellent views....wine, chat and good location....positive vibes. Will definitely go again.

Staff were polite, friendly and extremely helpful. The atmosphere was lovely and relaxing.

Julio was an amazing waiter! He was the highlight of my visit. Thank you, Julio. The food was alright. I got the jerk chicken and the chicken was sooo good, but everything else was just alright. It wasn’t too busy and the staff were very attentive. They were happy to answer any questions we had. I will definitely be back.

Fantastic experience, great service and food .

Enjoyed a lunch in the bar. Enjoyed a vegan burger served with fries 🍔 it was fantastic. Service from staff was excellent and enjoyed people watching from the large window.

I absolutely love this little bar. Staff is friendly and professional. The place is clean and quiet. Me and my friend always enjoy our chats there, as this bar doesn't get rowdy. I'm pretty sure the drinks menu got more adventurous with a good selection of wines and hot drinks. Food is tasty, too. Prices are higher than your average bar, but this is the place where we treat ourselves, and overall, it's worth the price. Lovely spot to visit.

Really lovly bar,with lovly staff.the drinks and cocktails are amazing,well made with lots of care and attention.the aperol spritz and expresso martinis are fantastic.the only tiny down side,is not to miss last orders.which seems to be 50mins before closing time.but we will remember this next time we visit.highly recommend if u want a smart bar with great drinks!

I come here quite often ( in fact I chose the 10% loyalty discount using HN loyalty scheme, for the restaurant). Today, beef was delicious, as always but the whole plate of food was just warm, not hot. The dauphanise potatoe with truffle was cold and stodgy. Very disappointed and little excuse as other than 2 woman, I was the only other person in the Restaurant. Waiter, as always, was lovely, do I didn't want to make a fuss, but I expect better, if I decide it is worth returning.

Jack, accompanied by his superb team, made a stella effort in facilitating lovely afternoon. Superb service.

We’ve just had the most wonderful meal at Harvey Nichols in Bristol. The set menu was spectacular; I had 3 amazing dishes along with a glass of bubbly, all for £30. My husband and mother in law have just had dinner and all ordered of the set three course menu including glass of wine. Food was just beautiful, very tasty and well presented. Service was impeccable. I had my birthday dinner booked a few days ago, and that was the perfect choice! The food, drinks and service were exceptional. If you are looking for tasty food and good cocktails, then it's an ideal place—a lovely atmosphere with a super friendly team.

We’ve been dining here 3 times a year for 4 years but this was our last time sadly. The current menu, table set up and service has changed and gone downhill in our opinion. Instead of a nice a La carte selection, there is a selection of overpriced titbits (£11 for 6 Asparagus tips, £16 for 3 tiny scallops, lamb 3 ways for £28 - most of which was chewy and inedible - I’ve never had to discreetly dispose of anything into my napkin before!). The service was ok but it just didn’t feel special. We had plates delivered to our table which weren’t ours, placemats have disappeared, serving spoons for sharing plates were non-existent, we all ended up paying far more than we usually pay but were all very disappointed. Our server did tell us that feedback indicated that most people preferred the new menu - all 3 of us did not agree. We shall sadly be looking elsewhere for our next special meet up.

We have been regular visitors since HN opened but less so since pre-Covid when standards started to decline. The last two visits were encouraging but “Good Friday” was not so good. We arrived at the appointed time, no one at reception so we clobbered a staff member who tried to ignore us as he walked by. He pointed us towards the restaurant. We were seated and offered water by a nice lady. Although not too busy there was only one member of staff on duty, 15 mins later he said he would be two minutes as he rushed by. We were on the verge of leaving but he came just in time and apologised for the delay, we felt really sorry for him as he was so nice but had been obviously been left in the lurch. As to the menu, no longer the A La Carte but a Spring menu and a Small/Large/Sharing plates or was it a Sharing small, large sharing plates. Basically the new menu was just a mishmash of the starters and mains of the old A La Carte menu, all very confusing. The starters and dessert of the Spring Menu were good although the mains were underwhelming. My wife asked for a substitute for the Borletti beans but was offered and received nothing. No one checked backed on any of our food until we had finished and we had to pinch cutlery from the next table as we didn’t have any for our mains, no staff in sight to ask. All in all we wished we had gone to Cote or Piccolinos next door.l

Wanted to visit here for a very long time but the cost has always put me off, A bunch of friends and I had a few reasons to celebrate however and therefore I suggested this location. Although the meal was ok and the staff were polite I found the whole thing rather underwhelming.

Booked the lunch time slot on a whim and so glad we did. Opted for the winter three course deal at £28 each. Had the fish and potato croquettes, seared hake and chocolate brulee to finish, with a glass of bubbly on the side. All cooked really well and amazingly tasty. Staff were attentive and friendly, they gave us a little dessert selection as an anniversary surprise, which was a nice little touch. All in all, a real triumph, would definately book again and at that price range, not necessarily just a special occasion.

Had a coffee and cake in the bar and was disappointed by how long it took the kitchen to get the cake out. We'd finished the coffee by the time it arrived and were at the point where we were about to ask to cancel the cake. The cake (Yule log) was also quite dry. The bar tender provided great service and I don't think the delays were due to him.

On arrival we realised that the Christmas menu had some items removed and were disappointed. The manager sorted this to our satisfaction and we had an amazing meal, faultless. Thank you for a wonderful evening 😊

I have been a regular customer of HN 2nd floor bar since its openning close to 15 years ago. This is my favourite cocktail bar in Bristol. I love the knowledgeable, tentative, and yet very friendly and down to earth staff. Sadly, this afternoon’s experience was rather disappointing. Waiter had dismissive attitude, we had diffuculties drawing his attention to order drinks and pay the bill… It felt as we were in a dingy pub, which is absolutely fine if HN wants to take this route, except in that case you will not be able to justify charging £10-£12 per coctail. Pull up your socks HN!

We had a great impromptu Sunday lunch here. Service was friendly but a little slow, we didn’t mind though as we were in no rush. The roast beef was really very good and the accompanying vegetables generous. Gravy was drinkable!
