Great food I had pork Sunday dinner plus lashings of Guinness

Post wedding Sunday lunch. High quality roast beef, but the pork and chicken were very good too.

Loved it. Funky friendly pub. Didn't eat but Sunday roast looked fabulous! Kid friendly. Fab garden.

Absolutely unbelievable roast dinner, one of the best I have had out, and cracking service from the team! Perfect for a sunny afternoon!

Cozy pub, but the food is wack, a total ripoff. Tried their wings and kimchi fries, was first to order, place was quiet as hell, waited 45mins for 2 sides, small portions, food was bog standard. Came back for the roast, again, first to order, place was quiet, nearly an hour wait. The pork crackling was chewy, couldn't finish it. Heritage carrots were raw and still had the dirty tops on them. Roasties were ok, bit dry. Cauliflower cheese was five quid extra, was cold in the middle...

We went with my friend yesterday for a drink ,such a lovely place with very pleasant Anna who was serving drinks ,she went above and beyond.We were sitting on the garden ,very beautiful,cozy place.Full of light and flowers,little paradise.I will highly recommend this place ,we had a such a nice time.thank you L+D

Tiny pub with a small beer garden. They tried to make it look nice, but with a huge rat running overhead on plastic corrugating it was hard to relax. I'm not bothered by rats, but didn't really want it in my gin. Service was good and staff and customers were friendly. In reply to YOUR reply to me: I'm so glad to hear all the things you are doing, and the pest control would be a must. Review downgraded due to your response trying to tell me it was a squirrel. . In urban areas you are never far from rodents, I get it, it's difficult . I have owned many pet rats so I know exactly what one looks like. We saw it run along the wall and over the plastic, it wasn't a quick glance. Like I said I'm not bothered by them, but I don't want someone telling me I don't know what I saw. Unless it was a squirrel that had recently waxed its bushy tail and had a nose job, it was a rat! My colleague was disgusted by it as they had a fear of them. I gave a generous review with 4 stars for atmosphere. Many would have left a 1 star. I don't live locally so can't pop in.

What a lovely pub, popped in for Sunday lunch, I wanted the pork but can't tolerate garlic so couldn't have the porcetta. The chef cooked me pork belly instead, what a fabulous guy to go out of his way to do that, thank you so much. The food was amazing and delicious with big portions. my husband had the beef. Wonderful staff so friendly and helpful, a brilliant atmosphere. Well done guys

We booked a Sunday Roast for 12 people the week before, were asked to pre-order the night before and food was delicious and prompt! Lots of empty plates. Thank you all. Great central location. Spent all the time indoors because the weather was horrible but can see the outdoors bit is lovely too. Thoroughly recommended.

Wonder vegan roast, best in Bristol I would say! Land lord is brilliant too. Definitely looks a lot like Ned Flanders, but only preaches good food and beer. Much better than just okily dokily.

Delicious food in a very cosy setting - one of the best roasts in Bristol! Good vegetarian and vegan options and great selection of beers on tap. Lovely atmosphere in the huge beer garden. And great for a boogie!

Mi compañero y yo a menudo venimos aquí antes de ir a conciertos en los locales de Trinity and Exchange. La zona exterior climatizada es poco atractiva, pero el bar interior es pequeño y acogedor. Final roast of the year from the Volly. Final roast of my life at this establishment. The roast we had 4 months ago was amazing, great starters, beef cooked to perfection not too long a wait. This Sundays roast was a complete contrast, 1 hour wait for our food and when it did finally come out it looked like it had came straight out of the school kitchen. A pool of gravy, slither of beef floating about with a few cold carrots. Honestly so disappointing. Had to get a pizza from GiGi pizzeria after to satisfy my hunger. Sort it out Volly! I don’t know who was covering that day but Jesus Christ, awful.

I don't even live in Bristol anymore and this is still my favourite pub such lovely vibes especially with the outdoor area

5 stars. Great service, cool af vibe, could use some heating in the middle of the outside but we're having a great time. Also pretty cheap, 3 pints for £14, lovely lager. AND seagulllllsssss

Cosy environment inside with a larger, covered outdoor area too. Nice selection of Bristol beers and the Sunday roast looked great, although I didn't have the chance to taste it.

We got a place for Sunday lunch. The food was great, the service was really nice and the ambience was exactly as expected. We wanted to come back for dinner, but couldn't get any more space.

Great vibe, great mix of people

Great pub! Really friendly and full of character. It has a wonderful beer garden. The Sunday roast is good, the chicken and the beef are tender, the yorkshire puddings were perfect and it was well plated. The roast potatoes could be improved as they were rock solid and overfried. I'd also love if there was more gravy and veg and possibly the addition of sauces like bread sauce, mustard redcurrant jelly and trimmings such as stuffing or pigs in blankets.

One of the best pubs in Bristol. Cannot recommend higher. Has some of the best atmosphere, fantastic monthly events, and reasonable prices for town.

Updating my review because it's been a couple of years, still awesome. Staff are all lovely, the garden is cosy and well nice, everything is well decorated. Had a great roast today, if you're vegan/veggie the celeriac bangs! Great portion sizes as well

Beautifully unique venue. Caters for everyone, really good vibes and lush beer garden. I have spent many a contented eve here over the last 10 years I’ve lived in Bristol, even the years I haven’t drunk alcohol! It’s just such an inclusive space. Excellent beers on tap and friendly folks, really a gem 💎

Fantastic range of beer all kept in really good nick. I sat in the garden with friends. Lovely atmosphere & friendly service. I didn’t eat but chatting to someone on the next table they said the food was excellent. Would recommend.

I love this pub. I live in Wiltshire and visit this pub regularly. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. My dog gets fussed when she's with me and the open mic night is ace.

I fly all the way in from one of the 13 colonies just to come to Bristol so I can visit this lovely establishment. Independent. Friendly and welcoming service. Lovely patrons. Great selection of local beers and ciders. Indoor or out of doors seating (watch that one wobbly high top in the beer garden). Cheers to all the regulars and that one bloke in the corner of the bar that stares disapprovingly over his spectacles at my yank accent when I order. Sorry to interrupt your reverie mate.

What a super atmospheric and cozy place to end the day with a snack and a drink. The staff is very friendly and hospitable and they do everything they can to ensure you have a pleasant evening. Good selection of local beers, of which we even got a mini tasting. The food was also very tasty, with plenty of vegetarian options. Price-quality ratio is top! All in all a place where we will definitely come back.

Amazing pub! Great chilled atmosphere . Good service and the food was incredible. Still thinking about it! I had a perfect, mouth-watering burger. It was perfectly cooked, flavourful, and light. The perfect amount of ingredients. I normally struggle with burgers because I love them but they tend to be too heavy and I hard to digest. This one was just right! Someone told me the cuisine changes every few months. Please, bring back these burgers (2/8/2024). Definitely will be one my favourite pubs! Thank you. X

This is a quirky little pub, just away from the main city shopping centre. The main bar area is essentially just a single room, but they've added a temporary style roof and walls to enclose part of the outside spaces. They specialise in locally produced beers and change these on a regular basis. They also offer the chance to taste some of the products, which is a good way to decide what you want to drink. The pub takes pride in paying staff a genuine living wage, which means that the staff are really pleased to work there; and it shows. The food is basic, burgers, hot dogs and sides, but they are good products and well cooked / presented. A limited sized kitchen means that they sometimes take a bit longer to produce this. Note that that there is no parking at the pub; there are a few on-road spaces just a short walk away, and some multi-story car parks within a 10 minute walk. Probably not the best place for those with mobility issues, although you can get a wheelchair in the main bar. It's definitely popular with students, and a trendy kind of crowd.

I will no longer complain when my wife wants to go shopping 😀 Fantastic, friendly and welcoming service, the food was amazing, the best burger I have ever had 😋 Great value for money to boot!! If you're bored shopping and need something to give you the energy to keep going, come here, it has just what you need! I will be back!

One of my favourite pubs to visit as they have a beautiful outdoor area (with a new roof!) and have live music events running throughout the year. On top of that, they do an amazing Sunday Roast which ends at 8pm! I always go for the Roast Beef and it has never let me down, truly one of my favourite venues in Bristol.

The chefs prepare a beautiful roast! Dan was very informative on the different meats and sides ,which were so delicious!

Great gem of a pub with huge garden but a tiny bar so queuing for a drink took excruciatingly long. Made even worse by the bar staff having no sense of urgency whatsoever. Would return on a weekday but don’t recommend on a weekend unless you wanna spend the majority in a queue.

The atmosphere was good, but the toilets were cramped and not great in all honesty, some people who I thought were fellow party goers in the beer garden area, with drinks and vapes turned out to be 2 members of staff. Service was bit too casual from these 2. Beer garden was good, really well decorated and set up, nice heaters to on the walls to keep you warm and games in the corner in a glass cupboard.

Was cold, hardly any meat, deep fried rubbish. Service was lack lustre and we waited ages. The "bench" we were sat on was also dirty.
