The Blacksmith Arms in Horsham

One staff member (the baldish man approx mid 50’s) was not only rude to us but was absolutely vile to the other staff members in front of us!!! I asked one of the waiters if he were the boss/owner and was informed that he wasn’t but his behaviour and attitude suggested that he thought he was!! Totally disgraceful way to speak to other staff members and should he have a problem then he should have the manners to take them to one side to discuss and not fuel his massive ego by belittling them in front of customers. In our view the two younger waiters had done nothing wrong and their customer service was exceptional and how they continued to smile and provide such good service is amazing when they were treated like that!! The older man was not only rude but is not great at customer service whatsoever and not only ignored us when we walked in (check your cctv!!!) but when one of the younger waiters approached us with a smile and asked if he could help the rude bald man bellowed at him and wouldn’t allow him to seat us.

We had a lovely meal with two of the party having veal which was most enjoyable, the staff were warm and friendly and they went out of their way to accommodate my disabled mother in law, which was much appreciated.

The restaurant is a lovely place to eat. The menu has a heavy Italian feel but there are plenty of English dishes as well. The spaghetti was lovely.

What a lovely pub / restaurant! Stopped for a drink, but it seemed so nice that we decided to have a meal and what a great meal it was. The gentlemen in the restaurant were friendly and helpful and the service was great. The food was fantastic and all three of us left absolutely stuffed. Very generous portions, especially with the roast dinner. Would be more than happy to re-visit. Only slight negative was the girl behind the bar appeared a little aloof!

Super friendly staff, great tablecloth's , prompt but non-intrusive service and they serve a superb gin and tonic . The food was mainly good but not something that i would rush to go back to ; our side salad suspiciously resembled a bag of supermarket Italian leaf salad with the addition of four slices of tomato and cucumber. Complimentary Limoncello's were a very nice touch but i wish i could have raved about the food.

We recently visited 10/10 Blacksmith’s Arms for a our son’s 5th birthday. We were certainly not disappointed. The food and service was spot on and couldn’t be faulted. Very good menu and delicious food with great personal service.

We dropped in recently without a reservation and were found a table immediately. Antonio, who's a very jolly and charming chap, suggested that instead of what was on the menu we should try his daily recommendation - linguine with fresh lobster and prawns (£18.95). So we did, and it was absolutely delicious. Will definitely be back.

Great choice for a mid week family night out, Steak dinner with a drink £15, extremely good value. 6 steaks all cooked perfectly and enjoyed with a very generous glass of wine...beer for boys! Was made to feel very welcome too, we will definitely visit again and soon

Excellent selection of Italian dishes and pub classics. Speaicials and offers throughout the week and kids eat free on certain days.

We have now dined here twice, the first time we were a little underwhelmed with both main courses although there was nothing specifically wrong with them and no cause to complain to the staff. This time around we were disappointed from start to finish, a very long wait, tiny portions and over all a distinctly average experience.

Very pleasant atmosphere. The manager went out of his way to make us feel welcome and special. The food was delicious, especially the Seabass and the kids ate for free (Easter Sunday). We will definitely go again soon.

We came here tonight with friends who have never been to billingshurst and chose this as we liked the look of it and never been. Table was booked at 7 it was 8.20 when we got starter and nearly 9.30 when we got main course.its such a shame as the restaurant is lovely and know they are advertising for staff. They all worked very hard but seems more kitchen staff needed to cook the food.

We went tonight, party of four adults and three children for an early dinner at 7 pm, we didn’t get our main course until 10.15 pm, no explanation, no nibbles, no nothing ( we did get 50% off our bill at the end after complaining).....BUT I will never ever ever go back.......end of.

My wife and I visited with one of our daughters and her boyfriend Luqa, and as we were celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary Antonio and his staff made our evening second to none , the food especially the tomahawk steak was our dining out food highlight of the year !!

Where to start!.. we arrived on time and were shown to our table (no place settings).. after maybe 10 minutes a drinks order was taken and, after a chase, was taken again as it was lost.. we then ordered our food and, again, the order was lost!.. we asked for table water 3 times before it arrived... we figured that Mother’s Day had caused it’s issues with too many diners and too few staff.. we very nearly left but the food did eventually arrive maybe an hour after it was ordered...that said, it was very good.. we were offered a reduced bill which was an accepted gesture.. we’d go again but maybe not on a “special day”...

This has fast becoming my local and number one place to eat especially on a Sunday. I will start with the roast dinners on a Sunday, delicious homemade yorkshire puddings, tender cooked meat and freshly cooked vegetables and tasty meaty gravy. All cooked to perfection and best of all kids eat free. 2 children to one paying adult. Amazing food, excellent portions for an incredible price.

We visited on a Tuesday evening which offered pizza and prosseco for only £10, the pizza was amazing and Antonio the manager really made us feel welcome. We’ve been to 10/10 several times including Christmas Day. The food is always top notch! Our young son is always made a fuss of, and the staff and surroundings are second to none!

Four of us went last night for a relaxed birthday dinner. Antonio was extremely welcoming and excellent at looking after us. He was a very genial host and there was no pressure with timings. The steaks and saltimbocca were superb. We will definitely return.

I have driven past this frequently and wondered what it was like. We took a chance last weekend for a quick family lunch and were very pleasantly surprised. Excellent pizza and Italian pasta dish. Great value for money. Children’s meals quality with healthy options as well. A welcoming host and efficient service from a bustling kitchen was much appreciated. In a world where many ‘pub’ restaurants are struggling to find a balance between quality, innovation and value for money this place really seems to have struck the balance well. I only hope they can make a good go of things - so please do stop off or plan a visit soon.

Having driven past The Blacksmiths Arms plenty of times we deduced to book a Saturday evening with friends . Such a wonderful experience despite it being very busy with a large party going on . Staff were welcoming and chatty but the food was superb .. authentic Italian food which was plentiful served hot and quickly . The risotto was so creamy and tasty we all enjoyed it immensely and will be back .

Although we go to the 10/10 on a regular bases and have never had a bad meal, this time we booked the whole room for our daughters 40th birthday party. From day one the staff were brilliant with the organisation and everything went smoothly from start to finish. The food was excellent even though we had over fourty people there and the staff were very attentive the whole evening. There is such a lovely atmosphere and all our guests commented on what a lovely pub it is. We cannot praise this restaraunt enough and have already booked our next Sunday lunch in a couple of weeks.

After a trip away we decided to take a detour on the way home for lunch. We came across 10/10 Restaurant The Blacksmiths Arms and we were not disappointed. We had a delicious, generous Sunday lunch (beef and lamb).

3rd time we have been here for Valentines and again it was a wonderful romantic experience. The food was excellent and the staff were very welcoming.

After many years of driving by this restaurant in a converted historic pub, we shared dinner with old friends there last Saturday evening and were bowled over by the delicious, authentic Italian food. There was a warm welcome from the manager and good service from the team to complement the excellent food. We chose soup of the day and fried cheese starter and "Saltibocca" veal and scallop & prawn tortellini mains. All very tasty. Worth a detour and certainly worth a return visit. Ample parking which we very much appreciated as expensive and tiresome in our local town of Horsham.

Wir waren mit unserer englischen Verwandtschaft im großen Kreis hier mittags essen. Der Besitzer Antonio ist sehr freundlich und offen und kümmert sich sehr gut um seine Gäste. Kinder sind auch herzlich willkommen. Das Essen war sehr lecker, und die Karte bietet eine interessante Mischung aus englischer und italienischer Küche. Das Restaurant ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Wir kommen bei unserem nächsten Besuch gerne wieder!

The atmosphere and staff were super. Just very sad to hear that Antonio who is front of house is leaving, Since his arrival last March the restaurant has gone from strength to strength. We hope that it can sustain the atmosphere he has created.

This was an impromptu visit last Saturday lunchtime and what a treat it turned out to be! Lovely dining area and really nice food. Antonio made us feel really special and we will visit again and have recommended to our friends.

This is a friendly English pub with an amazing Italian restaurant, the 10/10. The food and service is excellent, and suits any occasion.

The steak and glass of wine for £15 was really good value and delicious too. Considering the restaurant was busy with a large party, we were well looked after. Our meals arrived promptly and the staff were attentive. Antonio is an amusing and entertaining host. We will return.

It was really good to meet Big Tony, after my (grown up) kids had visited a couple of times. He seemed to be waiting to meet us as we walked in and even knew our names. Really friendly staff, good service and the food was outstanding. Amongst the best Italian I have had outside of Italy.

Real family feel Italian restaurant, run by the wonderful Antonio who is on hand to greet all guests and talk through the menu if you want to. We haven't had a bad meal here and their Thursday night £15 steak and wine is such a bargain, since you get a choice of steak and it feels like you get half a bottle of wine they fill the glass up so much! Can not recommend this highly enough. Great food - pizza, spaghetti carbonara, steak are all AMAZING, attentive staff and value of money 10 out of 10....

A very warm Italian welcome from the owner when we popped in here for lunch on our way to Bognor Regis.Good choice of food and beer at reasonable prices. Antonio was amusing all the time and it was fun to eat here. A beautiful building with a stunning mosaic floor. Good choice of tables suitable for large groups or a cosy table for two in front of the fire. Visit and you will enjoy your experience just watch your head on the low beams.

Arrrh Antonio! What a great guy! and all of his team. Travelled back from the coast late on a Sunday wanting to stop of for dinner, popped into a couple of pubs on route home to find that they all stopped serving food on a Sunday at 5pm. Found this peach of a place still after 5pm, it was serving Italian food but also serving Sunday roasts. We all went for a roast and it was delicious. Great value too, under 15 quid for 2 courses. Deserts were amazing too. We also had 3 kids with us too that all ate for free. Will definitely be back. Antonio is pretty proud of his sparkling water on tap :)

Popped in on a Saturday lunchtime. Pleasantly surprised to find real Italians serving tasty food in as authentic a way possible given we are in West Sussex. Can only talk about the special menu, which was a stinco di agnello like I've had in Italy. It was like homecooked food, honest and unpretentious.

Visited the 10/10 Restaurant last Friday for lunch, as my Wife and I were staying locally. Received a very warm Italian welcome from Antonio, the Manager, who made several menu recommendations. We settled on the Scallops to start, followed by the Spezzatino (an open pie), both really excellent - will definitely visit again if we are in the area.

This is a great authentic Italian resturant run by Antonio who is such a lovely man larger than life character who makes you very welcome. The parmigiana is amazing but only does it as a special so you may need to ask for it. The menu is a lovely mix of pasta pizza and meat dishes enough to give you a choice but not overwhelming as to confuse the taste buds. They also have a lovely cellar of wine and traditional bristish beers.

Had lunch here with friends recently. The plus points are probably the most important reasons to go to this venue. The food is very good and the service is friendly and effiecient.

Would definitely recommend this Italian restaurant. Loved the service especially from Antonio who had a great sense of humour even though he had recently been very ill. He still managed to have chats with all his guests and made a great effort to ensure everybody was happy. The food was great and would definitely recommend it to anybody that enjoys home cooked Italian cooking. The restaurant itself hasn’t got much atmosphere and the chairs could do with some cushions to make them more comfortable.

Just got back from a lunch with my family for my granddads birthday. Everyone in are party of 6 and a half have left with a massive smile. I would like to say food was outstanding and I can’t leave a review without mentioning Antonio he was the star from the moment we got there till the moment we left he couldn’t not do enough for us . As we are local the four of us stopped off last night at the Blacksmith's Arms in Adversane as we had heard some of the good reviews about 10/10 Restaurant. Well what a little gem! Antonio came over to speak to us, he is a larger than life character who had us all laughing. Food was served in reasonable time. We had starters of mussels Italian style and the prawns which was very good followed by 3 of us having rib eye steak and chips which I am told was delicious. I went for a homemade pizza which was the best I have had in a long while. Lovely crispy crust and definitely cooked in a proper pizza oven. Antonio clearly cant do enough for his customers and we enjoyed the banter. Only tiny weeny criticism get rid of the sachets of tomato ketchup and mayonnaise which were put on the table to accompany the steak main course. These belong in a takeaway. A ramekin pot with your chosen sauce would look so much better. I wished we could have stayed a bit longer to sample dessert but we had to be somewhere after dinner so we will coming back very soon!

We were really excited by reviews of 'real' Italian food, ie not high street chain. The restaurant is nice, although the lighting in the main eating area is really bright and quite unpleasant, in contrast to the nice white tablecloths and good cutlery ... We ordered a range of starters all were a good size, really fresh and served reasonably quickly. We then had to wait over an hour for our next course, which ranged from pizza to pasta. Other tables were also complaining, although the restaurant was far from full. The food eventually arrived and was good in the main, though the lasagne did not rate highly and was apparently the reason we had to wait so long...

Dropped in here for the first time as it’s round the corner from our new house and think this could be our new haunt.

When we first arrived we weren't too sure about our choice but as soon as Antonio came over we knew we'd chosen the right place. He is the ultimate Italian host and he goes out of his way to make his guests welcome.

There aren't too many family friendly places in the area, so this was a good find, and we were happy to go beyond the unimaginative fish fingers and chicken nuggets of most kids' menus.

We have been several times to this fabulous Italian restaurant and it never disappoints. Always a lovely welcome, delicious food of superb quality and lots of laughs. So pleased to have this great place which reminds us so much of the character and cuisine of Italy, right on our doorstep. Highly recommend.

We have written two previous and very positive reviews for Valentines. We have been there since and also had a good experience. However, today’s outing was far from favourable. Firstly, the good part - the anti pasta starter was very good. The lasagna though had far too much pasta and little meat my wife left most of it. The Sunday Roast was not good either the meat was tough or overdone and had far too much fat, vegetables ok, roast potatoes good. We had a nice welcome but after that the barmaid seemed bored or tired didn’t ask whether I wanted ice or a lemon so had to set it out for her, then had to ask for horseradish to go with the beef and at the end of the meal instead of paying at the table as we have done before I was told to stand and pay at the bar. WORST though was a group of local saying f**k, b*m, ar*e throughout out meal who were obviously known to the barmaid. She said nothing to them. It’s not the sort of language people want to hear eating out at a restaurant. Overall very disappointing.

Some of my best memories growing up (in South Africa) are when my parents would take me to a "proper Italian restaurant" for my birthday or a special occasion. It was always so exciting and this place takes me right back there. It's just got that little spark of magic that sets it apart from eating out elsewhere. The service is fantastic - the owner/manager (?) is such a character which adds to the atmosphere ("you don't want limoncello? Well I'm bringing it to you anyway"), the food is really great and it is all very reasonably priced. A firm favourite for us now.

Haven’t been out to this place for a while as the last time went the previous owners closed down. It wasn’t until I googled places to eat in pulborough that it had reopened and under new ownership/management so we decided to have a drive out and give it a go.

I have eaten in this restaurant a few times and it has always been great. But out of the blue, I was recommended them to potentially cater for our own private party, which I wasn't even aware they offered as a service. Well I went ahead and booked them. And I cannot tell you how polite, professional, helpful and obliging they were. The food was amazing, all of our guests raved about it. It was delivered and supplied efficiently, presented beautifully. And made the whole evening perfect. Giuseppe and his staff made excellent suggestions, and they really knew their stuff. My partner and I went into the bar last saturday at around 9pm. The young blonde woman who was nominally serving behind the bar turned out to be the surliest character I've ever had the misfortune to encounter in a pub, bar or restaurant, and that's going some. Not a single pronoun ('I' 'you' etc), nor any verbs 'Would you like?' nor an ounce of friendliness, just grunts, sighs and, la piece de resistance, wandering off without a word before we'd even paid for the drinks she'd grudgingly sloshed out for us (a polite young bloke had to take our money). The young woman was then seen laughing in the kitchen, so I'm imagining she can't have been 'having a bad day'.

I had an amazing evening out here the owner was lovely and it was the best Italian food I have ever eaten.

I cannot praise this restaurant enough! We go as often as we can and the staff always make it a special experience! Antonio, the restaurant manager, is fantastic and just lifts the roof of the place with his bubbly personality and warm caring welcome!

Have now eaten in the restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. Menu with many choices plus the amazing specials board. Very good attentive service, welcoming and always well looked after by Antonio.

We stopped at the Blacksmiths Arms on A long journey and couldn’t have picked a better place. The staff were excellent and so friendly, particularly Antonio playing with our young son, Rex. The food was equally as great... fantastic and authentic Italian with a hint of British Sunday pub classics too. Will definitely be visiting again!

Came here with our 2 year old and it was fabulous. The staff is great with children and they truly enjoy it. The food is absolutely magnificent and nothing is an issue. Even things that aren't on the menu can be arranged. Very friendly and and welcoming. on Sunday they have smaller menu but still plenty of great choices and the bonus is if you have 2 paying adults for main meal the child eats free. Great value for money and we will be definitely returning again and recommending to family and friends.

I can genuinely say it was the best lasagne I have ever eaten - absolutely gorgeous. My friends also had amazing food. The waiter was so authentic Italian that he didn't understand when I asked for the wine list! Not what I would have chosen but was ok. I will certainly visit again.
