The Blackbird Sizzling Pub & Grill in Leicester

Wow!! Want to say a big thank you to all the staff at the blackbird. A birthday meal for quite a few of us tonight and they looked after us so well. The food was absolutely delicious and came out so fast considering there were a lot of us, a few hiccups with the food but totally understandable with how busy it was and nothing seemed to much trouble for them. The staff were so friendly and very accommodating. Even took the time out to ring and tell me personal items had been left behind and had been put away safe for collection. Will definitely be coming again and would highly recommend. Thank you so much 😆

Better restaurants food pub food lovely and cooked nicely

All staff were polite, helpful and extremely friendly. Very pleasant experience from start to finish. Tasty food and prompt service. Good pub grub menu with a few less often seen in pubs type options.

Food took over an hour and when we received it, it was poor quality

Food was great but took roughly over an hour to come out. Was not updated by staff on why it took so long. One order was forgotten to staff to be ordered, no apology given just stated she didn't hear it being ordered. But when all said and done food was good.

Everything was good, the service was excellent, staff friendly

Been coming to the Blackbird for the past 6 weeks on a Monday evening to meet my son and have food and a couple of drinks. The food is incredibly good value and the lasagne is one of the nicest ones I have had ( and I have had a lot of lasagne). Lovely friendly staff

We have been in every week for the past few months and it's a great place for a drink and for food. Great staff good food and a decent point of Guinness which is hard to find.

After tody we newer com back 🤯 we waited for the order for 50 minutes, then they brought a bad-tasting steak that was not chewable. the drink glasses smelled like old rags. We are very sad for today's visit and will never come back again....

The young light haired girl at the bar, rude, miserable zero customer service or care, not sure why she works there as 2nd time I have been and never had such poor service. The young dark haired slightly more happy but none the less zero customer service no smile. So many nice pubs there with great service welcoming, shame those girls let it down. Won’t be visiting again rather go elsewhere

We was a big table full of friends and kids but it was all OK. Busy they was but wasn't fazed by the time, food came out hot and tasty. We all had a good time 👌

We have been here a few times for meals and always good value. It's a sizzler pub but they ran out of onions and so had to have meal on a plate. Having said that will be returning.

Took forever to be served either with the table service or at the bar. When ordering food our nachos came out with no salsa. When I asked I was just told they didn't have any and the waitress walked away. I wouldn't have ordered them if that were the case. Not the first bad experience here Shocking, avoid.

Went for breakfast this morning arrived around 10am went up to ask at 10.25 would it be much longer as we had to be somewhere and pub was almost empty and food came out bacon cold not liuke warm cold scrambled egg cold toast cold the rest just luke warm we were in a rush so just ate and went and butter like rock nothing looked fresh and like it had just been sitting there I'm afraid wont be going back very poor service and food.

Went here recently for lunch with the Mrs. The venue and location is great. Plenty of free onsite parking, have to register number plate on entry. Wasn't that busy, however, food wait time was 45 mins. A trainee took our order and unfortunately came out the kitchen incomplete as an item was missed. After speaking with the staff and manager, Paul, we were given the missing item very promptly. All in all a cosy family friendly pub with a good selection of drinks and food. Food quality could be improved with ciabatta garlic bread rather than bread slices and half melted cheese. Mains could have come out hotter with better garnish.

Got there and they were understaffed ,we were there for my partners birthday,had mixed grill and the chips were cold but meat was nice,pudding was lovely.there was no1 to collect the dirty pots from other tables for a good while,its a big pub and christmas week would reccomend more staff,

Great value, great food, great choice of food. 0 for the atmosphere though. Its just wrong how you can use speakers so crystal clear you can hear cymbals even through my earphones. Its really agrivating.

It was packed it was a Monday night, and people were queuing for food. Service was stretched, you could tell, and the food is your standard chain pub food. The lovely girl serving was happy and smiley. My first pint of Guiness was excellent. The other 2 were not so good, Mo day us quiz night and the guy who doesn't is fantastic. Well worth a visit

This has been our regular place for some time now. Best service, always cheerful and able to advise. The food is very good, there are some little mistakes from time to time, but we are only human. They always have something nice for children. Great For a drink with friends, but also great For family dinner. Oh! Breakfast must try! Double hunters - OMG! Steak with garlic prawns - OMG! Good job guys 💪💯‼️

Staff are great but nearly an hour and half for an adult and child dinner and chase puddings..

Went there for business lunch, food took 30 mins to come but there was only another 2 tables. Not many people in. The food taste was not bad

I didn't have any food. Just had a tea - but it was good :)

We had booked and had arrived early; our table was reserved, not always the case in some restaurants, and we were seated early. Menus were quite varied compared to some chains, which was nice. Ordering is a bit of an ordeal because the queue contains all of the other users; i.e.; pub drinkers, tea and coffee buyers as well as the restaurant users. My wife had a chicken dish, (I can't remember which), and I had jerked chicken skewers. My skewers were lovely but needed a lot more jerk seasoning, chips were frozen but I expected that. My wife had rice, which was excellent, but the dressed salad side, wasn't dressed. All in all, a nice evening but nothing memorable.

Using a Groupon voucher, so expected a meagre menu. Chloe served us and recommend steak and it was brilliant

Please clean up everything is so sticky, yuck beer gave me stomach problems! Something is definitely wrong with hygiene at this place I don't want to give 1 star because I believe in positive change

Loved the blackbird. We went for lunch & really enjoyed our meal, we shared a starter which was big & had a big meal. The food was cooked perfectly, the service was quick. I would definitely recommend the blackbird to anyone.

An enjoyable monday night Got treated to a drink ordered for me a beach like Passion Fruit Juice and a shot of martini. The Barman told us this is his favourite drink. Didnt have the martini shot but the Passion Fruit Juice Smelt a great holiday and was presented lovely. Enjoyed a couple of games pool just needed a lilo.

We both ordered a bbq wrap which were really nice, the chips unfortunately were cold and not very nice and we had to go up and ask for our drinks as the kitchen staff hadnt taken the receipt through to the bar as we ordered on our phone from the qr code on the table, the staff were really friendly though

Have driven past this pub over the years and thought looks cheap and rough. Tried it after a walk. The food was mediocre yet took 45 minutes to arrive. It was a quiet day yet the service was slow, needed prompting and they gave food to the wrong table. The wrong table then ate it! Will never return or recommend. My first impression was spot on

The last 4 times my wife and myself have gone to the blackbird which is are local weather day or evening we have been told sorry we have not got what you ordered choose somthing else mostly fish/mushrooms are the main things out of stock plus a long wait when you do find something they have not ran out of allso beware of the wheelchair ramp round the back massive hole impossible to use with out toppling over it was never like this before hopefully they might start ordering more stock

Yeah, nice evening sitting outside at the blackbird, beer was good, local real ale and nice people, coming from Tipton, the locals were great to me and my black country accent...I'd recommend it.

Great place to pop in if you fancy a pint or food .. kids eat for a quid was really good .I will be coming back.. service was a bit slow. But they told me they had new people in kitchen learning. So all good 👍

Had scampi last time I was there and one of them was mouldy, may or may not be down to pub? Given a full refund but a little off putting

We had a superb meal again today, Lauren was her usual cheerful self, nice to see a youngster being so pleasant and helpful, how do they do it for the money, everything was superb, couldn't fault anything.

Can't comment on the food, coz I've never had any as they close kitchen after 1900hrs. Lot of parking space, ambience is awesome, outside sitting is available, good and fast service. Drinks are costly, and I did not like the jagermister and redbull they used for the shots. Other than that it is cool place to chill out for probably one drink only.

Nice pub if you want good simple food . It was hot and plentiful for the money good value enjoyed what we ordered. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Waited an hour and a half for our food, others that got seated and ordered after us got their meals before us. Was told it was the mix grill that took the time, 1.5 hours for a bit of steak, gammon etc it , was just thrown on the plate and then to be told when questioned why it wasn’t on a sizzler “we’ve run out of onions” The service was unacceptable. Will not be visiting ever again! We ordered a chicken burger, mix grill and a child’s fish finger, peas and chips, so nothing out of this world to warrant the wait, they clearly forgot our order but didn’t have the honesty to tell us, extremely disappointing to say the least!

Let me explain my rating. People in the back, amazing! Nice plated food, tasty( even if it was a bit too less for my appetite, but I eat a lot so it's fine), People in front: appaling. Young lady made me feel like a nuisance and I was half expecting to spit in my food, given the general vibe I got from her. Maybe it's better when other people are working in front

Not been in for 40 odd years, but found it quite nice really, only hassle is to put your car reg in the screen at the bar. I only noticed someone else doing it else i would have a parking ticket
