Waited nearly two hours for food.

The newly refitted pub has new menus and is really enjoyable now

We're to start the food was amazing! Really really nice the problem was we waited 2hrs to get our food from the point of ordering, granted we was told there was a hour wait for food but to wait over 2hrs was just bonkers 😂 they messed the order up and wasted a good 5-10minutes back and forth from the kitchen at the end regarding kids desserts which they did finally rectify... praise the lord 🙄 hopefully just a one off as like I say the food was bang on!!

Be careful where you park! Food was okay, but the service took a while. To make matters worse we parked in what appeared to be the pub car park and didn’t notice any signage or a need to pay (staff didn’t mention this either!). However, we subsequently received a £100 fine, reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.

Used to absolutely love coming here as it’s just down the road from us. Used to always have a great experience. Today, waited a whopping 2 hour 5 mins for food. Not a single person came to apologise for the wait, explain the food would be delayed or in fact communicated with us at all. No signage explaining food will be delayed. What’s happened? Seems it’s closed and refurbished with a new menu and it’s completely ruined! So disappointed because I used to absolutely love this place and now it’s turned to rubbish! If you don’t want to wait hours and hours for food, I suggest you stay away or before ordering ask how long food will be!!

Had to wait about 1 hour and 10 minutes for the food to arrive. 3 other tables were waiting just as long. It was not even busy. The food was average and wasn’t worth the wait. Wasn’t updated on the wait until I asked after an hour. I won’t be coming back.

First time in Leicester. Very nice town. Decided to have our meal before we head down south at The Blackbird. The atmosphere was fine. It's a pub. I wouldn't say same about food and service. We had burger which was burned, chewie and preheated. Also waited for it around 1 hr. Nobody updated us on a long delay with our meals. To be honest I can't remember what other 2 meals we had but they were as bad. Just to add, ordered desert and had to chase it 3 times. Waiting time 40 min. Not impressed.

Been sitting here for 30minutes on a Wednesday afternoon waiting for a burger and chicken tikka masala!

Bad food and fighting on a Sunday evening ...

Not been for a long time, so went 3 weeks ago, everything was perfect 👌. Then went last week under cooked food asked for a new egg just re-cooked the same one & meat was cooked to fast so still tuff. Booked for breakfast online 9th of March for 10.15am booking confirmed, got a taxi to the pub just for it to be closed for staff training. Not happy, remove bookings for breakfast if not open.

Standard cheap pub food and drink. Service was lovely, really friendly bar staff and waiting staff. Unfortunately sat us next to the toilets so constantly getting bumped into by drunk people. Kids running wild about the place so don't go there for a romantic evening! Food was pretty poor but it was cheap so to be expected really. Wouldn't go there again to be honest.

Take my client there for lunch she likes the friendly staff, and the meals are value for money easy to park just remember to log your reg or you will get a ticket. It's just had a refit and looks so good now.

The Blackbird has just reopened and it is beautiful! Food was fantastic and the team were wonderful! Highly recommend!

Me and 8 of my friend went to the Gala night. What can I say a night to remember whens the next one?. 3 course meal everyone enjoyed the food came out didn't have to wait for long...bubbly on arrival and then entertainment such a laugh! All staff was on point and was nice to see some staff aswell the opposite side of the bar enjoying there night as all work so hard!

Me and my wife stumbled across this pub about a year ago and come at leasttwicea week . OK decor needs sorting witch is happening early 2025 but what a pub got to be one of the best in leicester. Never ever had a problem with the food or drink . The Manager Adam is a top bloke the staff are very acomadating and nothing is to much trouble for the team so a very big well done the Blackbird.

Tuve un desayuno muy agradable con mis amigos. Pedí huevos volteados, lo cual hicieron. Era muy sabroso. Chloe y ange eran ambos amables y acogedores. Volveremos.

Very disappointed. We went for breakfast. I had the large Vegetarian breakfast which was very small. 4 very small mushrooms , I counted the beans and there were 20 beans 🤦‍♂️. Had to send it back because the veggie sausages were undercooked and cold. Came back out and the rest was completely cold. Very disappointed. No salt or pepper on the table. There was very limited coffee had to share half mugs with other guests until fresh batch was made.

Muy decepcionado. Fuimos a desayunar. Tuve el desayuno vegetariano grande que era muy pequeño. 4 champiñones muy pequeños , conté los frijoles y había 20 frijoles 🤦‍♂️. Tuve que devolverlo porque las salchichas vegetales estaban mal cocinadas y frías. Volvió y el resto estaba completamente frío. Muy decepcionado. No hay sal ni pimienta en la mesa. Hubo un café muy limitado tuvo que compartir medias tazas con otros huéspedes hasta que se hizo lote recién hecho.

Sunday afternoons attract some unusual characters Bar staff are friendly but not very present, no one serving at times as they were taking out meals.

The food improve drastically there so that's plus. Running kids everywhere like on playground that's minus especially that parents don't give a damm that others can be disturbed and don't like it. Tables need deep.clean as you can glue yourself to them, very sticky.

Food very basic and cheap feel to it, although service great, and staff lovely. Five star service from decent people. Pub interior worn and tired and dingy. Lighting poor, decor in need. Toilets not in good condition. Clientele something to be desired if you have kids, lots of swearing and shouting from drunk males. This is at lunchtime on a weekend. All in all it depends what you want or are used to. The staff are clearly working hard and I praise them, its not their fault at all.

I can’t believe on the limited menu if you are vegan, The two meals for £11 its just a salad if you don’t eat meat, the desert is bad too

Me and my family came to the blackbird last night for my birthday The staff where great and friendly but the food was not very nice at all Everything on the mixed grill was burnt and crispy the chips where very salty. My grandchild had a child's cheese burger and the bun was rock hard and the burger was over cooked. Don't usually have a problem when we visit but l The food was all very over done last night and not up to the standard it usually is.

Good service, ordered on the app and drinks arrived promptly. Wide selection of meals. My salad was really good, added steak and the chicken and bacon topper. The other salad on the table unfortunately was missing the carrot and cabbage. All other meals were good though! Thankfully it was a warm day though as the hand dryer was broken.

The black bird is a large pre-war style pub mainly aimed at the food trade. There is a wide range of beers lager and cider, including a cask conditioned hand-pulled real ale, which was in excellent condition when we visited. There is a pool table and a tv showing sport. There's a nice outside seating area in front of the pub. If you use the car park, you must put your car registration number in the terminal at the bar to avoid a fine. The pub is dog friendly.

The food looked good. My granddaughter who is vegan thought the ribs were a bit tough. Our mac n cheese were really tasty.

Me and my partner went for food at the blackbird pub yesterday. The food was amazing and the service was great our bartender sadie was lovely and very polite. Would definitely go again.

What an amazing dishes we had. You have your usual pub classics with an upgraded choices and additional meals. Price wasn't bad, 58 for family of 4 and further 15 for deserts. (Drinks included) Definetly good place to go to. Ps. Place needs a bit of clean!

We have been long time customers at the blackbird pub and I am told since January is new ownership. The last 2 times I have visited the tables on arrival were all dirty and plates not cleaned after 2 hours of being there. We had to eat desert with dirty dinner plates on table last time. This time my wife went toilet and there was no toilet seat on ladies toilets. I worry if this level of hygiene front of house how bad back of house. We will be going somewhere else from now I think, which is a shame a loved bringing family here.

A very nice place to meet friends, English breakfast - a large portion of delicious food. Very good burgers and breakfasts at an affordable price. Interesting offer of 3 starters for PLN 11.75 - I chose garlic baguette, mozzarella - breadsticks and shrimps with sweet and spicy sauce. The characteristic sticky tables of English pubs. Pleasant service. Will definitely visit again.

We had order food & the beans was like they been stood for a while & when we asked for fresh beans came out cold second time round. The food was cold & it was not the best.

I went for dinner at the weekend, bar service was good, however the food was not up to standard, came out cold also children running about

Not busy but took a good while for food to come out , gravy was like water , gammon was rather dry n crispy 🙄 no egg and mushrooms were boiled 🤦‍♂️mixed grill it was ok , edible but not the best. 75 out of 💯 🤷‍♂️

The food there was amazing iv been going there for a while and the food is really good and the staff there are very friendly would definitely recommend this place if your looking for a good place too relax have a drink and some food

Been coming to the Blackbird for the past 6 weeks on a Monday evening to meet my son and have food and a couple of drinks. The food is incredibly good value and the lasagne is one of the nicest ones I have had ( and I have had a lot of lasagne). Lovely friendly staff

Excellent service. Excellent prices. Remind the chef not to run out of pineapple for my beautifully cooked gammon steak. Always keep an extra tin in stock as I have been here for before and I will be visiting again.

Food was very good but supplies of steak etc were poor. We had visited Thursday and no 2 x 8oz rump on menu so had been offered 3 x 5oz rumps instead. On Sunday still no 8oz rump but was told you couldn’t do 3 x 5oz! Not sure why you could one day but not another.

Needs updating, seats are in very poor repair. Kitchen staff need a lesson in cleanliness

Chill place to hangout with friends for a drink

Wow!! Want to say a big thank you to all the staff at the blackbird. A birthday meal for quite a few of us tonight and they looked after us so well. The food was absolutely delicious and came out so fast considering there were a lot of us, a few hiccups with the food but totally understandable with how busy it was and nothing seemed to much trouble for them. The staff were so friendly and very accommodating. Even took the time out to ring and tell me personal items had been left behind and had been put away safe for collection. Will definitely be coming again and would highly recommend. Thank you so much 😆

All staff were polite, helpful and extremely friendly. Very pleasant experience from start to finish. Tasty food and prompt service. Good pub grub menu with a few less often seen in pubs type options.

Food took over an hour and when we received it, it was poor quality

Food was great but took roughly over an hour to come out. Was not updated by staff on why it took so long. One order was forgotten to staff to be ordered, no apology given just stated she didn't hear it being ordered. But when all said and done food was good.

After tody we newer com back 🤯 we waited for the order for 50 minutes, then they brought a bad-tasting steak that was not chewable. the drink glasses smelled like old rags. We are very sad for today's visit and will never come back again....

The young light haired girl at the bar, rude, miserable zero customer service or care, not sure why she works there as 2nd time I have been and never had such poor service. The young dark haired slightly more happy but none the less zero customer service no smile. So many nice pubs there with great service welcoming, shame those girls let it down. Won’t be visiting again rather go elsewhere

We was a big table full of friends and kids but it was all OK. Busy they was but wasn't fazed by the time, food came out hot and tasty. We all had a good time 👌

We have been here a few times for meals and always good value. It's a sizzler pub but they ran out of onions and so had to have meal on a plate. Having said that will be returning.

Took forever to be served either with the table service or at the bar. When ordering food our nachos came out with no salsa. When I asked I was just told they didn't have any and the waitress walked away. I wouldn't have ordered them if that were the case. Not the first bad experience here Shocking, avoid.

Went for breakfast this morning arrived around 10am went up to ask at 10.25 would it be much longer as we had to be somewhere and pub was almost empty and food came out bacon cold not liuke warm cold scrambled egg cold toast cold the rest just luke warm we were in a rush so just ate and went and butter like rock nothing looked fresh and like it had just been sitting there I'm afraid wont be going back very poor service and food.

Went here recently for lunch with the Mrs. The venue and location is great. Plenty of free onsite parking, have to register number plate on entry. Wasn't that busy, however, food wait time was 45 mins. A trainee took our order and unfortunately came out the kitchen incomplete as an item was missed. After speaking with the staff and manager, Paul, we were given the missing item very promptly. All in all a cosy family friendly pub with a good selection of drinks and food. Food quality could be improved with ciabatta garlic bread rather than bread slices and half melted cheese. Mains could have come out hotter with better garnish.

Got there and they were understaffed ,we were there for my partners birthday,had mixed grill and the chips were cold but meat was nice,pudding was lovely.there was no1 to collect the dirty pots from other tables for a good while,its a big pub and christmas week would reccomend more staff,

Great value, great food, great choice of food. 0 for the atmosphere though. Its just wrong how you can use speakers so crystal clear you can hear cymbals even through my earphones. Its really agrivating.
