I had a just eat order. Food and delivery from Ibbq house , it was absolutely delicious 😋 best taway I had in a very long time. I will always order from here because the food was fresh, perfectly cooked and presented in containers which were secured. 100% my kinda food. I wish I could eat it everyday. We started coming here often and honestly this is our new turkish spot now! Ordered inside and also for delivery too and the guys are always spot on, however fridays delivery time is a little longer than usual but we do understand as its friday other than that gents your doing a great job keep up!

We ordered home delivery Food arived pipping hot and was treated really kind Although there was a missing order but that didnt stop them from resending another driver to drop off my food again and plus we recieved a portion of baklava too Great service top quality food and honestly really kind people:)

So I used to use this place for a Turkish … I don’t know what has happened but the food is dreadful .. before it was amazing .. last time I went food was burnt and was disgusting - fella always seems to be distracted .. and ant the normal guy who used to cook

Meat and rice was very nice but bread was dry and didn't taste fresh probably because went at 2pm and it was from the night before.

Had a delivery via Just Eat. Food beautifully presented. You could say over barbecued for my taste. Needed to have the next size up in family meal.

Unbelievably after waiting more than hour and a half for our food inside my wife’s wrap was a metal nut which could have caused serious damage to her teeth. Luckily she spat it out after thinking it was an olive nut… Absolutely shocking to find this in our food and dangerous if this was feed to a child!

I have ordered takeaway twice from here. Both times delivery was prompt and very tasty. Unfortunately reason for poor review is that my guest ordered a vegetarian dish with onion rings and it had calamari in it. Completely unacceptable and if related to a food allergy could have been fatal. Spoke to manager who offered an apology but no refund or future discount. Whilst I have enjoyed the food I would be cautious if you have any specific dietary needs/allergies.

Everything was spot on. One of the best Turkish restaurants, great service and very attentive to our big table, and most importantly the food was amazing. Not had better, could only be improved by the addition of some efes Turkish beer. Thanks for a great meal and your hard work on a Sunday night.

We came here for dinner as a group of 14 for my daughter’s birthday. The food was amazing but what really made the experience special was the service. A lovely, friendly atmosphere, welcoming staff who really couldn’t do enough for us and bought us complimentary Turkish tea to try amongst other things. We will definitely be back. Best bread I’ve ever had at a Turkish restaurant and overall just an amazing, positive experience. Thank you

Food was good but it took 30 mins longer than they said it would, and they got my order wrong, and they ignored the email I sent them to let them know they got it wrong. Impression I got from the phone line was they don't care, backed up by the lack of response.

My son and I went for a takeaway. Prices were 50 percent more than advertised on the menu. We were charged £15 each for a kebab. Biggest rip off ever. STAY AWAY or be prepared to be ripped off. I don't mind paying for anything but it was way too expensive for what we got.. BE CAREFUL OR GET RIPPED OFF.. we weren't the only customer unhappy another was complaining that their meal was £18 more than it was advertised on line

Had a takeaway delivered last night , 25th Nov 2023, came within 30-40 mins , we ordered lamb and chicken shish with chips and a child's lamb shish with rice , the lamb and chicken shish was nice , maybe the meat on both kebabs was slightly overdone but it wasn't dry , it came with a lovely fresh salad and bread , the bread was tepid and would've been better with a little oil , sesame seeds or seasoning on it , the chips were lovely and crisp , the only real letdown was the rice , it was just plain boiled rice , it could've been so much more flavoursome if cooked with chicken stock and maybe a little onion and Veggies and made to be more of a savoury rice , all in all though it was a lovely meal and I would order again , but if they tweaked the bread and rice it could be lifted to spectacular. , it really is the little things that count

Not a friendly service was being offered refried /recycled food and was asked to leave the premises when I had paid for the food!!! After loads of absurd words from the guy behind the serving counter i left without the food i had paid for and the money paid for quite an experience guys!! Just a word of caution watch out!!! Recycled food and abusive atmosphere!!

Ordered delivery and the food came with mould on the chilli sauce. Rang up and guy said they were aware that a few pots were mouldy but our order had left to be delivered but other food should be fine to eat. Didnt matter as i was totally put off and he said he'll send the driver with the refund money. Few hours of waiting and rang back. Spoke to someone else who categorically denied everything saying chilli sauce is free so it didnt matter that it was mouldy so theres no problem and refused my refund. Never in my life have a dealt with anything like this...not about the money but the principle of which there is none. Only ordered from here as meze mangal was closed. What a mistake

Worst service I have ever received. Ordered online at 17:54 with expected delivery of 18:29 Called at 18:53 as still not received to be told that the delivery was on its way. Called again at 19:19 as still not arrived to be left on hold for over 5 minutes whilst the phone was just left on the side. Called again at 19:37 to again be told the food was on its way and that it would be with me in 10 minutes. Called again at 19:50 to be told that the driver is an idiot and that one other person had come in to collect as they had waited so long. At this time they were now not able to tell me how long my order would be. Extremely poor service, if you want your food, don't go here, avoid at all costs, not worth the hassle, staff are no help and apparently the driver is an 'idiot' according to the staff.

Ordered a takeaway from here and it came with 3 pots of chilli sauce, it wasn’t until I had poured one over my dinner that I realised the other 2 pots were covered in fur mould. What else wasn’t fresh?? I tried to get a refund but was told the chilli sauce was free!! Disgusting service and very rude. DO NOT EAT from here!

Would not try here again. Nothing compared to Mezze mangal. Portions are smaller. Chicken and kofte not as good quality. Bread was from a packet not fresh like others. Same with the hummus. Overall left a bad taste for £54

Ordered a mixed keebab special for 2 and all we could taste is lighter fluid. Had two bites and the threw the rest away. Very rude girl on telephone when asking a question. Won't ever order again.

Used to be very good and it was our first choice in the area for Turkish / BBQ food but the quality has been declining over the last few months and we stopped ordering from their all together after our latest disappointing experience.

Popped in for lunch today, we shared a platter…the meze and bread were fantastic and the main did not disappoint. Very reasonable price as well.

We been there few times now, not the most posh place as it is more a takeway than a restaurant, but then i can't really fault them for anything, staff is always helpfull, food is tasty(most important imho), reasonably priced, to summarize, it exceeded our expectations, on what tou expect vs what you get, so if you enjoy turkish cuisine this aquite a good place for a meal.

Unfortunately, they are using fast burn charcoal which leaves a smoky paraffin taste on the food and a back of throat. Otherwise, nice staff and good food options. May have been a one off experience. Parking is an issue due to being opposite the pub. The chip 2 doors down is quality for a traditional fish and chips.

Had family meal which I have ordered numerous times very disappointed with this meal went to collect it. it was cold, rice had no flavour like normal, not much chicken, and salad was half the size as normal pus the price has gone up considerably

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Waited over an hour and a half for delivery and it never turned up, couldn’t get through to the restaurant to sort this out. I was furious as I ordered late and was too late to order anything else. If you want a meal to turn up then do not order from here!!! Happened to me more than once.

Extremely expensive for a mediocre quality. 5 drinks and fruit salad for 800 TL ! Fruits were very few and not ripe. To be avoided.

Outstanding service, genuine warmth from the hosts. The platters are a great way to go with a group. The starters/breads/dips are a meal and experience in themselves. Meat BBQ to perfection. Bravo. We will definitely be back. Been 3 times, just want to check in again soon!

Visited here with my family. Only some staff give you good friendly service whilst some staff try run the place like a back street chippy in the back alleys of Istanbul. Once you’ve passed that the food is average. They claim to be HMC but there’s no certificate anywhere. The thing about this place is that it’s small and more of a cafe that there’re trying to portray it’s a restaurant. If you put a flower in a butt hole, don’t make the hole a vase.

we ordered an takeaway last night at 7.30 was told it be a 35 - 50 mins wait fine.callled to see where the food was at 8.30 to be told it's out for delivery, 9.30 called again to be told the food is coming off the grill called again at 10.15 and was told it's on it's waythe food did not turn up till 10.30. 3 hours to deliver food is a little crazy I know not of bothered. very disappointed.

Takeout always been fab. But this time it was the worst that I have ever had from this place. It came cold and had to put in microwave. And meat was so dry. They said 40 min but we awaiting 2 hours near. I had watched a full film while waiting for it to be delivered.

We are regulars at Istanbul; a lot of the time I order on behalf of work and on other occasions me and the wife pop in for a meal.... The guys are great, the food is fantastic and the service is top notch!Yasin (the owner) runs the business with his family - true Turks and they are focused on doing good quality food well. I am vegetarian so usually order a halloumi and falafel wrap (with extra halloumi) and it is delicious. The salad is always fresh and their chilli sauce is so tasty!The wife had a chicken beyti last time and she loved it - she said the meat was succulent and tender and tasted so healthy and delicious.They always deliver. I would recommend the guys in Istanbul to now take the lead and introduce new vegetarian options such as soya kebabs or tofu kebabs for more choice for vegetarian people. The meat choices are vast so a few more choices for us would be fantastic!Keep up the great work and we look forward to more food from Istanbul!

Take-out took 1 hour 40 minutes. Food was cold when it came and part of the order was missing. When we called the restaurant they hung up on us. When we called back and asked for a refund they refused. Will not be ordering from here again. After 1 hour 40 minutes wait the food was stone cold and we had to re-heat it!

Take-out took 2 hours and 5 min, and food ended up cold.We ordered take-out for 3 people and were advised it would only take 45 minutes. It took over two hours. When we called the restaurant the person we spoke to was very rude and hung up on us, saying it busy and driver must be stuck in traffic, even though we live 15 min away. When the food arrived not only was it cold they had missed a portion of chips. One of the burgers was ice cold and all the sauce and soaked through the bun. We called again and the manager was very rude and unwilling to refund is. Not good customer service at all. If your looking for good and reliable food then this is not the place. Will not be ordering again!

Overall a pretty good meal, nothing to complain about, but slightly bland, although this could probably be due to personal preference. The salad tasted fresh but had no dressing which was a bit disappointing. I probably wouldn't go back but not because it wasn't good, just because I prefer somewhere else.

Amazing quick service. Freshly prepared fantastic spread of salad, rice, meat and bread. Timing was perfect. One hour for lunch 15 minutes to spare from walking in to walking out. Excellent

Over 1hr 20 mins then I decide to call, not even with the delivery driver, so cancelled order no apologie didn’t seem bothered at all, I won’t order from them again

Had a delivery from here a few times, and it's always been decent food, but a bit cold. Had a delivery recently though that completely took this Michael. Was told 45 minutes for delivery. An hour later it hadn't arrived. Rang and complained and got £1.50 knocked off, and they still took another 45 minutes. Food came cold. I literally could have walked to the place and picked it up quicker. The veggie kebab is a disgrace btw, steer clear of it if you're a vegetarian. It's basically a vegetable soup. It ain't a kebab. Go to the proper Istanbul on Narborough Road.

Our family have used this restaurant to eat out and order take away since it first opened.

Almost two hours after ordering a take away from here and we were still waiting. I called twice to find out where my order was only to be told each time that it was on its way or that we would be the next delivery. Had to cancel. With that service I wouldn't bother trying out eating in at this place.

My wife and I have eaten here this evening as we have many many many times. We have introduced all of our 'foody' friends to this venue and we deliberately over-order to guarantee left overs for the following day. Fresh salads and meats cooked over coals in the venue have never failed to impress. Given a free choice of where to eat for my last two birthdays I have chosen here. Not licenced and no alcohol on the premises and it is Halal (for those this matters to either way). Incredible value and great food is a winning combination. As regulars we know all the staff in this family owned and run place which always leaves me well fed.

There is not a sign that shows people that it is halal.Ban halal in the uk I have never or will i ever go to this place.

We visit Istanbul regularly. The service for both take out and eat-in is friendly and the food is always freshly cooked and delicious. At many other establishments serving grilled food, especially other Turkish places the food tends to be mediocre and either undercooked, overcooked or just badly cooked! Not so at Istanbul shackerdale Road- it is just right and fantastic. The preparation of the kebabs is always fresh and tasty. If you love authentic Turkish grilled kebabs then I highly recommend this place. It is also very clean and comfortable and the accompaniments to the meal are also fresh and tasty.

customer service is terrible! ordered on hungry house the food came late and the order was wrong, the driver parked across the road from my house and beeped his horn at me for me to cross the road and get my food instead of delivering it to my door like any delivery man would do!

Visited here again with my wife and children and as always, it has been a delightful visit with friendly welcoming staff who are always happy to serve. The food was also amazing! We had the combination kebabs and the meat was well cooked, fresh and tender as always! The kids also had a selection of chicken nuggets and burgers to choose from for anyone with family who are picky eaters.

Wigston suburb/village is not exactly Leicester's hottest night spot, but if you're there and hungry the Istanbul (easily found on a big corner site) is a very good choice. Pleasant, bustling atmosphere and well-patronised. Healthy Turkish food of all kinds - kebabs and so on - all authentic and good sized serves. Staff are efficient, friendly and eager to please. Big takeout section also. Prices reasonable and good value. Recommended.

Went here today again and it was incredible! The staff and the food never fails to impress me and would recommend it to anyone that is looking for a day out to eat with the family or night out with friends. The meat was also well cooked from the grill and you get reasonable proportions.

Ordered for the first time after recommendation. Wish we hadn't of listened. As a family of 4 we decided on a family special for £34 feeding 5-6 thinking that it didn't matter if there was a little left, better to have too much than not enough. Called and arranged for collection as read reviews that said sometimes delivery was very late and others earlier than expected.I was told that this meal was now £38 and I must have an old menu. Not sure how long I've had the menu but sure it isn't that long! Anyway I was told that there was a meal for £22 or one at £27, after saying that the meal was for 4 I was advised that the £27 one would be plenty enough. We did however decide to order an extra bread ad only 3 in meal and chips incase my 14 yr old daughter didn't like the meat. We picked it up £31 in total (£3 for cold dried out chips) got it home and opened. Well sorry but £31 left us feeling totally ripped of! Thought we were missing something, called restaurant only to be told to return if I thought something was missing, as I explained this was the first time I had ordered so didn't know what to expect but a bit more for £31 . Ended up putting the phone down as fed of being called darling and felt as if I was being patronised. Warmed the food as almost cold even though we'd collected it and decided to try and make the best for the money paid. Taste not bad but never worth what we paid, a square foil container with mainly bony meat and bit of rice underneath. Very small foil containers with sauces and 3 cans of coke as "they didn't have any bottles".even though on the menu. I only take the time to write reviews if something is exceptionally good....or bad! In my opinion if you're thinking of ordering from here I'd say save your money. All 4 of us agreed that this was the worst takeaway we've had! Not sure how it gets the good reviews it does, maybe if we'd paid no more that £10 we could have accepted it. Would avoid never again!!!!

Never disappoints me. Love the lamb donna. This time we have family round so I decided to show them what they were missing. So i ordered over phone to be collected. Not one was disappointed.this a my fave Friday night takeout, and it's one of the healthier takeout u could buy.

We as friends decided last minute to go out for something to eat, Istanbul won the where shall we go hands down, one of my friends had never been to a maze restaurant before, after a wonder plentiful meal my friend is hooked, the atmosphere in the place was friendly I just love this place

Nothing but praise for this family business. Always clean freindly and great fresh food. Mezze is a bargain and always on point. Grilled food is Cooked to perfection every time these guys know what they are doing. Whatever I order I'm never ever disappointed with the food or the price

Heard from alot people the food was meant to be good here so tried it out today although my hubby had been before and really liked it. The good was amazing. So tasty, not greasy and the chicken and meat was quality, no nasty bits on it. We were about to order the platters for sharing for 5 adults and 3 children and one of the workers (although i think he was management) came to us after and said what we were ordering was going to be far too much food and if we trusted him then he will sort it out. We did and he got it perfect. The breads and dips for starters were delicious, the mains spot on and the baklava for sweets was lovely. Finished off with tea and it was a percect evening. The service was excellent and it was nice to see the toilets were clean, warm and usable. Defo worth a visit....or few.

Popped in this evening for a take away. Great customer service. Yogurt and cucumber tasty. The whole place smells delicious. Great diet tips too. Go and enjoy the v great smells and clean looking salad.

Firstly there are simply too many choices when it comes to Turkish food in Leicester. Trust me I've tried them all. However I discovered this by accident. I'm so glad I did ! I've got to say the food and customer service here is simply superb, The Best in Leicester ! I ordered a mix kebab which was beautifully presented with salad and chips. All freshly cooked and very quickly served. Now the taste is sublime and delicious !! Wow !! I can honestly say this is a grill house that you must try. You will definitely be glad you did. The chap that served us was so helpful and friendly, a job well done !!! If your not sure what to order there is plenty to choose from and very polite staff. Forget The Rest, Try The Best Place in town !

I was glad to come across a different type of takeaway, and this place was very good. We had the istanbul special which included a range of barbecued meats with rice/salad/Turkish bread. We also ordered some houmous and were glad we did as the sauces that came with it were tiny. Really enjoyed it, and will definitely be ordering again. Feels like a slightly healthier takeaway than your usual pizza/curry/chinese! Only reason for 4 stars is because it was about 20 minutes late so took about an hour in the end.

I discovered this takeaway (although you can eat in) by accident about a year ago, and what a great accident. I have either the mixed or chicken kebab. It is always cooked fresh, presented nicely and tastes delicious. The staff are friendly, the place is always busy but don't let that put you off. The staff work hard and there is very little b waiting time.I would even say it's possibly a heathy (ish) kebab!

Great restaurant/takeaway food is always fresh and tasty and the portion sizes are very generous. My local takeaway for fast easy food and loads of dishes to choose from
