Quite expensive for nothing really! Mediocre food, expensive drinks, and not so great service.

Sticky table, dirty glasses and food was (very) late. We were told we'd get a free drink on the house to compensate for the late meal, but it showed up on the bill anyway... Not sure we'll come back here any time soon!

The food (roast) cooked til it was uneatable. Roast beef like leather, roast pork very dried. Roast potatoes hard inside, roast carrot, parsnip are so hard you can't cut it. Children chips coated with pepper. For £17 to £21 dinner left much to be desired.

Visited the black pug for a family gathering. Lovely garden for the children and nice atmosphere. Ordered the Paris Stilton burger which for the money could of been a lot better. The food that came out seemed to have been done in a hurry. Nice place for a drink but wouldn't eat there again.

Had a great Sunday roast for my sons birthday with his children, staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was very good, I would definitely recommend the Black Pug.

Long story short, we’re so thrilled with everything about this place, it goes on our list, right up there in the top ten pubs between Warwick and Coventry. For starters, they saved us a parking space – always a bonus, It was reasonably easy access for my dad who uses two walking sticks to get around - only two steps to get down from the outside to the bar, and only one if you go the front way. Cannot commend the staff enough for their friendly, caring attitude - they were all happy to go above and beyond, particularly Adam and Justin. Their own brand lager was delightful on one of the hottest days of the year cell phone so far, and the mid-priced Argentinian Malbec was yummy. I cannot imagine why someone found the portion sizes too small, we both had the club sandwich and ended up taking a doggy bag home with half of the tasty triple-decker and the perfectly cooked chips. I can't believe it’s taken us 15 years of meeting every Friday to discover this place! In our defence, we generally met halfway between Warwick and Coventry, and targeted country pubs, until this year when my dad reluctantly gave up his driving licence at 88. One thing's for sure – we’ll be back every month from now on.

We came in for the football and it was an amazing experience! When England finally scored the pub erupted with joy and cheer and it felt so fantastic to be apart of. We’re looking forward to coming to see all the other England games and becoming one with the community! I would definitely recommend this pub to all friends and family. Especially since the beer garden is humongous!!

We found the staff to be really friendly here and enjoyed sitting out in the back garden in the Sun to have our food. The burgers were tasty as well as excellent chips. A perfect place to enjoy a drink and food in the sunshine.

I have recently moved to Warwick and find it great every time I visit The Black Pug. I pop in for a coffee after walking my dog and often visit with my granddaughters for some food. Friendly and welcoming staff. Would always recommend!

Staff too miserable first time in a long time I haven’t tipped

Went here today for breakfast,had a small cooked breakfast, sausage and bacon burnt, egg frazzled, hash browns missing on two breakfasts, they brought hash browns out, and when tried was still frozen in the middle, we did say to the bar staff about this he said I will pass it on, been here before and always had good food, won't be going back.

Absolutely disgraceful. One of the managers is disgusting to the customers. Must have a very sad life disrespecting women who drink in this pub and speaking to them awfully. Got it first hand myself. Told me and my friend that we were fat and disgusting while smoking outside. Absolutely vile human and it’s just allowed. Not be coming back that’s for sure…

I have waiting half hour for my burger, when I asked the lady she said burger need 40 minutes, 40 minutes passed someone come to me said next order is me so wait more 10 minutes, so sorry I can’t wait , just refund, thank you First time and last time been there I guess *£16.5 one burger that experience not nice

This is not only our local but also a good pub . Well kept beer and food. Big good garden in summer and now with added sunshine since the covid tent has come down. Family and dog-on-lead friendly.

VERY SLOW SERVICE!!!! The restaurant missed our booking for a party of 15 despite we rang the day before to confirm. The table was NOT ready and not cleaned at all. The food was SO SLOW it took almost an hour for everything to arrive (not at the same time, the first person finished 45 minutes before the last person got food). Very unprofessional kitchen and untrained staff. Drinks are ok but pricey. Would not come back.

Ran out of beer, lots of menu items not available, but what they did have was tasty. Staff were great...

Food was ok - it was pub grub, Sausage and mash was nice as were the pies. Service was so slow and they missed our desserts and we had a very long wait. They did Comp' some stuff so that was good they acknowledged it. However the Knickerbocker glory that they sold should go under trades description act. Is was so small it would have been better to call it ice cream and some fruit in a tub. Pointless giving long spoons - It would have been better with teaspoons. I hope things get better for them as on the whole it is a nice place and this may have just been an off day.

Burger at £16.50/£17 is bordering on daylight robbery. Felt like an £8 burger with a slice on unmelted cheese, a cheap burger bun and chips served on a fancy bit of wood. 25 mins for a drink, 45 for food, all to be served a very disappointing meal. Decent atmosphere if you want to watch the sport, and to be fair the staff were trying their best don’t want to have a dig at them. Just think the value for money isn’t there on the food at all. Pricing structure all wrong as it got our expectations up

Lovely pub. Had lunch and drinks here. Came back in the evening. Had drinks, atmosphere, excellence and also having breakfast.The Breakfast was excellent Pictures attached . The Black Pug was one of the best things in Warwick

I recently visited the Black Pug for Mother's Day with my other half and his mum, after seeing some of the other 'Pugs' on Instagram for a while. They took our booked at very short notice and were extremely accommodating. It's a really cosy space, good vibes, the food was so tasty and the staff we incredibly attentive on what would have been a very busy day for them. Thanks very much for looking after us!

I always love visiting the black pug. Everyone is super friendly and can't do enough to make you have a enjoyable experience.

The black pig is one of the most amazing restaurants we have ever been to. We celebrate all our special moments there. I booked a reservation to make sure we got a window seat for my boyfriends birthday, they were very accommodating, the staff is always amazingly friendly, the deviled egg of the day is one of my favorite things ever, and the food is always amazing. Every. Single. Time. And I’m a food snob lol. There are not many restaurants I would even leave a review for. But the black pig is worth the trip, the money, just all of it. I hope they stay open forever and ever and ever.

Super busy, whilst it was lovely we were packed in and hard to enjoy food. This may be due to it being a Friday night but has put me off visiting at the weekend again. Otherwise it was lovely

Tried their "new" share platter roast that they introduced yesterday, although it looked good the food was luke warm and the beef tough... hopefully with some improvement of dishing it up hot and serving to customer sooner will impress clientele..

Xmas do for the family. Good food and great service. We had the room in the corner to ourselves so was a bit chilly in there but the atmosphere in the pub was great.

We went today as they do deals on burgers 2 for £20.00. Burgers we're great really good value for money.

Came here for a work party, had a great time! Staff were very accommodating, and even gave us a private room that had become available! Food was pretty good, although the all day breakfast wasn't great at all.

Atmosphere of 10 but perhaps it is not an ideal place to eat. We went for breakfast and tried the Eggs Benny and the Baked Greekish Eggs. The eggs benedict were overcooked so they didn't come close to being as we expected. The Greekish eggs were not particularly tasty either, the cheese was potentially soft and we missed a little salt and pepper in both dishes. The atmosphere is a 10. It is undoubtedly a place that is perfect for having a beer with friends and listening to live music. High price for the quality of the food. The service was good.

Loved sitting outside and having a drink. It's got a huge garden compared to the Leamington Pugs. There's plenty of gluten free food options - the pizza is especially good!

Lovely garden but food waiting time on Sat evening is 70 mins, so likely my last time there. Also the food is not impressive.

As a vegetarian I ordered onion rings and received onion rings with a battered octopus. Getting a refund is expected however I wouldn’t come back and trust their food again.

Enjoyed chilling in the garden while waiting for our food. My kiddo ordered the PFC which was very flavorful. Would highly recommend. Same for the filthy chips. In fact, everything we ordered was great. I don't think you can go wrong. Even a "basic" Caesar salad was far from.

It is very quirky inside and has a great selection of drinks. We didn't eat, but the seating area outside looked great, and the menu looked good

We waited 45 minutes for 4 breakfasts. It was only when we asked for an update on our order that we received any customer service. When it did arrive, one of the plates was missing bacon and the other one had REALLY unripe avocado. The menu described it as 'smashed avocado' but what we got was avocado chunks which were inedible as they were so hard.

A really lovely pub with a gorgeous outdoor area and fantastic staff. My only recommendation would be to further expand the vegan options (building on the great veggie options).

A great pub with parking and a sizable beer garden. Even has swings for the kids. There is a great atmosphere which combines the old and new. They have themes evenings and Tuesdays is quiz night. The guest ales are always a bonus for a great night out

Visited Thursday evening - great garden and service. The dinner menu is extensive but we all agreed that nothing really jumped out... Quality was good, portions were on the small side for the price. As a pub for drinks and a quick bite, fantastic. For dinner... I'd look elsewhere.

Wow wow wow. Where do I begin with this place?? This is by far one of the best places we've had Sunday lunch (and we love a good roast!). I am vegetarian and so had the nut roast and my husband had the beef & chicken. It was delicious!! The portions sizes were incredible, you get such good value for money. It's also dog friendly had has such a welcoming atmosphere. Shame we love 1 hour 40 mins away but we will certainly be returning soon, it was that good!!!

Came here for lunch on our way back to Manchester. Great outdoor space, definitely a plus if you travel with children or dogs. Food was good and so was the service. We waited a bit for the food and the overall could have been a little bit warmer. The roasted potatoes were a bit on the burnt side, while some of the veg needed a bit more cooking. They were all still tasty. Meat was cooked well. The gravy could have been a bit thicker but that is just a preference. I would recommend and come back if in the area.

Awesome pizza decently priced, especially on Mondays with the 2 4 1 deal. Friendly helpful staff. Straight shot from Warwick Castle to end the day well before driving home.

Nice pub. Expensive! diet coke pint on tap £3.50 Burger ( the egg man) and chips £16.50 You don't get that many chips in a tiny bucket, no salad, small container of coleslaw. Burger was massive and taste good but still left feeling hungry afterwards. So for £20 meal it's poor value. They do a deal apparently 2 burgers for price of one but that isn't available on Sundays. Nice setting for the pub and the beer garden is lovely.

Food was so so nice. I had a spicy chicken burger. (Harrisa chicken)and my boys had the the egg man burger and chips. The chips are the best I've had in long time

Pre booked a table for two. Arrived and were seated on a small table by the window. Ordered food at the bar, starters and mains. Food all came out at once which was a shame given that the menu clearly shows starters and mains. The waitress did offer to see if the kitchen could keep our mains warm but we declined. This also happened to another table of customers so be aware. Food was OK but by the time we'd eaten starters, the main meals were not very hot.

Very nice meal that we had on Sunday . only let down was the price range it came to £60 when asking should had been £8 pounds each apart from that the meal was tasty staff was helpful they work hard Thank you Mr Mrs Furniss would come again .Try keep the price down about .

Didn't like the over crowded feeling I got there due to the amount of people watching Rugby ,but I realise it goes hand in hand with a public house.Its nice to be able to sit outside again now.

Was lovely to return to this pub after many child hood memories of visiting. The beer garden was just as big as I remembered the staff where friendly and polite. I loved the look of the outside bar although wasn’t open at the time would definitely return if in the area again

Ordered the roast chicken, and half a chicken turned up on the plate. Delicious as long as you like garlic. Served with big Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, parsnip, carrot and vegetables in a side dish.

Had dinner 6 of us Saturday 1st April. The pub was super busy and a very large group came in and blocked the whole bar area. Not the pubs fault but they were really noisy. We couldn't hear ourselves think and couldn't talk to one another around the table. Food was mixed. Burgers wete very nice. There wasn't really any consistency of portion sizes as one had far more chips than the other. I had the fish and chips. It was nice but quite greasy which gave me issues later that night. 3 of our party had belly pork. 2 of them struggled to cut it. Would be better served with a steak knife and would have been great of the crackling was crispy and fat rendered. Sadly served with frozen green beans. That is the easiest veg to cook fresh takes no time at all. Shame. Dauphenoise potatoes again not consistent in size 2 of the meals had very small portions. We were told that they had been let down by a staff member phoning in and it showed. We didn't get sauce bought after we asked and we couldn't get another drink so it was a shame. I would try it again as the menu was nice. Maybe I would avoid Saturday night.

Food was of standard quality: Fish & Chips, Hawaian Pizza, Steak & Ale Pie. Food was a little tepid but they reheated it without fuss. Pint of BeavertownGamma Ray was £7.50 but note there is a compulsory 10% service charge added so was actually £8.25. Felt it is worth paying a little more at the Star & Garter in Leamington as food there was of noticeably higher quality - and a pint of Purity Longhorn is £5.50 - with no service charge added.
