It's a great place concerning Preston! Nice food , good selection of beers,It took a while for the food to arrive but in general it's a nice place with outdoor seats and a car park. The food was great.

My husband and I love eating at The Black Bull for a number of reasons. The staff are always so very attentive. Superb car-parking facilities. The food is served promptly and always boasts a wide choice of menu. Each delicious serving always represents SUPERB value for money. Often, we are also emailed with special offers and ALWAYS at our birthdays. How good is that! We cannot fault the place. We even have to compliment the hostelry’s after-care. On our last visit, we mistakenly failed to enter our vehicle registration number into the required logging machine. Some 14 days later, we received an invoice from Euro Car Parks requesting payment. However, one quick call to ‘Dayle’ at the Black Bull and the problem was instantly solved. Thank you Dayle, customer service at its very best. Thank you also for one of the most delicious desserts my husband has ever tasted during his EIGHTY long years. Your Chocolate Munchies Sundae was pure heaven! From our home here within the Ribble Valley, we’ll have to visit Preston much more often! Our sincere thanks again to you all.

I have just recently (8th April) been involved in a training course at The Black Bull, they let us in before their normal opening hours so that we could all get set up. The staff were amazing with us, not too pushy but always there for when we needed drinks! we ordered our food in the morning for our dinner break which was at 12pm. The food was all brought out within 5 minutes of 12pm which you could tell was freshly cooked due to still being hot! The food was also amazing, highly recommend the Crispy Chicken Ciabatta! Overall an amazing experience, thank you all at The Black Bull.

Our food took an hour to arrive despite it not being very busy when we arrived. The food itself was mediocre, mixed grill was poor quality, overcooked and dry. The children's meals were small and disappointing, only 4 pieces of scampi for one of them, not enough for a hungry 8 year old. The child's cheese burger was wafer thin, overcooked, served in a stale bun and only had a tiny square of cheese on it. The curry was okay, probably the only thing worthwhile in the whole meal. We decided to order pudding but we're disappointed to be told two of the options we wanted weren't available. It then took a further 45 minutes for the puddings to arrive, insane considering it was only a portion of ice-cream, an Eton mess and a waffle. The Eaton mess was completely melted and had no cream, the ice cream consisted of three tiny scoops. Overall we were very disappointed and won't be returning or recommending eating here to anyone.

Thank you to Dale, assistant manager, for chatting to my elderly Dad and making our visit a real pleasure. The food is quick and delicious, the staff are brilliant and the whole pub is fabulous. Good to see the Black Bull is still such an important part of this community.

Quite possibly the worst experience I have ever witnessed from a pub and staff member Dom in particular. Avoid if you wish to be belittled and ignored three times when next in a queue politely waiting. Disgraceful staff!!

We entered an overcrowded pub with only three staff members working at the busy bar. After waiting for approximately 10 minutes, a staff member finally approached us. We informed them that we had reserved a table 12 hours prior, but they claimed we weren't registered and initially couldn't accommodate us. However, after some discussion, a table became available in the bar area where we intended to dine. Unfortunately, the table was dirty. The manager promised to send someone to clean it and provide additional menus, but nobody came. After informing the manager of the issue, she wiped down the table with a dry cloth and gave us a few more menus. The QR code on the table didn't work, so we couldn't order online. After waiting for a long time at the bar, we eventually ordered our dinner. One of our party members required a gluten-free option, but the choices were limited, leaving them disappointed. Despite being informed by the manager that there was no wait for food, we waited approximately an hour for our meals, only to find them served cold. The gammon was tough and overcooked. While we acknowledge that the pub may have been busy due to a previous football match, our experience at the Black Bull was disappointing. We are unlikely to return in the future.

Been going in here for many years. Never have I ever felt so degraded and belittled. A certain bar staff member called DOM was extremely dismissive, Rude and arrogant. My friend and I had been waiting in the queue for a while whilst he look passed and served everyone else before us. When confronted, he said “you’ve got your drinks so just allow it” couldnt have been more unprofessional if he tried. Terrible attitude and wont be returning. Ashame because its always been a great local pub

Good food and good service when there, but did receive a £100 parking fine from euro car parks for parking in The Black bull's car park but contacted The Black Bull and spoke to Daly the manager who was brilliant and she cancelled the fine straight away.

Love food friendly staff and wasn't waiting to long for our food

Been a regular at this pub for many years (more than I care to remember)! My parents recently booked the private room for their 60th Wedding Anniversary. All I can say is that the staff, food,atmosphere were amazing! However, the biggest ‘shout out’ must go to Dayle. She was brilliant. So attentive and nothing was too much trouble. My 80+ year old parents and guests had a wonderful time. Thank you Dayle & staff - you’re a credit to ‘The Bull’.

Was a nice pub but felt very clicky. Was busy while we were there with the kids and not really child friendly. Like all ember inns the menu is quite limited but reasonable priced.

I cannot recommend this place and more. We had a big family get together of 22+ people. Fortunately for us they were able to seat us in our own private function room. The setting was perfect and the food was even better! Thank you so much to Dayle and the team for making our special occasion that little bit more special. We will be definitely visiting again.

No table service, service exceptionally slow, salad arrived with no cheese as described in the menu Would not recommend the black bull. Table was clean and quality of food was good

Oh this place is ace, twice we have been now on Sundays and we are super happy with our visits, smart roomy place with great food at great prices the staff also are brilliant, we got to know a lovely waitress on our first visit called Phoebe who had a lovely manner and was really friendly, on the second visit we met the manager Dayle who is the best lady for the job, professional, lovely and engages with her customers and gets to know you. Super, it's what I personally like and makes me want to return. And we will! Not to mention me and my daughter got a free gin on the app for mothers day and that was beautiful. Thankyou.

9th march - we had my gender reveal at the black bull on saturday and WOW amazing from start to finish! couldn’t thank Dayle enough for what she did throughout the day she went above and beyond as always! the buffet was unreal thankyou for an amazing day and i would definitely recommend!

Family of 6 visited for Mother's day. We can highly recommend the battered mushrooms starter and the roast beef rib was gorgeous, although slightly more gravy would be nice for all of the roasties. The battered sea bass was quite strong tasting but a good portion size. A bit more tartare sauce would be nice. The staff were friendly and we all enjoyed our visit.

Apart from the wait all I can say is it was worth the wait the food was outstanding staff were friendly and approachable, highly recommend the beef as it just fell off the bone ,Sunday lunch 3 course highly recommended, thanks dale table 28

Where do I start, I’ve had the app for the Embers inn , Blackbull Fulwood for a while and I would say for starter you need to get it as it’s full of money off, offers The place is great if you just want a drink right up to a family get together with food. We popped in for a drink and some nibbles garlic breads and some bear batterd mushrooms delish and not hurting the pocket either While im not into craft bears they do have great selection, I’m into my Camden hells larger and my good lady a Pino Grigio, The staff at the Black bull are always on point and you are not waiting long to be served, our hoste Dayle lovely lady who has all the time in world for everyone and stops for a quick chat and always asking if everything is ok To sum it up would I recommend DEFO And try the mushroom carbonara with 2 pieces of sea bass brilliant Tony June John Sonia

Nearly thirty of us had a group booking for dinner at the Black Bull and we all had a lovely evening. Dayle went out of her way to make sure we all had what we wanted, despite several items not being available after a very busy day and everyone really enjoyed their mains and desserts. We will definitely be going back for our next social!

Visited as we were In the area. Not our usual choice - large branded chain pub, but the beer selection was good and food was vfm. Don't expect Michelin stars but they don't pretend it is fine dining either. It does what it says on the tin and they are really good at it.

Me and my husband booked for Valentine’s Day , but needed to be nearer the toilets as my husband was on crutches. They re arranged our seating to do that , thank you so much we had a good night .

My friend and I visited for a meal before going on to the local Play house. We had booked a table. Ordering was easy, we had the 2 course evening menu. Service was excellent and the food arrived quickly and we thoroughly enjoyed everything. Nothing could be improved upon, we would recommend.

Very impressed with this impromptu visit, whilst in area. Staff very friendly and efficient. Very happy with our light lunch options - even accommodated my request for extra poached egg with smashed avocado! Very generous portions and excellent value. Decor and atmosphere were fabulous too.

We have visited the Black Bull quite a lot over the years, but last night was a mistake. The food was not at all good, my husband's Gammon was like a piece of bacon, his chips were cold, should have sent it back, he said it was like it it had been stood a while, I had Shepherds pie, it was okay, with cabbage thrown in side. One bar member was rude, wanted an sprizer Aperol, said we don't do it, so second drink my hubby took the menu to show him. It was busy, mostly people drinking. Could have done better with the make over last year. Will only be popping in for a drink now. Definitely the meal wasn't worth the price.

Friday night, terrible bar service, serving regulars and ignoring others, so we walked out. ( 6 people in our party). Thank you for your reply but I take exception to your casual dismissal of my genuine complaint.

Three of us had lunch today. Excellent service, felt like the staff actually cared which was really nice. Food was hot and tasty, coffee was hot, not always in some establishments so a welcome change. Will be going back some time soon.

We visited the Black Bull on a cold Tuesday evening early in the New Year. The pub was warm and inviting with an ambient atmosphere and friendly, welcoming staff. The menu was varied and extensive. We each had starter and main course. Our order arrived promptly and we all found our meal choices to be absolutely delicious. I got the impression that the place is extremely well-managed with pleasant and attentive staff. We will certainly return for food and drinks in the very near future.

What can we say. We come every Thursday, but we came for a family meal on NYE. Dayle and her team were fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious. Dayle organized a cake, balloons and everything we need to have a perfectly beautiful 40th birthday celebration.

Went for meal and drinks on NYE. Slow and generally unfriendly service at the bar, and there was no order on app available. Also lots of items not available, including the festive menu that we booked for... and poor attention to detail/ customer service with our order at the bar meant we didn’t get a starter as requested. At 8.50 (10 minutes after finishing our main courses) we went back to the bar to order dessert but the kitchen had closed without any notice. When we confronted the waiter about missing starters, he just came back and provided a receipt saying we didn't order starters, and didn't ask if we still wanted them or even apologise. It's ironic that the review asks how much was spent, and that was about £25 for two main meals, so £12-13 each, yet we were actually willing to pay double that for a starter and dessert each, which we missed out on. I got the impression that evening that the pub’s primary focus was for drinks for locals, and not on providing an excellent festive dining experience as advertised. Although there was a good atmosphere and selection of drinks, I definitely wouldn’t recommend anyone to go and eat here.

We had a wonderful time at Brunch with Santa. The whole experience was fantastic. We have a family member who is autistic and the environment was was so calm and relaxing. The staff were very understanding and had empathy. We will definitely return and pass on our experience to family and friends. Children with special educational needs have limited places to visit so it means alot to us all as a family that we can socialise in a way that other people take for granted. Thank you very much to the landlady and staff for providing an exceptional festive event.
