A group of us had bottomless brunch for my friend's birthday and James and team couldn't have been better!! I've been to some places where Bottomless brunch is a bit stingy and the servers take ages between rounds, but this was the opposite!! They were absolutely on it and made sure we were always topped upand having a good time. Food was also great! We'll definitely come back

The Birkett Tap is a spacious and lively pub with plenty to offer. It has two well-maintained pool tables, a darts area, and a solid selection of beers on tap. The atmosphere is relaxed yet social, making it a great spot for a game or a casual drink. Definitely worth a visit if you’re after a mix of good drinks and entertainment.

Vivian and James went above and beyond to provide excellent service, so accommodating to meet my requirements. Can’t fault it ! Definitely will bring the rest of the girlies to this charming bar with Pop world in close reach who would wanna leave. Would recommend if in the area !!

Came for a bottomless brunch and were very well looked after by the team of 3. Drinks and food were brought out swiftly and everything was tasty. Great value for money and Tiloola, Viv and James were great hosts and very patient to put up with our group. Would definitely come again.

Gran brunch sin fondo, la comida era muy buena, tuvimos las pizzas y estaban deliciosos. El servicio de James y Halle era excelente, eran muy atentos y súper amables, lo recomendaría a cualquiera y sin duda volvería!

I do like the place as it's large has a dart board, two pool tables and a lot of TV screens and booths. It's quite relaxing some nights and others they have good bands. Service is always good. Food is what you'd expect from a bar.

The Birkett Tap is a really nice restaurant/pub to go to for some nice food and good vibes! It was quiet when we visited but there was still live music and the staff were really friendly.

Nice atmosphere but some miserable bar staff on this occasion unfortunately.

Horrendous atmosphere, incompetent and rude staff. Can’t even display basic manners when serving customers. Ordered food via the app to which we waited 40 minutes, before asking if there was a wait, to which we received a response of “Oh you ordered on the app? We haven’t checked if any orders have come through”. Food delivered just shy of an hour wait, pizza was under cooked and dough balls were solid. Plates lobbed on the table with no apology from staff for the wait. No offer of condiments and they couldn’t even be bothered to clear our table from empty glasses when food arrived. The bar was dead with only 3 tables occupied, staff were more interested in having a social between themselves at the end of the bar opposed to actually doing their job. Avoid this place like the plague, other reviews mention similar / identical experiences from other customers. 0 stars would be more fitting than 1.

Great prices and delicious food. Come on a Wednesday to scoff down on some 40p wings. Come earlier though as we missed on the hot honey wings, tragic. The kitchen closes at 8. Karaoke was fantastic really good vibes and a really safe environment. Bethan is a fantastic barmaid, make sure she gets a raise.

Great place. Fell into it cos it was enroute to a restaurant, came back because of the atmosphere. Karaoke on a Tuesday! We had an amazing time. Big shout out to the staff, Jody and Beth.

Reasonable venue with a good selection of beers. Food menu looked good; however it is shame the staff are unable to communicate the most basic of information. Turned up around 7:40pm, asked if the kitchen was open to be told it was. Came back to order food at 8:30pm, to be told the kitchen was closed at 8pm. I simply can't understand how the staff are not trained well enough to relay very simple, but important information. What a shame.

Visited the Birkett Tap this evening and had an amazing time. The manager Edo could not do enough for us and was so attentive. We had an issue with our food order and he fixed it without any issues whatsoever. He made our visit excellent.

Asked for 2 drinks at 9pm and was told abruptly they were shutting very shortly Either they want business or not Not the way to encourage customers to return

This is a lively and friendly atmosphere. The staff are great and the food was pretty good.

We had booked in advance to watch the rugby matches on Paddy's weekend and have food and drinks. Since half of our party were not drinking alcohol we were delighted to see so many non alcoholic alternatives on the drinks menu..turns out they had zero stock of any of these advertised drinks. We were told they do a drinks order on a Monday so they have run out. The bar staff were embarrassed about the lack of stock and most fridges were empty. The only semi positive about this place was the food was pretty good for sharing nibbles (although the pizza was almost certainly frozen). They had also run out of plates even though barely any tables were getting food so we were given napkins instead. Overall, it was so disappointing and we will never return. Management needs to seriously take a look at how this place is run.

Awful quality food. I would not recommend. We ordered a burger each and it was terrible quality. Not a food pub at all. Had no baked beans for our son on a Saturday lunch time. Very strange.

Came here for the England v Scotland Rugby game and was served by Jess. Had a problem with our order at the start but she sorted it quickly and still managed to make our experience during the game a good one.

Beautiful venue with the most amazing staff. Was served by Abbie and Halle and the service couldn’t have been better. They went above and beyond to accommodate me and my friends. Will definitely come again :)

Jess was the rudest and most surly barmaid I've encountered in nearly 40 years of going to pubs. Dirty tables, overpriced drinks and sticky carpets.

Really not good today to be honest. Hopefully it’s a one off. Bar staff not looking to serve, no communication to customers. Friday night, 6 nations - clearly understaffed, and the staff that were there seemed disinterested. Waited a while at the bar to be told they’re not serving food, sat back down, saw food being delivered consistently over the next 30 mins, so ordered on the app and food turned up. Why the lie at the bar? Seems counter productive. Overall disappointing - likely will just go over the road next time.

Pizza box's arent perfectly square but other than that. Lovely place and people all round.

Only went on a quiet night but it was good. Bartenders were lovely and when I had an issue with my pint of Hazy Jane, they quickly exchanged it to a Lunar Haze after a cracking reccomendation. Shame about my mates putting some chips that were left on the table in my pint but it is what it is 🤷‍♂️😂

Me and my partner visited the Birkett tap on a busy winter Saturday, we enjoyed the 2-4-1 cocktails, she enjoyed a couple of tutti frutti and I had the passionfruit power which was delicious.

Visiting the city for a few weeks. Staying round the corner. Walked pass the place a few days ago and knew instantly that this was the place to be able to relax and watch super Sunday football and also the rugby. The guys in there was very friendly and even was helpful enough to suggest things to do when I'm off work. I will defo be back before I leave. I need to finish the stamp card lol

£7.40 for a pint of Kaleidoscope. The pub wasn't busy. It's such a shame. The place is great. I'd happily come here, but the price just isn't sensible. Staff were friendly.

Really friendly staff , food is average and every time we visit various things unavailable , variety of broken fixings in the toilets and hand dryers out of action , during the day it’s usually very quiet although i suspect gets busy in the evenings, prices are cheap

Came here with my partner and our dog on a rainy Sunday early evening. Staff were really approachable and helped me with my allergies. Very clean pub. Pretty displays too! One of the bar staff even brought a bowl of water for my dog. We ended up ordering a sharing starter to nibble on and it was huge! Prices are reasonable and quick service. We’ll definitely be back!

Went in there about 2 weeks ago on a Friday had a female vocalist on acoustic guitar, she had such an amazing voice very different I'd pay to watch her, it was a shame I had to leave.

A decent city centre pub - not sure what people expect (looking at other reviews) but we found everything to be as expected. Decent food and a range of beers and ciders and the staff were attentive (we were served a couple of times by a guy called Jude who was great). Went to watch the football and rugby and would go again.

Came here for fatchers aze with my dad, served by the fabulous bartender Jude who was very fierce and welcoming would definately come again .

We ordered a few side orders to share each was £3.50 The portions on chips and onion rings were as expected, but 2 slices of baguette for the garlic bread was not acceptable for the money. Beer prices seemed to be the same as elsewhere in the city. The staff were friendly. But the highlight was sitting with AS Roma fans to watch the football. The Birkett tap is the home to this official AS Roma fan club. ❤️💛❤️💛❤️

Food= good, small portions Atmosphere= great live music, relaxed feeling Service= -5 stars! A terrible experience! We had to wait 10 minutes in between each meal being served, and then a further 40 minutes for the last 2 meals for our table which came out both incorrect. Staff gave no apologies, we had to move our own tables together despite booking ahead. No concern or care for our welfare. No cutlery, no condiments, no salt and pepper. For a 21st birthday celebration, this was horrendous!

We just left the bar, 6 people serving and only 4 people waiting. All 4 of us still waiting and the staff still looking busy doing nothing

We went here on Friday night for a night cap before heading home. We ordered drinks sat down, were told 5 mins later it was last orders in 10 mins. Then 10 mins later our table was cleared away, doors locked and we were left standing outside with our drinks. In your defence you do list your closing time as 11pm and it was almost 11pm. But perhaps mention to people buying a drink 10 mins before close that you're closing in 10 minutes and give them the option to go somewhere else. Quite bad service to take our money and then kick us out, especially on a quiet Friday night! Sorry, but we won't be returning any time soon.

I had pre booked a table for 5pm, on arrival, 15 minutes early we were told that the manager had to be consulted, I presume because we arrived early, but the place was literally empty. After a few minutes the bar person reappeared to tell us that we could sit anywhere, all a bit odd. We made our choices from the menu but on ordering I was informed that they didn't have one of our food options or the ingredients to make the cocktail my wife wanted, it was 5pm on a Saturday afternoon, not last thing at night! We decided to leave and go elsewhere. Really badly run and very disappointing.

+ A very spacious pub, with ample seating and tv's on many walls (handy if you like sport) - Drinks were dearer than elsewhere though
