We chosen the Bells of Peover as our wedding venue as we celebrated a very intimate wedding with some close family and friends. Tracy was wonderful helping us with everything, and It wasn't an easy thing to do as we live abroad, even so she managed to make all the arrangements really easy for us. The food was stunning and the staff was great. I'm gluten free and I knew I could rely on the chef, he made sure that all my food was free from gluten and that I could eat everything on the menu. The day was just perfect.

It took 20 minutes for the waitress to come over and acknowledge us and take the drinks order. We had to ask about the specials , soup of the day etc because there was no explanation. I don't know if they were understaffed or something but it was hard to get the attention of anyone. Food came out quite quickly but it was lukewarm mostly, I had to send the chips back as they were warm not hot. One duck portion was fine, the other was very tough and again arrived lukewarm. The risotto was bland. The food used to be amazing but in the last 2 visits it has been a bit of a disappointment. It's still a nice place for drinks in the summer but food is on par with wetherspoons.

A a bone-shaking drive along ‘The Cobbles’ takes you to this fascinating building of 1839 (it looks older). Seating is well spaced out and service is good, though there were a few waits. We both had duck and cranberry pâté to start, then I had chicken breast and my husband had haddock, which the waitress accurately described as a whale. There were two chicken breasts, which I certainly didn't need! Obviously no room for pudding. Anyway, dinner here provided an agreeable change from the hotel where we were staying for the Tatton Park Flower Show.

We used to be regulars so were looking forward to returning. Menu had been cut down to the bare minimum, it's a bit bizarre that in 2024 they didn't have a proper vegetarian main course on offer. The menu on the website isn't what's actually available, we wouldn't have gone had we seen the actual menu. On a fairly quiet thursday, It took nearly an hour for the food to arrive and when it did the haddock was cold (they replaced it promptly) and about 30% of the steak was fat and inedible (we didn't complain about this but should have) Until the chef realises that vegetarians exist, sorts out their cooking and gets a better meat supplier, we won't return.

I was part of a group of 7. We had pre ordered as requested and were having mains only. Our table was booked at 1.30pm and we arrived slightly earlier. We were shown to our table at the allotted time but it was another 10 minutes before we had a drink order taken and a further 10 before they arrived. Our food arrived at about 10 past 2. The food was plentiful and pretty good. Our waitress was either rushed off her feet or just not friendly, either way we seemed to be an inconvenience. She also had the annoying habit of referring to us as ‘Guys’, despite there being one female amongst the group. We were offered desserts but it was pointed out that the next party for the table were here and they would need the table back in 15 minutes. We made a quick decision and kept the order easy. For an establishment with a great heritage and obviously well kept, the service was slow and not particularly friendly or welcoming considering the price.

Check your bill !!!!!! Had lunch after a lovely walk and tour of the D-Day exhibition in the local church. Food was good. My bill for 2 lunchtime special menu burgers ( £13 each) and a pint and half of Henry Weston cider was £50.05. After querying my bill with the bar staff the manageress was called and I was advised I had been overcharged and I would be refunded. I was refunded £10 (£5 per burger) but this still left my pint and half of cider at £14.05. Come on Bells this isnt right.

Approaching over a cobbled lane, the Bells of Peover came into view basking in glorious sunshine with a rather natty open top sports car from yesteryear parked in front, finishing off this picture perfect country pub scene to perfection. I'm pleased to say that the inside dining room, the staff and the food all simply built on this first impression. The dining room was bright and cool, nicely furnished and very clean and tidy. The staff were universally smartly turned out, pleasant and helpful. The food was fantastic. Being a bit of a traditionalist, I went for the roast beef dinner, I was presented with a decidedly large plate full of roast beef, Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, mash and assorted vegetables (sorry I can't recall what they were other than delicious - red cabbage I think was there, but I can't guarantee) Pudding was Sticky Toffee pudding with ice cream and one of the better sauces I've had in a long, long time. A cappuccino (decaf) finished of a wonderfully satisfying meal. I'll definitely go again.

Met my friend at this pub for the first time & it's tucked away, you actually go down a cobbled road to reach it.. it has parking & a large outdoor eating area with lots of tables & chairs, there is also a lovely old church just behind it in black & white, very quaint. The pub inside is old but so nicely decorated with comfortable chairs & tables, with a small bar area . It was lunch time so we just wanted something light to eat so we chose the sandwich which came with soup & chips, it was really delicious as homemade tomato soup. There are other meals you can have which they reduce down for lunchtime so really excellent value as they looked delicious. The staff were friendly & very helpful with good service. Our recent second visit sadly was really quite poor compared to first time we visited a couple of months ago. The service was very much lacking, no welcome when you arrive through the bar (this happened the first time too) - one staff member sat at tables folding napkins ignored us, another one on a laptop did the same. Finally after we were stood there awkwardly being obviously ignored, a blonde lady came out, no smile and with quite an abrupt manner took us through to the dining room. The table we were sat at was right under a speaker playing cheesy rock music at too high a volume. We asked to move tables. The food was just ok this time, nothing special for the price and totally undercooked and soggy fries were served with the burger, which was dry. We asked for them to be done again, they were a bit better this time but still seemed like frozen fries. The first time we visited we got fluffy and crispy wedges which were nice and clearly home made. It was also chilly and I kept my coat on to stay warm. The service was the main thing which would put me off coming again. One young girl was pleasant but clearly lacked training, the other blonde lady was quite abrupt and we felt like an inconvenience. Staff members seemed to be sitting down at tables with their friends to chat and talking really loudly. Overall very disappointing and we won’t return.

Kids food quality and portion sizes all good, but as for the adult cheese pie with mash/chips/fries and veg… what came out of the 1/3 filled pies was very runny cheesy liquid with a few small chunks of potato. The veg was a tiny serving of cabbage (nice but tiny) and the fries were ok but slightly under cooked and again a tiny portion. Third time we’ve been here and really not sure what went wrong, compared to both previous visits, which we both 4+ stars. Maybe it was the fact is was 4pm on a Friday and not a Sunday. Oh well!!!

An idyllic setting in a lovely Cheshire hamlet, involving traveling up a cobble road to takes you to the Bells. Clearly proud of their connections in the area with the former US Air Force Base They have some lovely internal areas and have made excellent use of the outside space, which must be very busy during the Summer months . All of the front of house stuff where bright and attentive and there was very little weight between courses or for pre-dinner drinks. My partner and I opted for the roast beef Sunday lunch a beautifully presented plate however I felt the roast potato had hardened somewhat and had lost some of its flavour. The beef was succulent, and I particularly enjoyed the red cabbage. The Dessert menu caters for all tastes and we were not disappointed. Two course meal for two, with wine and coffee came in at £115, which is what I expected in the area. I look forward to visiting again to find the fire lit in the cold months that will be coming.

Attended with a group of friends and had the pleasure of tasting the new menu. I had the rib beef hash followed by the duck. All was exceptional! The staff where great and the wine was also fantastic. The staff were on top form and the new manager and his partner where very welcoming and the pub has such charm and character. I couldn’t have enjoyed our visit anymore and can’t wait to go back. Thanks for a great evening!!!

A tucked away special place in the heart of Cheshire. Steeped in history and has been the best I’ve seen it in over 30 years. The new menu is exceptional and worthy of an outstanding rating. The pub has a vibrant atmosphere both inside and out in the newly furnished outside area. The quality of the food and the service that we received cannot be improved. I particularly loved the lamb, the pig cheeks and the halibut. ( I can’t mention the sticky toffee pudding as I wasn’t allowed to have it !) It is clear that the staff and owners are very experienced and have an eye for detail. The team had smiles on their faces and a clear ability for service. I will become a regular once again. I just wished it was closer to south Manchester. Great work to all.

The food was really great, one of the best Sunday roasts, starters were also really lovely and the location is very nice. Unfortunately the service really let the pub down, it was really slow from the beginning and all the customers were shouting over to waitresses throughout the meal just to order drinks, food, condiments, ask for the bill etc. Upon being seated we had no drinks menu, we waited 15 minutes and no one came. Eventually I managed to grab a waitresses attention after she served another nearby table. I asked her for the wine list, the waitress proceeded to tell me they had white and red. We ordered 2 large glasses of white wine, 2 beers and 2 pepsi. When another waitress served the drinks, she decided to tell us that it would have been a much better deal to get the bottle of wine. It was a bit late at this point as the drinks were already on the table and we didn't have a menu.. Upon ordering food the waitress told us the Sunday lunch, trio of meats was beef, lamb and turkey... however when it came and it was beef lamb and duck... luckily we like duck but I know a lot of people who don't. Items were missing off the plate, which was fine they were busy and the waitress was apologetic and brought the missing items. We were not offered water for the table, I would think that's pretty standard for the price. The lady that served our food was very rushed off her feet, even so she came back to check on our food which was nice, whilst the other waitresses appeared to be wandering around aimlessly waiting for customers to grab their attention. We also saw them huddled together chatting each time we used the bathroom. We decided against ordering a dessert because no one came to take our order, we just wanted to leave by this point. When we asked for the bill, the waitress  said she would need to find the waitress that's been serving us.. I was a bit confused by this as we had several different waitresses throughout the service, I don't actually think we saw the same waitress twice at our table. She came back and told us our waitress had disappeared, and gave us the bill. We asked for the 10% service charge to be removed, we tip based on service and unfortunately we found the service to be quite poor and 10% was a lot as this was already a £200 meal, it felt too much to tip £20 for a service we didn't really receive. There is a note on the menu to advise that the service charge can be removed with no questions asked. Unfortunately, this was not the case.. the waitress told us that she had just started her shift and wanted to know why, this was a bit awkward. She then asked if it was the food, we said the food was great other than a few missing items. I don't think I'd return unfortunately.
