A beautiful day had lunch in the garden, i love their fish finger bap its delicious. The staff are really friendly.

Birthday meal four ladies.Food was superb,service was excellent.Will be visiting again.

We always have a lovely time at the Greyhound whether it is for a meal or a quick drink. The staff are lovely and welcoming. A great venue anytime of year; roaring fires in the winter and a lovely garden in the summer.

A good value and wholesome lunch. Prices at ok also. You will not be disappointed at pirtion sizes. Great cimfortable atmosphere.

Food is excellent especially the steak! The portions are perfect for filling the tum tum! The staff are amazing and very helpful. A very clean and tidy pub and beautiful beer garden. Would definitely recommend

I’ve recently eaten in the greyhound twice in the past 10 days. Both of which were absolutely exceptional, the members of staff are so friendly, helpful and genuinely care. The food was delicious, one was the Sunday lunch with all my family and last night off the main menu, equally as good. You run a great establishment. Thank you so much. I’ll be seeing you all again very soon.

Lovely country pub, log fires, nice staff dog friendly.nothing is too much trouble and the food is great.

Lovely pub with great food , helpful staff and food was really good too. Highly recommend a visit if like us out of the area and doing a drop off at the airport,so had a meal here and chilled out in the garden, locals really helpful and friendly too then drove the 15 minutes to the free drop off and headed home

Great staff, good food, thoroughly recommend it.

The famous chips with bbq brisket beef are sooo delicious. The service was good. The only problem was arrived 20 mins before my son and his girlfriend who are just 17. When they came in the pub the man inn black shirt said if your ordering food it's at least 40 mins. The pub was quiet, there were loads of tables free so I believe he was being a bit mean because they were young. Anyway my son came and sat with me and ordered the famous chips that didn't take long at all.

We were passing and decided to call in for a snack. We only ordered starters and they were very good. The ham hock terrine was delicious.

Food was delicious, great value for money with the 3 courses for £20. The service was bang on, wasn't waiting long for plates to be collected, being seated in the garden normally you can be forgotten about. Only downfall was the dogs, one or two off the lead. Intruding while you eat, or a dog taking a dump, I'm not sure if there's a policy that require dogs to be kept on leads. Would definitely return though and would recommend.

Nice Pub,enjoyed a family meal. Plenty of seats inside and out. Service was swift and pleasant. I had the Chicken Cesar salad which was nicely presented and filling,the only however was the addition of sugar snap peas 🫛 which I didn't think worked with the salad,however the mange toute peas did.

We hosted lunch for 24 of us for my Dad’s 70th yesterday - everyone at The Greyhound went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely time. From pre-ordering the food to bringing out the cake, everything was super organised. The food was delicious and the setting beautiful. Highly recommended for a group booking!

Nice pub lovely food, they cooked a meal that wasn't on the menu for one of our party ,we had a great time. Staff were very helpful. We would definitely go there again.

Amazing meal and going there brought back many memories of my teens when we all went there.

Great place to have lunch especially out in the garden whilst the sun was shining. It was very busy but staff served drinks and got the lunch order out promptly. No complaints with the food, I enjoyed the Mature Cheddar rarebit and the sticky honey and chilli halloumi fries.

This review is a bit late, because we visited on the Saturday 20% day..!! The food, the service and ambience were exceptional. Well done, Greyhound..!!

Came in for lunch with my little family and I had a very pleasant time, this little pub is very clean and the staff are so warm and welcoming, our waitress Jodi was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed, the food was excellent, I had the chicken with mustard sauce and my husband had the ham and mustard pie, from the lunch menu what a great deal that is!! We will definitely be coming back for pie of the day, it was the best pie I have tired. Will definitely be visiting again

I only came across The Greyhound while browsing Google for a pub restaurant, so I booked a table for Saturday teatime. Anyway, we had a great meal. It's not a massive menu, but that's what Gordon Ramsey recommends, so that's what restaurants do! Yes, we will call again to be part of the Cheshire Set! Had a Sunday sharing roast and all the meat was undercooked and everything was cold ! The sprouts were frozen and that was the only greens on the plate . Five very small roast potatoes for 2 people . Pigs in blankets undercooked also. Paxo stuffing I think . Really disappointed as had a drive to get there . Food should always be served piping hot . I didn’t say anything at the time as my daughter asked me not to .

Called in at the Greyhound on a whim. Ordered a meal for two. I have to say that the duck was absolutely fabulous!

First time here. Beautiful live dogs in bar. Fancy upscale dining room, lovely service staff. Vegan options (about 6 various). We had wine, beer, mains and pudding, hot chocolate for £56. Was delish. Everything was perfect. Then fireplace bar for after dinner drinks. 🥰

Best Sunday roast in the Altrinchsm area for quality and value. No matter how late in the day it is. Very friendly service and food arrives very quick.

The pla e looks and feels lovely and the food tadted really good. The problem was service. After waiting for 20 mins to place just a drink order, it wasn't great. We then waited over half an hour after our mains were cleared to try and order dessert. We eventually gave up, took a long time to track someone down just to pay. There were empty tables so not exactly busy. The gluten free options were really limited, I was told it was always this way on Sunday, goodness knows why. The one started I could have had run out so we didn't have starters. All in all, it was a big let down which is a shame because when we did get food, it was lovely. Just a shame it took nearly over 90 mins for one course.

New years eve meal. Still a meal that did not seem like a massed produced plate. Excellent service from Jordan others and the manager. A great night out with music and general lively atmosphere. Only downside was the weather on the night.

Was with family for Sunday lunch, the portion of beef was very mean considering the price of £17+ & the veg was cold which I find quite often in these 'chain pubs'. Maybe I shouldn't order a 'lunch' but that's what I go out for. My other family had ordered different meals and they were piping hot so why can't you deliver a lunch piping hot ??? The Yorkshire was OK and not one of the 'air filled' ones you can get in some chains but at least it seemed to be homemade but was a tad greasy at the bottom which I didn't eat. Just makes me wonder if the staff or chef would have thought this acceptable ?? Maybe they should sample their own 'wares' 1 day to see what they think and give feedback. I didn't complain because my food would have been taken away thus my family would have had to wait for mine to be brought out again and making them wait which is totally unfair in my eyes. Hot food on hot plates please all the way. I have yet to find a place.

Came with a large group for a prearranged Christmas meal. It was easy to organise from the start. The staff were very helpful, the food and service were excellent and everyone in the group enjoyed the evening.

Our 1st visit for a long time, busy country pub close to the town. Great menu, food very tasty. A few basic errors (served on cold plate, Broccoli spears not sufficiently cooked for their size) We will be happy to return though 😄

We had a very nice family meal here - the food was of a decent quality and there were some good veggie options available. It was very cosy to visit on a cold day and whilst it was reasonably busy they were able to fit us in even with a late reservation on a Saturday. Service was fine, though could have been a bit more attentive - both the food and bill took quite a long time to arrive. Overall we had a good experience and will return.

We came here for a family birthday meal for 6 adults (3 couples) on a Saturday lunchtime to celebrate my birthday, along with our 3 dogs. The staff were friendly and attentive and there was a good choice of food for all tastes on the menu. We all agreed it was a very positive experience so my husband and I decided to return for an evening meal the following Wednesday. When we arrived we saw there was a special deal midweek of 3 courses for £19.95 - incredible value! The food was equally good as on Saturday and again we had great service from the staff (including biscuit for our dog!) it was a cold night and we were given a cosy table by the log fire. The atmosphere in the Greyhound is lovely and it is obviously kept spotlessly clean and tidy. It is just as good as anywhere we have eaten near to where we live in the Lake District - I wish it could be our local!

Our first visit and we were really impressed to the extent that we have already recommended The Greyhound to friends. We will visit again at the earliest opportunity.

My wife and I gave up on gastro pubs as they were usually a let down. The Greyhound is anything but a let down. The service was very good, the food was great and we will visit again at the earliest opportunity.

I booked ahead as I’d read good reviews on a Tatton Stays website. They confirmed by email in a very friendly manner, & confirmed our dogs (well behaved) were welcome, plus sending me a reminder a week before our booking. On arrival I mentioned my name and was shown to our table straight away. The service was friendly, nearly all six of us had different food & no one was disappointed. Prices were very reasonable & service excellent.

Cosy proper country pub. The atmosphere is so homely and comforting. Great place for food or just to pop in for a drink whilst walking passed.

Normally a great pub and experience. On this occasion things fell short of what we have come to expect….. loud groups of men standing at the bar swearing etc, put in the bar instead of main restaurant, far too many items unavailable, food waiting time, items missing, Luke warm food,. It didn’t completely ruin the celebration meal but it wasn’t far off.

1st visit as we were in the area. Tower Burger was very good. Fish pie came with uncooked pieces of salmon and had to be sent back. Replacement was fine and it was taken off the bill

We went for a Sunday roast and it was definitely the best Roast I have had. Such a lovely pub, the service was fantastic and it was very reasonably priced considering the quality of food. Highly recommend and I will be coming back very soon. Thank you!!

When we are visiting the area from the United States to see family, we make a point of coming to the Greyhound Pub. It's a favorite of ours, always welcoming, food and drinks always excellent!

Wonderful Saturday lunch - food and drinks - wine beers and slimline tonic for one ! were all fabulous and the food - steaks and gammon were yummy - beautifully presented and a lovely lovely way to spend a Saturday pm - we’ll be back when that log fire’s on for a snuggly one !

Went here today and what a gem of a pub it is! It's well cared for both inside and out. Service was really quick and the staff were friendly and accommodating to our toddler. The food was tasty and worth the price. If we're back in the area again, we'll be back.

Our party of four had lunch on Sunday. There is a good selection of ales and lagers and a couple of us went for the Manchester Pale Ale, a good choice. The Sunday menu was a varied range of food with choice from about 8 starters, a similar number for mains and desserts. The food was lovely, filling and perfectly cooked. Lunch was to catch up with long standing friends who we hadn't seen for some time but we had a great catch up over a most enjoyable meal and never felt rushed. The Greyhound was easy to find and ample parking, a venue thst we will visit again.

Came here last Sunday with my daughter. We both loved it. The food was delicious and the staff were so friendly and polite. We will return!

Idyllic, well-established country pub in a beautiful setting. Nice decor. Staff friendly and attentive, great food and dog friendly, which was great for my sister's dog. They even have jars of dog treats by the door! Nice garden, too, for sunny days and a good sized car park. They were advertising quiz nights as well. Would recommend!

It’s been quite a while since my last visit but we weren’t disappointed. A lovely birthday meal for my sister. Well looked after and wonderful food. One of our party is an Italian chef and fussy about his food but literally wolfed his food down, well done Greyhound 🥰 On the plus side, very dog friendly but subtle for non dog lovers. We’ll return.

Staying at holiday inn express at Manchester Airport the night before our flight . Looked for somewhere close to have a meal and came across the Greyhound. Arrived about 7pm, it was quiet in the restaurant, and ordered our meal ,I had the fish and chips, waited about 15 minutes. Got to say they were delicious.

Always a great restaurant for proper pub grub that's full of flavour and doesn't skimp on the quality. Part of a well established chain of Green King restaurants so a good choice of ale and wines, and this is why I say the above, for a chain it feels and gives a service like a quality independent restaurant would. Quiet for a late sunny Saturday afternoon but the staff were very friendly and attentive as more people began to enter. A great restaurant well worth driving out of town for.

Revisited to take part in their fortnightly pub quiz. The night was good, came last in the quiz, but it was very hard, HONESTLY! Was celebrating that my op to remove cancer was 100% successful. 🎉. Back to a normal life but with a stoma, but is a good talking point to introduce myself to people! The free sandwiches and chips half way through the quiz were a welcome break and possibly the reason which my team came last!

Perfect, not often you get to say that but honestly I couldn't suggest a single thing which could have been better. We were welcomed on arrival and shown to a table (no booking, just a walk in). All the staff were friendly, helpful and knew their pub. I had steak and ale pie, served with gravy, garden peas and chunky chips - everything on the plate was perfect, a proper slice of pie full of tender braised steak, crisp chips and even the peas were cooked to perfection. There was a choice of Manchester beers (I'm sure there was other stuff too but I didn't look!) and the puddings were delicious. Friends had blackened Cajun chicken burger, butternut squash tortellini and "Legendary"cheese and onion pie - they all felt the same way about the quality and standard of the food. The atmosphere, early afternoon Saturday, was ideal, friendly not too quiet but not loud, and of course, all the staff were - perfect. Can't recommend this place highly enough.

Have been going to the greyhound for years booked for my sons 40th a month on 5/5/24 in advance . We never sit in the bar area alway restaurant. I no you cannot guarantee a specific table . However it should have been taken into account where we usually sit (restaurant) . We were sat in an alcove opposite the toilet (my pet hate) so we moved to empty alcove behind . We were then told to move back as table was book for 20mins was disappointing we moved we had been there hour /half no one came to said table !! They eventually came as we were leaving. It was a total disaster from start to finish & ruined my sons birthday . They did however come out with a candle I his paid for dessert . I was made to feel uncomfortable whats happened to loyalty .....

A nice country village pub which is a Lees tied pub. We didn't eat there so can't comment on food. It has a lovely outdoor garden which is ideal for sunny weather when we went, but it is generally a quiet locals pubs, so can lack atmosphere at times. Beer and drinks and good value

We often pop into the Greyhound for a drink after a long working week, it's such a super little pub and always has a great atmosphere! Mike on the bar is always friendly and cheerful. He always remembers faces as well as the drinks order accordingly. It's a real pleasure to pop in and have a chat. He even turn's his hand to cocktails - we tried his apple pie and it really was a treat. I'd definitely recommend it, especially when the sunny weather comes!

What a wonderful country pub. We came here as a stop-off whilst cycling. The welcome was lovely, Michael couldn't be more helpful, recommending beers (and even let me try a sip when I was stuck between two. He was very friendly and seemed to genuinely care. He's a real asset. We'll definitely be back when we're next in the area.

We came in on Sunday in the hope of a table, as based on the car park this place is very popular! We were greeted by Michael and he made every effort to accommodate us and our dog. He apologised that a table wasn't available immediately but if we had a quick drink he'd show us over as soon as one became free. He was very busy but made time for us, chatted with my children (and even found some meat for dog). True to his word, he showed us over to a table quickly, the food did not disappoint, and the busy car park proves how good the sunday lunch is! We had the sharer (which is gigantic), with unlimited yorkshire puddings and gravy and my children had fish and chicken. They even got free icecreams as part of their meals. I recommend this place to anyone thinking about a nice, friendly sunday meal with a great atmosphere. 5*
