We were looking for somewhere for a big family lunch that was central for us all to get to from around the country. So, I didn’t know what to expect but from the start Jane and Andre were incredibly helpful and came up with a lovely fresh menu of seasonal food. We had a room to ourselves and had a great afternoon out. The food was delicious, and Jane and Andre did everything to make us feel welcome and relaxed. Even though they both must have been very busy getting us food and drink they never made us feel rushed and nothing was too much trouble for them. There were some very good wines and beers and also a great selection of no/low alcohol drinks which was welcome as so many of us were driving.

Excellent experience. We wanted an evening meal at the beginning of the week for our wedding anniversary. Very few place were open and even fewer offering gluten free. Andre and Jane opened specially for us (with 24 hours notice) and we had a fab meal. Andre cooked and served a wonderful meal. He was attentive but not over bearing. The food was a very high quality and all fresh produce, freshly cooked. The gluten and dairy free choice was very good. It was an evening we will remember for all the right reasons for a long time to come. Thank you so much Andre and Jane.

My husband and I were looking for a place to eat just outside Evesham on a Friday evening. We came across the Cropthorne bell. We entered and were greeted by the lovely landlady Jane. We asked if they were serving food. Yes, was her reply we then chose a table and sat down. We soon became aware of the incredibly friendly atmosphere in this pub created by Jane. Nothing was too much for her and her chef. We had everything we asked for and more. I would recommend this pub to anyone even if you just want a drink. I would give this establishment a 10 out of 10. Unfortunately, we were just on holiday in the area I really do wish this was my local. Well done Jane.

We were travelling home from Pershore and saw this pub and decided to call in for lunch. We were welcomed by Andre, the owner-chef and were invited to choose a table, inside or out. As it was a lovely day, we sat in the garden. The menu choices were good and Andre assured us that the food was locally sourced and that he cooked all the food. We ordered starters and mains; my starter was local asparagus and was so lovely. My dining companion had carrot and ginger soup and declared it was delicious. I had a veggie burger, which was accompanied by a couple of salads and chips and my companion had a fish platter. We were both very happy with our choices. Even though we did not need to eat anymore we both had enjoyable puds; sticky toffee pudding and rhubarb crumble. We both agreed that if we lived locally we would make a regular trip to this place. The beer and cider is local, too, and it is great to have food like this. A couple on the next table said that there choices were happily tweaked and they also declared that they thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Give it a go - you will be pleased you did.

Possibly the best pub meal we’ve ever had. Hearty, generous portions yet proper, refined food cooked by an actual chef. Everything seemed to be cooked from scratch. Loads of gluten free options. Amazing friendly service and attention to detail, but nothing stuffy or pretentious. A real fire.. …This is the pub you dream of when you’re looking for a pub lunch in the countryside, and there seems to be nothing around but chain pubs and defrosted meals.

Called in here for a drink on the way to friends to dinner and my husband and I waited patiently at the bar for nigh on ten minutes while the 'barmaid' had a conversation with someone else... not even an "I'll be with you in a minute". We left. We know pubs are struggling and we like to support what we see as an important English institution, but it seems this pub doesn't need any new custom, so don't bother giving them any.

Staying nearby in Evesham we googled nearby places for an evening meal and chose The Cropthorne Bell based on previous good reviews. It’s a very homely pub, decorated internally with a wide range of diverse, interesting and unconnected things. Jane is a very welcoming host, recommending her favourite wine and offering a tipple before we committed to a glass. The meals we ordered were great - fillet steak and fish n chips. Both cooked to perfection, tasty and good sized portions. We struck up conversation with a couple of locals and their two ploughmans looked very impressive indeed. When we go back I plan to try a ploughman’s myself. Jane was good company and attentive throughout. Thoroughly recommended.

We were on our way back from Stratford when we made a last minute decision to call in at the Bell late afternoon on Sunday. We received a very warm welcome from the young lady behind the bar who asked us to sit down and then brought our menus and talked us through what was available and the beers on offer. I chose the roast beef and my wife opted for lamb, both were very good indeed with a large amount of meat, roast potatoes, a Yorkshire pud and some parsnips. We were then given a dish of Vega tables including carrots, broccoli, cauliflower cheese and cabbage. Mint sauce and horseradish with a lovely kick was also offered and accepted and I haven’t enjoyed a Sunday roast so much in a long time.We were too full to have puds which was a shame, but we will certainly be back to try those in the future. At £12.50 a head, I felt we had value for money, they do also do a smaller size and children’s sine dishes and you can also prefer off the main menu.Well worth a visit if you are out that way.

We had an absolutely lovely and relaxing Mothers' Day lunch here yesterday.Just about the warmest & most genuine welcome from Jane we've ever received in a pub/restaurant.The food was excellent, so fresh and beautifully presented. My chicken was delicious - not seen roast chicken served like that (boned, stuffed, rolled and then sliced) since my parents-in-law ran a pretty top-notch restaurant in the eighties.Sooo much more a pleasure to eat than trying to hack it off the bone.Loved the fresh fruit homemade meringue - not often you get homemade meringue - and lovely and gooey and chewey in the middle just like it should be.Everything homemade, hand-prepared, nothing mass-produced. My husband said his dark chocolate tart was to die for.And our daughter raved over the pork belly, a delicious twist on the traditional pork belly which is seen so often on menus these days Compliments to the Chef(s) indeed.Lovely staff who were friendly and onthe ball, despite it being a very busy day. There was a relaxed unhurried atmosphere with no sign of anyone flapping (pretty unusual on Mothering Sunday of all days!)I think The Cropthorne Bell is fast becoming our favourite local go-to.

Country pubs have evolved into either restaurants that sell beer or more traditional pubs that sell food. The former is the kind of place where you would feel uncomfortable if you just need a pint. This falls into the latter category, you could turn up and drink some of their excellent local beer, feel very welcome and depart a happier person. To do so would be as shame as the food is plentiful and rather delicious. If you were to go to one of the former category, the food may be presented beautifully but there would be less of it and it would cost more, I doubt it would taste better though.I had pork with an excellent sauce rice and bits of veg. I could happily do it again. The others had sole and gave favourable responses and made appropriate noises. The pudding was pretty good, I don't do sweet things normally so I don't have much to compare it to but I was assured that the minimum of sugar was users and I enjoyed it.Nice cup of coffee to finish. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive.Around £70 for 3 people, food n drink

If there was a 'good' rating it would be more applicable than average, but very good would have been a bit too much. There was only 1 other table occupied - and no others as we left - which says a lot to me if you do a good sunday lunch. So, not the greatest ambiance. There is nothing particular I can put my finger on that would have made it very good, everything was good, and if we were passing would probably give it another go but I wouldn't go out of my way.

We dined here for my son's birthday. Staff were very freindly but the food was poor. My sirloin steak the worst I have had. It was mostly fat and gristle and was burnt. I'm used to chat grilled but this had the taste of charcoal although it was rare inside. The burger my daughter had was burnt as was the roll. And I mean black burnt. All round the food was of poor quality. The staff were very apologetic about the steak but when it came to paying they took £6 off the bill, even though the steak was £15.50, because i had eaten the chips and salad. Overall a hood night out spoiled by poor food.

Having spent a couple of days in this area, we decide not to have a meal in our hotel, checking trip advisor we saw this inn had great reviews, on arrival we were offered any table we wanted, we decided to have dinner in the nook, light were put on for us, once seated me he's were given and drink order taken, we decided to share entrees with a side order of dipping bread, the Asian fish cakes were very nice served on a salad, nice dressing, we then each had a different main, fish, chicken, lamb, venison all cooked to perfection, all served with there own selection of potatoes and veggies, then came the decision to have dessert, Anna recommended the damson and ginger crumble, which was ordered, apple pie, sticky date pudding and the chocolate tart all a very good size and yummy, so I highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed and good value for money, a high five for the chef.

Trying to get an evening meal out on a Sunday was proving very difficult, as most seem to do only Sunday lunch. However luckily for us, yesterday, we found The Bell Inn. There were twelve of us and we were going out to celebrate my birthday. We had the most enjoyable time. The meal was excellent. Staff were so friendly and service was spot on. After our meal the waitress brought through a birthday cake which was made by one of our friends and they gave me a birthday card signed by all the staff at The Bell. What a lovely touch. Thank you all so much. We will be back.

I had planned to meet some friends at the New Inn in Cropthorne but it was closed for a refurb. (Pity the web site didn't mention this.) So we went just up the road to the Bell and were not disappointed. Two of us had the gammon steak with egg, chips, tomato and mushroom which was excellent. The third member of our group had a sausage, egg and bacon ciabatta plus a side salad. We sat in the conservatory but there was a log fire in the bar area. The owners were very welcoming and the service was great.

We went for Sunday Lunch after a period when the Bell had been closed for some time. It used to be our favourite Sunday lunch, but now I have been left disappointed. The price was the same as it was before it closed (Opened again Nov 14) but the roast beef dinner was not too good, very hot, like it had been microwaved, it was tough too, like it had been microwaved. The Roast potatoes tasted like they had been re-heated, the Yorkshire pudding was only just cooked inside. The veg and roasted parsnips were good, however that didn't make up for the rest of the meal. We had expected a better meal to be honest and I doubt we will go back again. It's a shame as it always used to be excellent VFM and a tasty Sunday (Beef) lunch.

Can't say I was very impressed, decided to eat in the lounge as the dining room I felt was not as nice and did not match the atmosphere in the lounge. We eat out a lot and felt the food certainly did not represent the price. It was over cooked and over priced the people there when we went were noisy loud, with ill behaved children, we were recommended by a friend, perhaps we went on a bad day, but certainly would be in no hurry to rush back

We had an average meal here - expensive for what it was and we are used to the prices you pay when eating in London. Sea bass was nice but sautee potatoes were awful, the mushroom and garlic sauce with the steak was minus garlic and slightly cheesey! Our starters were not great. It wasn't bad and we wouldn't have complained but it is a bit frustrating to pay over the odds - if pubs are on the high end of the price scale they ought to be able to produce better quality. I can't say I would recommend, there was no atmosphere and it was cold in spite of a number of heaters. However 10/10 to the staff, they were helpful and friendly.

Enjoyed lunch on Boxing Day with a party of 6 of us. All three courses were excellent. I had phoned when booking to enquire if they could do me a different veggie meal to that which was on the menu. Very pleasant & helpful about this, & it was served to me on the day without my having to ask about it. I was impressed! We all enjoyed our meals very much, & were pleased with our choice of venue for this special occasion.

This was my first visit to the Bell following a recommendation from a friend who ate there in the Summer. Firstly I was disappointed about the temperature in the pub as it was cold and a number of the visitors were sat at tables in their coats. I personally felt the the food was overpriced, was nothing special, and did not represent good value for money. I am afraid I would not recommend or eat at this pub in the future.

My partner and I went here for Sunday lunch and were terribly disappointed. The beef was clearly boil in the bag, the Yorkshire pudding was like cardboard and the potatoes were as hard as rocks. Not worth the £13 each we paid at all.

passing en route to Oxford one evening. Pub looked good but expected limited pub grub as usual especially as I am coeliac. What a surprise, full gluten free menu, great staff and service and very reasonable prices. The food was fantastic. Happy to travel to this pub regularly, almost felt normal! Well done to all concerned. Other pubs etc please take note, you could learn something from these guys.

I was at The Bell Inn recently but it was not my first visit. I've have been here many times and although I try different restaurants in the area, this one is by far my favourite. It never lets me down and I just can't help returning here. The food is always perfect as is the service. The portion sizes are good and I have never ever had a bad meal in all the times I have been to The Bell. The restaurant itself has a lovely feel to it inside and I always feel comfortable. It is suitable for all clientele - couples, families, friends etc. I most definitely recommend The Bell Inn - it's amazing!

I've visited the Bell on many occasion and not been let down with the standard of the meal, the price, the atmosphere or the service. On most occasions I have eaten the steak, although I've also visited for their festive menu and found it to be very good also. Without a doubt I would recommend this to friend or colleagues.

Had a carvery lunch at Norton Grange today, somewhat reluctantly after a poor experience in the summer....pleasantly surprised to find it outstandingly good!Gorgeous, perfectly cooked & generous portions from beef and gammon joints and a wide choice of vegetables which were well cooked and beautifully presented. The new head chef has made a massive difference to the food quality and it is unrecognisable from what was on offer a few months ago. Prompt and friendly service and a relaxed atmosphere. Spread the word, the Norton Grange is back!

Food was very good we had the chicken enchiladas and chilli. The only complaint was the chilli portion was on the small side compared to the enchiladas. The staff were very friendly and quick to take our order. The pub was a little cold so we sat next to the fire (very cosy).

This once was our favourite place for a carvery. Booked a table for 24 when we arrived it was for 22 the plastic cover on the carvery defeats a carvery it's ridiculous and slow service we all ate at very different times. Claim it's for hygiene the person serving had some dirty tshirt on and the girl was flicking her hair behind the screen I get it's hot but take the plastic screen down for God sake and let customers help themselves definitely will not be returning as its the 2nd bad time we've had now and it's quite an expensive carvery for the service. Very disappointed our whole table were disappointed. Also why put the sauce at the beginning of a carvery? Have to push back all through the queue to get to sauce
