Thrid visit! Superb. Food and service were simply brilliant. Cannot fault Javatri at all. We ate at 8pm on a Saturday there was a private function, The restaurant was busy but not too full so the atmosphere was just right. Starters were very enjoyable especially the chicken Tikka sashlick. We ordered a variety of dishes for our group of four, Tandoori king prawn, fish moolie and butter chicken, lamb. All were delightful, not too heavy on the spices (accurate to their descriptions) with incredible depth but not drowning out the more delicate flavours. However, I did notice that the portion sizes were slightly reduced compared to previous visits. While this didn't detract from the quality of the food, please don't do this in the future. Javatri was recommended by Indian friends as being their favourite restaurant in Maidenhead, and it certainly lives up to that. We will return soon.

We visited Javatri/The Bell & Bottle in Maidenhead for the first time on Monday 22nd April with friends. We received an extremely warm welcome from Gurjeet, who was extremely polite and attentive for the entire time of our visit-Thank you. What a fabulous evening we all enjoyed and have already planned a return visit soon. My 5* Rating is based on the following; *Excellent parking facility. *Great, freshly prepared, food options offering Indian Cuisine or Pub food-Variety for Veg & Non Veg. *Warm ambience with the added bonus of Polite, Attentive and Customer Focused-Friendly staff. A great evening on every level. Anita

I’m writing this as I think some reviews here are unfair or biased. My wife and I visited Saturday night. There was a private function on and a large group already in the restaurant. Despite this, we felt the service was excellent and the team very attentive. We ordered and were told there may be a delay due to the numbers already there. The delay was minimal and the food was tasty. The atmosphere was a bit basic, but the food and service were good, hence 4*

We went to the restaurant for a family evening dinner. We were treated very well throughout the evening. The food was great. The restaurant was very quiet for a Saturday evening. Maybe location. We will go back again.

Came here for a meal on Sunday. Food was very good. It's a shame the waitress knew nothing about the menu though. We asked a couple of questions like "Is this dish dry or does it come with sauce?". She had to go and ask the kitchen.Nice venue with good food. The menu is quite limited - there were only 5 main chicken dishes I think, for example, and not the typical menu you might expect.

A really enjoyable eating out experience. The curries were authentic, full of spices and flavour. Excellent value for money. Very pleasant environment.

We were driving past the restaurant last weekend and noticed a takeaway sign had been put up during lockdown. As this is one of our favourite restaurants in the area we gave them a ring to see when they were open.We ordered a takeaway on Sunday evening to eat in our friends garden. They have a slightly reduced menu at the moment but still a great choice. The food was ready on time and piping hot when we collected it. As usual the food tasted superb. .The service, as always was impeccable. They only opened again last week for takeaways. So glad to see them again, we will be back again soon.

We came here for a meal last Sunday and really enjoyed it. The venue is nicely decorated and very spacious so you are not close to other diners and you have plenty of room. The food was delicious and there were some different choices from the usual meals served. I would definitely recommend and come back again.

I have eaten here twice in the last few weeks and will continue :-) to do so. I have eaten in Indian Restaurants the world over, including many in India. It's rare to have such good cuisine in the UK. The waiter made sure I was happy with the spice level as I ordered somthing quite hot. It was indeed hot - but very tasty.

Visited on Christmas Eve with friends. Very quiet with only two other tables occupied. Different from the usual curry fare but very tasty. We all loved our starters and mains and will definitely return.

Been visiting this place for couple of years on and off as its local to me. This time I had the worst experience. The food was just below average. Portions were tiny and even the butter chicken in the mains had no flavour in it. Service was just horrendous. The two hostesses looked busy even though there were only 7 or 8 people sitting in the entire restaurant on Friday evening. They are advertising on taste card but when I mentioned to them I was been told that they don't take taste card. Spoke to Alex and she couldn't care less. Won't be going there back. Couldn't care less either.

Amazing and authentic Indian cuisine. This is not your typical Indian restaurant serving the same old, same old.If you want authenticity, take a visit.Be warned: It’s freezing inside, both in temperature and atmosphere so wrap up warm. The place is huge, but virtually empty. Not what we expected for a Friday evening curry house. I would imagine the place can sit over 100, yet there were only 5 visitors, 7 including ourselves! The food really is very, very good though. A tad more expensive than most, especially the sides and starters however, it was worth the extra cash. They do a take away menu too which is verging on the edge of the typical Indian takeaway, and does not have the specialities you get when eating in.We’ll definitely go back, but not in the winter. There is absolutely no heating, and simply too cold to relax and enjoy.

Unusual take on curry, and really flavoursome. Great if you are a vegetarian, we went with one and she was delighted with the choice and flavour, Service can be hit and miss, but they are very polite.

Called up to book a table on a Sunday and they accepted my booking, however when I mentioned my tastecard it was refused. The reason they gave me was because they had a function going on?!?! Not sure how that affected me using my tastecard? Also you are breaking your own terms and conditions with tastecad. Don’t advertise on the tastecard website if you are going to refuse people with a tastecard...totally ridiculous!

I arranged to meet a business contact at a good midway point and Javatri was chosen. When we got there the place was empty and my colleague wanted to leave but I persuaded him to stay as I said the food would be freshly prepared. Well I won that argument, the squid as a starter were fantastic, the two mains we had flavoursome, spicy and hot, as in freshly cooked hot. There was one chap serving, he did it all with grace and politeness. The naan bread was the best I have ever had. My colleague was already planning his return with his wife before we had even finished the lunch; I too will be going back.

This place serves delicious curries, with some unusual twists and sides, in a lovely venue. The starters in particular are unlike anything I’ve had in any Indian but were delicious and enjoyed by all. However the painfully slow service brings the score right down. This was the second time we’d visited and I hoped the slow service was a one-off, but no, it just got worse. We had booked a table as a party of five, we arrived at 19:20 and there were two tables of two people eating in the main restaurant and a large group in the additional room. We waited over an hour for our starters, and were served our mains at 21:10. This is obviously late to eat so we just could not enjoy them as much as we should’ve. The waiter was very polite and apologetic but it brought down the whole evening.

We hired the beautiful venue at Javatri recently for our parents 50th wedding anniversary and the evening went absolutely brilliantly. Arun is a really lovely person to deal with and couldn't have done enough to ensure everything was perfect for and during the night. The food there is without a doubt the best tasting Indian we've had across Oxfordshire & Berkshire, and coming from an Indian family that should say a lot! The starters are very unique, the fish amritsa in particular was delicate and crispy, and the lamb curry was perfect! All of our guests commented on the high quality and taste of the food - thank you Arun for a wonderful night.

We frequently travel up to Maidenhead to see our son and I was looking for somewhere other than our usual place to stay and came across the Bell and Bottle which also has the Javatri Restaurant. Arrived on the Saturday and booked in with Arun who was a very nice guy and very helpful. He took us to our accommodation and the first thing that struck me was the cleanliness of the place. The room we had was pristine and overlooked fields to the rear of the property a wonderful view. The bathroom was spotless and had a large shower and was fully tiled which my wife really liked. Very large bath towels and soft.

Ate here last night with a group of friends. The restaurant is huge with a massive garden room big enough to hold parties and events. There is also a huge car park and great views from the rear of the restaurant where there is a small beer garden. The service team were very friendly and helpful but it was evident that they were short staffed. It only worked because the restaurant was pretty dead for a Friday night. The menu looked interesting, with a limited choice but the food itself under delivered. Every dish just did not quite hit the spot. I had the Railway Lamb Curry which contained really tasty lamb pieces but the sauce was not to my taste. Onion Bhaji was soggy. The Cobra beer was also not cold enough. Many small faults which if fixed could make this a destination curry house.

This is a great place for lunch. We were torn between the Indian and the snack menu (have had their Indian before and it was great) but went for the snacks in the end. Good choice and very nice food. Wonderful kulfi (suggest you lose the cream and cherry first) and the staff were lovely.

We had visited here before it changed names to The Bell and Bottle. The refurb is very nice and the restaurant looks lovely. Beautiful big conservatory to the back of the building where I believe they host wedding parties/conferences etc and there is outside seating to enjoy the lovely weather we've been having.

Finding a local take away is always hard, we moved from Hayes, as you can imagine the Indian take aways were great, we had many choices, but finding Rushi is a little gem, the staff are always polite and the food is lovely, we’ve made this our Saturday night favourite . I don’t understand why people have left negative comments. As the meals we have had have been so yummy 😋

We had enjoyed this takeaway for some time and were regular customers. Unfortunately our last meal was spoiled when a vegetarian dish was found to have chicken in it. My husband (who is vegetarian) found this out when eating the dish - a very unpleasant experience. Paprika eventually (after trying to insist on a discount on a future order) agreed to refund the cost of the dish, but the attitude, although apologetic, was one of "these things happen".

The restaurant was recommended to me by a personal friend. I was looking for something that offers good food, good service and authentic experience for my family’s visit in the UK. The food was mediocre, lacks taste and the portions are very small. It seems like the dishes are different colours but taste the same. The breads were very good though. The prices are expensive for what it is. The restaurant smells unpleasantly. I was sold on the promise of magic shows for my little cousin, and the experience, but other than taking our order, we did not see any of the waiters come up and even ask if our food was ok. I asked if the 3 portions of rice would be enough between the 4 of us and the waiter offered no comment other than just shrugging his shoulders. I don’t really like to leave bad comments, so I also told the owner at the end that the experience was very disappointing and he didn’t seem too bothered. Overall, the most disappointing meal/ experience we’ve ever had.

Went for the Sunday buffet. At first glance I thought there were only four options. But three of the serving trays you see in the first photo are divided into three compartments each. So you end up with nine curries (four vegetarian) and rice. On the side tables there is salad and sauces and dessert. You also get a naan bread included in the £20 price. The curries were all delicious but the lamb one is just amazing. Loved the vegetarian curry too. The naan was baked fresh and tasted very good. Had a look at their a la carte menu too and the selections looked very good and diverse. Would go back definitely.
