Mike was an absolute gem in welcoming us to the airport. A great atmosphere and fantastic service . All around a fantastic experience! Thanks Mike for making it a great start to our day before jetting off on our holidays!

This is an actual email that I have written to management! They only get a 2 rating beacuse the all day breakfast wasn't actually that bad!! Hi I'm writing with reference to a meal (sharer) namely "Loaded chips with cheesy bacon" that was purchased at The Beer House at Cardiff Airport on Wednesday 30th August 2023 in the afternoon. What we were served in no way shape or form resembled any type of "Loaded chips with cheesy bacon" that I've been served previously and unlike anything that I'm likely to be served in the future. I would very much like to hear your comments and would be delighted to know if you think this is acceptable? (Image attached) That said, I suppose you could argue the cheese was cut extraordinarily fine and placed on the plate "Masterchef" style and was even somewhat refined and pleasing on the eye and the odd touches of bacon gave it a contrast that would not be missed on a piece of art hanging off the walls of The Tate Modern but maybe just a little more of it wouldn't have gone amiss. I appreciate it is airport food and not a fine dining "a la carte" establishment but it did make me wonder as to whether I got to the airport on the correct date or whether it was in fact April Fool's day! It also made me want to commit a crime and end up in HMP Cardiff which is only a short drive away where I'm sure even the inmates would argue they get served more nutritious food and no doubt dine more elegantly but the only crime committed on the day was what I was presented with. Oh dear, Where to start... Place was stinking, guys behind bar not bothered to clear glasses when plane left, they were on their phones. It's a basic of bars/pubs business... I would be having a word if I was a manager.

Had a GREAT experience our breakfasts were very good, hot enough. Hubby said he loved his breakfast, which he rarely says. We adored our gorgeously delicious mochas. Had mochas also from Ritazza next door (queue empty there) which were no where near as nice as the Beer House. Tables clean and regularly cleared. Service was very quick. Very busy with plenty of tables.

The Beer House has plenty of tables, it is clean and the service friendly and quick. The food isn’t great though, as other reviews mention. It reminded me of school dinners in the late 90s. I wouldn’t eat there again but would have drinks. It’s a shame as if they could improve the quality a bit I think it would be more popular.

As we're waiting for our flights we had lunch here, and the food arrived within 5 minutes of ordering. The kids meals arrived with no peas, with no offer of an alternative or money back. The food was not good, the burger was green on the bottom, perhaps congealed fat or something, the mash looked like it had been sat there all day, lacked flavour, was not nice. We'll being sandwiches next time!

Went here whilst waiting for a delayed flight and was very hungry. I wish I had not. £17 for “sausage and mash” with a large drink. The meal came on a cold plate and was also cold. In the centre of the plate as though it was all thrown on with no presentation. Sausages were vile, tough and lacking any association with pork. Clientele were mainly rough couples knocking back the pints before their holiday flights. Never again. Avoid.

£10:99 for a watery coke and a vinegary white wine. Avoid. Go yo Ritazza or indeed anywhere else. Total rip off

Bit taken back £9.99 for a 250ml of rose wine? I no its in an airport but surely that's very expensive?

Just beyond bad! We ordered via the QR code link to get some pre flight drinks and brekkie. The app showed a bottle of house champagne at £14, which we ordered along with toast, a bacon sandwich and a sausage sandwich. When the drinks arrived, the champagne was just one glass. I asked what happened to the bottle and the waitress explained that it confused a lot of people (no kidding!) and that the picture of the bottle should actually be a glass…if we did want a bottle of house champagne, that would cost £75, but they didn’t have any in stock anyway! Total rip off and very misleading! The toast and bread was the cheapest, driest you could imagine. We got a refund on the bacon sandwich as it was like cardboard. Save yourself time, money and disappointment and just head straight to Costa.

Dined before our evening flight. No one else in the restaurant but 4 staff sitting at a table talking. Food ordered via ap and when it came this is what I got as fish and chips. The peas looked as though they were just passed on from a previous customer and the fish really poor for the price. My wife's all day breakfast was poor but not so bad that we would have complained, as mine was. When I pointed out the peas the waiter wasn't interested! Don't go there!

We were there a few weeks ago and because of the new Covid rules we had to sign in with an app! Difficult when we are not IT savvy and have old phones. Neil (I think his name was) was so, so helpful and really went out of his way to help us sort this out. Lovely guy, thank you Neil (hope I have his name correct?)

Had a meal here before our flight. I ordered the half chicken which when it arrived was huge. When I cut into it the middle of the chicken wasnt fully cooked. I spoke to the manager who couldnt have been more apologetic. He arranged a replacement meal and a full refund. He handled the situation really well and couldnt have handled it any better. I then had a burger which my husband had and it was really delicious and there was plenty of everything. Didnt expect a refund as meal was replaced but wouldnt have any issue eating here again. Everything else exceeded by expectations.

Recently visited for some drinks and a bite to eat before a flight - food was really lovely and service was excellent, especially Mike who was most helpful. Will definitely come again :)

It’s terribly quiet here at the airport, but the staff (especially Mike) have helped me pass the time with great knowledge on their gin range and with their good sense of humour. Lovely staff, reasonable prices...I wish this was my usual airport!!!

Thought we’d treat ourselves to a nice breakfast before our flight to Corfu but what a disappointment. We were served a congealed, cold mess which was seriously over priced. Never again.

My wife and I always arrive early at the airport, so we have plenty of time to enjoy a first class breakfast and a decent cup of coffee before flying.In between holidays during the quiet winter months I often call in for a good cup of coffee and pleasant welcoming chat with friendly staff, especially Mel & Charlotte, who always have a welcoming greeting for all customers.Submitted by Alan.

Nice layout and style to the restaurant. We were fortunate to be in the terminal at a quiet time. Service was quick (though we weren't pressed for time) and food was much better than the last airport lunch I had down at the rival airport over the Severn (Burger King... yikes).

There is not enough choice at Rhoose. There is this or Costa. This place is overpriced for what it is and is often so packed that it is off-putting. It is ok for a drink but food is not of high quality and prices ridiculous for what you are getting.

A very disappointed english breakfast.It was ready in Less 5 minutes it seems like it's was warmed in the microwave. The sausage was burned and the bacon raw, the potato rosti tasted awful. Paying £9.29 for this it unacceptable, not going to finish it....

Very hungry , got to venue , looks lovely , nice place , then get served this !! just cost me £13.49 ! Whole order was just under £50 , 2 chicken burgers at the cost of £26.98, disgusting price for something you could get at Iceland for a quid !!!

On the Edinburgh flight but was taken by coverage of the Wales v Uruguay rugby . Enjoyable beer and food , obviously a tad dear but that's airports in general . However , the vibe for the game , banter and cheerful staff made it all the more enjoyable .

We arrived early for our long haul flight, and the photo of a bacon sandwich outside the beer house caught our eye, £6.99 but understand that airport prices are high.

I hadn't used this airport in many years due to the costs, and finally found a flight close to home at a reasonable cost!

£12.99 for a burger, £12.49 for a chicken one and £14.99 for a portion of microwave chicken tikka curry an ding rice

Nice place to have a drink and a bite to eat before flying. On the whole staff are great but one or two could do with some training in customer service. Especially in the mornings. Always clean and tidy and has power sockets for charging if needed.

Ordered food and drink, £30. £6 a pint, a complete rip off. Food wasn't even second rate and beer wasn't that good either. Won't be going back to Cardiff Airport in a hurry. Fly from Birmingham next time at least there is a Wetherspoons and you get better food and beer at much better prices.

Burger was horrific. Paid about 20 quid for a horrible bun with a wafer thin dry and grey coloured pate. Looks nothing like the picture. Complete and utter false advertising. I don’t know how Cardiff airport can be associated with this place. I came here a year back and waited over an hour for an order so had to cancel. Seriously lacking behind other airports with this service. As it is the only restaurant there people have no choice if they want a ‘proper’ meal. God knows how much custom the airport has lost due to this ‘bar’. I live very close to this airport but always travel over an hour to Bristol if I can get to my destination from there and I suggest others do.

Well, I know you don’t expect too much at an airport, but at the price I paid, I did expect more than this! The pictures depict a very fine looking burger, yet I was presented with this tasteless offering. Pathetic attempt at best.

For an expensive breakfast, the least that could be done is to ensure that the food is hot. Cold beans and tomatoes, warm bacon eggs and sausages. Not recommended.

Sadly had to eat here due to flight timings; tiny portions of grease laden food with prices worthy of a Michelin star restaurant.

Just paid good money for an all day breakfast... to be honest it was shocking.. the bacon was cold, looked like it was done in a microwave. No toast but they give you chips... dreadful, ... keep well away

You're a captive audience in Cardiff as its this place or Costa once you're though to departures.

Fish and chips are a great value option. The food was hot and fresh and all the servers and especially the manager were very helpful and friendly. It’s great option for a meal before your flight.

No stars if it were possible! How this place gets away with it I don’t know. Prices are ridiculously high - way over what I would expect as a mark up and higher than those in pub outside security area. Portions are diabolical. Had a plate of cheese loaded nachos with guacamole salsa and sour cream - £9.99 what a joke. The cheese barely covered one nachos chip and was the size of a 10 pence piece. I complained and was told that is the portion size we have to give! I was given ‘extra’ - z second 10p size portion. Drinks are exorbitant. Tables remain sticky after being so called cleaned. I will be writing to complain but not holding my breath. As the Welsh Assembly owns the airport they should consider running this place as a cosher fair business or awarding the franchise to a well vetted company. WAG clearly doesn’t monitor the place! This place is not a good advert for Wales. Worst airport eating facility I have ever visited

Had 2 burger meals and 2 mixed fish baskets, 3 cokes and a beer at a cost of £80+

Had breakfast here before flying as there were no other options. Extremely overpriced, paid £34 for two breakfasts, a coffee and a Diet Coke. I expect higher prices in an airport but it seems ridiculous, especially as the quality of the food was low. The service at the bar was slow, however the food arrived immediately and didn’t seem very fresh.

We visited on 19th June and were served within seconds. The staff were professional, polite and very efficient. They set a really good example for customer service and worked really well as a team.

Cardiff Airport, bar tender seemed to have a problem using the computerised till, but was polite & happy. A side of chips & a large prosecco.... Rather over priced at £14.28..... Come on, you don't need to mark it up that much. Very expensive for what it was. Shame.

My advice would be to eat before you get here. Food is not as it looks on the boards. It’s most costly than the average airport restaurant and the portions are absolutely tiny. I had the smallest burger I’ve ever seen Staff are friendly though.

Food is very poor quality, the price is high and service lacking. You’re better off stopping anywhere else before you get here.

I was traveling to Ibiza for my son's wedding. I'm disabled and use a mobility scooter. I was traveling on my own for the first time. I was going through the restaurant looking for the smoking area when a lovely young man called Neil Harris saw me and asked if he could help me. I told him I was looking for the smoking area and he said then said he would show me where it was. Once there I had to go through two doors which I would be able to do if Neil was not there to help me. What I was sat there I was worried about how I would get out but I needn't have worried because Neil came back twice to check on me and the second time I had finished. He helped me back out into the restaurant. I was so thankful to him as he didn't need to help me as he worked in the restaurant. It just proved to me that it didn't matter to him where he worked he was happy to help and to me that is truly amazing service. Thank you Neil for making my journey such a positive start. I hope your boss knows how lucky they are to have you on their staff. Thank you again.

I'd expect to pay over the odds at an airport yes but the food was reasonable , well presented and tasty . I took Mike's (my server) advice and went for the fish & chips .... washed down with a great pint of IPA .....

Wanted to buy a pint and some food to celebrate a successful home nations tournament, as you do. To my HORROR I was met with extortionate prices, such as £5.90 for a pint of Strongbow Darkfruit and £4.50 for a tiny portion of chips (see photo attached).

Better to pick up a reasonable priced sandwich in WH Smiths. Be prepared for basic food and Jamie Oliver prices.

£7 for a sausage sandwich. Poor quality and had been cooked and reheated. This should have been charged at £4.50 maximum including the expected airport weighting. Even the staff were embarrassed as it appeared in front of me in record time.

Food is way overpriced, quality very poor. Cheap white bread, don’t waste your money, unfortunately they have the monopoly on food at the airport.

At Cardiff Airport and enjoyed a great ‘Beer House Breakfast’ and a Bloody Mary..... to start my trip off in style. Food was well presented, well cooked and hot. Service by Neil at the table was very amiable and cheery!

The staff were friendly enough but the all day breakfast was not good. Sausages and bacon were cold, tomatoes looked ill and the eggs were broken. £13.50 and you have to pay an additional £2 for toast and butter!

Ordered a 2 x Breakfast here on 22nd Dec 2018 before our flight to Spain. The food came to us cold. We informed the waiter and requested a fresh breakfast that was hot. He took them away and I'm guessing that he warmed them up in a microwave. When he returned the Sausages were shrivelled and the Beans were dry but, the food was now hot but wasn't fresh. We also ordered a glass of wine & a pint of Cider. The bill was extortionate. When we challenged it at the bar we were informed that we had been billed £8 Just for the Wine. Anyway, all in all a bad experience so will never return there again.

Stopped here before our flight, and found the prices to be even more expensive then what they were at the airport in Stansted !

Going home to Dublin for a Christmas weekend and stopped to have a bit to eat before my flight. Just about to order when this guy comes into the beer house very panicked asking about an envelope? The bar staff said no I haven’t seen anything as we watch the guy go around all the tables? The member of staff Andruus then goes to the cart that he has collected all the rubbish from various tables and s looks through the bin, to where he finds an envelope full of currency. He quickly approached the guy and the relief on his face was amazing. The guy asked the member of staff did he want any money for finding it, he said no and then politely said your welcome. He didn’t see me watching and then just went about getting to his next job, my order. Such a fab thing to see and was very heart warming!! Service excellent, food excellent, staff excellent by 100000% !!!

I was traviling from cardiff airport with friends, and I decided to try out the loaded beef burger it was delicious. Service was fast and friendly.

After an eventful morning we checked in and went to the beerhouse for a drink and some food, we were very happy with the level of customer service, the staff couldn't do enough for us. The food came pretty quickly and was also delicious prices a bit high but apart from that we'll be happy to go again when next flying for Cardiff airport!

I have been all over the world and I am a cafe latte lover. Ritazza (The Beer House) at Cardiff Airport has the best salted caramel cafe latte in the world. I was served by a very nice gentleman called Ben (Benjamin) and he is a real barista. I recommend!

Visited the Beer House ( Cardiff Airport) while awaiting a flight. Ordered two large glasses of red wine ( Shiraz) the bill came to £21.98. £10.99 per glass for a very average wine which would have been no more that £5 per bottle in a supermarket.

The service here is very good, Benn was very friendly and helpful, food was ok and nicely served.......but, the prices are criminal!!! The house wine £6.99, Shiraz £9.99....a glass!!! £4.50 a small bowl of chips. Sorry but this is robbery....on a large scale!! I'll be avoiding on next visit.

Bought a coffee here last week with friends before our flight. Served by a pleasant gentleman called Benjamin whom went out of his way to make sure our coffee was up to a high standard even though there was a large queue. Great customer service by someone who works well under pressure and values customer satisfaction!

In this day and age you’d expect a veggie sausage or two with a veggie breakfast! They are cheap, quick to cook and it’s not rocket science! I’m very disappointed with that, especially as I’ve been up since 5am! The server however couldn’t be kinder, more helpful or apologetic so that was appreciated!

Very surprised by the quality of the food.we have rated at airports many times, and been disappointed many times,but I have to say the food was fab. I had the gourmet burger and my husband had fish and chutand we both cleared our plates. Would definitely recommend

Having previously had poor meals here we decided just to have drink, we had 2 pints of Heineken which was undrinkable, I returned the half drunk beers to a member of staff who simply apologised, the pints are £5.65 each, I felt like it been mugged.

after arriving at Cardiff Airport we made our way to Departures to find that a large part of the passenger service area was given over to The Beer House, including the walk way for any passengers wishing to use the Smoking Area. A very small serving area and a very large motorway service station designed eating area with prices that match an expensive city center gastro pub restaurant.... 16 pounds for a burger and 12 pounds for a spirit and mixer [they did have cheap beer for around 6 pound a pint.] Wales may pride itself on keeping a welcome but this establishment and the general layout of the passenger service area and facilities in it were obviously designed as cash first and customer second.

We were off to Kefalonia on an early afternoon flight recently, and having been dropped off in the mid-morning, we hadn't stopped for breakfast. So when arriving in the remodelled departures hall, we were pleasantly surprised to find the Beer House served quite an extensive menu, airport prices of course, along with a range of non-alcoholic drinks. My wife chose the "Ultimate Burger", along with an "Americano", I plumped for the all day breakfast, with a cup of tea, and we struggled to clear our plates, with the portions more than ample. So suitably fortified, we winged it off to the lovely Greek Islands of Ithica and Kefalonia, knowing it would be several hours before we would be enjoying Lamb Kleftiko and Beef Stifado once again.

Had a burger with my wife whole waiting to board our delayed flight. What a quality!!! Awful dry food and you pay £25 for two burgers ( dry bread and chicken/ beef) and two glasses of diet coke. Absolutely appalling.

Disappointing Welsh rarebit - just loads of greasy cheese on toast with incinerated chips. Bacon and cheese burger was dry and just bad all round. Over priced - Cardiff airport you give people the wrong impression of welsh food and I’m ashamed. Of you.

Visited this establishment with my partner. The food is fab, slightly over priced .... served by Mike an amazing host. Couldn't do enough for us. would definitely return next time we're in the area.

Was over visting my Unlce and we came here for dinner. I had a buger and my Uncle had the fish and chips. Mike was our waiter and was very nice and upbeat. The food was very tasty and our plates were empty by the time we'd sunk 2 pints of bitter. Great food, great place. Will return!

Popped in after collecting some family from airport,havent been before.The staff were friendly and efficient,all were happy with the meal,i had the chicken tikka masala and it was very nice.in fact all meals had at our table were of good standard.Only downside it was a bit pricey

Was passing through today around lunchtime and had the most delightful fish and chips which came highly recommended from my server, Mike. The food did not disappoint at all in delivery but it was a tad on the expensive side - perhaps this is to be expected at major airports but I though this place would have separated itself from such madness. I do pass through quite often, but not always for food - and this meal would make me think twice next time, even though it was delish. Kudos to Mike as well for such friendly service!

I decided to have the Fish Mix when I saw Taylor taking it to another table. And I asked her what it was. It was as good as it looked! The service was fast and friendly! Thank you, The Beer House and thank you Taylor :)

My friends and I decided to grab a bite to eat and a cheeky drink before our flight. Breakfast was just what the doctor ordered.... delicious and filling. Tho, if I may say a tad on the expensive side. Overall my experience was definitely worth the 5 stars especially due to the outstanding service by Mike.

Mike Franklin is always happy to see people, very friendly and happy to help. Had fish and chips and a beer a little expensive but it is in an airport so not more than I expected. Loved the food and was a great way to prepare myself for my flight.

Was served by Mike who was fast, polite and efficient which was great as I didn’t have much time. First time I flew from Cardiff and was pleasantly suprised by the service here. Well done Cardiff

Mike welcommed us with big smile and recommended the fish and chips. Very nice dinner, good service and a warm atmosphere. High end of pub prices, but otherwise spot on. We will be back next time we visit.

I enjoyed my breakfast at 6 am. Service was really nice and pleasant. My order was very fast prepared.

So I turned up at Cardiff airport and was going to Milan. I was so scared as I had never really flown on my own before. I went for a spot of breakfast and the staff there were great they helped me and were very welcoming and were happy to answer all questions I had. Even when the flight was delayed the gentleman who i spoke to could see I had no idea what to do so he gave me some reassurance on where and what to do.

Just paid 2.55 for two small and very thin undercooked pieces of toast with rock hard butter that tore it to shreds!! Not a great start to a holiday!!

Called into the Beer House for a spot of tea Excellent service bit expensive but good quality. Mike who served us was exceptional & gave us information on the local area . Will call again soon , really enjoyed our fish and chips . 5*.

One thing Cardiff airport sadly lacks is a range of amenities, but thankfully the BeerHouse offers a wonderful atmosphere, great beverage selection and a good menu. Food was delivered by Taylor, who was more than helpful and friendly and made my experience even better. With respect to the BeerHouse, it will be the only reason I would consider flying from Cardiff airport again.

Two hours before my departure I decided to have a light snack before my flight. A young server called Taylor recommended the chicken Caesar salad and I must say it was delicious, and the portion size was spot on. She was very attentive and a pleasure to speak to, a great credit to the BeerHouse.

Myself and my husband decided to grab a quick bite to eat in the BeerHouse before our flight. I had the fish and chips and my husband had a sandwich from ritazza (he enjoyed every last bite). The fish was very tasty and our server Taylor was more than helpful. All items off the menu were quite expensive, but what else should we expect from an airport? It was worth it in my eyes :)

Me and my husband recently stopped her for lunch on Saturday before flying , we was not disappointed! We were served by a lady called Paige, she was very energetic and made our experience great! I ordered the chicken club sandwich that was very tasty however very pricey! But the service we received made it worth while!

On the morning flight to Rome and visited both beerhouse and ritazza and was looked after by a lovely young girl Hanna who seemed to be working on both businesses giving it her all and never once stopped smiling. She served me a beautiful latte with the cutest leaf pattern and also brought my food to my table checking back that I was happy and seeing if I needed anything else. Being the nosey bee I am I naturally asked her about the airport and what its like here and she couldnt praise them enough, she also told me about the future developments of the airport and seemed really dedicated to her job. Overall Im really impressed with the service I recieved and the general atmosphere. Everyone from start to finish seemed friendly amd helpful especially the cabin crew can't quite remember the ladies name but she managed to move my seat near the front which helped with my anxiety. Well done cardiff airport.

Stopped here for breakfast before my flight, was my first time flying on my own and I'm a very nervous flyer, the full English was lovely and my server, Mike was more than accomadating, very easy to talk to and was very reassuring, he made my pre flight nerves just that little bit less which is what I needed! Definitely recommend for anyone flying from Cardiff
