Great for the full family as the menu has lots of choices for adults and children the food is standard but still nice and enjoyable the service was good clean inside the restaurant everything was good happy either our visit and finished the day off with a walk around the lake

Called in for food with family, food arrived quickly and was spot on, staff are also great. Brilliant beer garden with nice views, perfect for the summer.

Food was average, decent prices. We waited over an hour for the food though which was a very long time for what we ordered. Lady with glasses was lovely but the man with dyed blonde hair was very rude. Lots of the tables weren’t cleared for the whole time we were there and there were empty glasses all along the bar but it was very busy to be fair. Carvery very good price and was nice.

Wow wow wow just had yet another Rump steak prepared by CHRIS in the kitchen , just perfect & considerably cheaper than v near restaurants..I just can't fault it - give him a pay Rise...yet again perfecto !!!!

Lovely venue but terrible food I am a vegan and the only item on the menu for me was a beyond meat burger and chips the chips tasted of barbacue flavour and were really the most awful chips I have ever tasted, our 2 year old wanted pizza but it wasn't on the menu, he had some chips but gagged on them at spat them out, he also spat the fish finger out. my son and daughter in law said theirs was only just ok, the yorkshire puddings being the best. After an early walk around the lake we visited the Beach for breakfast. What can I say? The staff are marvellous and very attentive. Especially Sophie and Laura who made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Hopefully be back again.

Visited again on Friday, we hadn’t booked but got in straight away. Lovely lady on the door. Helped us with Track and trace, explained all the rules for us. Thorough but polite, heard 2 guests having a moan about her but she only did her job. Food excellent again, all staff inside lovely. Our new regular place.

Hadn’t visited for a while as previous Managers not that great and the food wait time-shocking. Noticed in our local Facebook group “Discuss littleborough” its was under new management, with being local decided to try. OH MY GOD the food was amazing, Carvery spot on (Visited Saturday 8th August) lovely and hot. We then had a drink outdoors, staff really polite and couldn’t do enough and all wearing PPE, very very clean inside, and social distancing was fantastic. Most certainly will visit again.

I had hoped to have a drink here and meet with a friend before walking around the lake and then lunch afterwards. I had my dog with me (dogs have been previously allowed inside in certain areas and outside). I was told that dogs are not allowed. I asked if I could use the toilet and was told it was for the use of customers only. I can’t see how dogs are a risk in relation to COVID. It seemed very petty and unwelcoming.

Visited here during the social distancing/COVID restrictions, very well organised, Jordan the manager had it all under control and made us feel really welcome. Thanks, will visit again soon!

We've been coming to the beach every Sat night for three years. We come to enjoy the food with our dog and loved that it was a dog friendly pub. There is reams of dog walkers using the pub especially in the summer. The last manager didn't last long. But the one before had it right. Letting dog owners use the eating area near the toilets. It was always full of diners. Especially those who had walked their dogs around the lake. This manager however has killed it completely. You can only take the dog now in the bar area which is full of football hooligans. Trying to eat a meal with that racket and loud speakers is bad enough, but tonight we get told no food being served in the bar area where they only allow dogs. Good luck to you in the summer months when your takings will see you ruined with the hundreds of dog walkers taking their custom to the wine press. Tonight alone they lost the custom of 6 people with dogs who took there custom to a neighbouring pub. Not that I was bothered after seeing what kind if pub this has turned into. Full of football lot shouting and screaming it has as much Class as a back street boozer in Syria. You have now lost our custom who have been regulars for years. Good luck. Let's see if you last til the summer.

Came here today after a wet walk around hollinworth lake. The poor guy on the bar was on his own and over worked need more bar staff for a bar that big. Orderd me and my partner ordered carvey the kids orderd different. We could get our carvery straight away the meat was lovely and big portion. Everything else was hard and dry because it had been sat under heat lamps. The gravy was thick and cold. The kids dinner come about half hour later my sons was absolutely shocking for the price.

What a great location, free parking if you eat or drink, pay at machine and then claim your money back at the bar. Can't say it was one of the cleanest places I have ever been, but we got a table quickly and the service at the bar was good. We ordered 5 carvery's, 1 small and 4 standard. the meat and veg on offer was nice, however the Yorkshire puddings were rock hard, take my advice, pay for a small, don't have the Yorkshire pudding offered but stock up with the nice veg. small is plenty big enough.

We have had some very nice meals here in the past but unfortunately the change of management has resulted in a massive decline in standard, the staff are unfriendly and a double burger has become a quarter pounder with half a cheese slice . The outside area is a haven for wasps two people stung in the hour we were there

I don't normally put reviews on about places I've eaten at but felt that I needed to share my experience at The Beach at Hollingworth Lake. I've never eaten here before and certainly will not again. We were a party of 8 and ordered 5 main meals, 2 light sandwich options both with chips and one kids meal. We were told when ordering that the food will take 40 minutes which was fine as we thought our expectations had been managed. An hour later and half of the mains arrived, 2 fish and chips (extremely well done/burnt), 2 x chicken strip sandwiches, broken and soft bread so you couldn't pick it up and the chicken strips must have been ready five minutes after the order but left to go cold. 10 minutes later still waiting for the other 3 adults meal and the kids pasta. Two more meals arrive, roughly 20 minutes after the first meals, again one overcooked chicken strip meal and an alright curry. Still no sign of the burger and kids meal. Oh yeah we did also order chips with the sandwiches which now were stone cold as we wanted to eat them with the chips, more fool us. Hooray, finally the kids meal and the last adult meal (plain burger and chips) came a full half an hour after the first. I'm not sure why I'm surprised but I genuinely expected more from a Green King pub. As I say it just felt like as they have a captive audience at Hollingworth lake it didn't matter and almost came as a shock when we complained, complacency at it's best.

After a good visit. Carvery was all nice. Dessert took forever to come out. Kids pizza wasn't really a pizza. Was two slices out of a pizza

Would've rather had McDonald's. Plenty of food for any visiting spiders on those dirty windowsills though.

We visit at least twice a year if not more and always book in advance.We arrived this time in a particular busy time but was dealt with and shown to our table quickly. The staff are always helpful and our order was taken along with drinks order. we did have to wait a while for our food but was informed of this when ordering and was expected at such a busy time. The food arrived and was most enjoyable. The staff although busy took the time out to check every thing was OK. All in all it was a good visit with good food and service with good staff. Would highly recommend this pub in its beautiful setting of Hollingworth Lake.

This pub is really near my house, so me and my family use it a lot. We have seen it go through some changes from an ok pub to an absolutely superb pub when Dan was brought into be the landlord. Dan has now left and the pub has gone massively down hill and that's being generous. The tables are always dirty, the beer when it's on isn't nice and the place is filthy. You struggle to find a table that isn't full of glasses and I've even found a used nappy on one. Me and my family now go else where which is sad as this pub under Dan's leadership was turning into a gem.

Went here today, asked for larger lime, no lime. Got a come and lemonade no ice. Ordered good was asked three times number of tabel, told them that number had been wiped off,. When good came chips where half cookef. Me fish was horrible, my husband's cheese onion sandwich was more or less just onion again chips not good. No point complaint to bar staff as he did not know what day it was never mind anything else. Will never go back!!!!!!!!

I have visited this pub frequently and have always been impressed, however yesterday left me shocked.

Went in at early tea time expecting it be be busy and a long wait but it was just steady with a nice flow of people coming and going. The wait for food was reasonable and the food was delicious, more than expected of a pub bite it was tasty and portions generous.

Food was great we all got our meals together. Staff was very friendly and lisa was very helpful staff and we ask them to bring out a birthday cake and there did and the staff lisa song happy birthday to all the family and the kids had a great time

From the moment we walked in we was greeted by a friendly face and was seated at a table. Was told how ordering works and if we needed anything to just ask. So we ordered our food of which our son is a very picky eater. They was able to help assist in food that he was going to eat. Lisa on the vat was most helpful in assisting us with options for our son. Food was great and atmosphere was OK too. We will be returning again. Thank you for making our visit a pleasure

I recently visited the beach on a recommendation for a very close friend and I can say hand on heart that I was not disappointed. My visit was Thursday 18th and I arrived around mid day, when I arrived I was warmly greeted by the Daniel behind the bar. I found myself a seat and although the few staff that were on were passing back and forth with food they were welcoming and polite. When I went up to the bar there was a queue as there was only Daniel behind it serving but it was done so in a fast and efficiently and with a manner that you don't see much these days. The bar was tidy and well presented and had lots to offer. I had a carvery on my friends recommendation and it was amazing, plenty of choice and all piping hot, the young man serving the carvery was very polite and chatty. Due to the excellent staff I decided to have a dessert which was brought to me by a lovely lady called carla who could not do enough for me. All in all a fabulous trip and I cannot wait to return

As a vegetarian, I ordered a macaroni cheese with a side salad. The macaroni cheese looked like a child’s portion but this isn’t the issue I’m raising as I enjoyed that. The salad was brown, slimy and limp..obviously I didn’t touch it and went to complain to the manager. His reply was ‘It was a fresh bag, I watched the chef open the packet’. Which either the bag of salad was out of date or had been left in heat/sun! The managers comments where out of order and not professional! He said ‘well what do you want me to do about it’. I was refunded the money for my drink but I feel that the side salad was an important part of the meal and it spoiled the whole experience. Now I understand why this place was empty on a Saturday lunchtime. I will not be returning again!

I visited The Beach last week, I had a carvery which was lovely. Lots of choice of veg and the meat with juicy and a good portion. The lady serving on deck made polite conversation with me. My son had a steak which was cooked just as we asked and he said it was delicious. We shared a big dessert but unfortunately didn’t have enough room to finish it. We holiday in this area and tried out this establishment for a carvery. The bar where you purchase your carvery tickets and initial drink was not overly busy, the youngish barman was not rude but not friendly either, only spoke the minimum necessary words and was unwelcoming, brusque I think would be the best description. We then went to the carvery bar and waited, and waited and waited, nobody was serving at all, after 10 minutes we started to ask the passing waiting staff to call someone to serve us, still nothing, went to the bar and asked still nothing, I did not measure the time but reckon it took approx. 15 to 20 minutes for someone to appear and he was not a happy bunny either, the meal was neither good nor bad, mundane would be a fitting description, the roast potato's were of a rather poor quality which all pointed to the dont give a dam attitude. We will not return here again, if you are starving and everywhere else is closed then yes but other than that give it a miss, staff training is very badly needed for the people who work here and deal with the public, type of service you used to get decades ago before things moved on a lot.

Attended the beach this Saturday just gone with my parents for food and drinks. Bar staff were very efficient and quick with service and the new burger menu was delicious and fantastic value for money, did not have to wait too long for food. Overall happy with the service, staff member ‘kirsty’ greeted us well and served very well at the busy bar. Will be back very soon!

A pleasant day. A nice atmosphere, alotbough quite busy.. still managed to get us sat down and the food wait wasn’t long at all.

We had to wait 50 minutes for fish chip and peas and the place didn’t seem to be that busy, we had been previously when it was under the old management and was served in less half the time and it was very busy. After we had finished our meal the waitress cleared our table and asked if everything was alright, were I replied; it wasn’t brilliant, and she then replied; well you’ve ate it all now so there’s nothing we can do about it and walked off. The reason we ate it all, is that we were starving by the time we got served. We won’t be going back under this management, we would rather pay the extra and eat across the road at lake lounge.

Called in for a drink on a Saturday evening, we have eaten here before, and wouldn't do again but thought a drink would be ok, how wrong were we! The pub was quiet yet every table was full of glasses and plates that had not been cleared. There was a distinct smell of sick by the bar. I asked for a Hendricks gin and tonic and was served it in a half glass with no cucumber or lemon or even ice. I asked for a gin glass and was told they didn't have any, nor any ice. This was at 9pm ! My partner had a pint of Lager and the bill was £9 50.

This pub in the right hands would be great.... bad managment tables full of glasses and plates some lazy staff. took glasses to the bar to make a point but nothing registered with the young lady at the bar several tables need cleaning and plates removed not sure if the lady is some sort of manager but when serving food she needs to dress appropriate do not need to see that before eating . customers have to go to different tables to get cutlery and condimonts it's such a shame as this would be perfect. bar staff are great feel so sorry for them.seriously the managment should be ashamed 1 star is to much

Ridiculous. Paid £10 for a carvery and was told you were only allowed to go up once. Hadn’t filled the plate as a carvery you can generally go up multiple times for. Someone needs to sort this place out. This not on. -1/10. Will never recommend the man behind the carvery told us this in a rude fashion.

Absolutely awful! Went here with 2 couples and a child. Bearing in mind it was only 6pm, we weren't allowed glasses outside so we switched to plastic (beer tastes horrible in plastic cups, nevermind what it does to the environment) then the child wasnt allowed an ice cream outside so we had to come in. On the way in I noticed a knife on the floor (funny how we weren't allowed glasses) then we waited for 1hr 30 for a sharing platter. The staff were rude to us and I would definitely not come back!

We were a party of 4 adults & 1 child, when we entered the pub, a member of staff asked us how many people but she looked almost annoyed that we had turned up. She then went off to "look for a table" but we then saw her clearing glasses and doing other jobs - she had clearly forgotten about us as when another member of staff alerted her to our presence, she asked once again how many people and rudely told us to sit at the only table in the bar area where customers were sat with dogs. We ordered our food as 2 separate orders, my brother-in-law was served immediately however, my fiance who was right behind him was made to wait whilst the one bartender served other people drinks first. The food orders were clearly made to the same table however we had to wait around 25 minutes after their's came before I got my food however my fiance was still waiting for his.I had ordered the Hunter's chicken and this came with exactly 7 chips (my niece who had a children's meal had the same amount of chips), it's disgusting how this can be called a meal. A member of staff had already noted that we were still waiting on his dish but nothing came of it so he eventually went to complain to the manager but then his food came. It was quickly brushed under the carpet by the manager who simply said "i discovered the root of the problem but you have your food now". We then decided to order deserts, once again, in separate orders. 1 order included the ultimate sundae, chocolate fudge cake & children's vanilla ice cream, the other had a chocolate fudge cake & mint choc sundae. A waitress came over and advised there was no vanilla ice cream so would the ultimate sundae be acceptable with just chocolate ice cream which was fine. She went away and came back 10 minutes later advising the same thing about the children's ice cream, my niece said that she didn't want ice cream if it wasn't vanilla, they should have offered alternative or refund for this. Eventually the ultimate sundae and 2 chocolate fudge cakes arrived, these also had chocolate ice cream with it but were not asked if this was an acceptable alternative. I waited an additional 15 minutes before alerting to someone that my mint choc sundae still hadn't arrived, they said they would chase this then a waitress quickly brought it out with an excuse but no apology. This desert cost me £5.29 and it came with 2 scoops of ice cream, 3 aero bubbles and a dollop of whipped cream, what a rip off. Will never go back, appalling vist.

We came to this pub as I like to have a carvery to suit my appetite. When we arrived we was welcomed by a lovely member of staff Carla who showed us to the table and then told us to order food at the bar. At the bar we was greeted by Lisa who was very polite and talked us through the different options available on the children's menu to suit my autistic son who is very picky. We was able to open a tab which was simple to do. Our experience of this restaurant was fabulous and will definitely be going back.

Was originally suppose to be going to the chippy at Hollingworth Lake but my mum decided we would dine in at this pub instead. I found the selection of food available for pescatarians/vegetarians shocking. Then when we attended the bar to order we asked for three different things which were all unavailable and I was left with a drink I never originally asked for and no food. Great family outing!!!! Will be sticking to the chippy next time, at least I know I will be able to get food that I eat from there.

Had lunch and can not fault the service just one slight issue which was solved instantly 10 out of 10

This place is a absolute joke , ordered 3 lemonades all had to be change as they were flat and seen more life in a tramps vest, 1portion of chips which had about 5 chips on it and 2 burgers which look lost on the plate, and had the audacity to charge me £27 we will never visit this place again.
