It took about 30 minutes for the food to arrive but when it did it was delicious. The staff were friendly. There is free WiFi. Dogs are welcome both inside and outside the venue.

Very expensive for average food. We ordered 2 club sandwiches, 2 lattes and 2 bacon for our dog. Club sandwiches were £9.95 each . Lattes were £3.50. £1.90 for 2 rashers of bacon for the dog. Club sandwiches weren’t great for the price, very fatty bacon which wasn’t crispy and chicken was straight from the fridge, would’ve expected it to be warm? We wouldn’t come back.

The food and service was first class. Not expensive at all. Really good value and if you are in the Preston Docklands area this place is well worth a visit. Dog friendly too.

This cafe is stuck in a time warp in terms of food. We used to go years ago and the vegan 'option' is still a jacket potato with that powdery microwave taste and beans. No spread vegan spread not available. At least this time there was a cake suitable. I had hoped there would be something nice to match the effort that has gone into dressing the cafe. Please have a think about developing the menu!! I was not impressed with tables full of crockery which staff didn't seem to notice. Surely as food is brought out a back load of crockery would make the place look better to eat. So sad this place could be lovely given the site. Pub nearby is better for food as we have now discovered!

We ended up here quite by accident after a long walk. Sat outside in a sunny spot. You can order food and drink from a little hatch. The chap who served me couldn't have been more helpful - he put on a mask before he approached the hatch. When asked, he showed me the size of the coffee mugs before we ordered as we prefer a large cuppa. He took our postcode and telephone number for contact tracing. There was a cleaning station outside, from which we were able to use spray and sanitiser. Big tick. Only thing was that the tables weren't cleared very quickly. But, with the cleaning stuff, I was able to clear and clean my own table quite easily and safely. The coffee was excellent. The fruit scone with butter - dreamy. We will definitely be returning here.

Notice for opening times states 5pm but now closing at 4.30 weekdays. Called in one afternoon for a coffee and toasted tea cake to be told no tea cakes as these were on the breakfast menu!! Doesnt state on the menu that these are only for breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful but they need umbrellas for shade/rain cover and to be serving everything on the menu (which isnt extensive) at all times when open. This place could be a goldmine but isnt used to full potential.

Called in for a lunch with wife and daughter, first time since the refurb at the Beach Hut. We ordered 3 pizzas 'cos we'd heard they were good. They were just about the nicest thin crust pizzas we've had. Service within the constraints of Covid19 was good - polite staff with friendly smiles. The pizzas are freshly made and are DELICIOUS. Plus, the new bar allows for some great local beer - try the Preston Dragon since you are in the HQ of Preston Dragonboat Racing club, or the Gunslinger which is nice too. This is a great venue and a gem for the Docklands area.

I’ve been coming to the Coffee shop for several years and been impressed with the quality. The recent refurbishment however has taken it to a higher level. The food quality Is even better and the addition of the pizzas and bar have transformed this location to a venue of first choice at Preston dock. There is a wide variety of pizzas which are freshly made and cooked. The ice creams are fantastic and it’s a lovely location to chill and watch the marina activity.Well done to everyone concerned.

Love the refurbishment and food still great...if not better! Freshly made pizzas have been added to their usual menu and they now serve a good selection of alcoholic drinks too. Since they reopened we’ve called in at various times over several days and either had bacon baps, toasted sandwiches or pizzas...all very tasty. They have also extended their opening times, I believe last food orders are at 20.30 and the cafe closes at 21.00. Staff are friendly and efficient and it is so good to see the cafe open and going so well.

Fantastic renovation to make a lovely cafe/casual bar.We live on the docks and often walk round it so decided to pop in for an evening drink. Plenty of outdoor seating.Looking forward to coming again as the lunch and pizzas look tasty. Also serves ice cream so imagine I will be trying that out soon too!Great work on the renovation guys - it’s made a huge improvement and just what we needed on the docks!

Been coming to this little cafe on the marina for a few years for coffee, cake or ice cream, always enjoyed it, clean and friendly. During the recent lockdown its undergone refurbishment and now serves pizza and beers in the evenings, absolutely brilliant, tables spaced out for social distancing, sanitizer and masks available and excellent service. Well done guys, will definitely return and will recommend to anyone who wants to enjoy a pleasant evening with friends or family overlooking the marina.

Pretty disappointing, lovely location, but chairs crammed in. Staff have zero interest in serving, this has been the case on multiple occasions, they leave you waiting, talk amongst each other, tell each other to serve you. It’s expensive (£8 the other day for a drink / sausage barm and dog sausage) - not luxury drinks, just in a mug and not high end ingredients, looks like basic shop bought barm and mushy sausage, so for sometimes average food and poor service and inconsistent food each time you order.Seems recently taken over as it did improve slightly. Also multiple times at 2/3pm the ovens are off or food sold out, even though it’s open until 5pm? So maybe be clear that hot food will be till x time and just drinks afterwards as I’ve been disappointed and seen this for others too.Toilets really need updating and shop really tired.Great outdoor seating and great dog menu. Good parking Just the above does need sorting

Visited today with our big dog. What a find! Specific area to sit with dog, even a dog menu...we had bacon/ sausage barms and tea and coffee. Very reasonably priced, piping hot freshly cooked food. Not only that, it is in a boating shop with gifts ,clothes, ice creams, food and all kinds of maritime stuff. Friendly staff and patrons. This is a great place to visit.

Great food and service. I particularly enjoy the bacon bap (had many!) The menu offers something for everyone? The cafe has a car park, an outside eating area and selection of clothing, gifts, cards and wrapping paper etc. A lovely place to stop if taking a walk around the dock or if just passing by.

Fantastic Ice Cream and service. This can be an issue for some places if you have an allergy, however this was not the case at this place, they have the ingredients easily available for you to check and are more than willing to help. Nice friendly staff too.

Visited for coffee. Parking was difficult as spaces are limited and you get fined if you park in Baffitos next door. The service was average. There was a small selection of cakes but nothing to tempt me. The latte looked nice but wasn't as smooth and creamy as I like it. I won't be rushing back.

Cafe within another retail building.Took the family for a walk and happened by this place at a reasonably pleasant location at the marina. The ordering process was archaic, tedious and painful. The meals (when they eventually arrived) were poor quality substance and mostly cold. When we asked to replace the items, they suggested that they had used their food thermometer and it was ok. I invited the staff to taste and feel the food. They refused. We also got a very reluctant m,ember of the catering staff who tried to put blame on both us and another customer instead of abiding by the golden rule, "the customer is always right". Lots more staff training needed here I think.I overheard other patrons complaining of the same issues. There were far too many tables and chairs, we felt like the proverbial sardines in the squashed tin. I realise that these places have to maximise floor space but, when paying such high prices for slops, it doesn't make sense as we will definitely not be returning to this disgusting joint. You get the feeling that when they planned the retail shop, they had some spare space that they didn't know what to do with. In an emergency situation, it would be very stressful trying to navigate the bunched up tables and chairs to make your way to an emergency exit. Never again...

Over the years I have visited the Beach Hut it continues to provide the same excellent quality of food, I am a particular fan of the bacon barm and the cheese and tomato toastie. No matter how busy, I have never had an unbearable wait! My one and only complaint is that their excellent ice cream selection does not offer a Lacto free option but must admit the bacon butty more than makes it for it!

My wife took me to the Beach Hut after a mornings shopping- I don't think I would have found it on my own as it's hidden inside the Preston Marina chandelry. It's worth finding though as it serves a good coffee, has free newspapers and even has a 'Doggy section' in its menu including Doggy Ice-Cream!

Pleasant location on the docks, quiet ambience when we visited and nice although we just had coffee. What I found a bit irritating was standing unacknowledged at the counter particularly as they served someone at the ice cream counter who arrived after me. I stood waiting whilst staff were behind the counter doing stuff I did wonder if I was supposed to sit at a table for service (not the case), the staff were clearly not customer focused, shame and good job cafe wasn’t busy.

We stopped for an ice cream / coffee at lunch time on August bank holiday Monday on our way round the guild wheel with the kids. The kids had the special "beach hut ice cream sundae" which was 2 scoops of ice cream, chunks of crunchy chocolatey biscuits, cream and wafers all for 2.75. We had cappuccinos. All was made quickly and brought out to our table. Lovely setting next to the river with the steam train going passed. Plenty of sitting areas, both inside and out. Very impressed with the staff and our ice cream / coffees. A welcome break a third of the way round the 20 mile ride. Will stop again... I don't think the kids would allow us not to!

It was a hot day so I went in to get a quick drink. Waited in the queue for several minutes as other staff came and went. When it finally came to me I wasn't acknowledged by the member of staff, they just turned their back to me as they prepared someone else's coffee. They didn't even have the decency to say 'I'll just be a moment'.

Visited this café several times when we have been for a walk around the docks. It's a lovely little café with friendly staff. We've only ever had tea and biscuits but it's been a pleasant place to rest our legs. What I like about it is that it's part of a shop which sells clothing, gifts and cards etc so there's more to do than just having a brew. It's a nice clean cafe and the prices are very reasonable. Well worth a visit.

At the Beach Hut you can eat inside or outside. In the summer sun outside is a real sun trap and you can watch the boats on the Marina and the steam train go by. The service is good both inside and out. Food largely toasted sandwiches and baked potatoes with specials of soup or pies. Excellent bacon butties for brunch! Particularly good are the scones with jam and cream but all the cakes are good. The hot weather brings the ice cream eater out in me and they always serve a good ice cream! The inside is largely decorated for the boating fraternity and they sell clothes and equipment for the boating world as well. I must say that they have a good supply of Lazy Kacks clothing that I particularly like.
