Amazing food, amazing service, amazing! A party of 7, came here on a Monday and was a great atmosphere with a nice bustle! Lovely team and fantastic food! Best curry around.

Love the food - this restaurants food is, in my opinion, second to none and the staff are great; a visit is well worth it. One teeny niggle though. Being a local I ordered a take away through the website for delivery to arrive at 8.30pm - it arrived at 7.25pm. Luckily we were at home and took the delivery. However, had we ordered the food when out and expecting to arrive home at, say 8.15, the food would have been delivered to an empty house! I have the payment receipt with the delivery time clearly marked on it so it wasn't my mistake when ordering online. Something to be aware of.

We came here for an Indian meal on Wednesday night after visiting a relative nearby. Many of the shops in the village were dark, so we weren’t sure what to expect. Staff were welcoming, the atmosphere was inviting, and the food was excellent. We ordered chicken Madras, and so with chicken, both hot, as well as some appetizers. Would highly recommend. Just minutes from the A3.

Been meaning to visit this restaurant as have heard great things about the food. Found that we had to keep asking for things, and although service was quick, we did leave disappointed. Most of the food was nice, but some of the mains were quite bland. We over ordered so asked if the leftovers could be packed up and we were handed a bag and containers to pack it up ourselves which I found a little odd so we ended up leaving it. Am not sure I would go back but nice enough

Wish they had a wider choice on the menu though what we did have to eat was great - well cooked, tasty and good portion size. Definitely one to go to again to eat out though for a takeaway we'd probably order from somewhere with a wider choice.

It’s a regular favourite for us. Nepalese not Indian but it’s very recognisably similar. I’ve been eating Indian food for over half a century, and lived there many years ago. This — along with the Banyan Tree in Fernhurst — serves the best curries in the area. The staff are always welcoming and the food is consistently good. We’re keen to try the new sister restaurant that’s recently opened in Haslemere and have a booking, so will report back!

Great local indian restaurant with good, tasty food. It has a relatively simple menu (which is actually a good thing), and the food is well prepared and presented with care. Some of the dishes feel a little over-priced, but in general - good restaurant.

We have been here several times over the last few years, and it’s always good, the tandoori giant prawns are fantastic! Friendly service and a reasonable price. We will be back!

Thought of leaving a review because nowadays people base their decisions from online. And I think it's unfair to have negative reviews for this Resturant. People should really know how good of a restaurant and the service they have. Me and my family come here on a regular for over 3 years. Resturant is well maintained and the food never disappoints. Always loved the variety Aspect of the food in this restaurant. Their suggestive manner on specific sides and the starters always helps, it really is a recipe for a great overall taste, really makes our evening ! When we order the food from home, the delivery time are fairly reasonable, we can see that restaurant gets very busy so for us, it is understandable. but the delivery man always brings extra food when its delayed. The mangers & the staff are very kind and helpful always. Definitely great people, gives their best to their customers. I've got ti know their and they take care of us very well. very pleased to have their restaurant nearby.

We’ve Been coming to the Bayleaf for takeaways & eating in for 10 years +! The food is always really delicious & the freshest sauces, naans & rices we’ve ever tasted. Can’t fault it! The king prawn tikka masala is dreamy. Really lucky to have them on our doorstep!

I ordered for delivery last night and was very disappointed. The menu states that delivery is free over £20 but it's not, it's changed and is now free over £30 but doesn't state that on the online system so you have to keep on adding items to work it out. When I placed my order at 18.33 it said it would be delivered at 19.20. I then received an email saying that it would be delivered at 19.50. At 20.05 I phoned to find out where my food was. I had to wait a while for the lady to find out and was then told it was out for delivery and they would tell me how long it would be, but the phone was put down. I finally received my food at 20.15. Sadly, it wasn't great as others have reported and the food seems to have changed. I am incredibly disappointed and won't be ordering again. £30 is too much, the wait is too long and the food has deteriorated. It used to be so good.

Ordered from here at least twice in the recent past for home delivery as have our neighbours. Ordered tonight via their website and the order went through fine, confirming they deliver to our postcode. 10 minutes later received a call saying that their manager was refusing to accept the order as it was ‘too far’. Tried to explain that they had delivered to this street, and our address, numerous times but still refused. Manager refused to take my call to discuss his decision. Suspect they were just having a busy Saturday evening and didn’t want to drive. Website needs changing to reflect their reduced delivery area ASAP. Shame as the food is actually pretty decent here but really disappointed with them.

Food was luke warm was told ready in 30 minutes and waited 10 minutes when i arrived flavour not great and was very pricey for quality of food won't use again much better Indians in the area.

The food and service are too notch in this place , the only downside is at weekends you generally require a reservation.

We won a voucher for a meal for two and opted to have it as a take away. We haven’t used this curry house before despite living in Hindhead for 14 years!! I will only order from here from now on! It was absolutely delicious!! The food was popping hot and fresh, the chicken was tender and it was all cooked perfectly! Looking forward to a visit to the restaurant! Best curry and very good service, very hygienic and a lot of sanitizer available! I felt very safe and very full after my meal, we had butter chicken and tikka masala, both were full of flavour and delicious! Takeaways are just as good too !

Great quality food and service in this local gem.Although the menu is quite small (recently reduced), it has something for everyone. The food is very well prepared and beautifully presented.Better than your run of the mill Indian restaurant and worth a detour, but probably best to book.

We live a little way away from Grayshot, but we have decided it is worth the drive to eat here. The quality of the food, the ingredients and the presentation make for a much nicer meal than those we can find more locally. All of the “usual dishes” are available with one or two extras. Just a super experience.

We have been to the Bayleaf many times and have always had stunning food and outstanding service. I’m a fussy eater and my special requests are always accommodated. The staff are all so friendly and we are greeted like family (and I see this treatment for many other diners too). Having lived near Grayshott for 15 years We think it is the best restaurant around. We moved recently and tried our local restaurants but decided it was worth the 90 minute round trip to return to the Bayleaf.

We always eat at the Bayleaf when visiting family in nearby Headley. This latest visit was possibly the best food ever. The dish selection is huge, and every one that we have tried has been excellent, with amazing layered flavours. Looking forward to the next visit after Christmas!

Went to The Bayleaf in a party of 6 (incl 2 young children), we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our children really tucked into the Chicken Bhuna and love the Naans. Food was lovely and hot, couldn't really fault it!

I mean the title says it all really. We found this place when we first moved to the area and couldn't be bothered to cook on our first night and now we order here whenever we get a takeaway which is more times than i care to admit.

I placed my order on line and OK it was just for one person, but I got an email within 6 seconds to say it was ready for collection. The onion bhaji was very nice, but the "mint" yogourt that came with it had virtually no mint flavour. The Chicken Garlic Chilli Masala was a bit watery - possible frozen & microwaved?? Once the watery portion of the sauce was gone it was actually slightly dry. Overall it was just about OK, but not what I expected from the generally very good reviews.

Visited the bayleaf last night and yet again a lovely meal at a lovely friendly restaurant. I highly recommend to all you go and see Bishnu and the gang for the best curry around!

I have visited the Bayleaf many times as I consider it to be one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to. The menu is of a really good selection and the food is of an excellent standard and very tasty and well presented, The staff are very friendly and always polite and willing to help. The service is very good. This is a Restaurant to be visited if you want an enjoyable night out.

Had eaten here a month ago so knew the food was fantastic so came back with family for a celebration meal. Food again fantastic, service not. Not welcomed as we walked in, took a while to catch someone's eye even though they were at the counter.Took a long time to order initial drinks and then the wait for food. Meanwhile bottles emptied extremely noisily into bin bag right by us and a glass broken in the bar. Not a pleasant dining experience so sadly won't be going back.

The food was delicious as always, top notch. The service was so slow. We had finished our wine before the meal arrived. Waited 1 hour 15 mins for our main course. Drinks very slow to arrive too. Staff really pleasant and trying hard but far too slow a service. I just think they had booked everyone in for the same time rather than staggered starts. Also they were serving take always too. It hasn’t put me off going as usually it is good service but it was a disappointment as we were with family and we had bigged it up so much.

This was our first visit to this local Indian restaurant. We were a group of 6 friends and had a very jolly evening. The food was excellent and the service smiley and attentive in the very attractive and comfortable dining room. The only slight niggle was that the meal took a very long time to arrive (45 minutes after the starters were served) , for which we received a nice apology and explanation, but actually that didn't matter too much as we weren't in a hurry and the food was worth the wait. Good wine and beer list too at reasonable prices.

We come here or order a takeaway several times per year. The big problem is consistency. Sometimes the food is awesome. Sometimes it’s oily and unpleasant. However, you never know which one you’re going to get. Unfortunately, with better local restaurants - like Pipasha in Churt - we find ourselves steering clear of the Bay Leaf these days. Also a negative is the amount of dairy in their food. One of our family is dairy intolerant and there’s barely anything to eat on the menu.

We have been coming here for a while. The restaurant has had a refit and the food is still terrific. Chilli chicken with aubergine and okra vegetable dishes are our favourite and the standard does not vary. We are curry lovers and this place represents the newer style of food with some nice twists and flavours. The lamb is really worth a try here as well. Very tender. We like the interior as well low lighting with an old club feel with white tablecloths and leather seating. A smart place and we would take friends here as the food and place is impressive.

Such a shame, the Bayleaf used to be great but the service now is appalling and rude. The food was slightly better than the service but unfortunately cold - no surprise after a 45 minute wait!

Good service combined with good food. We went on a very busy evening with the restaurant full of patrons. The waiters were very efficient and kept us very happy.

Having now tried out every single Indian takeaway in Haslemere, I rank the Bayleaf at number one. Whilst the quality of food at the Banyan (in Fernhurst) is distinctly better than the Bayleaf, the choice of food there is very limited and prices at the Banyan are simply ridiculous. The quality of food at the Bayleaf is pretty much on a par with the Madhuban (in Liphook and Liss) but much better than Chilli Nights (in Wey Hill). Price-wise, it is almost identical to the Madhuban and Chilli Nights.

Great food in agood atmosphere with the reastaranr recently have undergone extensive enlargement. Great for mid week suppers and to start the weekends! Always guaranteed great food and service.

This restaurant was recommended to me by the proprietor of the brilliant Green Grocers in Grayshott,we went as a group four and the food was excellent as was the service.The restaurant has nice intimate feel about it,not too big,not too bright like some.

We went to the Bay Leaf as a family of four, having been there 4 or 5 times previously. It never fails to impress.

Our first take away from The Bayleaf was actually very good, so we thought we had found a decent local Indian restaurant that delivers to us. We ordered almost the same food a second time and it was if it was from a completely different establishment. The Tikka masala sauce was very sweet and lacked any depth of flavour and the lamb dish also tasted like it was whipped up very quickly and was nothing like the last time I had this dish, tasted cheap I'm afraid, but I can tell you that it wasn't.

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to Bish and the team. We popped in without booking in advance on a very busy weekend evening and they could not have done more to look after us. The service was fantastic and the food spectacular (thank you for keeping the coriander away for me). We will be visiting again soon!

Phone up to order a takeaway, ask if it’s ok to pay over the phone, no problem. They take the order and delivery details and say they will need to call back in a couple of minutes to take payment...

I got my first indian food experience with a friend of mine who recommended the restaurant.

up on returning as first take away was pritty good,but second was not very average to much sauce teaching the chicken to swim and chicken peaces bland,rice was ok but not as like before pritty wet,nan bread first time were great this time burnt,i looking forward to having again but i am disappointed will not return sad as staff friendly

Really been wanting to try this place. Went for valentine's, slow service - short staffed. Quality is not worth the price. Did not get advise what items were not offered on the night. Also the order was not taken correctly, kept double checking with us. There are much much better Indian restaurants. Enclosed is the valentine's rose. But best for you to go an try. Around £80 for two adults and two kids.

We have been here a couple of times and the food is always excellent. This time the food was great but the service was slow half hour from ordering to starter, then half an hour before the main course arrived. but the food is some the best around.

A group of 26 of us visited on a Thursday night, excellent dining and the best staff you will ever meet. Bishnu looked after us extremely well and made our night out memorable. The mixed tandoori grill starter is not to be missed. Highly recommended.

Sunday evening started with a couple of early beers at the Fox & Pelican, and then we moved to the Bayleaf for dinner. We asked the restaurant to choose for us and the results were excellent: a spiced king prawn starter and then three main courses. Chilli chicken is a signature dish, which was as good as usual, and we also enjoyed two new ones, not yet on the menu, chicken tawa and lamb tawa, both served in long handled tawa pans. Excellent saffron-scented pilau rice, naan, tarkha dhal and a mushroom bhaji complemented the main dishes. Service was prompt and friendly, and we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Verdict: living in a small village like Grayshott, we're very lucky to have such good cooking available on a dark and chilly November night. It really warmed us up.

Second social visit in a year. I'd made an online booking for 3 on 26th September but I didn't receive an email response (takes seconds and is free) Today I leave a message to see if booking is confirmed - still no response. Arrived early tonight to find table is there. I ordered an unchallenging bitter shandy but then lager shandy arrives with a response of 'that's all we've got'. Err, ok then. I'll make do. No mention of no bitter at point of order.

Great little restaurant very friendly and helpful staff the food was very good and a good choice on the menu. I would recommend if you're in the area.

El es un maravilloso restaurante Bayleaf nepalíes que sirve algunos de los mejores curries de cata ha sido mi privilegio para comer. El servicio es excelente y si comes o llevar el saludo de bienvenida y siempre es excelente. Por encima de todo es la calidad de la comida, curry de cata absolutamente deliciosa en un amplio partes que del chef controlará la fuerza de, en su solicitud. Veo algunas quejas sobre el lugar, el cual parece ser basado en el hecho de que los comensales no dan la mejor mesa de la casa o conseguir un servicio instantánea cuando el lugar estaba lleno. La razón por la que el lugar está lleno es porque se trata de un popular restaurante que sirve comida maravillosa, así que reserve con antelación y pedir una mesa que mejor se adapte a sus necesidades y los números. 11 de 10 si vas a cenar en el restaurante o para llevar. Have never eaten in the restaurant but it's by far the best Indian we have ever had. They never disappoint we order a couple times a month at least. Really good and fresh lovely authentic food and great service

This is a very well run restaurant, ice cold beer and great staff. The king prawn biriyani was superb, as what the small but delicious prawn puri. Highly recommend for top class food.

Have been to this restaurant many times in the past and have always had a great meal but tonight was a very different story service was very poor ,the food was only tepid and my wife never got her main course at all was promised it in 2 minutes but 10 minutes later still hadn't arrived,the waitress didn't seem to care at all no apology so left hungry and disappointed will never go back.

Took friends for dinner who live locally but had never tried The Bay Leaf... they were very impressed with both the food & the service.The food was delicious as usual & the service quick & the staff attentive.

Live in Grayshott and regular this place. Bishnu the owner is a great guy and runs a fantastic place. I think it's great value and I'm a student. The take out option is great too and they deliver! The korma is so creamy and tasty. The beef and spinach dish is peng. I'm currently in Bolivia and I cannot emphasise enough how much I flipping miss this place.

I really enjoyed my meal this evening at the Bay Leaf. First time I have been there and definately not the last. The food was delicious and the service very good too. Can't wait to go back.

Our first experience of the Bay Leaf in Grayshott was not a satisfying one, the main reason being, our table then was located opposite the main front door which opened only feet from where we were seated... no other tables were available. The food at that time was not bad so after a few months, we thought we would give it another go but when booking we stressed that we did not want to be near the door, but away from the thoroughfare and to the side of the restaurant. We arrived only to be shown to a table behind the main pillar in the eating area near the bar and slap bang in the middle of the takeaway area so we were constantly surrounded by people waiting for and collecting their meals, it was like eating at a table on a railway station platform. Don't be fooled by the above picture, there is a lot more going on out of shot.We complained and asked to be relocated to another table, the staff nodded politley and smiled but we were told that there was nothing else available, even though some tables were vacated soon after we arrived and still empty when we left. The staff's attitude to our complaint was very dismissive, they did not care and made no effort to appease us, not even asking us if we would care to wait a short while until another table would become available, nothing.We discussed leaving, but there is not much in the way of eating places available in this area and it was now way past 8pm, so we did agree to stay and eat. This was a big mistake, we should have gone with our gut, the table was so small it did not accommodate all our dishes. The service was not great, the drinks when they remembered to bring them over, were overpriced and the food was only mediocre.We ate, paid and left never to return.

This was a returned visit and not disappointed. Very warm friendly welcome. The restaurant was well presented, menu choices excellent, food cooked to a high standard and excellent service. Feel happy to return and recommend to others. Thank You.

This was the best takeaway hubby and I have had for years!!!Super food and won't go anywhere else now!!!!

The venue is nicely lit, has some round tables with a nice ambiance. Sadly it was very cold when we went and the restaurant area was extremely draughty and cold made worse by the incessant opening and closing of the doors with takeaway customers.. We booked and arrived at 1900 hours on a Friday which was a mistake as for over an hour we sat drank 3 pints of beer munched through a load of papodoms and watched over thirty or more takeaway orders get served while we froze every time the doors opened and closed. When we complained at 20.10 hours that we would really like some food now as we had just sat and watched more than thirty takeaway customers get served we were told it would be with us very soon. The food was then served or rather handed to us in bowls. No hot trays no ceremony just here you go! The food had a good flavour and was well cooked - the lamb Lazis was pretty tender and the chicken Tikka was succulent - the chicken in the Rogan was poor meat and tasted tired or just plain boiled chicken.We will not go back as whilst they can obviously serve good food they must choose if they want to be a takeaway or a restaurant.

Always like to support local trade but have come to the Bayleaf occasional because its good to check other restaurants.We hadn't been for six months but the food was still excellent and the service is very welcoming.

We've been eating various Indian restaurants in South West Surrey for years and some of the meals we've had recently have been very average. So what a breath of fresh air to find this place in Grayshott where the food we had was really fresh and succulent (just as it says on their website) My wife and I both had chicken dishes and the meat was cooked to perfection and the sauces really fresh. Our portions were large so the meal was excellent value for money as well. We will be back - no doubt about that. NB The staff were all smiles and eager to please - they wanted to be there looking after us - not like some places. So well dome boys!

My first visit to Grayshott and thought this place looked appealing from the outside and on entry it certainly was. A business meal for 4 over 2 hours was nicely paced with good well timed service. My favourite part of the meal was the pistachio kulfi desert which was dark green, rich and creamy and really as authentic as you could get outside of India. If you are passing Hindhead in the evening, drop off to picturesque Grayshott and visit the Bayleaf. You won't be disappointed.

Having just moved within the year to Grayshott I was very happy to have been recommended The Bayleaf by a work colleague. My family and I have eaten here a couple of times now and both times the food and service complimented themselves perfectly. Everything tastes fresh, the restaurant is clean and beautiful and the staff are very welcoming and attentive.

Full menu, timely service and tasty food. Very popular restaurant which can get very busy, especially at the weekends, so can become noisey, however always a pleasant atmosphere and the food never disappoints. Take away service also well worth a try.

My Wife and I have been a couple of times. The food is always tasty, the service is good and the restaurant has a great ambiance. Prices are what you would expect.

There are curry takeaways and there are curry restaurants. This is most certainly the latter. Always a warm welcome with a lovely atmosphere. They have on more than one occasion kept the kitchens open for a later arrival. Food is great, nicely presented and reasonably priced. The owner takes pride in talking to his customers and advising them on both food and drink. If you are in Grayshott or passing through make sure you don't miss this little gem.

Pleasant place but the main dish was tasteless, I have honestly had better from a tin. Rice and Popadums were fine. Mango chutney has unusual spices, yogurt was very sweet and onion relish was different. Beer tasted weak too.I do not understand how this place is rated so highly.
