Luckily booked a table. The place was packed, 6 pm on a Saturday. Lovely atmosphere. Order half adult pizza & chips for 7 year grand daughter which she said was best ever. All our meals were delicious and staff couldnt do enough to make us welcome

A hidden gem in the Galphay and Winksley area. Open when other restaurants are closed. Food and service excellent. It needs to publicise itself as a pub with food, irrespective of its position on a campsite.

Lovely service, friendly and helpful. Food was very nice although second visit over the weekend wasn’t as good as the first. Have visited here over the years and the menu has got more simplified than in previous years. However still enjoy it

Visited the barn on a very very wet Sunday with members of a ww2 reenactment group following a photo shoot in the local area. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel nothing but welcome by Carrie, she may be small in size but is mighty with her cheerfulness, her service and is a fantastic asset to the venue. The various members of my party had meals and everyone agreed they were top notch. If your in the area don’t hesitate to eat/drink at the barn, your trip will be worth it.

We've been camping here before, and on those occasions the food here was excellent. However, today was no where near as good as before! Quantity was greatly reduced on all of our three meals. When I order a steak-and-ale pie, I expect a pie, not a stew poured into a bowl with a puff pastry top. You may say that this is normal in the industry, I agree, for some reason it has (or is) becoming the norm', but, at the end of the the day it is 'NOT' a pie. We mentioned this to the 'young' waitress, expecting someone to come and discuss this with us, but they only came to take their money!

Our family have a static on woodhouse and we decided to stay longer yesterday in order to have a Sunday lunch. It was well worth it. I had the lamb (came as a shank), the wife had the beef and out daughter had the pork. Served a separate large bowl of beautiful veg. Its was £12.50 per adult meal and £7.50 for the child. Washed down with drinks we all ate for £44 which we thought was great value. We arent desert people on the whole but we didnt think £6.50 per desert was abut steep but like I say didnt affect us. The staff are great really friendly and hospitable, especially lins the brown haired girl with the glasses. The large log burning fire is always lit and creates a lovely warm atmosphere with gorgeous smell. The covid rules are being adhered to very well. We really enjoy coming up to the barn for drinks and food and highly recommend

up until this year we have loved the food here however we have given it the benefit of the doubt on 4 occasions since it opened and we are thoroughly disappointed with the food, the cost and the portion sizes. The lasagne for 8.50 was approximately 3 inches square and half a half a garlic chapatti. We definitely will not be going to the pub again. Sad really as it was a great opportunity for the new tenants and the pub food has always been a huge part of the woodhouse farm experience.

People if you live near or far, in season or out of season this pub is the best place for food, drink, friendliness, somewhere for the children, everyone welcome!!!! A must visit if you are in the area 🙂

We would like to blow the horn for Steve and Sue at The Barn near Winksley. We had our family celebration there today and the buffet they provided for such a reasonable price per head was amazing. There was so much food and it was delicious. We had an amazing time and cannot thank them enough. Nothing to was too much trouble for them or the staff. If you are wanting a celebration of any kind travelling that bit further out from Ripon is definitely worth it. You won’t be disappointed!!

We visited for the Monday steak night having never been before. We walked into a lovely warm welcoming atmosphere which came from the fabulous wood burning stove but mainly from the staff too. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and a definite 10 out of 10 also for the hand cut home cooked chips were out of this world. The steak night deal included a bottle of wine with was amazing value all round. We also had puddings and coffee which were equally delicious. Reasonably priced, great service and doggy friendly too. We will definitely be back and can't wait to return.

Went for steak and mushroom pudding. Contents limited and chewy, with pudding hard. Mustard and chive mash was very poor. Tasted like a cheap French mustard. I could not eat. Don't know if they have more than one chef as last visit was good. My wife's Risotto was very bland. This caravan site is gorgeous and tranquil although their restaurant requires changes.

Usually there is a varied menu but tonight the barn did a buffet and I have to say it was deliscious. From fish pie to Malaysian chicken, samosas, Italian meat balls, cous cous, bhaji, peppered steak, and more. Really nice food and varied flavours. Even a selection for kids as well. Lovely meal that myself, my wife and daughter really enjoyed.

We were camping on the site and visited the pub/restaurant on a Saturday night - we (6 adults, 3 kids) thought that the food was fantastic! It has a great interior, very nicely designed, and also an outdoor area and separate indoor play barn for kids. The staff who served us food, drinks & cocktails were very nice, down to earth and helpful - they also brought the children's food very quickly, which is always good! Definitely recommend.

Her staff are all so friendly and polite from the youngest washer uppers to the Head Chef.Best to book for an evening meal as gets very busy. Great to sit outside on a sunny day and kids can play in play barn. Good size car park and dogs allowed in the pub. Couple more tablebenches outside would be good for busy hot days.clean tidy welcoming - you can't ask for a better pub.Get yourself there.

We chose to have our Sunday lunch here because dogs are allowed inside. We pre booked as it can get busy especially when the children are on holiday. There was a choice of beef, pork or turkey. The waitress gives you your roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding and you help yourself to the vegetables. There was carrots mixed with swedes, red cabbage, cauliflower cheese, leek and then gravy. Personally I would've preferred mashed potato as I only got 3 small roast potatoes. For 2 adults and 1 child it cost us £37.60 but that included 2 pints and a soft drink.

Average standard of food not worth the money unfortunately , poor menu choice and description we asked the staff how big is the kids mini burger is to be told they are very small and not worth ordering if they are hungry so we ordered 1 adults burger for our 11 year old and 1 kids mini burger for our 8 year old when they arrived the burgers where the same size we just paid more for the adults one I wonder if this is a trick to get you to order the more expensive one .

Stopped on the caravan site, pub very handy and serves great BLACK SHEEP BEERS by very friendly and welcoming staff. booked a table before we got there for 8 people for wifes birthday on the friday night, had to alter the numbers twice which was no issue with susan and had 13 eating a variety of very tasty well cooked and presented meals. Its been a few years since we stopped on the site but the Barn is as good as it ever was, would recommend it to any one stopping at the site as its very family friendly and dog friendly. Well done to all the staff, keep up the good work and see you all soon. thanks KEVIN and WENDY.

We ate here recently when staying at the camp site. The staff were really friendly and fitted us in at quite short notice which was great. The service was good and the food was really nice. Excellent portions and my steak was really tasty. We'd visited last year also and noticed a difference in the menu and the fact that breakfast rolls and takeaway are now served was great to see and something we'll definitely take advantage of next time we stay. The only slight negative for us was there were quite a few people - mainly camp site staff - drinking at the bar who were really, really loud. We found we were having to shout at each other to be heard. They did leave half way through so it didn't spoil the whole meal for us.We will definitely be back if we stay at the site again.

Useful having a pub restaurant on the Woodhouse Farm campsite so we didn't have to drive anywhere for dinner, especially as they do takeaways too. The first time we use The Barn we were greeted and served by a blonde lady who was very welcoming and helpful. This visit we had a takeaway and all four meals were excellent, the two kids' meals were a decent size as were the adults' meals. The chips were superb. On the basis of the takeaway we decided to go for a meal two days later. Unfortunately, we were left disappointed this time - there was a dark haired lady serving on this occasion who didn't manage to smile for the whole time we were there, which didn't help with the atmosphere nor did it make us feel very welcome. The food was only average on this second visit, the chips totally different and just like standard cheap pub grub (but more expensive!). I can only imagine there were different chefs on our two visits hence the variation in the standard of the meals. This has the potential to be a great little pub restaurant but the interior needs updating and the welcome and food need to be consistently good.

I visited The Barn as we were staying at the campsite and we were in a party of 12. I prebooked our meals and changed our days, times etc a couple of times and the staff were very accommodating and always friendly when I spoke to them. The Barn is a lovely little pub - very cosy and we could see that alot of the people there are 'regulars' who perhaps visit the campsite regularly. It was nice. The drinks were reasonably priced and our food came quickly after seating. A couple of people were happy with their meals but unfortunately the majority weren't. One of the childrens meals was non existent. 1 sausage and a handful of chips. I'm sure it would have been scarce to a baby - never mind a 9 year old. One of our party had a word with the waitress as we thought they'd brought out a toddler portion and for £4.95, it was abit of a joke. The waitress explained that they only do 1 sausage with the kids meal. She did, however, return a few minutes later with a bowl of chips but it wouldn't really go amiss to do 2 sausages. We thought this was abit tight. The food itself was nice and everyone said it was all cooked lovely but the portions were a joke. The adults fish and chips meals were borderline onto a childs really and the amount of mushy peas you got was the size of a teaspoon. The chips were amazing and were the best some of us had tasted - it was just such a shame that they scrimped so much on the food. One of the fish and chips meals had very few chips compared to the other 2 and therefore, all varied in size. It's a nice place and could be fab if they just delivered decent sized portions. We wouldn't go back for this reason as a couple of us went back to our accommodation and started cooking!

Had a couple of evening meals at The Barn while staying at Woodhouse farm campsite. Having spent many evenings at the campsite and the barn around 8 years ago we have to say we were a bit disappointedThe Barn lacked the previous cosiness we remembered and the menu wasn't anything exciting. However the food was simple and well prepared / presented and priced at a reasonable price for family eating. On the second evening the chef took our order and was very helpful and this we greatly appreciated.

Popped in whilst looking for a quick lunch. Very unusual setting for a tea room but works well with about 10 tables set up between the pews & the altar. The pews act as an overflow area if all tables are taken but we arrived as one was being vacated. Very friendly staff, a relaxing atmosphere and excellent value for money. Menu is limited to a choice of rolls, soup and a tempting range of homemade cakes & scones. Rolls could have improved if pickle, mustard or mayonnaise had been offered but the cakes & scones made up for this as they were very nice. The church itself is a delightful building and worth a visit in it’s own right. An interesting alternative lunch option.
