Truffles in Harrogate

Great little cafe who served good honest food, nice people and service as well, getting harder to find places like this.

Welcoming and friendly cafe. Tasty food and good sized portions. I had a Full English. Speedy service and a varied menu. Will definitely visit again.

All day breakfast was great - lovely seeded bread toast, eggs as you like them, full works. As well as the usual bacon, sausage beans kind of breakfast, there were 5 items on the specials menu - I had the steak pie which was great - lovely pastry and full to the brim with steak, onions and gravy. It came with a side jug of beefy gravy (not flavoured water, this was gravy from the pie filling - strands of beef in a dark rich sauce - great for chip-dipping. Service came with a smile, the place is clean and bright and the prices were very reasonable - less than a tenner for a full plate of pie, chips and peas, and likewise for the very full English breakfast. If you don't fancy a full meal they do sandwiches, chip butties, scones and cakes to go with your tea/coffee. Worth a visit!

This is one of the best places for a breakfast in Harrogate, everything is good quality and the Sausages, locally sourced, are some of the best I have ever eaten. The owner is extremely welcoming and the staff are attentive. Many places charge a great deal for breakfast in Harrogate but Truffles are very reasonably priced. You might not get home made baked beans and really who needs them, everything is cooked extremely well and they are more than happy to cook items to your personal preference. I would recommend an extra sausage, you won't regret it.

I am gluten, dairy & egg intolerant and do not eat meat so eating out is difficult. The staff in this cafe were particularly helpful even checking the ingredients in the bread thankfully as it contained eggwhite. So they did me jacket potato & tuna ( without mayonnaise) & made me a salad to suit my diet. This service went way beyond most other cafes who always insist they cant offer tuna without mayonnaise. Well done Truffles cafe. I will definitely visit you again.

Brilliant little tea shop. I had a baked potato with roasted vegetables which was first class. I followed this with a fruit scone, again, lovely texture with plenty of fruit and butter.

Called in for coffee Saturday morning prior to a wedding in the afternoon and what a surprise we were greeted by young friendly staff offered a seat then given a menu. As I said we only called for coffee but after reading menu decided on petite breakfast this consisted of a round of crusty bread topped with grilled tomatoes back bacon and mushrooms what a great concept and all for around a fiver. Would recommend to anyone

I had a hot chocolate and a slice of carrot cake and it was delicious.

Pretty average would be my review of this place. I was probably expecting slightly bigger portions for the price, but the food was alright. I think I was feeling slightly let down as it wasn't as amazing as my friend had made it sound, but I would still be willing to give it another go :)

Friend and I only stopped for a coffee but I must say the breakfasts coming out of the kitchen looked delicious

Amazing full English and a sausage and bacon breakfast bap. Amazing service and fabulous food in a lovely clean cafe. Convenient for train travellers like us. It was a great start to our day.

We had the opportunity to visit Harrogate in September. We well remember Truffles Cafe near to the bus and rail stations. Having been there before and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service, We decided to drop in again. This visit was equally as good as our first. The arrangement of seating had changed since Covid, much more comfortable seating and bench type well upholstered. The central area was more open, the coffee and till machines moved to a much better location. We were welcomed enthusiastically and our order taken by the Manager. Our food and drinks came pretty quickly, exactly as we ordered and good quality hot food. Staff were very helpful and accommodating, we had a Gluten free in our party. The final account was pretty reasonable and we definitely will be going there again.

Their cooked breakfasts are lovely. I recommend it to my family.

Surprisingly good full English and a mug of tea for £8 . Quality bacon, decent sausage and 2 full rounds of toast.

Top banana, staff are lovely, food is fantastic and has a very nice relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Only went in for a coffee & a piece of cake I got a piece of carrot Cake 🍰 fresh and tasty nice price & good cappuccino however the same cannot be said for the customer service that has a lot to be desired they initially seemed very pleasant however this soon changed directly after I sneezed all I then got was rude comments both to me & my fellow colleague about me this is not the way to speak to your customers in the current situation you would think they would do all they can to keep their customers all three need sum urgent lessons in customer service if I spoke to my customers that way Id soon be spoken to about it by my manager's......

Was looking for an early morning cafe in Harrogate. There’s not much choice. Don’t go to this one at 8.30 am, the stated opening time. The doors open but no signs of life.

Came for lunch, had a panini which was fresh and enjoyable. Told they usually had specials but the day of my visit they were too busy. Nice place to stop!

We were on our way to the station and popped in here for a quick breakfast . Good menu with plenty to choose from . Made all the better by the chatty friendly staff full of advice for where to walk !

Looking for a honest, no frills place to grab some lunch. Stumbled on this place and had cracking mixed grill that didn't break the bank.

Soon as you walk into place, your greeted with a smile. Service is spot on, as well as food. Never had a problem.

Arrived and wasn’t greeted with a smile or warm welcome. Told to sanitise and sit ourselves down very abruptly. We proceeded to sit at the corner booth and a waitress came over and asked us what we’d like to eat and drink. Our drinks were brought over and plonked on the table with no engagement and another beverage was forgotten about until we had to get up and ask for it as we were given no attention in between. The breakfast was terrible, the bread was soggy with butter and cutlery and sauce was dumped on the table, not even pre laid. I’d of rather gone without breakfast this morning than go there ever again, extremely disappointed considering the circumstances, I thought the cafe would of been thrilled to be back open for business. Staff were un polite and miserable as sin, I recommend a thorough re-think of how the business is run there especially with the competition throughout Harrogate. My mates would cook up a better brekky hungover.

Husband and I were travelling from Northampton to Scotland when our campervan broke down. We spent some time in Truffles to kill some time and we were welcomed so much that we returned twice in one day. A warm welcome, with the best tea and food. If you want a cosy cafe with a friendly, family atmosphere, THIS IS THE PLACE.

Beautiful breakfast and a lovely re-modeling of the cafe over lockdown. The owner is also just a beautiful kind and welcoming. The experience was a joy.

Called at the cafe by chance as the original place we had found was closed . Served by a lovely young lady who was polite and helpful . Cooked breakfast was perfect, we will definitely call again .

Hurrah, great to be back on a regular basis at Truffles. You don't realise how much you miss the norm. The owner has had the place completely re-vamped during shutdown, new relaxing decor, tables and seating. As usual, great food and well presented. Enlarged kitchen and new seating and table to help with distancing. Hand gel as you enter and real care on service. Well done. We are definitely going again very soon. Really handy location for either car park or bus station etc. Lovely coffee with a new machine and easy location. Always, spotlessly clean and welcoming. Great to have you back.

Service terrible but such a shame because breakfast was good. On arrival we were told to take a seat and after a considerable amount of time the waitress came to take our order. Tea and coffee delivered to the table without tea spoons. Food was good but let down my impersonal service. Not what you would expect from a small independent business.

B.B.B. Yes, that translated mean Best Bacon Buttie. That's what we had at this charming and easy access cafe near both the Bus station and Railway station in Harrogate. The staff are always friendly and helpful, you can have a coffee and cake, soup, breakfast and lots of other items at lunch time. The service is quick and your food cooked to order. Great display of mouth watering cakes to tempt the palate. There are many other dishes available in addition to take away items. We will definitely be going again when in the area.

Wow whilst staying in Harrogate my husband had looked on Tripadvisor for the best breakfasts in the area. And we weren't disappointed with Truffles. We had a very tasty and delicious full english breakfast. Very friendly place and a good sign that the bus drivers regularly use it for a sarnie or breakfast! Highly recommend it and excellent value

What a little jem! Found by accident ... table service attended to by a ver pleasant young lady, the food was freshly cooked and couldn't have been nicer... will be back .

I live in Cambridge but regularly visit Truffles in Harrogate. From my first visit I noticed straight away the warm and friendly welcome. The menu is great and varied, and everything is made and presented to a high standard. Nothing is too much trouble. It’s easy to spend hours here in the warm and relaxing environment. There is a sign on the wall saying ‘Family and friends gather here’ and it’s easy to see why.

I enjoyed my visit, well overdue!! Coffee and a great cheese scone big enough for two!! Friendly young man served me, unfortunately didn't catch his name. Will call back in soon.

Having sampled quite a few pricey offerings from more prestigious restaurants in town I can honestly express my opinion that the breakfast at Truffles represents the best quality and value in Harrogate. Delicious food served with a friendly smile. Try one; you won't be disappointed.

Didn't feel very welcomed, took 20 mins for a coffee and 30 mins for a breakfast. Limited menu. Perfect poached eggs, dry bacon and even drier sausage. Prices are ok but won't be returning.

A warm welcome greeted me when I went to Truffles today. I ordered scrambled egg with salmon on wholemeal toast and tea to drink. The service was prompt and polite and the food really was delicious.Perfectly located for town and the bus and train stations.The newspapers are available if you want to read and relax. The friendly atmosphere, good food and cleanliness of the cafe make this a lovely little place to visit whether you are having a quick drink or a full meal. Enjoy yourselves.

Arriving in Harrogate at lunch time we walked straight from the multi storey car park into Truffles, a welcoming little cafe near the bus station.Simple home cooked hot food was on the menu, made to order and ideal for a light lunch. Sandwiches, panini, cakes and scones were all on offer along with tea and refillable filter coffee which was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and the service was quick and efficient. As we sat to eat Jacket Potatoes, panini’s, scones and crumpets with our drinks, bus drivers on thief breaks came in and out, regulars as familiar with Truffles as the staff. The bustle of the cafe made for a nice relaxing lunch, preparing is for some retail therapy. Very reasonably priced and a nice start to the day. ‘If the bus drivers use it, it must be good’

Good homely cafe, near the bus station in Harrogate. Friendly, very helpful staff, particularly with allergies and dietary requirements. Good, honest food, reasonably priced, lots of regular customers who are known and greeted by Di and her team. Nothing is too much trouble.

Always love coming to Truffles for a cheeky weekday lunch, lots of choice including gluten free sausages, bread/toast and cakes. Went to this cafe as we were staying nearby ,lady that served ,seemed pleasant,ordered breakfast ,my scrambled eggs hadn't been mixed properly,so there were lumps of yellow ,and almost certain it had been cooked in the microwave,the most disappointing thing was that we had to sit eating our breakfast while the lady and young assistant were talking about an incident that had happened on Facebook!! They were slagging off someone,and we could hear every word ,!! Not my idea of breakfast out ! Hense the review .

This little cafe is a real gem. We visited for the second time last week, having the All Day Breakfast. It was as good as any we've had in good hotels. The café itself is spotless, and almost next to the bus station. I'd really recommend it.

The food really was amazing. It tasted great and was very well cooked. The service was also very quick and it was all very clean. In addition, the staff were very friendly and even stamped a very old gift card, that I don't think they give away anymore.

We visited here last November and decided to return this year while setting up at the HIC, just as good as we remembered! Delicious breakfast with a good gluten free option, simple cafe clearly well supported by locals which is always a good sign. Recommend.

Hi i visited this cafe with my Mum.It is ideally situated close to the bus station and very central in town. Serves lovely teas coffees and cold drinks .Lovely food lots of variety.Very reasonably priced.Staff are very friendly. Can certainly recomend a visit to Truffles.

Coffee good and you get a refill

This used to be a great place, but now the service is very slow staff chat to each other and ignore customers, food not as good.

Perfect staff for what ever day your having

La comida es muy buena, cocinado de forma eficiente y a un buen nivel. Las bebidas también están bastante bien, aunque un poco más de variedad sería precioso! El personal puede ser muy lento y a menudo no parecía que quería estar allí. Un poco a medida nuestra capacitación a recorrer un largo camino, sin embargo, el suyo es un café lindo. I go to truffles most days for my lunch i have met others who were on their own and now have become good friends .i love the atmosphere can be fun and is always friendly.i have never had a bad experience in truffles and enjoy the good selection of food. Nothing is too much trouble. I can highly recommend the homemade cakes.
