Love this bar, not changed much since 1st built. Food was v.good, served by a young and friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Blessed to have The Barley Mow as my local. Great atmosphere and a good selection of beers which is regularly refreshed. Excellent Sunday roast, evening meals and bar snacks. Cosy fire in the winter and beer garden in the summer. Every pub should be like this 🏆

Went for Sunday lunch (and a few ales). Both food and beer were brilliant! Lovely relaxed vibe in the place with a great atmosphere. Roast beef was perfectly cooked for me (slightly rare), likewise the veg/Yorkshire pud/spuds/gravy were also top notch. Happy to highly recommend!!

Wow! We had a much needed family meet on a wet and windy Sunday afternoon. 10 mins from the train station. Great choice of beers to try (each one we had was excellent). Perfect Sunday roast. Best pub we’ve been to in years. Keep doing what you’re doing Barley Mow!

Always a decent beer here. It's owned by Bristol Beer factory but they have other local brewers on offer as well. Prices aren't silly here and the service is always good. The food from cord kitchen is good too.

My go to place for a roast in Bristol - Cord kitchen is the best. They also do good burgers during the week. Amazing selection of beers on tap - also have a fridge of European / belgium / german beers which are also delicious. Dog and child friendly - book ahead for roasts

Great little traditional pub, a little off the beaten path but a regular stop on our catch-up brewery walks. Visited with a group of 10 early afternoon Saturday and were lucky enough to be able to grab a couple of tables, but can get busy. Brilliant selection of local beers, great pub atmosphere and the food looked good too, although I was too far away to snag a chip off my friend's plate

Acabo de comer el más delicioso asado aquí. Un verdadero pub de invierno. Hermoso fuego de leña y radiadores subieron al máximo hecho para un pub muy acogedor y cálido. Perfecto para el invierno. La carne estaba buena y el cordero se derretía en la boca. Asados, yorkshire, verduras y salsa, todo excelente y un montón de ellos. El queso de coliflor comprado como acompañamiento también era agradable. Los budines son enormes. Cerveza buena y el personal era muy amable con un servicio relajado pero atento. Debo reservar por adelantado, que nos alegramos de tener como todas las mesas estaban reservadas. Precio razonable tanto para la comida como para la cerveza. Muy recomendable.

It’s a pub not a hotel. Very good service and great value meals and snacks. Very friendly people both the staff and customers.

We went there for Sunday roast. We had beef, lamb and the vegetarian option and they were all amazing. The side vegetables were the best I've had as they weren't the usual ones and they were all seasonal. The beers were fab and the staff amazing. The pub itself was cosy and quiet and felt a bit to be outside Bristol. Parking is very limited, so I'd suggest to walk if possible.

Best kind of pub experience you could wish for! Great local beers, food is exceptional! I the chicken with Korean kim chi sauce, which was created from scratch by the talented young chefs at the Mo. Was so good, we came back for the Sunday roast, it was a feast to remember! TBH best pub toast i hade had in years. Will be back!

Never been inside until recently. Quite a nice beer garden with good selection of beverages and also not as dear as other places in the centre.

Excellent little pub with a good selection of beers and some very tasty burgers to suit all dietary requirements. Service was a little slow due to their only being one member of staff behind the bar, but that's probably because it was 12pm on a Saturday when they'd only just opened. I've been in before and there's always been 2-3 people at busier times. Great atmosphere and good variety of indoor and outdoor seating.

This was exactly what we were looking for - a good old fashioned English pub. They had a great range of ales and beers on tap. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the setting comfortable. It’s exactly what it appears to be, and it does it very well.

This is my kind of pub. Simple but lovely decor, super nice staff, a good pint and great music playing. I was in during the day so it was mellow, but I can imagine it's much more lively of an evening. Pretty much perfect really.

Good place to visit with a large group. A decent selection of IPAs, a small beer garden, and they do food. We were a large group and it worked out well because they have a couple of large tables. The burger and fries were great too.

An interesting little pub situated between an industrial estate and housing, close to Temple Meads train station. Friendly staff and good selection of beers and ciders. I didn't have food, but the burgers looked delicious and were very popular. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a quick bite to eat and want to try some local brews.

Quite location not difficult to park ,had sold of few options kid wise, food was nice and well presented, nice open fire dogs are allowed ,only things was toilet weren't very clean ,bar was very slow on service ,we were all squeezed on a table not much room at all .

We came today for mothers day, this was my first time here and I have to say the roast dinner was absolutely fantastic! We had great service the atmosphere was just right, cosy pub with great little garden out back, If your looking for a banging roast in Bristol, the barley mow, wins!

We stayed in Bristol for the night nearby and needed to find somewhere close on foot to eat before a gig at the Marble Factory and decided to give here a try. The food was great, a limited but tasty menu, both my husband and I went for burgers and they were delicious! Great selection of ales on tap, and also a really good selection of bottled beers. The barman was super helpful with recommendations and we will definitely be coming again when next in the area

Small pub with amazing food and atmosphere differently need to book up for a Sunday roast which will not disappoint, the craft beers are to die for if you enjoy a nice drink.

An excellent Sunday roast at good price. Everything was nicely cooked, with fresh veg, a choice of sauces, and cauliflower cheese available as an extra side. A good range of veggie options. Good range of drinks. Everyone enjoyed their food. Friendly service and relaxed atmosphere with well spaced tables, and a lovely warm fire. We booked for 8 people a couple of days in advance. We recommend and would eat here again when in the area.

We had a sunday roast and it was lovely. Good atmosphere, lovely staff and great place. Felt like at home. Yorkshire pudding a bit small but overall a great place.

Excellent Sunday Roast from Cord Kitchen, the Barley Mow never disappoints

Spent two fantastic evenings here, enjoying a superb roast dinner on the second evening. Even though we were the last orders of the day, the dinners were excellent. Between the four of us, we had venison, pork and beef. All were absolutely amazing!

A delicious Sunday Roast! Really tasty and every thing cooked perfectly. Roast potatoes cooked with rosemary were second to none. The staff are friendly, helpful and very attentive. Great selection of beers and knowledgeable bar staff. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Looking forward to going back!

We had a first class Sunday roast dinner with good ale. Very reasonably priced - definitely good value for money. Excelled service - and with a smile. It’s quite a basic pub - good for drinking as well as eating- but that just adds to its charm.

Very good selection of beer friendly knowledgeable staff, unfortunately the roast lamb was very disappointing, it was like eating a kebab leftovers with added gravy. Don't have the lamb it comes in a rosti circle of dried ends, wish I had had beef.

I've had many happy visits to this pub over many years and have been happy to pay city centre prices for their beer, because of the selection offered. Service has only ever been adequate and after tonight's visit i must finally comment that the food is always (historically) an overpriced disappointment (apart from the Sunday roast which is an overpriced pleasure) and I won't be fooled again, 🎸🎶 ☹️. 3 stars because of my fondness for the place despite my constant disappointment.
