The Bakery in Bexley

We travelled up from Devon. To see friends in North Kent and Bexleyheath. We used to live in the area. We (the family ) popped into the bakers. I was specifically looking for their absolutely wonderful Rum Truffles. And they had 4 remaining. It was worth the round trip for those rum Truffles alone. I haven't come across any since we moved.

Visited today 28/09/24 in the morning to buy a fresh Bloomer loaf of bread. Asked for the loaf to be cut and wrapped. When I got home and opened the bread it was stale at best a couple of days old. For £2.90 I think this is poor service no wonder customers do not shop local. Do not use this bakery

Got a sausage roll and a bacon and sausage roll for £4.10! Was so nice as well, wish I had time to get another. I’m a local, don’t come often but now this is going to be my new breakfast spot.

Love it here! Every time we visit my sister we stop off for treats. Cakes are so tasty and great coffee too! Today was our second visit. Definitely be back.

Came in from my trip back to Bexleyheath and got off the train and fancied a little snack! I chose the right day as the snack was lovely and was given the best customer service by Tayla!

Me and my partner popped in for a quick treat on a rainy day, and I'm glad that we did. Lovely service, and the desserts are the best I've tasted in years. My only improvement would be to suggest having clearer prices either in person or online for reference before coming in, as I'd feel more inclined to buy more if I knew the total beforehand. Having said this, everything is very reasonably priced considering the quality of the food, so if you're considering visiting, definitely do- it's a local gem.

Today’s selection was a meal deal. Chicken mayo and salad roll with crisps and a drink. Cakes are amazing as well. So many to choose from. Clean and tidy inside and out. Seating area inside and outside. Staff are friendly, polite and very smart. Highly recommended

I had the most amazing service here, I was let down by a cake company who went into liquidation a week before my sons birthday, I went to this bakery to see whether they could help, the lady couldn’t be more helpful, she could do the cake within the week and made it to my specification... it was a really good price, my son was so thrilled and it was a beautiful cake... can’t thank you enough, will definitely use again... many thanks

For me a great way to grab a treat when I've just missed my train. Bread, rolls, sausage rolls, cakes, iced treats. All fab. Good value. Staff always welcoming and friendly.

Freshly baked on the premises - wouldn't buy bread from anywhere else! Multi grain is our favourite but all others very good.

The rudeness of staff is shocking - overpriced and rude service. Staff will not answer back, will serve a small espresso in a small cup and will overcharge for it. That summarises it pretty well.

Visited thrice making sure the first and second visit wasn't just a bad luck for having dried muffin, but unfortunately, 3rd visit was worse!

I cannot recommend this bakery enough, Lisa has been baking cakes for our company celebrations for a number of years and nothing is too much trouble or last minute for her to accept with great results. The cakes look good and taste amazing, we joke that our employees are powered on cake, we always take the opportunity to celebrate with cake when we can! The red velvet is out of this world! We recently had a special request for an extra pretty cake for someone special and Lisa delivered, it was beautiful.... thanks Lisa your a star!

I am a regular user of the bakery and sometimes the cafe. I will not be using it for the foreseeable however due to the terrible mess outside. There are today leaves and general litter present and it looks awful. Surely the impression you give to passersbye is important. This mess is not new and has been present for weeks.

Easily located for Bexleyheath Station directly opposite, where you can easily pick up a snack on way to & from work.

Popped in today to have a cuppa and a snack after getting school uniform just up the road. We ordered two cups of tea, a cake crisps and a soft drink. I would have liked a little more time to decide but found it really difficult to see the cakes as we were asked to move 3 times by a lady cleaning the tables. Not her fault but really made me feel in the way. The tea came out like dish water, I had a sip but it really wasn’t drinkable. The cupcake my daughter chose was hard and dry as a bone. I am not a cook but could have made better my self at home. Very disappointed. I like going to independent coffee shop but I won’t be visiting here again.

We pop in here regularly and the large pot of tea is excellent and huge for 2 people. It is well run and definitely a bargain.

I use this bakery regular for breakfast/lunch/cakes/ fresh bread The bakery staff are always happy friendly and will chat with you, the sit in option is great to. Me and my family all love this bakery

Great bakers nice and local nice coffee big selection of cakes but can be expensive more then a supermarket.

As a regular customer I have been really disappointed today by the “managers” lack of customer service. The normal manager is currently on maternity leave and before she left skimmed milk was nearly always available for tea and coffee. When I queried why there was no skimmed milk available any more I was quite rudely told I was the only person that drinks it. She then answered the telephone before I had even finished discussing the matter. Due to the lack of consistency in their stocks most people don’t bother to ask but market research would show that many customers would choose this option if it were available and advertised. Crook log sports centre now stocks skimmed milk due to customer demand. Even the tiny Puccinos on the station Platform stocks skimmed milk (and makes far nicer coffee without grit at the bottom of every cup). Really disappointed by the customer service which is a shame as most of the staff are really friendly. Thinking this was an off day for the “manager” but some constructive feedback shouldn’t be responded to with such attitude. Really put off and unlikely to use again which is a shame due to her complete ignorance and attitude when there was no need. It’s a real shame as I liked meeting friends here due to the convenience even if the coffee was rubbish it was nice to support a local business rather than a coffee chain. .

Staff are so friendly service with w smile every time I’ve been visiting since 2013, all The food is excellent and tasty and also value for money I’d recommend this to anyone

My wife and I popped in to this bakers for a coffee and cake on our way to the station. The table arrangement was very cramped and the whole eating area has seen better days, very tired. The coffee and cake were good but over priced. We will not be returning.

I have been going to this bakery since I was younger, always choosing my favourite shortbread man with smarties. I still go when I can, and have begun having lunch there - a great array of options and fab service.

He ido a la panadería a diario por más de 4 años y son sin duda la mejor opción en Pickford Lane para el almuerzo. Desde una simple rollo jamón un extravagante paninis hechas a la orden que nunca dejará de servir un aperitivo de tentadores.

Absolutely love this place, it makes me feel like a kid again when I look at the cake counter with many traditional cakes looking so yummy & clearly made with passion.The staff are always polite & friendly, I cannot pass here without going inside.

No hay muchas tiendas donde ya pastel alrededor de sus pasteles. eligió El olor solo se merece una visita, y para ver las filas de tortas y tienen envueltos individualmente elegimos para usted, cielo! Sentarse en el sol o en la cafetería, hay un buen menú con ofertas, buena selección de dulces y sándwiches. La selección de pasteles es excelente rematado por algunos pan. Si tener té o café tienen una tarjeta de fidelización. Hacer parada de si pasar.

Me encanta esta panadería, tienen una gran selección de pasteles y pan, debe ser difícil competir con las grandes cadenas de supermercados en la zona, por eso no es bueno para apoyar el pan de todas las empresas, además de que no tienen miedo de probar nuevas ideas de negocios. Además de una cafetería, no comidas y té de la tarde y dirigido un esquema de tarjeta de fidelización para ofertas de café y comida. Los precios no son los más baratos, pero son razonables, pero recuerda que tienen gastos generales de negocios. La única crítica que tengo es que no hacen una gran café para llevar, como el de Bexleyheath Station, que cuesta 2,75. Es posible igualar eso? Sigan con el buen trabajo.

The best birthday cake to look at and to eat, perfection sponge, butter icing. Excellent, the cake fed 40 guests who all agreed that this cake was amazing. Thank you

The bread is fantastic. Not the cheapest loaf on the market but always good. The sausage rolls and gingerbread men are my family's favourites. Never really had a bad purchase but a couple of the staff can be a bit snitty and would sooner chat around the bread slicer at the rear of the shop than attend to the customers at the front. Best day to shop is Saturday because the "Saturday girls" are so willing to serve pleasantly.Super opening hours and a great boost to this shopping parade

The Bakery is a good stop. The Coffee is good (Rombouts) . The cakes are yummy as well as the Sandwiches. They have good deals for afternoon teas.The younger staff are very pleasant and accommodating. There is one older staff member who is very miserable, and makes no eye contact, never smiles. The toilet facilities are small and cramped, and there is no disposable paper towels. Just an unhygienic towel, which every one uses. I suppose this is why it only got a 4 on the hygiene scale . The toilet is small, and the let down is the unhygienic

Always visit for a coffee and sandwich. Staff are really nice. Absolutely love their ice cream milkshakes! Could be filled up a lot more but quality makes up for it.

I checked online for a bakery in Bexleyheath and found out they had a facebook page with different pictures of their cakes. I sent a message and got a reply in good time. I visited the shop and ordered a Super Mario cake and cupcakes for my son's birthday. Not only were staff polite, but the cakes were so yummy. I took a chance as I had never eaten their cakes before and was not disappointed, the cake was soft and delicious. My son loved the cake and I will definitely be ordering more cakes from them. Will be recommending them to all my friends.

I came here with my mum to test out The Bakery's Afternoon tea for two. We had a choice of three different types of sandwiches (we had ham and mustard, cheese and tomato, chicken and bacon) we also had a choice of three cakes (we choose a cherry slice, viensse finger and bread pudding). All of this for £10 was a bargain. So much food we couldn't eat it all but all very tasty. I would definitely pop in again although to make it a true afternoon tea there really should be scones with clotted cream

Excellent cakes and buns! Very friendly staff - especially the blonde teen. Is not my local but it's worth the journey!! I would recommend the carrot cake. The eggless cakes are also delicious!

I went to order a cake. The owner (or maybe the manager) is probably the rudest person I have ever met. i wanted to go and have a look at the cakes. Within 30 seconds, she said made a face and said I should make up my mind soon. The whole staff except for one girl (probably a new joiner) were rude. Since there are no bakeries nearby, I had to order. The cake though good was not what I wanted. Nevertheless the 3 stars because of the girl who at least an an effort to be polite and the cake being on time and decent tasting. I will never go back here.

Picked up my mother in laws 50th birthday cake to find it cracked. The lady was rude and unhelpful said we either take it or we don't. It's the day of the party and turning up with no cake would be upsetting. It's a special birthday. Feeling let down really won't be buying from again.

Their breads and buns are excellent; fresh and very reasonably priced. They also make coffee and fresh sandwiches and rolls.

friendly local bakery with a great service and a few chairs for sitting. opens early perfect for a bacon buttie on the way to the station and also makes a variety of cakes and breads including gluten free and seeded.
