Had a takeaway. Whilst waiting for meal noted the state of the eating area- filthy reused disposable table cloths, food all over the floor . No one had cleared up in an age, apparent by the state of the whole area and it was not busy. This should of given me a warning! Bahajs were dripping in fat, what chicken in the Korai ! As for for the pilaf rice….neon green bits in it and so over cooked! And it smelled awful. 80% ended up in the recycling bin. Waste of time and money- very disappointed and absolutely not recommended

Excellent Indian selection, good quality at a very good price. Very friendly atmosphere and service. Volume of dishes exceeded our expectations and unfortunately we left some food. Easy to find the pub and easy parking. This is a golden nugget of a pub and we will definitely visit again. Thank you.

A large group of us from work (23) went to the Badgers Wood for a curry end-July ‘22. The food was delicious, freshly cooked and the team were really friendly and helpful. Everyone in my team said how good the food was; tasty and plenty of it. The only reason I dropped one score was it took a very long time to serve us all. Given they knew it was large group, they should have been a little better organized, but they did apologise and said they’d messed up the ordering. I’ll certainly go back and if it’s in a large group will order ahead.

Recently went to the badgers and it’s a cozy pub with nice staff. My complaint would be the food took a while to come and overall the menu and drinks seem to be pretty expensive compared to most pubs. Overall this is a nice little pub.

Just walking the dog in the forest and thought I’d stop for a wine and a bite to eat. The bar staff were very friendly and I asked for the menu. Good choice of food but their speciality is Indian. I had the chicken tikka wrap which was lovely.

The Badgers was open towards the end of a family walk in the area. We were made very welcome, loads of space in the garden, great beers on tap and excellent service from the team. Apparently under new management recently, but we are tempted to do a return visit for food!. Thanks for looking after us with 2 granddaughters and a dog on the afternoon of the Euros finals!!

Great overall experience. Thought I would pop back in as there’s new management. I went down to watch the football with some mates which was a great experience. Lovely cosy local pub with multiple screens for the football, friendly staff and reasonable prices. After a few drinks I decided to order some cheesy chips from the pub menu which were great. As the evening progressed, I was still a little hungry so I decided to order some curry from the Indian inside the pub I had the chicken Kasundi. Absolutely great food, tasty and again reasonably priced especially for the quality of food. Certainly would return. A great overall experience in a cosy setting.

What a gem - well done the Cumin Kitchen ! Popped in for a birthday meal yesterday eve, although the room setting was a bit stark, the food was a revelation.. crisp, .fluffy Bhajis, and the menu selection included regional specialties not seen before so we both had something different and were not disappointed - sensational layers of flavour, and so much we had a doggy bag to go ... will definitely be visiting again !

We visited the Badger's Wood for a meal, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The Waiter (Sam I think) was very knowledgable and helpful with the menu, advising us to try more traditional dishes i.e. not your typical Madras, Balti etc. I had the 'Railway Curry(Lamb on the bone)' which was a delight! Very tasty not very spicy, Naan bread perfectly cooked, and prompt service. Lovely food and great staff.

My local although quite a distance for me to walk to but, well worth it. Do not expect bells and whistles, it is a traditional boozer with a wooden floor, a well kept Pool Table, a Dart Board and a big telly (no Sky or BT) in the Bar. The lounge has low level tables and seats and not much else. It will be full of locals and in the Bar there might be lots of Dogs, don't like that idea? Don't come and moan about it. HOWEVER, what sets this pub apart is not just the good choice of traditional Real Ales, Lagers and Ciders, or the live bands every Saturday, it is the FOOD which is nigh on Gastropub quality. I have absolutely no doubt given a bigger kitchen and own staff could produce Michelin quality if he wanted too. I would consider it a varied menu and at a good price compared locally, especially as you get MAHOOSIVE portions. If you want one his fabulous Roasts, make sure you wake up and have your breakfasts early on the Sunday morning, say around 6am as these bad boys will fill every corner of your belly. Its back on the map for sure and I don't really want to spread the word as I don't want to share.......

Had fish and chips here. Massive plate full, but unfortunately my fish had a very strong smell of ammonia. I suspect it was quite a long way from being fresh. I also ordered a sparkling mineral water which came as a pint and again had a weird smell, this time of bleach. That's usually from the draught dispenser not been flushed through properly after cleaning. I've never been served sparkling mineral water from draught so I'm not sure what was going on there. Asked for desserts but there were none available as they had run out, just a selection of ice cream flavours. Sorry will definitely not be back. We have eaten in The Wellington Arms in Baughurst many times and it's always fabulous albeit significantly more expensive. Save up and go there. Chose this on the strength of previous reviews but they were not accurate based on this experience. There is a lot of choice on the menu but they would be far better off reducing the menu drastically and concentrating on doing a few things well and fresh.

Visited for Sunday lunch Early November 2015. First impressions were of a tired suburban pub in need of TLC - BUT the food was fantastic, as was the welcome. The roast dinner was "just like yer mum used to make" - plentiful and tasty with some up-market touches and even a good amount of garlic in the gravy. We had 3 different roast meats and ALL were tender, fresh and plentiful. Given some investment this shabby old pub would be a real gem. Highly recommended, but don't expect posh surroundings - just wonderful food and good beer.

I had heard that the traditional pub that was already a great place to drink beer was doing food, so I went to investigate (4 times so far). The food is excellent. It covers a wide range of baguettes and snacks, through to full 'pub grub' type meals and tops it off with a great 'Specials' board. I couldn't finish the 2 plates of Sunday lunch that I was served as one serving, but I wanted to so badly. Everything was just so tasty and perfectly cooked. Needless to say it gets busy, so book ahead to avoid disappointment.

The Badgers' was never known for its food until recently, I'd heard good things so gave it a try. A modest and attractive menu with regularly changing specials, the food is well presented and extremely tasty, nice position sizes mean good value for money. The only thing that let's it down is the setting which has been run-down for some time. Not unpleasant, but in need of modernization. Doesn't detract too much from the overall experience. Thursdays quiz at 8pm is always good

I visited this pub after reviewing all the reviews for Tadley on Tripadvisor. I certainly wasn't disappointed. The menu selection is fairly extensive for traditional English pub grub and the surrounds are certainly a traditional basic pub of old.I had the whitebait which you don't see very often and I thought it was only coming with salad and crusty bread but there was also a lovely portion of chips. My friend had the gammon which was massive.Excellent portions of very well presented English food.

I have been eating at the Badgers before the chef, Kevin, had started there. And when I say it was a disappointed, it really was, the atmosphere was dead and it looked like most of the people were too. When I found out a new chef had started I thought me and my daughter should try it out, and we go nearly every week! Not only have I heard what conditions Kevin has to work in from a friend that used to work there, but he also wworks on his own, and only has a kitchen porter to help him! This man is clearly wasted at this pub but then again he has done it wonders! I hope him all the best in the future and hope he finds a suitable placement soon, best wishes.

We arrived on time for our Sunday lunch booking. They were clearly busy but there's no real excuse for the very poor service we received. We were kept waiting at the bar for several minutes until someone finally showed us to our table. No-one took a drinks order so we got our own. We must have been waiting half an hour until our food order was taken and it would be another 40 minutes until it was finally delivered. I commented to the server that they shouldn't take the booking if they couldn't cope. Shortly after, the landlord came and suggested that I had been rude to his staff! The food was ok when it did arrive - typical pub lunch, but we will not be coming here again. I was shocked at just how poor the service was.
