We went for lunch in the Atrium. We've been to Tortworth many times before. I'm afraid the food was decidedly inferior. My wife had a smoked ham and cheddar cheese sandwich; the ham was thin slices similar to a cheap pack of ham from Tesco's and the cheese looked like a Kraft cheese slice. The bread was nice, but really this is not what we expect from an establishment such as Tortworth Court - our local cafe serves proper sliced ham and cheese at half the price. I had a Caesar salad which I am afraid was tasteless; if you can't taste the dressing than frankly you just have a salad.

A Beautiful Hotel with lovely grounds. On check in I asked about dinner in the Atrium Bar and was told it can’t be booked but was told I would get in the Restaurant if I needed too. The Atrium Bar was packed and The Restaurant fully booked. So would have booked on check in had I known. We eventually got a table in The Atrium Bar in a corner. We had a lovely waiter who found us a table before the food arrived who was very efficient( young man with glasses) Tables can’t be booked for Breakfast so we were in quite a queue. I think booking times would be better. The older man in the restaurant (short) was helpful on both days. The young staff also very helpful. We had lunch outside and ordered from a Hut but he kept having to go inside to get things as he was on his own. Beautiful Hotel, lovely grounds , lovely room. Just a shame about the Dining.

We visited for a dining experience only but thought it worth sharing as I will not be going back. The level of cleanliness within the hotel is absolutely shocking. We were seated in the atrium bar at a sticky and dirty table which had not been wiped down from the previous guests, and had to sit next to tables of dirty plates and glassware for the duration of our meal. The rest of the atrium area was filthy and needed a deep clean. The service he received was extremely poor - the lady we had was doing her best but there were not enough staff to cover the whole restaurant. Moving on to the food, this was mediocre (at best) and extremely overpriced. I had a club sandwich which was £16 and was nothing special. Couple that with the overall poor ambience of the hotel and I was extremely disappointed. Overall the hotel and grounds are beautiful, but it is totally let down by its cleanliness and poor service. Not what you would expect given the prices they are charging and I do hope that management read this and do better. I do note from reading previous reviews they only tend to respond to the positive ones…

Lovely building - awful service - do not use for a business meeting! This is a stunning location and I thought a perfect place to host a meeting over coffee. WRONG Sat outside and used the app to order 2 coffees on the terrace. Coffees ordered and paid for … nothing arrived … after 15 mins I called reception and lady said she would ‘chase them up’. After 35 mins still no drinks (this is a hour long meeting!) and so I went inside and the chap at reception said “we’re not serving drinks outside as its windy”. I said how was I meant to know that?? And the app let me order and PAY for the drinks? He just shrugged!! Hugely frustrated my meeting ended without us managing to get a drink in an hour.Moved inside to the atrium bar for second meeting and actually went to the counter to order. All good so far, they said they would bring it to the table …. 20mins later we’re still watching them try to work out the coffee machine. So, just go to Starbucks!!About an hour and a half to get a coffee and you’ll look stupid to your client or colleague if it’s you that choose this place for the meeting.Too few staff and the ones that were there had little of no training.Such a shame as this looked ideal a a meeting venue.

We ate here twice and the staff were lovely but not being able to book was a problem as there is only one other restaurant in the hotel. The room was very busy but there were some open doors to let in air. The staff all wore masks. We would have liked more on the menu with some good gluten free and vegetarian options. Steak was expensive at £28 but pizza was good and resonably priced with glten free base available. Watch out there is a service charge added to everything even if you go up to the bar yourself.

The setting of the Atrium Bistro Bar is beautiful. Such a lovely setting. The menu isn’t ‘cheap’ but the food definitely is. The food was the standard I’d expect at a very cheap pub or weatherspoons. The price and gorgeous setting was no representative of what was served.Watery curry that had obviously been microwaved. Cold chips with hard (melted… not) cheese and dry Mac and cheese balls with no cheese… just dry pasta in breadcrumbs. The restaurant manager was accommodating and took our food off the bill once we voiced our concerns but sadly would never visit here again. If you want a cheap kids meal this night do the job, if you want a lovely yummy meal… don’t bother! 1 star for the lovely setting only

Went as we were staying in hotel. Restaurant was busy as it was Saturday night. We were told we would have to grab a table when one became available and there was no reservation system. Building is fabulous and historically interesting a lovely place to eat. We sat with a drink for twenty minutes and no one came to us. Asked a member of staff if we should order food at bar and was advised yes. Went to bar and tried to order and was told that a waiter would come and see us. Advised we had been there a while and no one had been anywhere near us. Also advised that people who had been waiting for a table after we sat down had already given orders. As I said they were busy and staff were running about all over the place. There did not appear to be any system or structure and it appeared Management were struggling to deal with the situation and also just appeared to be directing people without actually doing little bits and bobs themselves. Having waited a little longer a barmaid actually came over and took our order. After our experience so far I wasn't expecting too much especially when my wife asked for no tomato or lettuce with her burger. To be fair the food arrived within a reasonable time and the order was spot on and of a really good standard. One issue was that we did ask for mustard to go with our food but it never arrived.

First problem was trying to read the menu in the very poor light in the bar area, maybe just me but I really struggled.I was very disappointed with the choice - or lack of it. A few options for starters and again only a few choices of main course.I'm not a fussy eater so I found something I liked but it was very limited and what there was on the menu was quite expensive and not particularly good either, pretty much basic pub grub.Staff were friendly and the food appeared quickly but if there was somewhere locally as an alternative without having to drive (I stayed overnight in the hotel), I would have definitely gone elsewhere.

This is an amazing place. The room is spectacular, the food excellent, the staff lovely. However, unnecessary plastic straws are freely handed out (or available on the bar) and all the biscuits with your hot drink are plastic-wrapped. So disappointing, and just not classy at all. Come on Tortworth, this is an easy change to make and would rid the world of thousands of pieces of plastic litter per week/month. How about a small piece of shortbread on the saucer - much more 'Tortworth'?

When we went to pay at the Atrium bar we were astounded to see how many flies there were. They were everywhere landing on the cups, glasses etc. It cannot be healthy, if the flies are like this in the public area what is it like behind the scenes. I complained to staff in the main restaurant who offered to call the duty manager but what would have been the point, what would they have done other than to say they are trying to sort it, with so many flies the Atrium should be closed until the problem is sorted.

We live up the road and come here when we want a quick but fancier lunch. The hotel grounds and atrium dining area are absolutely lovely and the food is notably good. Today my daughter had the kids’ burger and was given an adult size setup with a juicy, perfectly cooked burger on a pretzel bun and some of the best chips we’ve tried in a while—perfectly crisp on the outside and lightly seasoned. I was surprised to find several vegan options, including the hearty bean tagine with couscous, which was delicious. My husband had a margherita pizza, with more than ample cheese that was perfectly prepared. We ordered at the bar and like usual, the food was out in a snap. The modern, cozy seating and sky-high ceilings provide one of our favorite lunch settings. The prices are what you’d expect at a hotel, but 100% worth it. Lots of great drink options, including draft ales, Italian espresso and specialty cocktails.

We ate in this Bistro on the second night of our stay, thanks to a disastrous first night in the main restaurant. I ordered an egg mayonnaise sandwich and a side order of chunky chips. The bread appeared to be from a bog standard supermarket loaf and there was a lot more mayonnaise than egg. I asked for the meal to be accompanied by a double fever tree tonic (they only had the small bottles) in a nice glass with ice and a slice. I got a pint glass with a plastic straw - there was ice, but no slice. I would have quite liked a pudding, but due to the daft rule of not being able to charge anything to the room unless you had a credit rather than a debit card, payment was asked for immediately. I didn't want the faff of having to re-order.

Only a few peeps on Sunday mid-afternoon and one was drunk as a Lord and seemingly spoiling for trouble. Background music was fine. Quality tv showing a premiership game. Just cider, lager and Guinness on tap. Feels like a local pub where others are not made welcome.

Chips were excellent, just a shame a large chips £4.20 was served in there smallest box. Dread to think what a small chip portion would look like .

This pub as not changed and in some ways got worse. This was for a birthday day meal for a family member and like last year 2 peace's of broccoli and 2 parsnips teaspoon of sweed mash at least there not trying to cover the plat with a giant Yorkshire pudding normal size this time. The thing what really annoyed myself was after 1 hour and half we were told we had to leave the table as someone else was coming in for two my partner had not finished her desert. And the other thing was after we had to go out side I bought my partner a hot chocolate the staff member said it's pink and the manager said it still tastes like hot chocolate but it didn't it was disgusting and I felt I had wasted £3.50. To top that of my son fell over going up there septs from the play area looked slippery. This place as not changed in my opinion it's a rip off if you want a family meal there you don't want to be rushed and all they want is your money and want you to leave. I don't really want to come back to this place.

We went with my family And friend Liz. The stuff were very friendly and hard-working. They don't take long to serve you. The food is really nice like the puddings.
