Food was lovely and the staff were really friendly. Not from the local area but would happily come back if ever visiting Bristol again.

Terrible experience, and I’m sure not typical, probably just everything went wrong on the night. Me, my wife and 2 children. Ordered and paid on App. An hour passed, no food, asked how long, told ‘soon’ we’re busy etc. Place was at about 50% capacity! After about 70, kids food comes out, by then, both kids had fallen asleep and barely eat a bite as they couldn’t stay awake. Wife's food comes out 10 mins later, which she struggled to eat with two kids trying to sleep on her. My food, XL Mixed Grill with hunter top (extra charge) and Peppercorn Sauce (extra charge) shows up after almost 90 mins. Wife and kids are fried and ready to leave. My food: Small mixed grill, not XL, and none of the extras which amounted to almost £10 Made a low key complaint to shift manager and was told we’d be refunded (Via App, as that’s how we paid) Never got any form of refund. The food was ok tho, just the experience of the night meant the whole evening was a total loss. Would not return on principle. Had they honoured the refund, I could forgive and forget. But unfortunately this was not the case.

A good general standard. Clean and well presented. I had slow cooked beef rib which was good. My only quibble would be the use of frozen chips. I realise it takes longer to prepare and fry a real potato but the meal would have gained another star with fresh Home cooked chips. As it was, its standard pub fare. Not over priced but nothing to push it to the front of the crowd of other eateries in the area. Staff were pleasant and helpful. And the cutlery was clean (not to be taken for granted anywhere, unfortunately) Good for a quick local lunch, but don't expect anything out side of the ordinary.

Worst pub in Bristol. Longest waiting for an order ever. Only 1 person behind the bar on a busy Friday night and saterday. Don't come unless you like a 45 minute wait for a pint. Staff are miserable. Management always sat on their arse not helping. Food is under cooked and raw on a regular basis. After 11 years of drinking there I will not take 1 foot back in that place. BEWARE

Absolutely amazing value. Had lunch with my 2 teenage boys, we ordered the Flamin BBQ meat shearer and the ultimate feast, with jacket and salad sides the food was excellent and we even had takeaway bags for our left overs. Just to make room for the sticky toffee pudding cheese cake. Thankyou guys for an amazing afternoon with good food I will be definitely be recommending this place. Well done.

Good pub however slow service, sometimes 20-25 minutes to get a drink however it was really busy so I get it. Would have liked a snappier service however. Food was fabulous and would still recommend this place to others.

It's still cheaper than KFC and better value.

Have been coming to this pub for years for family events and it has never disappointed. The atmosphere is amazing, staff are lovely and friendly and the food is always very nice. Will continue to come back for any occasion.

The staff were absolutely amazing and helpful, the food was lovely!

Ordered on the app, drinks were brought over immediately. Ordered nachos as a starter, lots of them and lots of sauce etc on them. All day breakfast was lovely and all cooked good, food very hot. Mushroom, cheese and garlic bake, more like a pie with no lid but very tasty and nice and hot, friendly staff

Honestly shocked how rude one of the staff were. A very young girl who we asked a question to, looked at us with a don’t care face and didn’t help us at all. I have teenage daughters and they don’t even act like the rude belligerent girl did. I also work in hospitality and catering so know exactly how you should treat a customer and that wasn’t it. We promptly left thought we would spend our money somewhere that actually acts like they want customers.A smile wouldn’t go a miss either !

Watched the England game here last week and rather impressed by how the staff managed the volume of customers for serving beer and food with such a high demand. I had gammon steak, which was lovely.

Had a mixed grill and chicken and ribs. A lot of meat for the money on both meals good value and very helpful and friendly service from all the staff.

Same as any other pub nothing special.

Have been here very often, always have a pleasant visit. Food very good value for money and staff are always friendly and go to all efforts to find you a table even when they are busy. Only downfall is the availability of the menu (doesn't normally effect me though as tend to stick to the same dish)

This pub has it all! The food was excellent and was very reasonably priced, the service quick and efficient, several big screen TV's, pool table and dart board. This pub also has a large raised seating area outside.

Sunday food was horrible, peas, carrot and beans tasted horrible and looked grim, roast potatoe burned and sad looking, lumpy gravy. And 2 slim peices of processed Turkey.

Thought we would try a Sunday roast for a change as we've enjoyed everything else on the menu no complaints there! We were both very disappointed with the roast beef we bought earlier today the veg under cooked the roast potatoes was burnt all obviously from frozen the stuffing was like cardboard and the gravy you could of sliced it it was that thick... The beef was cooked nice the portion on the plate wasn't very big and not value for money ... the staff are always polite and friendly... We will just stick to the mix grill in future as that's absolutely perfect 🥰

Visited for family birthday, had tables reserved. Good tasty food, good size portions, too much for a dessert. Friendly atmosphere.

I've been here several times since it was taken over by Greene King. It has improved massively. The food is lovely and service is quick. Even had a birthday party here with 30+ guests and they accommodated us well, including bringing out the birthday cake and lighting the candles. Great atmosphere!

I'm hoping today was just an off day. I visited after the lunchtime rush and in the time was here none of the tables in the bar area were cleared. The meat in my mixed grill was cooked just as I ordered, but the food wasn't hot. As I say, I hope it was one-off. It won't stop me visiting again as previous visits have been excellent.

Popped into the Air Balloon whilst staying at the adjacent premier inn for dinner. Took the opportunity to try the 8 oz sirloin steak offer. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meat and accompanying sides. I have paid a lot more for worse cuts of meat in other establishments. Well done to the chef

Came here with some friends from University to watch the football and had a great time. Atmosphere was amazing but the food was what made us come back a second time when it was a bit more quiet and again we really enjoyed ourselves. Staff were super helpful, food was well cooked and piping hot, could tell it was fresh, highly recommend!

One of our party had food allergies and they double checked everything before it was served Staff were helpful and attentive My only negative was the incredibly loud music in the bar and eating area. Even the waitress couldn't hear us It was only 1830 so not late, but it was packed with some roudy noisy people. That and the music didn't make the experience as pleasant as it could have bee Maybe go on a lunchtime or not on a Friday evening!

We booked a table for 4 when we arrived there was one member of staff on the bar and the other staff watching the football completely ignoring the one staff member when they was in clear need for help and ignoring customers. I had the chick and mix and the chicken nuggets came out burnt and over done… to the point you could have thrown them at a window and the window would have smashed. Inedible It ruined the first night of our holiday Won’t be returning

We had a problem doing our food on the app it took our money twice so we told them the app took our money 2 xs and the female manager over not the person that should be working around public as very rude and no costumer standers and as we complained the cow cancelled all our further bookings which we have party's up to 20 to 30 people as some of our memories from family members that has past away and liked the pub loved it there plus chewing gum all under the tables which is very hygiene standards all our further bookings will be with the ledeca on the bath road please void this place as the female manager is a right cow

Pop in for a couple of pints with my girlfriend after going to southmead hospital. The barmaid was polite and helpful and the atmosphere was friendly.

Beer expensive . Tried the Hunters Chicken (wish we hadn’t).The chicken was tasteless despite a splash of Bar-b Q sauce. Cheese tasteless, if it were real cheese ? ,Onions had the life boiled out of them( supposed to be fried ). Bacon and chips ok. Don’t think we will bother again and just stick to our tried and tested local !

Came in for a meeting on Friday and was greeted by friendly staff who found us a table. We ardered food and drinks via the app, and both came out quickly. The food was very good and reasonably priced, too. The slow beef was great, and the mixed grill was great value for money.

Not great to be honest - wouldn't go again. A bit shabby and tatty, everything just seemed tired and not cared for. Food was ok, everything was very average. Not particularly relaxing, more of a drink and footy pub rather than a nice place to enjoy a meal. The dirty used knife under the table when we sat down was not a good start. Lack of care and pride.

Pleasant atmosphere, nice music, welcoming and easy going. Good food, and great service. Al down to good staff in the kitchen and front of house... a credit to the Greene King brand... BZ, GREAT JOB...

Great pub, good for watching sports, can sit inside or outside, there's a pool table. Food isn't top quality but it's reasonable and the staff are friendly. Great local.

Tldr: this is my favourite pub in the area because I like the food and it's good value. The online app is great for ordering food but I would recommend you don't order drinks especially if the bar is busy, since the real people are prioritised over online drinks orders. The last few times we've been the service had been super fast. Outdoor tables are really nice for enjoying the weather when it's good enough, there is a covered area to give you shade. This is a chain pub, not a gastropub, and with that in mind the food is great for the price. There are very good deals on depending on what day you visit, for example, I think it's steak Tuesday where you can get a rump steak and chips for £5. The chicken breasts are very tender, I think they must be cooked in a water bath. I like the mixed grill. The staff are very accommodating of requests to swap out chips for salad. Sometimes you get a nice salsa dressing on the salad but not always, other times you get vinaigrette. The toilet facilities are in need of some TLC: one lock is missing and the lighting is poor. The outside area is great for sitting out when the weather is good but the view is of the roundabout and car park so set expectations accordingly. There is a big projector that often shows sports. Drinks wise they have a decent selection of beer and cider on tap although I don't think they tend to have guest ales in. There are plenty of choices for spirits and soft drinks. My favourite dish is the loaded chicken strips with curry sauce.

Went out the other night with a couple of mates whilst passing through Bristol had a tasty meal good atmosphere friendly staff

Slow service. Bar staffs family throwing chips at our children. Outraged. Laughed off. Felt had to leave after my child was crying.

This place is terrible!! Waited 50 minutes for Chips and had to wait 40 mins for the drink as well when I ordered on the app! When I went to the bar to ask the queue was huge and the staff were just chatting about who is going to go for a cigarette next. Pub food was cold after I waited so long for it so it had clearly been sitting for ages. Just a normal Wednesday evening, shouldn’t be that hard to run a normal service.

Drinks are fairly cheap, food was nice and overvibe is chill and nice. Some band plays on the weekend and they are a big smoking/ outdoors area

Had lunch today with a friend and one of her sons. My friend ordered a beef Sunday lunch. When asked about it she replied...OK. I ordered the gammon sizzler. My thoughts....OK. Chips very poor quality. The child ordered chicken nuggets & chips. He didn't eat the chips. I seem to recall on a previous review I wrote how poor the chips were. The visit was ...OK but lacked the Wow factor.

Great service nothing is to much trouble

Absolutely fantastic we were a bit skeptical as to whether the meals would come out together as there was 15 of us but it was perfect they all came out together and everyone enjoyed them

My office is next door to the Air Balloon. It started as my work local, We use it for staff lunches, Friday afternoon meetings. Always service with a smile. Food is good and never takes too long to come out. Now it’s my go to for watching sport on weekends too with large screen all around and always a great atmosphere.

Came up on Wednesday, I had the steak and ale pie which was very enjoyable, service was quick and the coffee was a great way to finish my meal off

Came up here for some food with my family, The fish was beautiful and even better with tartare sauce! Will be returning

I gave them one star this time and unfortunately my view was not changed by my latest experience. The menus were sticky as was the table. The service was slow and the food was not good. My lime is my coke looked like it had been sliced a few days earlier. The music was strangely set to mid 1990, so I gave them 2 stars for atmosphere because I like mid 90's music.

Changed my review as the last couple of visits the wait time has been appalling. Both very busy evenings which were understaffed. Lovely staff overworked due to bad management.

Was just passing. Millionaires burger was good but sizzling rump steak was like a Dunlop tyre and the egg was rubbery. Slow for food to come out. Will not revisit here. Disappointing.

Visited on 24/01/24 as a party of ten. Once ordered, food came out quickly. Various dishes ordered as you can imagine with ten of us and food was good all around. Decent pub food at good price. Staff were polite and attentive. Visited here lots of times and never had a bad meal but was particularly impressed on this occasion as there were lots of us so expected a wait which did not happen.

Great pub lived local for 9yrs and just found out this gem is dog friendly food was great and the prices even better will defo be returning with the dogs next time
