Redwood Farm in South Gloucestershire

Place needs a good clean, clearly very short staffed. Whilst staff were doing their best, they were unable to cope with demand. Ordered food at 6:15pm told kitchen busy and would be 30minutes. Was not served until 8pm. Hour and three quarter is unacceptable.

I’ve been here multiple times now and I must say every time I go it gets worse.. my visit today being the worst which is disappointing as it was my nephews birthday so expected better! It appears there is a lack of staff which is the biggest issue.. although it’s never particularly busy there is always a lack of staff; 1 person on carvery and 2 (at most) on bar service causing long wait times and queues. On this occasion the food was the most disappointing as the food tasted like it had been out all day. The roast potatoes were so dry and hard that it was hard to even cut through them. The meat seemed dry and undercooked. They ran out of pigs in blankets and brought these to the table after we had finished our meals.. The gravy seemed watery, and the staff seemed overworked, although I must say they did do the best they could do under the circumstances and the servers were so friendly and polite. On this occasion I wish I ordered something different than the carvery as the carvery was just not worth the money and was overall dry, tasteless and not enjoyable. I wouldn’t come back here in a hurry.

I don’t usually write about places but thought I would need to. The time it takes here to get served takes way too long. Once our food had arrived the chips were cold so had to be sent back. Only for a few hot ones to be put on top of already cold ones, so not ideal. The toilets are pretty grim. Urinals full of wee, and the cubicle toilet unable to flush and toilet roll holders broken. Bit of a shame as definitely has potential to be good!

Decent meal in a warm venue. Much needed on these cold days.

We're pretty much locals to redwood as we work close, always looked after well, food is always quick and tastes great. Jordan is an ace server and recognises us whenever we're in and says hello. Top place, fully recommend.

We come here every week, happy with the service, very good food. Brandon Lee and the rest of the staff are lovely and friendly.

Nice place. Had a lovely carvery, good meats that were nicely cooked. Good selection of veg. Would say the cauliflower cheese, needs to be more cheese sauce not just dry cauliflower. Onion gravy was lovely. Had Eton mess for after but no strawberries due to issues with delivery. Bar staff were pleasant, and David S, made us feel feel comfortable staying as long as we did. Will be back.

Visiting from out of town and chose this restaurant as seemed better choice compared to food outlets at Cribbs Causeway. We were not expecting too much but the food and service was great. Kids ate for free and the atmosphere was good. The service was excellent and this persuaded us to return the next night. Shout out to the bar staff Josh, who was very helpful both nights although all staff were helpful and friendly. Would recommend this place, especially for families. Also be warned about the puddings, they're huge! 👍

Had a lovely meal with family, Brandon W is a superstar! Goes above and beyond! We were welcomed by Brandon and nothing was toonmuch for him! The food was lovely and hot and the puddings were delicious!

It was our first visit close to the Cripps corner easy to park ! Friendly staff David S , the restaurant was very clean good carvery friendly chef choice of gammon , beef or Turkey ! Good choice if vegetables and a great Yorkshire pudding! Would definitely return !

Was over charged promised a refund,I’ve rang the police and they told me to go to trading standards if we don’t get the money back by Friday 3rd January! they took my pre order for food and gave it away baring in mind we pre ordered off the celebrating joy menu to watch others eat our choice of food we didn’t get our extras and got charged In total £160 for something that should been £67!!! I rang the restaurant on the 9th December to be told to ring back tomorrow I had this for a week after loads of excuses! Then I had a phone call with someone called Tom grey to be promised a FULL refund with in 10 but it would be quicker then to be lied to and never receive the money I have rang them over 100 times today and in the last 3 weeks to get absolutely no where!! I wanted to speak to Tom grey management but no one seems to be that bothered that they had over charged a disabled customer

Real ales great. Food standard and service OK. Long wait at bar just to get a drink - they have a silly queuing system for both food orders and drinks. Perhaps a bit of education about how to seperate roles and provide a better customer experience would go a long way.

Booked to eat here on Christmas eve. On arrival was escorted to our table. I asked for a highchair and was told "just pick any one you can see" had to clean the highchair i had found. Then realised there was no "Festive menu" that i had pre-booked and paid a deposit for. When I asked a member of staff for some festive menus as there was 4 adults and 1 child at the table. I was given just the 1. After over an hours wait for our main courses. My child's pasta dish came on its own. Without the corn on the cob and the garlic bread which it states in the menu that it comes with. When my partner asked where it was. A member of staff replied "oh you didn't order any sides or extras" the menu didn't state it was extra. It was part of the main course. 1 member of staff behind the bar. Also had to wait a good 15/20 mins for my 3 drinks. Not impressed. And it is a total shame as I do like to come and eat/drink at redwood through the years gone by.

This place deserves no stars at all!! Absolutely shocking, booked a while ago to take my grandchildren for ‘breakfast with Santa’ - no choice of breakfast just cooked food, no cereal/fruit or toast machine for toast. Cooked breakfast and coffee were cold and they’d run out of eggs which was absolutely disgusting!!! After complaining I did get a full refund but that was no consolation to 4 young children who hadn’t eaten since the previous teatime!!! I think if they can’t cater properly for the amount of bookings they take they shouldn’t advertise this sort of event and to top it off Santa got up and left before we did which upset the kids even more!! Save your money next year and go somewhere else as this is by far the worst ‘Breakfast with Santa’ we’ve ever been too!!!

Absolutely awful experience here. Place is extremely run down, food all over floors, toilets in a dreadful state, walls full of marks and seats ripped. Tables left with food and plates for prolonged periods, food over cooked or undercooked. Booked for a Christmas event. Table not ready, taken to a table put together and food all over floor table not wiped and no cutlery Slow service and staff with no customer service whatsoever. This will be my last visit. This place needs a full overhaul.

this is my first time going to redwood farm, my boyfriend took me as treat as he has been before. atmosphere was really nice and peaceful, requested the adult booth which was provided on arrival with no issues. food was really enjoyable all hot, tender meat (we got the carvery). the service was great, really friendly staff, special recognition to David.S who seated us and was very attentive to our needs. all round really positive experience, would recommend and definitely come again !!

I met friends here for coffee and cake. The coffee was lovely but my carrot cake was horrible. In the cabinet, the cakes are beautifully decorated, our cakes had none of the decorations on them. My cake was so dry I was unable to eat it. Very disappointed.

Four of us had a lovely meal here on Saturday night, food was cooked perfectly, staff were friendly, helpful and very efficient. A lovely atmosphere in this gem of a place. Came in for my brother’s birthday lunch and was amazed by the cakes they had to offer! The carvery was really nice too! Toilets were clean and the car park is big. What more could you ask for!? 10/10

Breakfast with santa, booked a table for 10.45 thinking we would have plenty of time to eat see santa etc as I thought they wouldn't have let me book so late otherwise. Got here and spent 10 mins at the till trying to find my deposit and be told we had 5 mins to get food drinks find our own table and see santa. Now the santa was the only enjoyable part he was very welcoming to the children unfortunately that was the only 2 mins we enjoyed. We went to get a coffee and it was empty to be told by staff "we've now finished serving" no apologies. He did go get a coffee from the machine after I had said we've been rushed and it's not fair but unfortunately this doesn't even make up part of what I had paid for this experience. It's been a while since I had visited here and never had an issue with customer service or food but today they all seem to have the "I don't want to be here attitude".

Thankyou David S for a warm welcome and friendly table banter. Tables were immaculate and the whole team were working hard to give us a calm experience. Drinks ordered from the table arrived in under 2 minutes and the food was tasty and great value. Excellent all round!

Such a great experience at Redwood Farm! Stayed in the hotel next door and popped in for breakfast in the morning. Buffet was fresh and hot. Delicious food! Will back again!

The waiters and the chap that clears tables work so hard and really go the extra mile and very friendly nice to have an adult only area managers always say hello when you walk in make you feel welcome food is good and fairly price my only bug bear is if you order drinks on the app they just sit on the bar even if no customers at the bar the young lad with fair fair will just stand there not get anyone to take drinks over I’ve waited upto 10 min for him to bring over but other than that great place

Really lovely meal with my daughter. Visited Redwood this evening to choose a cake to takeaway, I asked one of the head chefs there, George, and he suggested the new gingerbread cake. GUYS, if you like ginger, then this is a pleasant pudding, just enough flavour. The icing is not too much. I would recommend this as a pudding, however you may want to take it home as its a big portion.

Popped in for lunch yesterday and had the carvery. Can’t fault the food, the meat was really nice and generous portions. But the best part of our visit was Carmela our waitress, who was very attentive and checked that we were happy with everything. Will be back again soon.

The restaurant was very usy and understaffed. The food was taking almost an hour to come out. Multiple people asked where the food was. Some staff seemed under trained on tills. Even the puddings were taking an age to be brought out. It was a disappointing visit.

I was looking forward to the carvery and chose beef and Turkey as my meats. The beef was, as experienced by others in my party yesterday 3rd December.

Sorry, not impressed. My first choice of food from the menu was not available, and so I ordered a second choice whilst also ordering food for two companions. When the food for my companions eventually arrived, I was informed that my second choice was also not available, and I was invited to choose an alternative. My chosen alternative was to get a refund for my food whilst my companions ate theirs. Will not be returning.

Every time I come to redwood the service is absolutely Amazing from Brandon W. He never fails to impress us as regular visitors and never seems to disappoint. Brandon has a great relationship with the regulars and is quick to hand when anything is needed or asked of him. Will definitely recommend.

Food came 37 minutes late, was cold and the bacon cheeseburger was missing the bacon and cheese! The gravy was also burnt, if that’s even possible.

Great parking. Plenty of room although the Inn is in need of refurbishment. Our visit today at lunchtime found the restaurant to be very short staffed. Whilst we waited to be seated we were told to just find a place we'd like to sit. This would normally be fine but we had a baby with us so it would have been helpful if they had offered to help and find us a highchair. Food wise, we had the carvery which was plentiful, all well cooked and tasty. The gentleman serving was really kind and polite. ( I didn't get his name but thank you) The highlight for us was also David S. What a lovely, friendly, kind and polite man who cleared our table. He was took the time to speak with us and more importantly he even spoke directly to our little baby. More family restaurants need a David S. So Whilst a few issues and very short staffed this didnt stop these two members of staff being great in hospitality and made it worthwhile.

Staying locally for work. Ate here several times, there’s a daily carvery & bar food type menu. All good honest pub grub at fair prices. Thanks to David s for good table service. Worth a look if you want honestly priced food & drink in a pub setting.

We have been here in the past and the food was lovely. Today we went for a Sunday roast. The gravy was burnt and made our food taste horrible. Spoke to the manager and just got a sorry. No refund or anything. We even over heard him say to the kitchen staff the gravy is burnt again. Sorry, but we will never visit here again. Very disappointed. Waste of £30

We had a reservation for 9 people, and when we arrived we were originally put on two separate tables. Dave S was able to put three tables together so we could all sit together. Brilliant service.

Good honest carvery. We come here a lot. The play area is better than the other one in Bradley Stoke and much cleaner. The staff are super sweet and friendly. Sometimes the meat can be a little overdone if you’re at the beginning of dinner after a slow lunch where they’re trying to ensure it’s all used up. But if you ask nicely they will usually get a fresh cut. Sometimes the app is out of sync with what’s in stock and communication around that can be a little defensive. It would be nice for people working there to get more central training and support around that so they don’t feel threatened when being given objective feedback about a central service. Our waiter this evening was awesome, friendly and attentive. The guy on the carvery was new and really friendly, he wanted to do a good job and that made a huge difference to our experience having a family meal. We’re really grateful to the lovely people working tonight for their service, for turning up when it’s cold and wet outside. I hope that management appreciates and rewards their efforts, good work 🙂

Please can you please put something on your booking system that let's people know that it is carvery only! It's really annoying to drive miles to see this pinned on the door and having to leave.

Delivered in time but both meals were cold. Ordered them at 12.30pm for 3pm delivery. Delivery was prompt and efficient but sadly meals were cold to the touch…makes you wonder if they put them in the trays at 12:30 and just left them there. Was given a token gesture refund but sadly will not be enough to make me order from here again. Will be using Toby Carvery in future

Food was lovely and good value. We were asked by 3 different staff if our food was ok while we were eating which was a bit overkill and the shouting from another table was a bit much.

We’ve had a lovely meal here as part of a large group this evening. The service has been fantastic and the food very good value for money.

Pleasant enough calling in for a impromptu carvery. Food tasted as it should. Turkey especially good, followed by carrot, beans, red cabbage, baby parsnip and stuffing. Roast potatoe not to my taste and colliflower cheese just okay. The counter had some broccoli that looked either dry or yellow. Gravy too strong. Having said that, a clean plate except for two roast. Enjoyed the chilled Carling which made a pleasant change from ale. Worthwhile mid-week visit; not too busy but waited on swiflly and met Gemma who was very busy waiting and cleaning tables. Would visit again under similar circumstances between 5:30pm and 7pm.

Cutlery was clean, table was clean. and if something isn't clean it's very easy to pull a staff member over and ask them to clean what needs cleaning.food was nice and again if something is wrong with your food it's easy to speak to a member of staff to get it sorted. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back again
