The Anchor in Spelthorne

I was visiting my mum for Mother’s Day and had not booked anywhere for lunch. I looked around and saw most places were fully booked due to it being Mother’s Day. This beautiful little pub popped up on my google search. I rang to see if I could make a booking for lunch. The lovely lady on the phone said that she could get us a table and we were welcome to come. We found it easily from Staines, great parking next to pub. We received a very warm welcome and shown to a lovely table. Menu was not extensive but beautifully written and fabulous choices. We had the roast chicken and pork belly. The food was fantastic, best pork belly I have had in a long time - cooked to perfection. Mum enjoyed her roast chicken, with red cabbage (a massive plus as mum is Danish). They did not have our first choice of dessert but swiftly told us and we chose the waffles as a 2nd choice and that came very quickly and as an apology we got double the amount of waffles. I can highly recommend this pub for the food, ambiance and friendliness of the staff.

This place knocks it out of the park, awesome food and atmosphere and fantastic service, will definitely be back!

Came for Sunday Lunch on 3rd December with my husband and 2 friends. As a Veggie I was treated really well by Emma and the other staff who went the extra mile. We each had different meals which were huge and piping hot. My husband Glynn is the Postie there and has told me loads of times how nice is there.

Went for Sunday Lunch today 3rd December with my husband Glynn who is the Postie there who has been telling me how friendly everyone he has met there is really friendly. So we went for Lunch there today with 2 of our friends. As a Veggie Emma and the other staff went the extra mile to accommodate me. Plus the meals were piping hot and all excellent and huge. So a Big Thank you 😊

It's hard to find a place for a good sunday roast!... glad we found this little gem! The roast here was delicious 😋 good size portion & great price! The staff team are very welcoming, friendly & attentive... will definitely be going back!

Don’t usually go to the pub but I’ll definitely be returning to the anchor 10/10 customer service. I was served by Emma she always spoke with a large smile!

Food was decent: beef pie very tasty, chicken pie decent, veggies not too great. Close to airport, so lots of airplanes to watch.

We had Sunday lunch at the anchor the food was fresh delicious perfectly cooked and presented. Emma who served us was friendly and polite and very attentive. This is a great place for Sunday lunch I would definitely recommend it.

So with limited time left we headed off to the anchor for a late afternoon roast. We’ve eaten here before and was not disappointed on our second visit. Very welcoming staff and the food was piping hot and exceptionaly delicious. Well worth the visit and will be again. Thankyou

Had a late Sunday lunch here today, which was amazing. We were last to eat but you wouldn't know it from the quality of the food we were served. The staff are welcoming and friendly and our dog was welcome too. We live locally but if you’re in the Heathrow area and want to visit a welcoming pub with great food and great staff, The Anchor is a must. We visit all the local pubs but this one is a must 😊

We had heard that the Sunday roasts are great so we gave it a go and were not disappointed, they are fantastic! Really good size, delicious gravy and plenty of veg. The belly pork was awesome! The staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble, really welcoming and relaxing. A really enjoyable Sunday had by all and looking forward to my next roast!

Popped in for a drink to kill some time. They had obviously been booked out for an event that hadn't started yet, so was fairly empty. Pretty standard pub/working mens. Nice friendly staff, and more TVs than is humanly needed but good if you like football.

We went for a Sunday lunch. Amazing food, great service great choice off drinks. Made us feel so welcome as it was a lovley sunny day we sat in the garden then they called us in when lunch was ready Emma reserved a table for us. Definitely 10 out off 10.

We had a village litter pick as part of the Big help out for the coronation. Owners Billy and Peter supported the village by providing free pizza, chips and teas and coffee. Pizzas freshly cooked and chips piping hot very impressed by the pepperoni. They do a selection of different pizzas, I have been told they do a cracking Sunday lunch. Nice G&T. Nice garden area. They are dog and child friendly too, they even provide games and dog treats Great guys who run a great pub. They are planning a refurbishment soon, so it will be even better. So if you are stuck on the M25 at junction 14 just follow the sign for Stanwell Moor, pop on down for a drink and a meal. Friendly hosts and bar staff.

We recently visited with 4 other families with young kids. We were kindly given the whole conservatory area. This meant our kids could roam around freely and safely and the adults could still talk. The staff were very accommodating and the food was great. Only downfall is there is no baby changing facility.

I had a great time at this small pub. The atmosphere was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The selection of beers was great and the food was delicious. I had a few drinks and some snacks and they were all reasonably priced. The music was enjoyable and the atmosphere was relaxed. The pub was clean and tidy and the staff were very friendly. I will definitely be back to this pub soon. Highly recommended!

Small "Local" pub, lovely staff - Good Value Roast on the Sunday I visited

Came for the rugby, stayed for the Sunday lunch. Not the best pub in the world but given it's handy location near Terminal 5, LHR it did nicely. Would use again. Friendly staff behind the bar.

Food looked exactly as pictured. Hubby had lamb shank. I had Roast chicken. Big portion of meat. Very tasty. Pudding was yummy. Kid and dog friendly. Would reccomend. Will be back soon.

On our way to Heathrow terminal 5 & we had made excellent time so we had 2 hours to kill. Looking for some lunch. Just took a punt off the M25 into Stanwell Moor village & found the Anchor Inn. Opened at midday with food available from 1pm on a Saturday. Really nice, welcoming pub, clean, friendly staff. Food was freshly prepared. The chilli squid was delicious as were the pizzas. A good find, far better than waiting it out at the airport. We'd return again if in the area.

This pub is my local just a stone throw away. we don't make much of an effort to go there but when we do we always fe welcome, Great atmosphere and good entertainment too. we have just started to do the pub quiz on a Wednesday and loved if. The food here is nice too and would recommend anyone here.

A very friendly, relaxed pub with a wide range of food and drinks. We were visiting Staines during the Euros final and strauggled to find aywhere we could watch the game. We called this pub and they said they will squeese us two in. The landlord came over and spoke to us for about 30 minuets just having a polite conversation about everything. He explained how he and his partner came across the pub and how good a local repuation they have. The locals all walked past us and made conversation. "Havent seen you in here before. Where are you from". They all gave us tips on places to visit and things to see. The pub had an amazing atmosphire. We spent hours eating and drinking here and would have gone back if we had more time. I would reccomened anyone visiting the area to check this smashing local pub out. Thanks for a great night :)

Not the biggest menu (due to covid I reckon) at the moment but the price was great and food was very tasty and beer was good

Wonderful, warm and very friendly. We’ve waited a year to go into here and we weren’t disappointed. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. We had a pizza and a snack pot which was spot on. Bar staff very friendly and welcoming. We had a lovely chat with Billy the owner and was a great insight it was to the moor that we didn’t know. Most certainly will be back. Thank you 😊

Really friendly little place. We were staying at terminal 5 travel lodge and were an extremely hungry family looking for our dinner. These guys got us straight in (despite it being a weds and eat out to help out being in full swing), saved our table when we were running late and couldn't do enough to help us. The staff chatted with us about our plans and our day and provided brilliant advice regarding things to do in the local area. Highly recommend. Been a while since I've been in such a friendly boozer.

Might have been because we went mid week but only 4 in restaurant so no atmostphere. Some of the food was not very hot and the music was too loud. Staff were helpful. Dissapointing. Sorry folks but will not be coming back..

Really enjoyed a few hours here on a Saturday when they opened at midday. Ordered some spicy 8" pizza which was really tasty & wish I'd ordered the 12". Pool table as well as multiple tv screens showing sport. Lots of horses passing by outside while we enjoyed our drinks. See menu in pictures, reasonably priced. Regulars friendly, lovely pub great staff. Bus stop a few mins walk. Lovely walk within a few mins walk if u want to get up an appetite before popping in

A gorgeous little pub with a country feel and space for functions. The staff are very attentive. Serves good food as well as drinks. A lovely little place to while away a few hours on an evening or weekend.

This village pub has recently been taken over by new management. Billy and Peter have really lifted the place. My wife and I popped in and decided to try thehome-made pizzas. They were fantastic. Well cooked and with high-quality, fresh ingredients. The pub itself was warm and welcoming and the service was friendly and efficient. Keep up the good work, we’ll be back.

We were really well looked after when we stopped with our twins on our way to the Cotswolds. Staff were amazing, really welcoming and thoughtful. Lovely freshly made pizza too. Would definitely recommend!

We had a lovely roast beef and lamb today. Tender meats, along with fresh veg and gravy and great value for money.Would definitely recommend if you are in the area. The new landlords are really trying to make a positive difference which has been noticed in just a few weeks. Atmosphere has improved, with good entertainment, so watch this Heathrow gem.

This is an older type pub if you like the out of the way public house then you will like it good drink and food and lots of it nice for a family meal all round a good pub grub I'll be back again

Very welcoming pub with car park quite near junction 14 of the M25

Would like to thank the bar staff/owners of this pub I was last as I ran out of battery on my phone to get to my destination. They not only let me charge my phone but give me and my daughter a glass of coke and whilst I was in the pub charging my phone the atmosphere was great and friendly people so many tha ks to The Anchor

Very run down local pub with poor food served. Planes fly over so low with there wheels still out from take off. Will not be visiting again in the near future.

First time in this pub today and we really enjoyed it. Lovely burgers, little games for the little ones and great staff

Beer was spot on. Shane there's only a roast on Sundays we had to go elsewhere to eat as it was to hot for a roast.

Went along to The Anchor to see KDBand in action. Ellie was the vocalist of the night and they were really good. Carlo was on great form on lead guitar. Hotel California was spot on and Dave's rock and roll numbers were great as usual. Ellie has a beautiful voice and both "At Last" and "Love will keep us alive" really show it offer. All in all a great evening.

We popped in the Anchor while doing an airport run to pick up family arriving from Malta. We got off the M25 and followed the sign "Stanwell Moor village" we hate hanging around airports so this was a cracking find.My first instinct was that it felt a bit basic but it turned out to be very friendly and accomodating. The patron & staff go out of thier way to make you welcome not to mention the friendly locals.We had a return visit to the Anchor five days later doing the airport run again and we all tucked into a lovely Sunday lunch.Indeed I have fixed this pub on my satnav ready for the next airport run and of course making this pub our regular when we're in the area.Keep the good work up chaps. WE'LL BE BACK!!!!!

Absolutely great hospitality and superb ham, (to die for) eggs. chips and beans.

Having just moved into the area we decided to try the local pub to see what it was like. The bar staff were very friendly on our arrival and we were served straight away. We decided to eat and they had an excellent menu to choose from. I went for a t bone steak and the others for the chilli. The steak was huge and cooked to perfection and the chilli’s I’m told, were delicious. Very reasonably priced and I would recommend this pub for its excellent food and friendly environment.

First time here... Friday lunchtime. Great little hidden gem (work in local area for over 16 years and wasn't aware of this place!). Great barman, nice atmosphere, good selection of drinks, good food ( was told it was new menus .... good selection of food so caters for a wide range of tastes ). Definitely will be visiting again.
