A better weathspoons now Dan is managing the pub ... the only spoons in Town

We went on sunday the 26th of November for breakfast.we go regularly on a Sunday unfortunately this wasn't as good as normal.we had a full English breakfast which came out cold.The third member of our party ordered separately within a couple of minutes of our order,our breakfast came out and after 15mins there was still no sign of his breakfast. When he approached the bar to asked where his breakfast was, he was told not to be so aggressive. They had missed his breakfast altogether. It then came out after we had finished our cold breakfast.

Sat in the garden in amber rooms amd there was two of the staff members sat and staring at me and my boyfriend whispering to eachother and laughing. On top of this we were then refused entry through the back gate even though it was open and customers were walking in and out of it the whole time we were there. Staff are rude and have an awful attitude and when i complined about the staff it was basically brushed off and wasnt took seriously at all. Also the draft beer tasted awful, and the spirits were not poured properly either.

What has happened to your coffee??? Used to love your coffee now tastes awful. Staff great

Absolutely awful, we were on a social and our friend has been refused entry, with the bouncer claiming he had "had to much to drink", yet the rest of us were let in, and we had drunk more than him. I asked to speak to the manager but the shift leader said exactly the same thing. We're absolutely appalled by this treatment.

Food and service are okay as long as turnout isn't big else staff cannot cope, seems like short staffed. On weekends it's full of students, so service is poor, s9 not worth ordering food..

Went in for a working breakfast. Decent food, served quickly despite it being busy. Found a table without an issue. Good WiFi, staff were ok with me camping out there for a bit. Parking in the neighbouring shopping centre was available and fairly inexpensive.

Serve is a bit slow, but it's only depends on how many staff are on. Otherwise OK 👍

It's a Wetherspoons with extra seating upstairs for those who can negotiate the stairs. The breakfast was its usual self and the coffee machine was slow and there was a line of course. But you get what you pay for.

Professional and knowledgable staff. Paid parking nearby. Lovely food and reasonably price.

TV not working for three weeks. Coffee machine broken this Saturday morning upstairs. So a trek and a queue downstairs, coupled with staff shortages. Getting worse. What a shame.

My fiancé ordered a steak medium well and came to our table not even cooked.

I'm pretty sure they're secretly time travelers, because these prices are straight out of the '90s. It's like they've made a deal with the food gods to keep our wallets happy while our bellies dance with satisfaction. Now, let's talk ambiance. Picture this: you walk in, and it's like you've entered the lair of cleanliness itself And the staff? Oh boy, they're like the Avengers of food hospitality, ready to save your day with a smile and a plate of nachos. In conclusion, if you're looking for a place where you can eat like a king, pay like a pauper, and laugh like a hyena at your friend's terrible jokes, then The Amber Rooms is your destination. Five stars? Nah, give them the whole damn constellation!

I use it quite often, Although just recently I think some ( Not all ) of the staff need to go to a school for manners, It takes nothing to say thank you , Rather than slamming a drink on the table and leaving empty ones there…

It's alright. The moon and bell was head and shoulders above the place though. Edit. Rude security and poor selection of beer. Won't be in a rush back

Bar staff very rude when asked for salt was threatened with removal for asking a 2nd time for table salt

Amazing place to eat at,but very busy.

It's a chavs + smack heads paradise but upstairs offers some relief. Not Spoons fault . I just ordered their cheapest 3oz burger, solo. No chips, no salad but added a fried egg. It was perfect. Came on a hot plate, runny yolk, gherkins etc - for £3.60!! Loved it. Stay upstairs away from the low life. Update, some time later - 3 staff behind bar. 1 cleaning lines. 1 served a guy a foot from ne then walked off into the pub. No eye contact. Nothing. He began cleaning tables. Has a huge ring in his ear like he's engaged to something. So I sat down and ordered on the app. Made the curt, friendless, cold individual bring the drink to me. Satisfying so I leave the stars as is.

We were disappointed with the quality of both our meals. Usually pretty good but both the sirloin steak was tough and ropey and the mixed grill was overcooked and dry. Stick to burger or chicken from now on.

Same old wetherspoons cheap and cheerful. Very dark inside as always.

Don’t bother cold food with a que of people at my shoulder waiting to play the quiz! Even the staff realised how dreadful it was and offered me a half ! Would have preferred a refund, don’t bother coming

It's a lively Spoons in a Uni town

My partner and I went in around 11am, and I've never seen so many middle aged people drunk. It was really quite disturbing.

A Spoons. Cheap beer. Clean and efficient service. You know what you are getting from a North to South. Food is so-so. There is no love in it. But it works. I will always visit Spoons up and down the country.

Overall, we had a reasonable experience. Food just needs to be hot, chips was luke warm, but other food hot, probably pre cooked chips in advance.

Small portions for the price, the chips were barely cooked, the food had no flavour at all. Its a shame because the staff were very kind. £26 and I'm having to take my child elsewhere for something to eat

Arrived at 8 o'clock Friday, very busy night. Ordered food and drinks at the bar, no queueing (get your table number before ordering food). Choice of cask ale, unlike so many large pubs going over to cider (Happy days if you like cider). Food came in good time, chicken jalfrezi curry, rice, soft naan crispy poppadums plus chicken with a dip and chips.. chips could have been warmer but that was the only snag. The same eating experience could be had by visiting the ready meal section of a supermarket, heating it up at home with your own choice of music/TV. You still have to wash up. It's less fun, and cask ale tastes far better than cans or bottles. Drinks ordered on the app came super quick! Overall, it was a happy night for us. Amber Rooms is a big place, and we were lucky to get a seat. Very popular with students. Curry plus a pint on a Friday £11.37 and many scrumy snack choices for under £6 why wouldn't it be. Next time we're feeling like being sociable, eating out but not spending a king's ransom..

Don’t recommend. My partner worked in weatherspoons for 2 years as team leader, he learnt the policies, one of them policies been respectful. My partner didn’t have his ID so instantly got looked down on, embarrassed in front of everyone, this could have been spoken privately, although we was made to finish our drinks at the bar in front of everyone in the pub, and then the manager proceeded to come to our table and stand over us, putting on a show for everyone around. Overall if you don’t take your ID to this bar you’re going to be humiliated in front of the whole pub. Each staff member will go out of their way to put on a show and embarrass you. One certain angry, rude staff member then proceeded to refuse a re-fund. Don’t recommend, very unprofessional, poor customer service.

Totally disgusted with the behaviour of the one of the bar staff and manager, I was sat with 4 friends and a young bar lass broke a glass and was clearly not happy about it and having to clean it up, she then got the stem of the glass and chucked it with force towards the bin next to the coffee machine (on the public side of the bar)and it shattered as it hit the machine or wall! I said out loud "you stupid woman that could have hit someone and hurt them with the broken glass" we were all sat next to it and the manager was also there, and told me not to talk to his staff like that and for us to get out. He needs some serious management training and customer care training. With this young lady not being happy and you could clearly see this! He should have asked her to go and take 5 mins, it would have been a different story if the shards of glass had hit someone, not acceptable behaviour at all.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour I’ve never experienced anything like it. I was sat with 4 friends and the barmaid was slamming the wine glasses one broke and she threw the stem accross to the bin , smashing over the coffee area! My friend said silly girl someone could of got hurt . The manager told us to leave as we can’t talk to his staff like that ! We was minding our own business having a catch up. I tried to speak to he manager he was rude and basically said get out. I have never experienced such rude staff !

The burger was bad and I've been to better weather spoons had the same meal and this was just the worst I'd rather starve.

Ate here couple of times recently with my grandson. He had a pizza both times. Chains like this clearly get their food delivered as fully prepared as they can because the final prep to plate depends on largely cooks that are hired for the lowest wage they can get away with. Both my meals required just a little cooking skills but my steak was terrible; even after I sent it back 😂

Food was good as usual but no staff upstairs, after a 5 minute wait with others we had to go downstairs to be served.

We visited The Amber Rooms in December 2023. It’s the only remaining Wetherspoon in Loughborough (technically it’s a Lloyd’s No. 1 Bar!) and it’s a reasonably modern looking pub, clad in metal on the outside. Inside it’s large and spread across two floors, the upstairs wraparound mezzanine having its own bar. Being in a student town it’s a popular venue, though there is a cosier and quieter corner to the rear of the pub on the ground floor. To the rear is a wonderfully pleasant little beer garden, sheltered on all sides and covered somewhat to make it a cosy seating area. The toilets are upstairs and continue the pub’s modern, metal theme, although we found the women’s to be much worse than the men’s. Very good atmosphere with plenty of people.

1115am Wednesday 7th February. Went in to the Amber Rooms Loughborough (a Wetherspoons Pub!) with my partner to find they had no draught beers available. I was speechless, and walked straight out again. Tim, how can this be????

Lack of real ale choice in the amber rooms only four hand pumps on. Yet the moon and bell that has been closed used to have at least eight beers on. What is going on come on witherspoons put more choice on in the amber rooms.

Just another weatherspoons. Cheap food and drinks. The food is mostly microwaved but edible. It is kept quite clean and the staff are efficient and freindly.

Nice weatherspoons with seating upstairs and down, gets very busy on a Saturday afternoon.

Went for a sandwich and coffe whilst waiting for car to be mot at kwik fit very nice quick service very pleasant

Food served almost cold. About the same as the service. Staff seemed more interested in how late someone was going to be. Possibly a lad whose trousers had fell out with his shoes. Cutlery was dirty, wasn’t quickly replaced. Ate our food took my son to the toilet came back to no drinks. Fastest table clearing in any spoons. Asked at bar where our drinks were, they gave them back no apology not great thinking how glass collectors hold the rim of the glass. Not a great experience prefer my food hot

Went for breakfast , table was sticky dirty, food can cold and eggs ruined. Food came quite quickly but quality shocking.

the food was absolutely lovely no issue on that part, just wish certain staff members weren't so hot headed! the way they spoke to me was really rude when it could have been handled differently. was made to feel quite embarrassed.

Large branch of the familiar Wetherspoons chain, which had no trouble providing food for my group of 14 at short notice. Decent range of drinks at reasonable prices.

They will give you food poisoning which I had confirmed by a Dr as I'm pregnant and was worried, they then think they know more than a Dr and refuse to acknowledge it

We had arrived in Loughborough Town to see friends & visit their shop, which is called "FORAGE" (fruit n veg from almost every country) Anyway, fancied something to eat & it was suggested we try here, busy, relaxing, bustling & we still found a nice table for two. Ordered through the app, food arrived with our drinks as we requested. We enjoyed the whole experience while we were there & left very happy & relaxed ourselves to carry on with the evening before going home. Basically, you want cheap n cheerful "Wetherspoons" always...!!

I can't rate them as the racist security man refused to let us in. He said itvwas because we had previously been in ( we gad 2 drinks prior to a party we collected our daughter from,) then he accused us of drink driving which was crazy as we got an uber there ( can prove) and the same home with multiple car remaining on my drive at home x

No difference between an adult burger meal and a kids meal. The burger meal was actually cheaper as well so that should have been a clue. The chips were nice though I suppose. It was a Saturday so it was extremely busy and loud. We ordered via the app to the table which was easy. The staff were nice.

Breakfast was served cold and was replaced but the manager said at his discretion. Blamed me saying I was at the coffee machine for 5 minutes. I was suspicious as it arrived very quickly just after my coffee cup so had probably been hanging around for a while. I asked another member of staff for the managers name but they wouldn’t give it out. Also further delays as has to find a member of staff as they had forgot the butter. Dreadful place!

Food was good and served quickly. Very dark in daytime. My second visit was marred by the fish being greasy and overcooked. Also I asked one member of staff to point out the ladies she omitted to tell me it was locked but another staff member immediately saw me and helped. I will repeat my earlier comment that it seems dark in the day time - I understand this is also a night time venue when the subdued lighting is probably more suitable. I visited a weatherspoons in Tewkesbury and it was absolutely fabulous- unfortunately standards are obviously not always same!!

Bar staff excellent service .Drinks served very professionally. Glasses spotless. Didn't eat.

Curry night tonight great meal such good value comes with a drink . Didn't have to wait for drinks and meal was delivered quick too .

We used to love coming here with our kids and going upstairs out the way from the main bar as it was quieter but now no one under the of age 12 are aloud upstairs which is really silly

We have used The Amber Rooms for some time and as with all Wetherspoons you know what you are getting, great value drinks and food. We’ve noticed a huge improvement in the Amber Rooms already since Dan (ex Moon and Bell in the town) and his team have taken over. Particularly want to mention Alice who always seems to be working on our visits, giving first class service to customers with a smile, whether serving drinks or food to your table. The place seems cleaner with more efficiency from the staff in clearing tables etc. and the food is served hot and in a timely manner. All in all no complaints or criticism from us.

Food was typical Wetherspoons so that’s ok, but staff were so incredibly rude and actually swore at us - asked if we had input table 15 instead of 14. We hadn’t we were table 50. When we explained we were 50 not 15 he told us “he knew that. He wasn’t a f****ing idiot”. I beg to differ.

Staff were lovely, assisted when I needed a little help with the disabled toilet. Food was smashing, as was the pitchers. Only big issue I had was the state of the disabled toilet. It was filthy and the toilet dispenser was pulled off of the wall.

Give this place a miss,DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. had to clean my table ot was a mrss from the previous customers. Waited 40 mins in total for a burger and chips. The first burger was burnt to a cinder, who are they employing that send out garbage like that , it beggers belief. Some staff are so nice others they are walking about thier faces tripping them. Be warned its awful in there.

Lucky to get a table before it filled up. Two three ounce burgers and chips filled me just fine.

Been used to going in another Wetherspoons near where I live. The staff there where first rate. It recently closed so I'm having to get used to this one. Everything was great apart from the staff who just didn't seem to be on the ball. I'm hoping that over the coming months though, this will improve.

Friendly staff, great fast service. Food was the best I've eaten at a Weatherspoons for a long time. Onion Rings were better than at places I've paid 2 or 3x more for.

Ordered large fish and chips. Got very small fish, peas frozen to very cold plate, chip's barely warm. Ask for person in charge, still waiting after 35 minutes. Give this place a miss, no interest in customers at all.
