Now called ACORN WESTERLEIGH. Namek and Richard have done a great job with completely changing this establishment. Now an Italian restaurant open from 0830 - 230pm and 5-10pm in the evenings with a great menu! A must try for everyone!

Had a lovely breakfast, the two guys that run the acorn now for a couple of months are really nice and friendly. Latte was very nice and hot. Had eggs on toast and was very nice. I think they will do very well so give the acorn a go for breakfast, dinner or evening meal you won’t be disappointed

The meat was like a packet meat not a freshly carved joint. The suede had been burned or the steam pan burned dry as it had a strong burned taste and there was a tang about the whole meal. The desserts were very nice though.

We have been going to the Acorn Cafe for many many years but things are really not good at the moment. There are signs everywhere saying about the lack of staff and the ones that were there were all working hard but the wait time was unacceptable for a simple 2 omelette meal. We returned the bread as it was very stale. We will not be returning, sorry.

Popped in here for the first time and thought the food and service was amazing I'm a vegan and my partner is vegetarian, we had a few changes to make and they happily swapped out certain items to help us make the most of our meal. Great breakfast, very nice atmosphere and we willcertainly be back

I visited with my mum, grandma and 3 year old daughter. It was a weekday early lunch and they weren’t particularly busy. First minor issue is how vague they were on what was and wasn’t gluten free, but we got there eventually and we ordered two jacket potato’s, a child sandwich and some homemade chips. The jacket potatoes and sandwich came out and the chips finally came out 20 minutes after once we’d finished everything else. Unfortunately the chips were not worth the wait and were very soggy and bland. Once we had finished we waited for someone to come and clear our plates and ask if we’d like anything else but that never happened. Eventually we got up to order our cakes but after waiting another 30 minutes we informed the staff we didn’t want them anymore and were leaving. It really shouldn’t take 30+ minutes to put two slices of cake onto a plate and take it over to a table!! It was all painfully slow and the place itself stunk of drains. Won’t bother returning!

Visited with friends for breakfast but everything was just excruciatingly slow. We waited thirty minutes for drinks. The food arrived without requested changes. We asked twice for salt and pepper which didn’t arrive. When it did the salt was empty. A second round of drinks were ordered and again after thirty minutes we had to go and ask. The food itself was good but no better than elsewhere with better service. When paying , the card machine we broken so we had to go through the rigmarole of a bank transfer.

Just came out for a birthday Sunday lunch and a family get together, staff really welcoming and friendly nothing was to much trouble the service was amazing will definitely return again in the. Future would give it a five star

The breakfast was cooked lovely really nice. A bit baffled to why our hot drinks were served in takeaway cups whilst dining inside considering the tea pots and cups on the shelf behind the counter? Good service from Izzy.

Good food. Friendly and helpful staff. Service was slow. However, we were aware that they are several staff members short, so did not mind waiting. They actually cooked my son breakfast, althought it was 12.05 by the time we ordered...and also accommodated my desire for cheese on toast, having ageed to my suggestion of melting the cheese on the toast for a short time in the microwave (they do not have grill type thing to do it he 'normal' way). Considering they have staff shortages at the moment, I was extra appreciative of this. I would definitely go there gin, should the occasion arise.

On arriving we were asked to sit at a table. 5 minutes later another party were told to take a seat and the menu was on the wall round the corner. We were not told this! Ordered a coke, received coke zero. Then told only had Pepsi otherwise, turns out didnt have Pepsi! Ordered a latte, no spoon and had to request milk for tea. When food came out we had to request cuttlery? Ordered cheese and bacon panini. Noticed receipt said chicken and bacon. Got up to mention i did not order chicken as do not eat chicken before it was cooked/served. Told that was only the receipt and my order to the kitchen was correct. When received loaded with chicken! Complained as concerned about allergies. Finally received a cheese and ham ( not bacon) panini obviously rushed as cheese wasn't even melted. By this point decided to just eat, pay and go. We will not be returning.

We had planned to go to the bus at the garden centre next door but it wasn't serving anymore so we decided to try the Acorn Cafe. We were warmly greeted but then it was very slow to have our order taken, thankfully it was a sunny day so we didn't mind waiting in the warm sun. The waiter was very friendly but was taking a long time to serve anyone. One couple arrived and were ignored, then sat without being served for 5 minutes before leaving. Another lady was told she would be served around 5 times and was getting visibly impatient before finally having her order taken about 10 minutes later. I ordered a decaf coffee which didn't really taste like coffee, most likely just made from a machine, pretty disappointing. All drinks arrived in takeaway cups, drinking orange juice from a takeaway cup doesn't taste very nice. We ordered scones, which were warmed up which was nice, but they were full of glace cherries which neither of us like, we were not told about this beforehand, in fact the waiter didn't even know if there were any scones. Unfortunately I don't think we'll be going back.

Visited the Acorn on a number of occasions for coffee/cake and also Sunday lunch. The food has been good on every visit, but the service is slow and comical. Whilst sat outside today we watched 5 couples walk out after waiting a long time for...

Went with my partner for a late 3pm lunch on Saturday the food was lovely and the staff were very very friendly. Been to this caffe loads over the years and it never disappoints it’s a fantastic little gem

Had a lovely breakfast here yesterday. Due to working I specifically asked for a certain place to sit and was all set up ready when we arrived. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was hot and very tasty . Will be coming back thankyou!

Lovely day , Sat outside in the Sun . Excellent Breakfast, cooked to perfection, excellent service, lovely girls running this cafe . All things COVID are covered, cleaning tables regularly, gel available on entry. Couldn’t fault the cafe, my favourite in the area.

No matter a lockdown, The Acorn still provides that fresh home cooked meal they always do! Had another vegan roast this Sunday as I do every week and I’m never left unsatisfied! Hats off to everyone here that’s keeping the ball rolling! Also Friday and Saturday takeaways are a must from here!! Can’t beat their Curry and Chips

The food here is excellent. Sunday lunch has a choice of Lamb, Pork, Turkey or Beef. It is an excellent home cooked meal with large portions. The staff are really nice, friendly and helpful. The place gets packed and the tables are very close together also the tables near the door get a nasty draft whenever the door is opened. However, we go most weekends for our Sunday lunch. They also do take away lunches if you phone your order in before going to collect which was a huge bonus when I was ill.

I pre- booked an early Mother’s Day afternoon tea treat for Saturday afternoon. Unfortunately due to the PM shutting all restaurants etc we had to have this as a take away instead of having it at the The acorn cafe/restaurant at westerleighAll I can say it that it was absolutely amazing, thank you, the staff went above and beyond what they needed to do to make sure everything went smoothly. My mum, dad, boyfriend and myself really enjoyed all the food (think we had more that what we normally would have had but I’m not complaining ) Excellent valve for money and we cannot wait to come back once lockdown is over to come back for more food xx

We visited the cafe just three of us . Not busy only three other tables occupied . We sat for a bit and seemed to be invisible . We tried to order at the counter but were told it was table service and someone would be over . More people came in and were served right by us . We tried to attract the girls attention but her phone was of more interest even when standing right at the counter . After 30 mins we left and nobody noticed . Very bad service .................

Clean and tidy and really nice to have tables service with staff that actually have personalities! Food was cooked fresh so didn't mind a little wait and great quality food apart from the sausages that did quite match the quality of everything else. Also lots of slimming friendly options! Will be going again 100%

Regularly visit the Acorn Cafe for Sunday Lunch, Cooked Breakfast or midweek lunches, good choice, good food, good prices, highly recommended, give it a try for yourself, can be very busy at times but that's a good sign!

Has indoor and outdoor seatings. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Restaurant is clean and spacious. Menu has many choices and prices were reasonable. Potions were good and food were fresh and tasted good. There were cafes in garden centres nearby, I found that this cafe had better choices and healthier food. Will definitely go there again.

called in for breakfast...first time we came lovely breakfast....the last two occasions way below standard....my bacon was so hard and cold could not eat...egg was dry and overdone...sausages tasted like sawdust.far too many beans which were also cold..0nly good thing was the tomatoes..and that is all l ate..the cafe was not even full so could not see the reason why so bad....l cook for a rugby club...and l would never serve such a bad breakfast...l never keep bacon in a warm place to keep warm always will go hard....perhaps a new chef

As always a great experience. Food is always of a very high standard. We only dealt with Clare who is a credit to you at acorn. Very professional. Staff are your backbone and Clare is an asset to you at acorn. Well done .

A busy weekend, well too busy to cook anyway, and Sunday Lunch needed: so where to go? In this area there is plenty of choice for a Sunday Roast, but most pubs serve-up a carb-fest: where the accent is definitely on quantity rather than quality.

I have visited this wonderful restaurant cafè for nearly ten years, and visit almost weekly. The food is always cooked to perfection; hot, tasty, well presented and you get more than a generous serving. You won’t leave her feeling hungry.

Booked an afternoon tea with my grandparents and the food was amazing! Lovely selection of different sandwiches, scones, cakes and tea. Blows the rest of the other afternoon teas out the park. Good price too! (12.95 per person) lovely staff xx

Nine of us (10 if you count baby ❤) arrived unannounced for breakfast. The staff were extremely efficient, very friendly and more than accommodating; despite being run off their feet. The breakfast was as good as it gets. Good quality produce, cooked to perfection and all nice and hot. The coffee was nice too. All of us were so impressed and there were no complaints from anyone. They even do a healthy breakfast (still very tasty) for those of us who are watching our waistlines. I think this is our new venue for our breakfast club. Next time though we will ring ahead so they can be ready for us .

What a lovely place, the food is very good, Tracey’s chicken curry is AMAZING. Friendly staff who are always checking if you need anything and that everything is ok. Will be visiting here a lot more often now that we have discovered this little gem.

We visited the café 17/2/2019 2.00pm for Sunday lunch , the food as always was very good , but we were sat waiting for 15 mins after being ignored by the sfaff we went to the counter to ask if any one was going to serve us, which they did at last.

Love meeting up with my friends here on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Nothing is too much effort, if you want to change the set breakfast and have other items instead (its no problem). Staff are friendly and breakfast is great value...

Brunch this morning. Had to stop waitress to get service, as she was going to another table - who left in the end. 45 mins for our tea to arrive and another ten mins for the food. Other tables were the same. No granary bread as ran out 1145 on a Saturday! Food was ok, but not great. Pointed to healthy option on menu and got traditional. Used to be regular here but won’t be back

Food is spot on here! I would highly recommend for any time of the day. The wait for food is never long and there is always lots of smiles with service :)

Pre booked a vegan Christmas lunch for a group of friends. Staff were happy to offer a choice of starter, substantial main course and a choice of hearty puddings (bread and "butter" pudding or apple crumble, both with custard and the crumble was gluten free as well.

We decided to book Acorn last week for my grandads 80th Birthday. Received a great service from all staff. Arrived to a decorated table and a cake after which all staff joined in with singing, Prompt service considering there was 15 of us.

Costing £12.95 a head . Horrible plain white bread sandwiches of fatty ham , grated cheese and clearly out of a pot tuna mayo . Not one bit of greenery on the plate !

The Acorn is hidden out of sight. It really is lovel though. The carvey is excellant on Sunday. The breakfasts and brunch are excellant also. There are no problems whatsoever with the food. It is lovelly. Puddings too. However....on a Sunday in particular, they do try to cram more people in than they can sit comfortably and serve in a timely manner. We have been as a couple and in a group on a Sunday. And we have always had to wait at east fifteen minutes for a drink and getting on for half an hour for our food. We used to say "the food is worth waiting for". But enough is enough. It isnt a pleasant eating experience. They have ALWAYS got staff off sick or on holiday. And the older staff that work there spend too much time chatting to friends/customers when there are people waiting to be served. Put simply, they try and take too many orders for what they can handle. And where you pay is right next to where they are bringing drinks and food out. It really can be chaos on a Sunday lunch. If you can take that you will love the carvery and choice of 3-4 meats. The food is exceptional.

I came across this cafe a couple of months ago, it's attached to one of 3 garden centres on Westerleigh Road. If you blinked you would miss it as it's quite hidden from the road.

We visited this cafe a couple of weeks ago. It looked quite busy but we were very quickly shown to a table for two and within quarter of an hour we were tucking into a roast dinner that we could only describe as excellent. It was piping hot vegetables and meat cooked to perfection. We enjoyed it so much that we booked for the following Sunday (Easter Sunday) and took our Granddaughter along with us the meal was equally as good as the week before. We will be visiting regularly on a Sunday in future.

We had heard good things previously about this place and thought we would give it a try.

Came here for lunch on Saturday. Cafe was only half full but service was very slow. Waited 20 mins for our drinks to be brought to us and 45 mins for our food. I had the chilli which was poor. Hardly any meat but massive chunks of onion and tinned tomatoes. All of our food came out at separate times which was not great. I had to ask twice for the bread that was meant to come with my chilli and my husband toast was brought out about 5 mins before his brunch ! All in all a bad experience and would not return. Very disappointed. Nobody even came to ask of our food was ok.

We called in for breakfast today and, overall, I must say it was a very enjoyable experience.

I have visited the café many times over the year and I can say it is one of the best in the South West, friendly relaxed staff who go above and beyond to make you welcome.

I run a ladies group in Bristol and around 20 of us visited the Acorn Café. We were greeted so warmly and nothing was too much trouble. The staff and owner were so friendly and put the tables together for us. The food was delicious and we all had a wonderful time. I told Jackie the owner I was raising funds to end loneliness in the Community and she donated the most amazing raffle prize and baked an enormous cake for our sale. I was overwhelmed and very happy! This is Community spirit at it's best. Giving something back to the Community they serve. Thank you for making a difference. x

Been going to the Acorn Cafe for the last few years and never been disappointed. Food is great, fresh and good sized portions. Nothing has been to much trouble for the lovely staff no matter the size of the group, from 2 people to 20 they are always helpful

This is a local venue to me and over the years I've eaten there on many occasions. The food offered is home cooked, tasty and very good value and I've never had a bad experience in so far as the food itself is concerned. However, on my most recent visit with 7 members of my family, we were left feeling a bit disappointed, mainly due to the way in which we were squashed in at our table!

Waited over 1h30 for our food to arrive only to be told one of our meals was not available!! Once food arrived it was dry and horrible. Been a customer for many years but this place has gone down hill , would not recommend!!

Always great homemade food reasonably priced with friendly helpful staff. You can sit inside or if the weather is fine outside as well.

Esta es una hermosa cafetería. La comida es buena, el personal es amable y eficiente. Aseos bonito y limpio. Sin embargo, si estás en una silla de ruedas el acceso no es bueno. Las mesas están muy cerca una de la otra. Así que, en general, un buen lugar para un almuerzo o un café, pero no si estás en una silla de ruedas.

Hoy visitamos el restaurante para una comida de cumpleaños que habían reservado con antelación a la llegada nos recibió y nos dijo que no había constancia de la reserva, en la que se investigue este y nos llevaron a una mesa, nos encajonados en una esquina con un sucio tablet pegajoso y se desmenuza en la ventana cill por todas partes, los menús de la comida de ellos y el pegado todo el lugar parecía sucia. Pedimos nuestras cenas caseras asado y en el mejor de los describiría este meter en comidas preparadas o comida de hospital. Tuvimos que pedir que tienen el cuchillo y tenedor para ser cambiado como había restos de comida en la nuestra. No es la comida que esperaba muy pobre y sin duda no caseras! ! Evitar a toda costa, muy decepcionado. Yo no le daría estrellas si pudiera.

We have visited the restaurant on many occasions after visiting Westerleigh Crematorium to plant flowers in honour of our Mum. Usually we only stop in for some tea and cakes, but as a treat for my niece's 30th birthday, we decided to stop there for Sunday lunch.The staff easily catered for 7 adults and 2 young children easily. We plumped for various meals, from roast chicken and lamb with a large selection of veggies and other trimmings and salmon as well, followed by a selection of desserts and cakes. Great meal and great service at a fair price.

The food was really lovely .The staff were really friendly helpful and always had a smile and i watched them go that little bit futher for some ederly people who seemed to be struggling abit which i thougt was very kind .

I always loved going here - great food, friendly service. However on my last visit I had to wait 40 minutes for an omelette and there were only 8 tables partly occupied so not busy at all. The omelette was much smaller than they used to be and it was much drier. The salad was about half the size compared to all my previous visits. The waitress didn't know if the eggs were free range or not. No apology for a 40 minute wait for just an omelette. Maybe there was someone different cooking on the day I went in. I will go back as all other visits the food and service has been very good.

I started coming here for a lunch date with family a few months ago after our favourite haunt closed. We have been here every week since and have been very pleased. The food is clearly freshly prepared and is always piping hot. We are a fussy bunch of eaters and no request is too much. The portions are large and really well priced compared to other similar cafes we've been to (and about half the price of where we were previously going!)There can be a wait for food when the cafe is full but it's always worth the wait and there's always easy listening music in the background that I find my foot tapping along to. I can only presume when it's very busy- that others think of it as highly as we do. The faces are becoming familiar so they clearly have lots of returning customers. The waitresses are always smiling and happily interact with our small babies. When they are very busy- they are still smiling and never begrudge being stopped by us with any requests. Hopefully we'll be returning here weekly for a long time to come.

Visted the Acorn Cafe on my birthday with my family. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the surroundings are warm and comfortable.The menu offers a great choice and the service was quick and efficient.When the food arrived all six of us were delighted.
