The 3 Monkeys in Preston

Ordered the shakshuka (Middle Eastern style eggs poached in tomato salsa) the only tomato in there was my ketchup!! When I enquired the staff didn’t understand what I was asking… the woman just shrugged and pulled her face at me! Terrible customer service 😕

We’ve been going for years and years as the food and taste is top notch. However this time we’ve been very disappointed, we bought 4 Mexican and nuggets. The taste is very much still there but the amount of chicken was very disappointing on all 4. It’s been cut up into small pieces and very little of it. I hope this is a one off and they haven’t followed the trends and are cutting down the potion sizes. There was plenty of rice but not enough chicken!!

If you haven't tried here... You need to try here!! Food is absolutely delicious. I got half rice half chips with jerk chicken, chicken tikka + special sauce. Choose your own salad. You get plenty + food is so tasty everytime! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE if you want something good to eat.

“Chicken Rice Box, special sauce”

A very unique and interesting takeaway. Fabulous value for money, quick service and great menu. Good sized portions and very very tasty. Would recommend the Portuguese chicken, spicy rice some of their wonderful choice of salads and their excellent special house sauce.

Simple food done exceptionally well.

Just got salad with salt pepper chips,presentation, service and food so good,the salad was chopped fine,this was a great upgrade to the usual kebab houses with a dash of subway,only criticism they need there logo on thier packages so people know we're this great food is from

Went in at 16:30, was told they only had chicken and rice, disappointed as wanted to try their food.

I Visited three monkeys the other evening and selected Portuguese chicken and rice. It was cooked in front of me in no time at all. I then choose from the fresh salad selection to complete my meal for a reasonable price. The food was very tasty and filling. The cleanliness of the takeaway was very good also.

Went the other night at about 9:30pm. Big neon sign said "OPEN" went in and they the guy said they were closed. Gutted.

This Sandwich Bar deserves 5 star rating , everything what they do is incredible, fantastic service and very delicious food as well very clean. Keep going:)

I've eaten here for many years. Food is always great, really well priced and very friendly staff.

Hygiene practices lacking. Guy at the front was handling cash and his phone (which he probably uses on the toilet) and then handling food without washing. Food was nice.

Any time I'm going anywhere near Preston I go here to grab a rice box. They're honestly amazing!

Food is great, I love thier hallumi half and half box. It isn't too expensive either. It is a little crowded but the service is good. If you don't want to deal with a crowded space you might want to avoid peak times.

Its a little hectic if you've never been here before, but that's down to the great food at good prices that bring customers like me back every week. Simple step by step menu with various great options including meat free.

Always bizy in there try it out.

Foods good - especially sandwiches Opening time on google maps is wrong Lady told me they’d open in 10 minutes, knocked on the door after 15, different staff member told me it would be an hour Owner ( I assume) comes across as rude ! Hope they’ll fix opening times atleast

Literally got conned at this place. The guys took one look at me; easy target and thought they will charge me double!! I ordered 2 portions of chips with stir fry chicken ontop and they charged me £16!! Isn't this supposed to be a sandwich lunchtime shop? Definitely not come here again, the workers all stare and judge you then charge it seems. Not a very nice experience, its not worth it! Don't go!!

Extremely arrogant. My first time there was terrible. They did not try to get my order and when I made my order they hand me food that was already made(microwaved) And thank you for being racist also. Not going there entire my life.

Best in the business. Healthy, filled with bursting flavours and plenty of salad and vegetables. The chicken, rice and sausage with the special sauce is a must. Enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Preston's worst kept secret for food

This was my first 3 Monkeys in 8 years! It was amazing when I had it last and it was incredible this time. The chicken is always great and the samosas are the highlight for me!

Literally sat with it on my knee as I right the review, I enjoyed the food but they got the food mixed up and my vegetarian girlfriend just took a bite of my chicken burrito.... safe to say she wasn't pleased.... Please take more care....

Awesome delicious food at affordable prices! One of the best places around the University to eat! The staff are super friendly and hardworking. My favourite is the Portuguese chicken. Would definitely recommend 10/10

Amazing fresh chicken and rice with good service

Lovely food but prices have recently skyrocketed, charging more for rice, giving less and charging more for salads, used to be value for money but starting to be too expensive for a lunch.

This pace used to be a staple during my time at UCLan. Especially I loved their rice parcels (Chicken Rice, Beef Rice and Fish Rice). The rice was excellent with great condiments, nice sauces, veggies and great selection of chicken or beef. I also loved their Monkey Monkey breakfast option, it is a fusion of desi and english breakfast.

Its okay dont know what the hype is all about

Will keep going again and again, never get bored of the menu, customer service on the dot

I used to grab sandwiches or chicken rice every other day if not EVERYDAY when I was doing my exchange semester at UCLan. It's been already 3 years since I left Preston, but I still reminisce of the lunch box I had from this bar time to time. Hope to visit Preston and the 3 monkeys sandwich bar someday in the future!

This place is fantastic! I got this place recommended, so I popped in on the way with deliveries and I am sure I'll come here every time I'm in the area. From the moment you walk in you'll know you are in great food place, everything looks nice and tidy, it's clean and it smells like good fresh food. Highly recommended, you won't regret spending your money here.

The chicken butty I bought this evening was truly awful!!! The chicken was so dry, worst I have ever had from any place. Do not go...... Not what it once was sadley. This place was once in the top 5 for places to eat in Preston, now 200+.....says a lot.

Love this place! The rice and chicken is to die for. Very small shop though and the ques are always very long but it's worth it, the food is amazing and not too dear either!

We had our meals as take-away. After having burgers and chips almost every other day, the chicken / rice combo tasted really good. For those who want a simple meal and away from ‘fast food’ this is a good option. It’s really close to UCLAN hence very convenient for students.

Portions are getting smaller....go next door to delicious delight for same price get double portion size and no extra cost extras like olives and cheese. Monkeys is extra for sides. Place gone down hill and only a tiny seating area.

Food here is so nice only down side is that 9t can be abit busy but i guess that's a good sign of how good the food actually is ..bit stashed of you have to leave the main part of town and head toward uni

The sandwich was so delicious and heavy that I didn't finish it in the morning.The weight matches the price. The service attitude is very good, and will ask me whether to eat spicy food, also very patient to recommend. It is a good place for the students.

The Piri Piri chicken is good with rice and salad. The service is fast. They dont put a lot of salad on your food which is a bit rubbish, i had to ask to put a little bit more on, even then there was only a small amount.

Really tasty. Serve you super fast. Really busy during peak times good choice a bit hit and miss with some of the portion sizing but would definitely recommend!

Placed an order for 1pm as I have 30 min lunch brake got there and it was't ready although We called 2h in advance!!!!! There's a reason why they are called Monkeys and that's because they are true Monkeys behind the counter!!!!! Never again!!!!! No customer services what so ever.........no sorry no f... off!!!! No thank you!!!!Monkeys!!!!!

I had two great meals at The 3 Monkeys during my stay in Preston. I enjoyed a delicious monkeys breakfast one morning after an all nighter and this breakfast hit the spot, especially the eggs. I also ate there for dinner and had a spicy chicken over rice. The staff a very friendly and worked hard to fill our big order. I'll be back for more drub on my next visit.

It's ok plenty choices. Nothing spectacular here tho. Tried the jerk chicken with rice and beans. Chicken cubes frozen catering style with some seasoning. Concept is good could be better
