Noticed that the restaurant was in new hands. Ordered via on line which didn’t work and had to resort to the old fashioned way of phoning our request in. Takeaway via delivery. Surprised that the order arrived within 25 minutes bearing in mind it must have been at least 10 minutes drive time. Chicken Jalfrezi was too hot and seemed almost Vindaloo strength, went in the bin. Chicken Chilli Massala had the appearance of cold chicken reheated with the sauce which would go some way to explaining the quick cook and delivery time. Not as good as good as the previous owner, will not revisit. Very, very disappointed ☹️

Had a takeaway delivered as a treat on a weekend. Ordered 2 chicken passandas. First came very watery, no taste. Phoned them they sent two more which were more watery than the first. All of it ended up in the bin. Phoned them to discuss & they put phone down on me. Absolutely disgusting.

Really nice dish. Ordered a chicken Balti Madras hot, perfect. Wife had a Pathia, not too hot, again perfect. Staff attentive, nothing was too much trouble. Will visit again when back on Devon

We have been going regularly for the past 3 years and have never once been disappointed. The food and service is superb. We love it and can not praise and recommend Thariks enough. Not a good experience The chicken was hard to eat we had garlic chicken and Dansak however the dansak was the garlic chicken !!!with just sugar added and chilli! no lentils in it . If I had wanted that I would have said We booked online so the offer was 20 % off but when bill came it was not taken off so we had to ask . The owner sat with a hoody up on a table very unprofessional We eat out in Indian restaurant a lot as well as buying all spices in brick lane and making our own Indian food we lived in India in our life . we was asked to try this restaurant but will never return ,the only good side was the waiter who was very polite . The toilets really was not nice for customers to use

Service from Saurabh was very good. Wasn’t expecting such attentive and friendly service in a beach side restaurant. Coming from London where there are lots of curry houses, the taste of food was just average. It was just alright. But the average curry was covered up by the great service.

Out of this world food , fresh , generous portions , attention to detail when ordering, superb friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us , and lovely surroundings making the whole experience just fabulous. We’ve eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants and we can honestly say this is the best and we are fussy eaters . A hidden gem not to be missed we loved it ! Thank you and see you again soon .

We ordered 2 onion bhajee starters, Thariks menu clearly states they come with salad, this is misleading as they don't. The Tandoori chicken was smothered in red colourant to disguise it had not been cooked in a clay oven. The pilau rice was tasteless and just boiled rice with red and green colourant.

Visited following new ownership. Found the meals rather insulting to the western pallette. Red food colouring to make the chicken look like it was cooked in a Tandor oven. Asked for Pilau rice and got some boiled rice with red and green food colouring. Rang them saying didn't receive lamb; turns out it was Australian beef. Watch it when you are cleaning the dishes. If it stains the basin, you will need some thick bleach to wash it away.

Superb takeaway tonight. Excellent quality chicken and really tasty. Couldn’t fault it. We’ve been using Thariks (eat in and takeaway) over a number of years and this was our best yet and certainly one of the best Indians in the bay.

Came over from Torquay this evening as your website you was open and was very disappointed to find the restaurant closed you really need to update when your closed so annoying when you find out your closed when suppose to be open.

We had a takeaway, ordered early doors. What a disappointment. Nan breads had the same texture as a flip flop. Lamb tikka, well the lamb was rubbery and had no flavour. The chicken tikka was bland. However the sag aloo was delicious.

Tikka Massala very good and all the food we have tried has been excellent. Good naans and excellent samosas. The food tastes like it has been cooked with care and expertise. Only had takeaway so haven't tried the sizzling type of dishes. Really nice fresh rice, salad and vegetables. Only dish I wouldn't order again so far is the King Prawn Biryiani as not nearly as good as my favourite Indian which is far away in Kingsbridge.

The worst customer service ever. The toilets for customers is so dirty that it shouldn't be open for use. The metal rice dishes had finger prints on them and the rice was clumpy and disgusting. The attitude towards staff was terrible and his greetings were terrible. Worst restaurant I've visited in nearly ten years. The manager doesn't have a clue how to run a business and for that reason alone should be closing instead of suckling the joy out of it. I've seen more life in a morgue.

Having not been here for many years, I was really looking forward to visiting with four friends. Wow, standards have fallen! We arrived on time, not to be be greeted with a smile, just a pointed finger showing us which table to take. Throughout the meal we all felt like we were in the way and an inconvenience. The lady and gent (assumed owners?) made no attempt to interact. Leaning over, dropping plates in front of you, or handing them to you to take. I literally had to place my head against the wall to avoid being elbowed in the face. Faulty towers would have delivered better service. The restaurant was very quiet, no atmosphere at all. Long waits before food orders taken, perhaps to get you to drink more. The loo wasn’t pretty, a trolly of cleaning stuff on view, but not used. The vent above the loo had a thick mound of black dust hanging from it. On a positive, compliments to the chef, the two stars are for you, the food was really nice and all five of us enjoyed it.I suggest they shut up the restaurant and concentrate on being a takeaway as this is not a dining experience anyone would want to repeat.

Moved from London 4 years ago and couldnt find a indian takeaway the same as my favourite in london, But this was reccomended by a family member and wouldnt eat anywhere else. I order probably once a week and the food is always just as good as the first time i tried it. definatley would reccomend!

I eat here all the time and I also order take away it is really good I always havethe chicken pathia with naan it's so light and soft when we visit the restaurant with my partner my partner don't like hot spicy food and they will do it less spicy the will alter anything on the menu to your taste the way you like it l also have the dansak as it tastes just like a pathia but with lintels and garlic flake and pineapple as I don't like garlic flake and pineapple they are always happy to take it out I would recommend the food to any and I always have 10 out of ten

Omg i actually feel sick and I only eaten 2 mouthfuls, chicken on the mixed grill was dry and had a very unpleasant smell, the bread was really sweet nothing like normal, all dripping in fat, couldn’t eat it will not return, shame as used to be my favourite place to eat

I used to eat here a lot in the 90s, the food was fantastic then but sadly the chef moved away and the food wasn’t as good, revisited a few years ago and was ok, the food was fine, but it lacked the edge that I expect from a top Indian restaurant.
