The interior is nicely resembled Thai street food stall style! The service was fast and attentive. All our dishes were ok but nothing impressive, from flavour to presentation.

Great food, although a little pricey, particularly the drinks - I had the Chilli and Thai basil pork belly stir fry, which tasted amazing - only criticism would be that the service was quite slow.

Really nice food. On the pricey side but maybe that's just my cheapskate POV. If you want really spicy go for the dishes with 4/4 chilli peppers. Nice AND spicy!!

In my case, I ate street noodles. It's similar to Pad Thai, but has a spicy taste and is so delicious. If you want to find a taste of the East in British life, maybe you should come here. The food the other group ordered was curry with egg noodles, and the soup itself tasted like tom yum kung + curry added. If you like tom yum goong, it’s a taste you can’t dislike. The meat in the middle is eaten as a side, and it tastes like pork ribs. It's really delicious, so I highly recommend it... In fact, just eating this is enough to complete a meal. Lastly, I had a traditional dessert, which included mango + rice + coconut milk. While I was looking at it, I wondered what this was, and while I was eating it, I wondered what this was, but I found myself continuing to eat it. I don't want to recommend it to anyone, but it's a good experience to try at least once.

Amazing food and interior decorations. We had crispy prawn coconut for starters, Pork belly stir fry chilli and basil with egg fried rice. Pork was very crispy and complemented well with egg fried rice. Quantity was decent and good quality food. Drinks -Pineapple and ginger Cocktail was also good and not too sweet. Staff were warm and pleasant.

We enjoyed a lovely meal here on the weekend. We didn’t reserve a table, and we were happy to order a drink at the bar and wait for 15 minutes. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food came out quickly and it was hot. The food quality is good and the pricing is fair. We would visit again!

I had been here last week. The service was amazing. Friendly and great. Food was amazing. Came again this week. Told to wait at the bar which is fine. Everyone else was seated before then they realised I hadn't been seated. So sat downstairs in the cold, only one down there and needed to keep my jacket on. Was about to leave when someone asked my order. Food came out very quickly (wouldn't normally happen). Worst part was the receipt literally has all the card details on it bar the 3 numbers on the back. BY LAW no one can do that at a restaurant. This is based on FACTA information. Be careful with your receipts.

I ordered the tofu red thai curry. It was nice, quite tasty but could've had a bit more tofu and veg in the portion. Egg fried rice was very nice, as were the spring rolls and Banana Colada. We weren't asked about what spice level we'd like so it wasn't really spicy enough for me. Unfortunately I probably won't be going back due to the way I witnessed my friend being treated by the server, which I felt and she described as sadly one of the many microaggressions she has to frequently deal with as a Black British woman. I have contacted the restaurant about this separately as it made the overall experience quite disappointing.

We visited Oxford for the weekend and fancied a Thai place that was quite unique and boy did we find a hidden gem. The portion sizes were super generous, the service was fast and the staff super nice and friendly... Unto the food, big bold flavours full of punch and bite while not over bearing the pallet. We had the shared platters and honestly the best meal I have had dining out in a while. Would definitely go again next time I visit but highly recommend! Thanks to a great evening team and making my birthday visit special!

I just ordered a green curry from here to get delivered and paid £20 for the curry and rice. The curry arrived barely room temperature and only a Quarter of the curry was in the tub!! The rice pot was only half way full! Overpriced and they do not help you in any way! This is outrageous and a scam!

AVOID at all costs paid £20 for a takeaway curry with rice and they only serve you a fraction of the portion! I counted 3 pieces of chicken!!

Thaikhun mice sighting in 2025 Jan 7th: 1. Last week, We noticed two mice running about in the restaurant, beneath the tables, eating bits of food left on the floor. We reported this to our server, and they left to tell a manager. The server returned and told us the manager had never of this issue before, but would apparently look into it. Since then, I noticed multiple other reviews of the restaurant have mentioned not only seeing mice inside, but also of having brought this issue to the attention of managers previously, who appear to be doing nothing effective about the problem 5 months later. 2. We arrived at 8pm and the restaurant opening time till 10pm, shows in Google Map. However, there is a male manager pushed us to order and kept saying ‘ it’s too late, you cannot order anymore if you take long time to order’. He was very impatient and rude. 3. They added serves fee without telling us, we only found it after leaving. We barely ate the food because of mice problem and they knew this, cannot believe they still doing this while knowing we were unsatisfied with mice and also didn’t eat the food. 4. Food is not good too, the soup is boring and tasted like water with a bit spices only.

Went for a meal there and I saw rats running around the restaurant…. 🤮very poor hygiene, have reported them to the Food safety authority in Oxford city council!

The portions here are very small, and they charge £5 for rice, which other places include with the curry. The food quality isn’t great either. They also added an optional service fee, which I didn’t realize at first. Overall, a disappointing experience, and I won’t be coming back.

Had a great meal here a few days ago. I loved that pineapple rice which I ordered, tasted really nice. The basil fried rice was excellent as well though it was very, very spicy. I really liked the colourful and cool interior of this restaurant. The chilli squid was pretty good as well.

The food is amazing and the staff is friendly. The padthai dish is my favorite! I’m really impressed with the dish and service here.

Have eaten here once before and found it very good. Booked a table for Thursday and when we turned up was told they had no pork or beef. Travelling 40 minutes to come eat here to be told they done have any of the basic stock was very underwhelming. I took my customs elsewhere and doubt I’ll be back again because of the risk of not having ingredients.

Food was good nothing amazing, however I got my rice in a plastic bag in a bowl which I thought was pretty awful tbh, like it had been cooked in that bag and the chef couldn't be bothered to take it out the packet, was also very mushy. The service was dreadful, had to call waiters over everytime to order food or drinks after patiently waiting for 10-15mins to get someone to take our drinks order making eye contact with waiters we had to call them. Atmosphere was nice as the decoration was lovely but was all overpriced as well. Will not be going back.

Went here with a party of 3 and got the Sharing Feast. It was perfect since we all wanted a different dish, and also was able to share a bit with one another.

Have been to Thai Kun many times and have always savoured the delicious and authentic Thai food they serve. The service can be a bit slow during busy times but the food never fail to impress. I would highly recommend this restaurant for families.

The restaurant is well decorated and has a great atmosphere. The food tastes okay, not amazing, but the portions are huge. Three dishes + a cup of Thai milk tea each, two girls can’t finish it😂

This was the first Thaikun I've been to but my colleagues recommended it for a work meal. I was worried I wouldn't like anything on the menu or struggle with spice, but I was totally wrong. The menu was great, I went with the crispy chicken and cashew and egg fried rice, it was insanely good, honestly some of the best tasting food I have EVER had. Staff were so lovely and accommodating and the place is decorated in a really cool way.

Had to ask for our drinks order to be taken. Had to ask to order our food. The chicken in the curry was dry and had an after taste. The curry tasted of vinegar. The rice was crunchy. The cocktail was mainly ice. Underwhelming.

I think this place is overpriced based on its value. The chilli squid we ordered was barely warm when it’s served. The green curry was watery not thick at all. Overall, quite disappointed.

Pineapple fried rice and pad thai were okay, legendary ksj and basil fry were delicious.

We walked in and waited in the restaurant whilst waiting for a table. Staff was very prompt. Kindly showed us options for halal food (including ones risk of contamination). I’ve attached the menu with ones circled as halal. We had green curry chicken, papaya salad and thai basil fried rice. Great service and food was good.

Walked in of the street didn't book, told us about a 20 min wait but was seated at a table within 10 min. Staff super friendly and helpful. Food was amazing would highly recommend.

Really authentic atmosphere and food. We were six and ordered the pinto sharing feast and everything we had was super tasty. Note that the portions are huge! So feel free to order less than you think. The biggest con was, that it was very busy so the service kept overlooking our table.

Freindly service but the food nothing like we had in Thailand. The Massaman was watery, not spicy, and the beef- warning!- inchewable, couldn't guess it's beef and not necessary of wood. Drfat beer was OK.

We decided to come here for my 30th before going to the theatre and was left disappointed! We ordered drinks and food, and by the time our starters arrived we didn’t receive our drinks, they were only served when we received our mains. We ordered two more drinks and they never came. So I cancelled them. As I had ordered two for 12£ on cocktails, I ended up paying 11£ for 1 drink instead of the 2 for 12. We asked for coffees and waited another 20min… I found the service very disappointing which was a shame for the amazing food the chefs cooked!

The food was absolutely delicious! The restaurant had a fantastic atmosphere with unique and interesting decor. Our meals arrived quickly and were reasonably priced, with prices ranging between £10-£20 per dish.

Highly rcm this place!!!!!!! Food was so good that I felt like it was the best dishes I have ever had since I arrived to the UK. Portion is big, we (2 girls) were full with Papaya Salad, Tomyum soup and Pineapple Fried rice, and Red Thai milktea, total £46 for the meal. Student discount applicable (but we forgot to apply 😭) With papaya salad, we requested less spicy and they understood the assignment well!!! Toilets were clean and smelled nicely. I went to many restaurants that eating places were nice but toilets were horrible. I will definitely come back. Happy to know that they have branches in other cities lol Btw, I think u should make a reservation. I went on weekday but there was only a table of 2 left!! Just enough for us 😂

A very original and very well decorated Thai, it seems like you are in Thailand. They have many options of dishes, with different degrees of spiciness and for vegetarians. Very friendly and attentive service.

Recently dined here for dinner Booked a table for Sunday, felt rushed as we got there and were told they close around 8 so we need to order starters and main together... It was all very hurried, nobody checked if our food was okay. Didn't enjoy my meal (pad thai) I wouldn't visit again.

We got very poor treatment and left very upset and disrespected yesterday. I don't feel like going back because of the demeaning tone the waiter spoke to us. What happened was- it was a Saturday, we made a phone call to Thaikhun to book a table for 3 and the girl on the phone took down my details. But when we got there, they had trouble locating our details. A Thai guy took over and asked for our confirmation number, but we never received one. He then asked us to show our proof on our phone that we made that call in the afternoon, and then said it would be impossible for them to have booked the table because they didn't take bookings anymore on the Saturday within a certain time frame. Our phone call fell a few minutes before that time frame anyway. He proceeded to click on his computer and said Thaikhun's number is different- but we definitely clicked call on the number on google. I got a little frustrated at how he was talking to me with suspicion when I clearly had spoken to someone on the phone that afternoon. He didn't offer an apology or humility and kept on going on all the reasons why I seemingly didn't make that booking. I finally asked- well, do you have a table for me or not? He responded with a very proud no. I'm so embarrassed and feel so small after this incident. Why should I feel this way as a customer? I'm never going back. I have never experienced this kind of customer service in Oxford ever- this was the worst ever Saturday night I took my mum and sister out on. Poorest ever service. Poorest ever representation of the restaurant and culture.

Amazing Atmosphere! Friends birthday and wrote this in the booking box online. Staff came singing Happy Birthday with a slice of cake at end of meal! Made her feel very special! Defo recommend pad thai !

Really delicious Thai food. Will definitely be back here in the near future! Edit: we returned and received just as good food the second time around! The massaman curry is delicious. You can get a 15% student discount, but it should be made clear on the menu that this does not apply to the pinto bowls.

This place is not too bad. The food is reasonable and I particularly like their tamarind chicken and fried banana fritters. The drinks were superb and very creative. The award winning feature is the service with very helpful staff.

We booked in for a family celebration and the staff could have not been more accommodating in making this a most memorable evening! Great, warm welcome, delicious food, the beer tower was genius! And they even helped us plan a surprise birthday song and cake. Could not fault the evening!

Ordering the four dishes for £19 is an absolute bargain - I’d recommend the cashew chicken because it tastes amazing. The portions are generous and the atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice. I’d recommend getting a cocktail too.

I am sorry to give 3 stars, i have 2 experiences, ordering food from thaikun by deliveroo. I ordered 8 items but it only come 7 boxes. Last time i ordered the same thing happened. :(.

Even though we had made a reservation, it took a long time before a table was available. We didn't understand the menu and the waiter explained it with great impatience. While eating we saw a mouse walking twice. You immediately have less need for food. Reported to the owner. They have removed the service fee from the bill as a solution for the mouse 🤣

When you are here, you really feel like you are in Thailand. Great décor, delicious food, and very nice and polite waiters—that's all you need. The only thing I did not like in my mango sticky rice was the mango. The menu said this was "fresh mango from Thailand," but I have tried mango in Thailand, and this one here can't compare to mangoes from Thailand. Apart from that, our experience was very good. 👍

The menu is very misleading, please read through properly and order, even the waiter will not say that the food is for two people and will be double charged. The food was very salty.

Nice decor and friendly staff. Very quick food service. Pad Thai was nice but maybe slightly too sweet. Masaman curry was tasty but a little bit like a soup as had quite a thin sauce. Rice was good as were the prawns as a starter. All in all good value and good service. I feel they should not add the 10% tip on to the bill which you have to request to remove if you wish, but I believe a lot of restaurants are doing this now.

We are not local but Thaikhun really impressed us. I would definitely say that they serve an amazing Thai food. We enjoyed our food, our drink and dessert. Our 3 kids love the food so much especially the Pad Thai noodle and the mango sticky rice. Our 14months baby enjoyed the Thai fried rice much. Staff was very nice and friendly! The environment made us feel like we were having our holiday in Thailand. Apologies that we haven’t much photo to share as we were busy in looking after our kids.

I absolutely love this restaurant. This is my third time visiting, and as always, the hospitality is second to none, friendly, and welcoming. The decor can keep you occupied for quite some time as you relax, waiting for the freshly prepared delicious food to arrive from the kitchen. Watching the chef's cook meals from upstairs is mesmerising. Everything is done with skill and panache.

Best place to vibe and have great food

The Thai Red Prawn curry with coconut rice is one of the best combinations of flavours I've had it was spicy but very very delicious and the pineapple mojito was the cherry on top I also had the spicy Thai basil fried rice everything was great expecially the Crispy fried egg would highly recommend this place to anyone that loves spicy thai food.

We really enjoyed the food, the service (love the Hawaiian shirts), and the high-energy ambiance. Drinks and food were well portioned and very tasty. Seriously good and fun place to try.

Vibes inside look nice but the service doesn’t match. Our table server was Jake as mentioned on the bill. 1. He ignored when I give the sign to place our order, but after a wait he took the order. 2. He join the table next to us to the last table after the people who left from the last table. 3. My baby start crying so we decide to feed her and I just sit little out of my seat, he come there and separate that table which he had join earlier and move the chair towards me. 4. There was no any new customer arrive still he push the chair towards me and his face expression explain. 5. Just tell how will you gonna feel with this behavior.

The interior decor is full of Thai elements, creating an atmosphere that feels like being in a Thai night market. It's almost fully booked even on weekday evenings! I was looking forward to enjoying the sour and spicy flavors of Thai cuisine since I haven't had it in a while. Signature Thai dish - Tom Yum Goong: The flavor was rather mild, with light touches of sourness and spiciness. Mango Sticky Rice was another dish I was looking forward to, but the mango was unripe and very sour, making the whole dish quite disappointing. Red Curry Beef and Thai-style Fried Chicken Rice: Both dishes were sufficiently spicy, flavorful, and delicious. The service was average; we had to wait for the staff to "pass by" to place orders or pay the bill. The prices were not cheap with 10% service charge, the total bill came to £99! There should be better options available.

Nice place. Nang, our waitress, was very lovely and helpful. The starters and small plates were excellent. The mains could have had a bit more heat to make it 'thai level.' Although that's coming from someone who lived there ;)

10 of us decided to go here for a workmates leaving do. The food was absolutely fantastic with generous portions, beer was also perfect. I had the legendary KSG for main and a sharing platter with a workmate, both were delicious. I will definitely be visiting again,with the family. Had our first trip on a Saturday evening. When we arrived the place was very busy but there were no delays with ordering or food/drink arriving. The food was brilliant and very much enjoyed. The started sharing platter was especially tasty. Once the place quietened down it was hard to find someone to take a drinks order and pay. Would definitely go again though
