Thai Samai Thai Restaurant in Cheshire East

Great food as usual and perfect for a family or friends get to gether and no pressure to leave as soon as you have finished

In October we were in Crewe and we went in Thai Samai restaurant. It was relay nice and delicious and the food was close to the Thai taste. We were in Thailand we know what to expect. In December we were again near Crewe with some friends and we decided to visit the same restaurant. Unfortunately we had such a bad experience this time, so nothing like the first time. In the kitchen an English man was cooking, no one was asian, the portions was small and far away from the Thai taste. We ordered Tom Yum And Tom Ka, this was just like a coloured water with some pieces of chicken. Pad thai was kind of pasta prepared by someone who don't know what is doing. We ordered 2 more dishes - one was so salty so our children can't stop drinking water after that. Only the curry had something similar to thai curry. We explain this to the people in restaurant. The waitress was laughing, they didn't even say real sorry, didn't give us any discount, we paid £49 for this rubbish. This was our most terrible experience at all for a restaurant in UK. I would not recommend this restaurant at all, but if you want to go, first check who is cooking...

Saw a groupon deal so thought we would try something new. Staff were inexperienced, decor was shocking and I’m still wondering where the spice in my Thai green curry is. Ordered a bottle of Prosecco, which took 20 minutes to arrive, to be given a wine glass and a pint glass. Once both glasses were sorted we were left to pop our own cork. There were 4 other tables occupied whilst we were there and each table complained either about the lack of spice in the food or about how cold the food was. One of the people waiting on (think it was the owner) was waiting tables dressed in a huddie and trainers. Not exactually the dress code you would expect. The waitress didn’t have a clue. We had to repeat ourselves a number of times as to what we wanted and are still now waiting on the Thai crackers we ordered (even after she shouted over to us to ask if we had ordered them) All in all a very disappointing experience and we will not be returning.

Really good Thai food, great value - used a Groupon deal! Could do with some improvements on the outside but the inside is lovely.

Wife and I visited restaurant last night and without doubt the tastiest Thai food around. Staff very friendly too. All in all a lovely highly recommended evening and will definitely be returning.

Had a lovely meal. Really well looked after. Food is exceptional for the price, plenty of choice too.

We were a bit unsure walking through the front door as it was unfinished and we felt like we were walking into a shop but the gentleman who was English was lovely put us at ease helped us choose what to eat! We didn’t have a long wait for food as it was quiet and we had a large choice of food and drink ! The food was beautifully presented and extremely tasty and as it was a Groupon voucher brilliant value! I didn’t use the toilet but the Decor of the actual restaurant not including the shop was very good x We will be back!

Looks like a shop front from outside but I assure you the service can’t be faulted and food is is amazing, we used the groupon deal for four and what a brilliant evening it was, we event bought some shrimp crackers and sweet chilli sauce from the shop in the restaurant, lovely quirky little restaurant well worth a visit

What a great find, excellent food, lovely, friendly staff who were very accommodating. The food is traditional and the decor has a quirky touch. Highly recommended.

I went with my wife who is Thai. The food was great, the portions where more than adequate and the owner who served us was very friendly and attentive. We have been to many Thai restaurants in the UK and this ranks as one of the best. The interior is very nice although the exterior offers no clues as to the delights inside. If you want real Thai food this is for you, stay away from the chain restaurants and pay a visit to Thai Samai

Myself and my partner were looking for somewhere which did a buffet dinner. I enquired at Thai Samai and the owner was very accommodating. I wasn't sure what to expect but I'm so glad we decided to go. We each had a choice of a starter, two main courses plus a drink included in the price and we weren't disappointed. Although there is still a bit of work to do in the restaurant the food is outstanding and the owner and staff very friendly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys good authentic Thai food. I can see this little gem going places so I wish Howard and all the staff all the very best and I'll be sure to see you again soon!! Thanks for a great night..

Needs to look like a restaurant bu doesn’t Half looks like a supermarket. Had a good deal on groupon with a starter drink and main for £21. Mine was ribs they were great. My wife had prawns she liked them and main of pad Thai, she enjoyed that. My main Lard Na was not great and had no real taste or spice ar all. I am sure other dishes would be great.

I visited with a group of friends as we found a very affordable price on ‘groupon’ for the six of us. The food here is absolutely incredible! Given the number of Thai restaurants and takeaways along this road, the competition falls flat compared to this place. Given that we had read reviews ourselves prior to visiting, we had very little expectations for the outside of the restaurant but our opinion was soon changed upon being seated promptly with very attentive, friendly and chatty staff. Our food arrived within around 20-30 minutes of being ordered and shortly after us being served drinks, with the perfect amount of time between starters and mains. I was extremely impressed with this after being told that they only had one chef in on the evening who was also doing takeaways and cooking for other guests in the restaurant! The staff were happy to discuss the menu with us and explain anything that we didn’t understand and continued to check that everything was okay throughout the meal. The Owner and his staff have clearly put a lot of time and effort into turning this restaurant around and updating their decor as well. Their efforts are extremely underrated! I cannot thank you all enough for such an enjoyable visit and i would definitely recommend this to anyone who is unsure at first glance. Forget the price on groupon, this restaurant deserves for the full price to be paid!!

Ignore the outside, this is the best Thai I’ve had, ever. Brilliant fresh food , quick services with good portion sizes. Really friendly staff , felt welcome as soon as we stepped in and were always there to help. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.

New owners, don’t be put off the the outside the food is lush, lovely fresh food made my day as I love trying new places

I'm not an expert when it comes to Thai food, so I asked the owner to bring what he recommended. I certainly was not disappointed, excellent food very fresh and tasty.

The outside nearly put us off but beautiful authentic food and lovely owner! Very glad we came in! Would highly recommend, plus they do takeaway!

Ordered Choo Chee Prawns, Beef Masaman, rice and crackers last night. Collected in 30 minutes and wasn't expecting much I'll be honest given the state of the restaurant.

Absolutely amazing. All fresh and hot. Owner was great. Loved it and will be back soon. If you like Thai you can't go wrong here

We went here last night and the food was excellent. The decor inside is lovely so don't be put off by the exterior. The service was first class too so if you like thai food definitely give it a try.

Food was amazing even brought home a doggy bag. Manager went out of his way to make us feel welcome certainly will be back very soon😄😄😄
