Wow, lived up here for 20 years and have just found this most amazing Indian restaurant and it’s on my doorstep………how on earth have I not found this amazing jewel in a crown? Food……..perfect, service……..impeccable, restaurant quality……on point. FANTASTIC 😎

Such a great experience. Amazing food, the butter chicken and garlic naan are beautiful. The restaurant has such a wonderful interior and the staff are extremely helpful and kind. Would totally recommend and will be back very soon!

What an unexpectedly wonderful experience. The service was fabulous, very warm and genuine. The food was superb, great portion size too, I was so stuffed! I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

Looks a bit forelorn from the outside, but don't be put off by that. It's nice inside, clean and presentable. We received a lovely warm welcome and were shown to our table. Ordered drinks that arrived quickly and studied the menu. There's plenty to choose from, we ordered the tandoori sharer starter and an order of onion bhaji because they're my favourite. There was a good selection of chef specials, which we both ordered from. Tamarind chicken and Special Deshi Khana with lamb, along with chilli rice, onion rice and a huge chilli and coriander naan bread! Everything came out piping hot including the plates and was absolutely delicious. Soft tender lamb cooked in a beautiful flavoursome sauce, juicy chicken in a delightful Tamarind sauce. Looked after very nicely by a very personable host. Thank you Basmati for a lovely meal. If we lived here I'm sure we would be regulars!

Visited this restaurant on 25/07/2024, on entering the restaurant were shown to our seats by a lovely lady, the restaurant owner came to take our order, he to was so friendly, the service was great, and the food was delicious, we will definitely be going back.

Excellent food as always, chicken so tender. Food full of flavor. The owner comes and chats and has a joke with you. A lovely restaurant for a meal.

Mohammed was a great server and the food was the best curry I have had in a long time. Having ordered the chicken tikka balti I highly recommend with a garlic rice.

We have had several Take away meals from basmati but wanted to try out the restaurant and we were not disappointed . We went early Saturday evening and received a warm welcome from the two guys serving. There is an extensive menu, our dishes were all cooked really well and presented nicely. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied ! Nice wine and good range of beers The resultant is very cosy and we felt very relaxed and enjoyed our evening very much we will be back again very soon

Really great overall however, not a great initial impresson as the exterior of the building and the surrounding external area don't offer a great impression to be honest. Looked a bit run down and unkempt BUT, the welcome/greeting, staff/food and prices could not be faulted and we will definitely return! The nan bread was absolutely wonderful ❤️

We are back in the UK so had to visit our favourite restaurant (and people). We weren't disappointed - the food is as amazing as ever. I had the veg pathia, my husband had chicken and my friend who had the veg balti hasn't stopped talking about it. A fabulous meal hosted by the most friendly people ever. Ahmed, we miss you 😔

We wanted to support our local Indian restaurant Basmati so I held an event to support a fundraiser. We cannot thank the staff enough for all their hard work. The food was amazing and we had so much fun. We laughed and we saw the reasons of supporting a very good cause to get food aid to the right people in Ukraine. Thank you, thank you, thank you Basmati! Fantastic restaurant and takeaway, the service is great and the staff treat you like family. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh, you can tell its been made with love and skill. We often get free surprises in our bag too! Definitely our regular.

After looking on reviews we ended up here, and i must disagree on all the 5 star rating food was bland, place was run down, felt rushed tried to clean away our plates b4 we had even finished, curry arrived and we both left most of ours wasnt asked was it ok only needed to look what we left to see it wasnt, wont be going back one on the list to avoid at all cost

A really good curry. Had the onion barjees, Murghi mossala special, the vegetable pathia, the veg curry with peas rice and naans. Not too expensive and money off for collecting. Best curry we’ve had in ages. We’re from Birmingham so obviously we know what a good curry should be like 😁. This really is one of the best. Top notch. Highly recommended.

Booked in October after our shop in aldi which is next door, we saw a banner hanging outside the premises for christmas day and boxing day, we booked for the boxing day offer which was advertised for £16.95 per person. When we went on boxing day at the time we booked we were given a menu, we were a bit confused so asked for the boxing day offer, we were offered the buffet, when the bill arrived it equated to just under £25 per person, we questioned it, they denied all knowledge of the boxing day offer saying the £16.95 started next week, we always get our take aways from here but wont be gracing them with our custom again

Serious curry lover here & I must say this is one of the best curry houses in the area the curry’s are delicious cooked with proper authentic ingredients, customer service is also fantastic and prices are good. I definitely recommend for either a sit in or takeout.

Was invited here by the owner for a celebration buffet night. Service was great, poppadoms were brought to the table quickly and then it's help yourself to the buffet. Great choice, very tasty all hot and fresh, it was a great night

What a wonderful evening we have had at Basmati Nantwich. Me and my father went for a sit down meal and the food and service was exceptional. Amazing food, great atmosphere, quick service. The chicken Tikka is one of the nicest Indian dishes I have ever had as are the somosas.

Hospitality exceptional, Chose it for my Wife's birthday treat. Meals very good, I had the Butter Chicken. was spot on, Delicious. and the wife was happy with her Tikka Masala. Nan's were just wright not over crispy. no negativity at all.

Ordered a delivery and process was good and delivered on time. Pappadoms were a bit like they were cooked in stale oil. Chutneys ok. Mixed starter was nice and fresh except the lamb part which was chewy. Plain chicken curry had that bitter / darker type sauce but chicken itself was reheated and dried out / chewy. Plain rice ok. Maybe eating in would have been better

Decided to have some takeaway food from here last night. Wish i had opened a can of beans and done some toast. Jalfrezi was just heat no flavour. The lamb was tough and the onions and peppers in the sauce were barely cooked. I would have expected better from a restaurant.

Absolutely fantastic meal from Basmati. Ordered online for collection and was able to pick up in 15 minutes. The food was piping hot (pots were extremely hot) and we all thought it was delicious. Will definitely be ordering again.

We tried Basmati tonight, really nice food, great portions, Ice cold beer and excellent value for money. The staff were great and Ahmed he was the best, gave us 100% attention all night, Even opened the door for us on the way out. Also had good parking. will be back again for sure.

Went to Basmati Nantwich a meal with friends for the first time in years. The service was fantastic and the food amazing. We had a great night and would recommend any curry lover to try it out.

We love the food from here, it is always so fresh and the staff are lovely too. The restaurant is the old station house so you get to see the trains pulling up alongside too.

The customer service was top notch. I tried the Curry Chili Chiken with boiled rice and it was awesome. I highly recommend.

Had a pleasant enough meal here the Thursday before Christmas. Quite surprised how quiet it was but that meant we got excellent service. My Chicken Deshi Khana was tasty but a bit sweet for my taste.

The 3 of had a great time in there last week. Looking forward to going again in the very near future

Absolutely brilliant Christmas Day spent here, food was excellent along with top class service. The two gentlemen running the place were very friendly and nothing was to much trouble for them. Will definitely go back already booked in for my birthday.

Up there with the best and we live on a Narrowboat, so travel around the country. No ingestion, not salty and not greasy. Definitely going back while in the area. Outside looks terrible, inside it is lovely and loos were clean. Locals should support this business in these troubled times. If I had a local business, I would certainly this book place for a staff treat.

Food is brilliant. Very basic decor, more like a cafeteria than a restaurant.

Myself and 4 friends from schooldays had a meal here to put the brakes on a heavy drinking session. It worked in more ways than one. The two very pleasant gentlemen running the restaurant informed us when we enquired about a table that they were very short staffed and there was going to be a moderate wait. We had 5 cobras to start and waited for our menus. They came and we quickly ordered our food and more beers. There was a fair wait and the beers never arrived until after the food. That said the food was absolutely superb and we all enjoyed our excellent meals thoroughly.. We could tell the two gentlemen working were doing there best to keep up with demand but they were having a hard time of it. I'd recommend the food but don't be in a hurry.

Had the most amazing food at Basmati last night. Although a little short staffed like most, the service was exceptional, and the food was full of flavour and so authentic. We will definitely be back.

Didn't know what the food was going to be like but can honestly say fantastic taste on everything we had staff brilliant 👏 value for money would definitely recommend will be back.

A quirky location, pleasant enough staff, but even when relatively quiet, soon after opening at 5 30, there was a long wait for food, about an hour for the main course, all the while the kitchen pumped out regular large takeaway orders. The lowlight was the lamb. In both starter and main course I'm looking for well cooked , succulent tender pieces of lamb, but in both courses all I found were very thin little strips , so overcooked , chewy & tasteless .no chance at all for the spices to flavour the meat. My partners chicken was OK. But for me the long wait was not worth the result.

When I need a Ruby Murray of excellent quality this is my go to. Family run giving a warm and friendly service. The food is to die for across the board whether eat in or take away. If you haven’t tried this Nantwich Asian Beauty I suggest you give it a chance.

Ordered a Chicken Rogan Josh to have it delivered. Opened it and to my horror looked liked there was two different curries mixed didn't look or Even taste like Rogan Josh. It was the first time I had Ever ordered after reading good reviews. Never Again will I order from Basmati Nantwich.

Ordered from here a few times and usually very good, ordered the other night, taste wasnt its usual quality and was left with a dry foul tasting mouth afterwards. I wont be using again.

Visited the Basmati an Friday night with friends and was not disappointed. We regularly call in for a meal here knowing that the quality of food is excellent. The staff are really friendly and helpful and polite, and up for a little friendly banter. The food as always was delicious and the service was exceptional. The red wine we chose, complimented the meal perfectly. And we all thought the final price for the evening was very reasonable. Thank you and see you all soon, Steve, Shell, Woz and Lou

Lovely food, very reasonably priced, friendly staff

Arrived , seated waited quite a while for drinks menus and popadoms. Abs was a pleasant waiter. Unfortunately the rest of the staff seemed to have an attitude. Popadoms came, chief needs to learn how o chop onions properly, to many large chunks. The wife had Aloo Gosht according to the menu a favourite at wedding, with that comment we had to agree. 2019 we went to 17 Asian weddings and one engagement. This was nothing like what we had at any of these celebrations. The attitude of the staff was eat your dinner pay us and go ! I think they all need some customer service training. If this restaurant was in Birmingham it would last a week ! Will not be in a hurry for a curry to go back again !

People here have really bas tastes. Mushroom rice insipid, chicken tikka korma sweeter and creamier than expected, lamb Naga special which had tasteless lamb and 30 seconds spicy taste, onion bhajis is better making them at home.. delivery has gotten worse in 2020/2021 and the bad taste of the English doesn't help the reviews. Total disappointment.

My partner ordered 3 takeaway main meals rice naan etc whilst passing through Nantwitch. When she arrived home in Whitchurch it was missing my daughters main meal. Bland food, popadoms taste of old Smokey oil, weird tasting condiments god knows how they get the yogurt thing looking like Kermit the frogs spit. Never go backDisappointed to say the least.

After anticipating a busy take away service as we use this restaurant a great deal we preordered our food at 5.30 and it is now 9pm and looking unlikely to arrive. This would perhaps not be so bad if the children were also not waiting as will be joining us. I’m sure they can afford to lose customers in the current climate but perhaps not who knows a very disappointed customer who will be ordering from spices or the other one on Stapeley estate! For the future.

Four of us went for a curry on Saturday night. Not one member of the staff were wearing a face covering.we were told we did not need to cover up when entering.the curry was very bland and unfortunately not hot.The wine was the worst I've had in a long time. So first this reason our first visit will be our last!

Bit disappointed. Booked for 4 of us but when we arrived they didn’t seem to have a table so they stuck us round the corner next to a table full of used glasses. Food was ok although mine could have been hotter (tempeature). Will try again

Thought we would try here having moved to area just before lockdown.All the safety measures perfectly in place; hand sanitizer at the door, exits clearly marked.We had poppadoms, starters, mains. The starters were nice, although the prawn puri could have done with a little more seasoning. However, the star of the show was the chicken tikka balti (asked for fairly hot) and the peshwari nan. The curry flavour had just enough kick and the chicken was beautiful. The nan bread cooked to perfection. Service was spot on, and a nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back! Thanks!
