Security guard making making us feel uncomfortable every where in store

Pretty standard Tesco superstore that covers most things, It has a smallish stationary, homeware and clothes section as well as a cafe, a pharmacy a tobacco and vape counter. Usual groceries and in store bakery. They also have a deli and an in-store Yo sushi counter at the back. Also a Timpsons outside in the car park.

I use Tesco Gloucester nearly every day, for a few supplies plus we generally have a coffee in the cafe. We do our weekly shopping on a Saturday spending I quess £100 or so, and have a coffee, so throughout the week we must spend about £130. On a Friday we meek relatives, two lots of shopping one so I guess another £100 + spent, Today we all had something to eat, plus coffee and teas and coke. Some thin like £40. Instead of hogging a table we take our coffees out, this frees the table for other customers, we get some chairs out in the car park along side of my car, have natter for half an hour before leaving for home, so between us we spent close on £400 . Only then to be told by, a very likeable fellow, I think he collects the trolleys, not by the security guard who did have a look at us, that we had been reported for taking up a parking space, all be it there were numerous vacant parking space’s available. So it,s a shame a manager or such didn’t have the thought to come over to speak to us, looks like Morrisons next week typical nice Sunday getting some fresh air in glouriouse weather not going here again for a long time

I love having a stroll round this store. Spacious, and it makes a refreshing change from Asda in the city centre, which I live closer to. I've never had any problems with the staff or the clientele here, the atmosphere is friendly, non-intrusive and the security staff are discreet.

Place a order delivered 4/7/24 All the fruit had the 3rd July date on them the sausage rolls eaten by the 4th. Very disappointed with this order.More training required for pickers. The fruit was disgusting and the sausage rolls tasted stale.

Went into tesco to get a couple of items, after I scanned my items at self check out,I wanted 2 use a voucher I had,the scanner for some reason couldn't scan the bar code,so I asked the assistant who was there, I said to them,thanks for coming over 2 help, after they had put the code in for the voucher etc, I said thank you,but the assistant said absolutely nothing 2me, not even a no problem, or that's OK, why are so many of there young staff just plain rude, I never have problems with older staff members, they are polite and happy to chat etc,even 1 or 2 of the younger staff are happy 2chat/help? I respect the staff in tesco coz it can be stressful and tiring at times, and I do appreciate help when I need it.

It absolutely stinks in there lately. The whole place desperately needs a refurb.

Very rude and unprofessional Manager. Very bad customer service. Went to exchange body spray just after 3 days , manager said can’t return sold items and couldn’t show policy. Spent almost £200 on cosmetics in order to give relatives as gift. Just wanted to change 4 body spray to different brand but Manager refused to do it. I have to make complaint due to unprofessional customer service and rude behaviour.

Go here every week, good food selection, if a little pricey, super friendly and helpful staff.

I have previously left a review in regards to the Tesco express. When I use the main supermarket which is usually the cattle market, I have never had any trouble. Staff are informative and helpful. The atmosphere is pleasant and the shop is clean and tide. Happy days.

As a loyal Tesco customer who spends thousands of pounds annually at its supermarkets and utilizes additional services like Tesco Phone, I recently encountered a disappointing experience. When I approached Alice, who was stationed at the customer service desk, requesting to exchange a £10 note, she declined and appeared uninterested in assisting me or finding a solution. In my own profession, prioritizing customer needs is paramount, as they are the backbone of any successful business. ALICE's failure to accommodate a simple customer request and her apparent lack of initiative or willingness to assist, especially while customers waited and she engaged in conversation with colleagues, was highly disappointing and concerning. Such behavior raises questions about her suitability for the role and reflects poorly on Tesco's commitment to customer satisfaction.

Great Store and Excellent friendly Cafe Staff. Toilets a complete let down for the size of store, Need updating badly.

Great service by Dale customer services desk. Always helpful and kind. She presented our charity with good prizes for our Xmas raffle. She is good with customers always helpful, empathetic and with a ready smile. Always willing to sort things out. She is a great asset to Tescos.

It's not my own, it's my father, who has been a customer of Tesco for the last ten years and has home delivery these days, where he spends at least £5000 a year with them. He had a new driver the other day, who instantly when my father answered the door, started berating him on getting lost and that it was my father's problem that he got lost, and he should do something about it. My father told him, it wasn't his fault and the other drivers have never had a problem. To which, this driver stopped my father and insisted it was his fault that the driver got lost. This confrontation had already put a sour mood between the two of them. My father does move from different properties and has deliveries to each of them, when he is staying there. While in Stoke, he had a delivery and the driver left two of the baskets with my father, as he regularly has deliveries and they could collect them next visit. Due to my father leaving the address with the groceries he had ordered, he took the baskets, with the intention of giving them back next time he was in Stoke. The said driver on the latest delivery, saw these baskets, which were marked Stoke. The driver spotted said baskets and started raising his voice at my father, telling him to hand over the baskets as his manager wants all their baskets accounted for and my father had to hand them over to him. My father explained and showed the driver they were from another branch. Proceeding into my father's lodging's, he took the baskets my father and left, while shouting at my father that they were Tesco property (which they were) and he was taking them. My father couldn't believe the attitude of the driver and was very annoyed, but let it go. He was having a bad day and excused the driver as having one too, as he had already got lost coming there. Tonight, my father was due a delivery. Nothing had been said of this for the last four-five days. Near the time my father's order was due, he received a phone call. Tesco were refusing to make the delivery and were no longer going to deliver his groceries in the future. They didn't ask for his side of the story. Just berated him down the phone, saying their driver returned to the store 'shaking' and had to be consoled. He has been having deliveries for years. He's never had a problem. Never made complaint or received one from the drivers. One instance and they cancelled his deliveries for the future. I understand supporting your colleagues, but they should've at least heard his side of what happened. Where was the customer service?

Rude little security gaurd can't speak a word of English either

I just bought the undergarments, eventually pick the wrong one and went for the exchange just after few minutes. They didn’t accept to exchange it. I didn’t even opened it and just bought a minute ago. Very very worst customer service ever had.

Toilets at tesco St Oswaldtwistle are in a disgusting state today

Disappointed- Pharmacy has reduced its early morning start time- As a night worker it's essential to have access to a pharmacists so I'll have to go to a delivery service even though I have a regular prescription sent here, and texts telling me its ready, but no mention of ' hey we've changed our hours' 2nd thing I needed on this visit was postage stamps. Ah, sorry sir, you can’t buy those until 8am when the kiosk opens..... So I went elsewhere and the prescriptions are now going to another pharmacy. So long Tesco.....

Massive Tesco with a petrol station on the side. Closes at 4pm on a Sunday which is quite strange

I come shopping on Friday morning each week for shopping then i have a breakfast and enjoy the breakfast but do find the service a bit erratic at times last Friday had to wait ages for breakfast to come but another time you get come very quickly

I've just been to tesco in St Oswalds Road, Gloucester, filled my trolley, queued for 10 minutes as only 2 tills open & when I got to the checkout, they closed it ! There were more people queueing behind me & I just left my trolley & went home. I'm getting fed up with the lack of tills open in there & they never seem to have my favourite bread any more. I'll be shopping elsewhere from now on !!!

Visited this store a week ago when there was an offer on Coors beer, however at the checkout the offer was not applied. As i dont live locally to Gloucester it is not easy to get to the store, but visited today. I was told the offer has now changed as of yesterday and would have to consult a supervisor- this is where the this store fails. The rude and abnoxious individual greeted me as the beer customer,. She then told me that they couldn't do anything for me as I bought it over a week ago. Turned on her heels and walked off. I am absolutely disgusted with the attitude of an apparent Manager and will never visit this store again !! Tesco you need to do better with customer service and staff , manager training .

This store has serious issues with stock rotation and that needs to be addressed. I’ve bought food produce from here for years but I'm getting increasingly annoyed of constantly having to check the use by dates due to the fear of buying out of date products. I visited the store yesterday and for once, forgot to check the date on a yoghurt... got home, unpacked the shopping and noticed that yet again the one thing I didn’t check was already out of date when I bought it. If you buy food from this store please check the ‘use by date’ hasn’t expired (especially if your buying food produce for young children) because this has now happened to me on several occasions and I'm sick and tired of it.

Till and floor staff go above and beyond to make every shopping experience as good as possible. Security however seem to love to follow me round intimidating me and other single women.

Great selection and prices. Atmosphere is usually good, but tonight employees were rude n grumpy before closing. Grumpy is understandable, but resentful and rude wasn't right. Saw an employee shaking his head to another about a person needing to use the loo. Not the right attitude.

Just popped in for a few bits. Helpful staff. Found a lovely young man putting stock away, I was looking for qwickjel. I asked him to tell me as I didn't want to disturb him, but he insisted & it wasn't to mu h trouble. I wish I'd asked his name now. He was very kind & helpful.

Tesco don't help me save pennies

Forgot my mask, security at the door could hardly speak English and insisted that I buy an entire pack of masks. To think that a company like Tesco cannot provide disposable mask’s or at least sell individuals, is ridiculous. Security rood and unhelpful. Very simple for me, will just pop over the road to Lidl in the future.

Easy to find and park outside, shelves are always well stocked and things are easy to find in store. There are public toilets and a good cafe on site as well as a small pharmacy

Beware I was sent a fine for spending more than 2hrs in the car park. I live in the forest so not worth going unless I do a massive shop. I've been a loyal customer for 30+ years but will be shopping elsewhere clearly the massive amounts of money I normally spend there aren't enough.

The store cannot provider a customer with a mask, and will not provide a mask. Instead they expect those customers to shop WITHOUT masks during a pandemic. The security working on 6/3/21 clearly has trouble understanding English and refused masks to customers! As for the manager, very rude, unprofessional and in general an absolute wet flannel

Today about 4om, too many people in the shop absolutely no chance of social distancing. The numbers in SW are rising faster than any other area easy to see why.

I went to Tesco this afternoon Saturday 31st October to find the store very busy. I suspect like me people were anticipating the national lockdown. Most people were wearing face coverings and trying to adhere to the 2 metre distancing however I was very surprised to see a very tall young man walking around the store without a covering and not being challenged by security or staff. I did see a member of the public who was insensed by this individual and challenged the security guard as to why this person had not been made to wear a mask. I too wish to ask why this was not the case. I feel that standards in this store have gone down regarding santitising . The bin where customers put the used tissues was full and over flowing and there was only 2 bottles of sanitiser and spray in the foyer and most people were just walking past. I was very pleased by the way Tesco dealt with the situation at the beginning of the pandemic but I am very disappointed at what I saw today. I hope this will improve in the weeks to come as once agin we go into lockdown. Mrs P Henry

Very clean, tidy, presentable always. Nothing is too much trouble when you require assistance of the staff. The staff are polite, friendly, helpful and caring. Will always shop at Gloucester Tescos, St. Oswalds Retail Park.

Way to many people in the shop only got 3 no one keeping apart so went somewhere else to do my shopping .things like card machine was not cleaned down after someone use it .so lucky I have things in my car in clean my hands after .so will not be coming bk to the Tesco again .

The staff at this cafe always make us feel very welcome. The coffee is really excellent - better than most other supermarket cafe's coffee. The tables are cleared and cleaned quickly which is important particularly with the virus. Hygiene is good and the staff are regularly seen cleaning the equipment, tables and seats. The food is basic but well cooked - no fatty breakfasts!!

I was at work and had to be called home to watch my son as my partner was not aloud to shop with our 1 year old boy. She asked, "what am I supposed to do, leave him at home" to which they responded, "it's not our problem". So a warning for future shoppers. You must leave your babys at home. This store will not accomodate single parents or parents where their other half is key workers.

Covid 19 seems to have gone out the window in this store, No social distancing enforced, no sanitary hand held available ( all empty) Some staff members extremly rude.

Me and my husband went to tescos tonight only to be told that one of us could go in I said why was that the person said one per house houd was aloud in so I went in then I saw there was a couple of people to getter so I came back out and given this person a month full how come they was in there and not my husband so we are not going to shop there anymore your lost tescos

I ordered an omelette and baked beans, well it was laughable, not only did it look unedible, it was stone cold, when I told a member of staff she was very defensive with her attitude and took it away, only to return with the same omelette and baked beans but nuked this time. Absolutely vile.Bought in pre-prepared omelette and over cooked baked beans 🤮

A very large store, with nearly all Tesco departments. The store is often very busy, but the car park is large and conveniently located.

Fairly souless place with staff struggling to keep up, even in a cafe that had no more than 10 people (5 tables) in it. Also apparently they ran out of bread rolls - this in a supermarket that had their own onsite bakery.... and it took a age to get a bacon roll (now relagated to a sandwich.

Good range of food, plenty of parking and garage on site.

I went into the cafe today and found it difficult to find a clean table .Most of the tables were full of other people's dirty dishes with concealed food in the plates ,quite disgusting .I don't know why when the staff take the customers order to their table they can't clear some tables .It has put me off eating there.It is always like this .

A good place to do the weekly shop for average groceries. Shelves normally fairly well stocked and they have what you need. Some more unusual items or full ranges for clothes etc they won't have or will be hard to find, for that I'd go to a bigger superstore or shop online. Staff and cashiers normally prompt and helpful. Knocked a star off because the cafe is pretty poor. The selection of food is limited, and service at the till is very slow. Hygiene also leaves a lot to be desired. Can also be very frustrating if you need to use child parking, and people who clearly don't have children/baby seats park in the designated bays! Not sure what Tesco can do about it, but in case management is reading this, worth looking into.

I visited this Tesco store to do my weekly shop on the evening of Friday 28th June. Whilst shopping the Fire Alarm went off to which all staff members made sure they got themselves out of the building speedy, but left customers wondering what was going on and not one staff member asked us to leave the store, so we took it upon ourselves to evacuate the building. Thankfully it was only a practice alarm which we found out after. Then a product I was after was not on the shelf so I asked the closest staff member if they could have a look out the back for me to see if there was any out there to which he replied no we haven't got any without even checking and I asked him again are you sure you haven't got any & his reply was, no I didn't see any as I walked through the warehouse which I didn't find very helpful at all. The only plus side of my shopping trip was the gentleman on the scan as you shop was very helpful & friendly.

Good store but sometimes they don’t have doughnuts in stock which is very annoying

Their pharmacy have no equipment!!! I went to ask to be checked by their specialist and when i explained to them i need to be seen by their team for my tonsillitis and prescribe me with antibiotics they turned around and said they don't have the equipment. What sort of equipment do you need, really? I don't have my eyes checked! A torch light and a flat stick are enough for an experienced pharmacist/doctor to come to a conclusion. Probably Tescos has neglected their pharmacists and their ...equipment. And i thought i was doing a good deed avoiding the pressure on the GPs that already have at the NHS!

Really love coming for a tea & cake or lunch before shopping. Have got to know the staff who are always kind and friendly. Food excellent and great value.
