Tawa Indian kitchen & Restaurant & Grill in Southampton

To be clear. I have not been, BUT, I did try. Online reservation via mobile, IMPOSSIBLE, just received a "cannot identify restaurant...", error message. This is once your on restaurant's own website. Frustrated but not to be deterred I reverted to laptop. Now when picking a date, no error message, but you can only book 3 days in advance. As this was for an important date one week out, I thought "keep it simple", email them. Sadly not, "Your message couldn't be delivered" is the only response. I have no idea what the food is like, but given the difficulty in making a reservation I suspect I will never find out.

Fantastic food and never experienced customer service like this before. All staff were so nice, smiling all the time and super firendly. Very impressed

So I wasn’t going to try this as it looked very modern and in a student area I wasn’t sure if i was iOS get authentic Indian cuisine but wow now I’m a regular and eat here minimum twice a month. The lads are super friendly, helpful and customer focused. The food is exceptional and tasty, I have ordered for delivery direct and via other sites and it’s always been tasty and fast and more importantly authentic. Just eat got my order wrong once, I called them and it was rectified immediately. Can’t recommend this enough and writing this is now making me hungry. I love they do deals that include nann bread or rice too especially if ordering for one you don’t want to spend loads of money for too much food. The masala chips are also our favourite.

I went on a Tuesday when they only did takeaways that day. So I ordered a grill and nans. Portions were massive and food really tasty. Well worth a visit

Never had a bad meal at Tawa, the staff are so lovely and really friendly and the food is really tasty. Highly recommend this restaurant, the chicken pakoras are my favourite and the curries are fantastic.

Ordered a take away For my family through them directly, we ordered x2 chicken tikka masalas and x1 korma , the food was bog standard and only warm it was also very tasteless and watery rang up to complain only to be told they would only offer us a discount if we decided to come again in this case we did not want to come again and wanted them To send us a replacement meal or even refund us for one meal but we was told no this wasn’t possible and we would have to pay again ! We was then told after wanting to speak to a manager that they were not there and away somewhere ,which on a busy Saturday night does not make any sense to me , instead of resolving the problem they told us to call back another time disgusting ! And a waste of 40.00 will never go back to a place that doesn’t resolve there issues ! Disgusting customer service skills and no idea how they have a 5 star rating !HAD THEY ADDRESSED THIS ISSUE ON THE NIGHT I WOULD NOT NEED TO DO THIS VERY POOR 🙁

My friends, family and I had heard good things about here and decided to get an Indian for my birthday. There was 6 of us. Every single one of us was disappointed, disgusted and still hungry as the food was inedible. Three chicken tikka masalas were ordered. All of which were extremely watery, tasteless and inedible. We also ordered 2 chicken kormas which was bland and extremely grainy. A chilli paneer was also ordered, of which there was only 3 small pieces of paneer within it. All the food we ordered was also cold when it arrived. The chips were also cold and very hard, as was the rice. My sister rang up to complain about it as it was inedible and between us all we spent almost £70. They refused to resolve any issues after explaining the disgusting food we had received. All they offered was a 20% discount if we were to reorder, which we did not want to pay more money for food that was disgusting. They were also extremely rude on the phone and hung up both times we spoke to them. Absolutely shocking customer service. All in all, we are £70 out of pocket and still hungry as the food was inedible and Tawa refused to resolve this issue. Extremely disappointed. I would not recommend ordering from here and will not be again.

So we ordered a take away for six for my sisters birthday. The order included popadoms, pickles trays, 1 chilli paneer, 2 chicken kormas, 3 chicken tikka masala, 2 pilau rice and a nan. To start with parts of the pickle tray were missing. We called the restaurant to address this. They said that it only included 2 items, lime pickle and salad. The food itself was cold. The masala were watery and flooded the plate. The kormas were grainy and tasteless. I called the restaurant to address this. They passed me onto a manager. The manager said as part of policy they do not offer refunds or replacements. They did say to resolve the issue we could order new food with a 20% discount. I pointed out that we would not be paying for anymore food. I also asked to be directed to their policy. They stayed there was nothing in writing but it was a verbal policy. They then hung up. I called back and asked to speak to the manager again and they told me there was no manager on this evening. Even though I had just spoken to one. Again, I raised the issue and was told to order new food. Disgusting service, disgusting food. £70 worth of food down the drain.

Visited here on my birthday. 11 in total and we were pleasently suprised with the quality of food and the service. Great value for money and will be back 👍🏻

We came for a midweek family meal and we couldn’t fault the food! Good portions and Everything came out hot and fresh. The waiter baz was amazing and couldn’t of done more. Definitely will be heading back soon!

Great Indian cusuine in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. My wife and I dropped in for the first time not really knowing what to expect but we were blown away by the hospitality and the authentic Indian food which looked and smelt as good as it tasted. I'd throughly recommend one of the set Tawa meals for £26 which came served altogether on a big sizzling skillet and serves two! Great value. They also have a comprehensive menu including all of the usual favourites. Staff were incredibly welcoming, a special mention to AL for taking the time to speak to us later on in the evening sharing some stories and dazzling us with his coffee making skills........ Note that it's a traditional Indian restaurant so they don't serve alcohol but you're welcome to bring your own (there's a Tesco express a couple of doors down which is handy). We had a great night and enjoyed the Tawa experience and we'll definitely be back soon.

Had heard good things about Tawa. FinLly got round to having a take away and it was great. Really really tasty. Will definitely be ordering from them again.

Had another’s takeaway from Tawa - fantastic food cannot fault it. Consistently excellent!! Generous chicken portions, rice and naan very tasty. Look forward to the next takeaway and looking forward to trying the restaurant!

Discovered this little gem after going to Loughborough Fair on a Saturday night and looking for somewhere to eat nearby. Our preference is always Indian and we don’t often find restaurants that live up to our local options. No other diners at the time we visited so the host was very attentive and the food was very quick. Quality of food was superb and portion size was spot on. The dining area is stylish and simple. I would only say the toilet facilities are undergoing some work but they were clean. Plan to visit again as we were very impressed. The fact that they don’t serve alcohol isn’t a problem at all.

Went with a friend last night and enjoyed a beautiful meal with a very friendly host serving us and chatting with us. I have never been before but will definitely go again thank you very much for a lovely evening.

Just had a takeaway including quite a lot of the vegetarian dishes and it was fantastic!! Everything was really different and soo flavoursome! We are in food heaven right now… and positively glowing from the perfect levels of spice and fresh chillies! Thanks guys :)

Wow! What an experience I had with TAWA! Sadly the restaurant is still closed and only doing take out, but their food does not take a hit in the slightest. Usually you can say “it’s nicer in the restaurant” but if this is their takeout...

As I went to the restaurant, the staff welcomed friendly, nice environment to eat. The restaurant is small but cosy. In terms of food, the restaurant provided papadoms and 4 different types of chutney and it was delicious 😋 . The platter food was amazing...

Well having tried most takeaways in Loughborough we decided to try Tawa Loughborough. And wow, what a great decision that was. Service was very efficient, the food was very stunning especially the chilli paneer and South Indian Garlic Cilli chicken. Quality Quality Quality.

Yet again another amazing meal, food delicious, excellent staff. Best place in town by far. I would definitely recommend the mixed grill, great flavours and a good variety of meats. Excellent
