Sanjha in Southampton

First time having a takeaway from here, excellent food, highly recommended. Will be back very soon for sure.

Food was very bland, returned my dish twice then gave up, my partners dish wasn't eaten chicken was tough. Bombay aloo was gross potatoes were off, and pompadoms were strange one mouth full crisp another mouth full soft.

Come here last night with the family Food was amazing Starters was so good The mains were lovely Good portion sizes And the staff were very friendly Waitresses and bar staff Definitely will be coming back Thank you for making our night very enjoyable

Awesome meal and superb service

I loved the service, food and decors. We went for set menu 2 , and it was awesome. Well- thought menu and generous portions, good value for money. Also, they have fast service even if the place was packed. They also have a beautiful interior decor. We will come back here.

Very disappointed in this meal. Poppadoms and chutneys Very basic Chicken Pakora was tough with little chicken Butter Chicken was tough and dry If all not a good meal. Would not recommend The lady doing service was very pleasant The internal wall decor (possibly intentional)was not nice at all. The meal was not expensive but all I wanted was good food

Worst service in Southampton Took 2 hours to deliver my order On contacting them the person who picked my call was so rude If you cant provide services and value customers money and time please shut down your business Not first but definitely my last order

The ambience, service and food was excellent Punjabi Indian style. However, during our visit there was a large group of women party happening which made the atmosphere ridiculously loud making our visit totally unpleasant. We visited at 8:30 PM after a long day and the staff were supportive, they gave us a different table still close to the loud group but better than the previous one staff tried different approaches to keep the noise levels low but couldn’t succeed. Would have got a takeaway if we are close, to avoid the loud atmosphere created by particular women group. Food was great and will visit again.

Great Indian restaurant, highly recommend.

Not too expensive. About 60 pounds for 4 people And all of us are full. I recommend garlic naan and aloo tikki

I've been here twice to have a meal, and in my experience the food was great, good quick service although the restaurant was very busy on both occasions. A. Busy restaurant is a good sign. The korma was nice and coconuty. Lots of flavour and choice on the menu. Would highly recommend.

Sanjha is the Pride of the street, food, ambience, service and quality is top notch. 1 of the finest take aways and dine in or catering services. We order, place catering orders and dine in regularly and quality or service hasnt dropped since over 15 years!

Very disappointed!!! After hearing a lot about it thought of giving it a try while we are in Southampton but been let down. To start with parking, they do not have an allotted parking space so it’s a big challenge finding parking in near by streets, you’ll be lucky if you get a spot (on street parking) in front of the restaurant. Ambience is nice but tables are set very closely so it gets very crowded and noisy too, menu is good and got mix of veg and non veg options. Coming to food, highly disappointed. For starters we ordered a veg platter, portion size was so small, samosa was very tiny and they only severed 1 paneer tikka, 1 onion bhaji, 1 cutlet and 2 pieces of some other bhaji - platter taste - average Coming to main course- ordered Shahi paneer and tandoori roti. To be honest, couldn’t figure out the taste of Shahi paneer it was just bland, tandoori roti was so thick and was not even close to actual tandoori roti - main course taste - below average Won’t be going back again.

Unfortunately the standard of veg and meat dishes have all seriously gone down hill over the years.

What a great Indian restaurant. The food is traditional and tasty. We were a party of 9 with children and the staff were caring and included the children when placing the food order.

Food is absolutely lovely, super flavoursome. I've ordered from other Indians before and haven't had a Tikka masala as tasty as this one. It was more than enough for one person, definitely ordering for here again!

Great delicious Indian food, with fair prices.

Went today has a family for lunch. Like all our previous visits and take aways we were really please we had the meat thali and our three young daughters had chips and poppadoms. All great quality and friendly service. Definitely going to return as a family and the occasional take away.

Just had meal with my guest in sanjha they came from London so took them there but my experience was terrible service was very bad the guy took my order was very rude didn’t gave proper answers to me and my guest and we ordered papodams and they never arrived and I ordered jug of mango lassi which came after we finished Mains and food was very bad in taste Never had this type of punjabi food before in my life.

Had an excellent meal here last night the staff were very corteous and polite!! Will definitely return again... thanks so much to Angelina - our waitress for the evening, she was amazing!!

Unfortunately I couldn't take the food photos... as all finished too quickly! 🤣 I deeply love this restaurant, despite it is not a big place... but it's really a little jewel in Shirley - Southampton, with its beautiful traditional furniture and such a warm welcome by the staff and the owner. Whatever you'll order from the menu, be prepared to taste the most delicious Indian food (from Punjab) in town 💗 my absolute favourite dish is butter chicken 💗 book your table and you won't regret it 💗 enjoy your marvellous experience at Sanjha 🥰

The absolute authenticity of a fine punjabi diner .

We have ordered takeaways and dined in here. I often come for a quick lunch during the workday once in a while. The staff is extremely helpful. Parking is available if you know where to go. Food is piping hot when served. Service is quick. I strongly recommend reserving a table for large groups. Cutlery is good. The ambience is well-planned to depict the culture and hospitality of Punjab. The wooden sit-out is great for lunch. There is a 'regular' menu and a smaller 'lunch' menu for afternoon meals. Dine-in is recommended over take-aways.

They served non veg kadhai chicken instead of kadhai paneer. We served dal makhani on our plates and naans with chicken. When I told them it’s chicken not paneer they didn’t offer any apology and took the chicken and our plates back.. and made us new kadhai paneer. When I told them that the dal makhani and naan we served on plate is also taken .. they didn’t care .. I had to force and explain that you took our dal makhani and naans because of you serving chicken. Then the guys made faces and brought the dal makhani and naan again.. while the paneer got cold. Worst ever experience. Not even offer any apology or refund not that it was needed but i think the ego and the fact that they don’t care about Indian customer. Only want to serve British customers. He didn’t even come back to us after that. We had to ask for water multiple times while he was attending other customers.

Five stars! This place absolutely deserves the top rating. I went in on Wednesday for their unlimited tandoori mixed grill, and at £20 it was an incredible deal. The food was amazing - everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the quality of the ingredients really shone through. But it wasn't just the food that impressed me. The service was also fantastic. The staff were attentive and friendly, always making sure our plates were full and checking in to see if we needed anything. Overall, a fantastic experience. I can't wait to go back and try more from their menu!

I can honestly say just had one of the best dinning experiences ever The level of service and quality of food was nothing short of exemplary. The food is amazing and of high quality. We were not rushed at all dispute being very busy making it a very enjoyable social evening for our party of 4. We shared a vegetable and meat starter platter which where both very good Mains were the 2x Lawrence Road de Tawa da Lamb, Chicken Korma, Yellow Daal, rice and Naans. Can highly recommend the Lamb dish so very flavourful and perfect level of spice Given some complementary dessert which was a nice touch Easily in top 3 curry restaurants in Southampton.

So I took my family to the restaurant for the first time to break my fast as it's Ramadan last week .. Boy was it good... Mix biriani, butter chicken was brilliant and my favourite salmon tikka is to die for. Service was great very attentive, I found another favourite place after a long time,

A fantastic traditional Indian! By far the best in Southampton. The set menus are absolutely amazing and great value for money. Wednesdays are by far the best the mixed grill is absolutely ridiculously good 😋. Vijay gave us an amazing service and we'll definitely be coming back

Once in a month we use to go there and in the evening we choose to do our dinner there. We were very pleased when we saw tasty Indian (Punjabi) food it was always delicious no complaints . The lady all the time who hoist us was very kind and respectful just because of her and tasty food we liked to go there . But last evening she was not there and there was a another lady she treated us in such a horrible way. We saw, that while attending other guests she was very humble but when she attended us on the time of starter, main course and at billing time she was very rude with us. It seemed like that she didn’t like us just because we were Punjabi and all that time we called her sister and talked in Punjabi it seems like that she was admiring us as illiterate and desi persons who directly landed their from india (village). when we said to her that the food is not that much good, as much as we ate all the last time and she answered us in very rude and in bossy words.I don’t want to mention her name she was there last evening (25th of March )she just spoiled our night with her arrogant and rude behavior. We liked that place very much we will continue to go there but if she will be there next time then we will leave that time. I don’t want that she can loose her job. But at least she needs to learn how to behave with the guests. When we left the place she was still looking at us in such bossy way . If she doesn’t like a simple Punjabi People you just need to put a board that, a simple and Punjabi People are not allowed here. It is my first time when I’m giving a my bad experience review on open platform. Because last day it was my daughter’s birthday and she ruined our evening with her behavior. Hopefully Respected Amar Randawa (owner) will do something about this.

Takeout, chole bhaturas were nice as well as the chicken tikka.

Food usually pretty good but unfortunately this time it was pretty awful. Ordered Lamb tikka masala and the lamb was so tough. Also the Aloo Gobhi Adraki was dried up and frankly the only way it could be described, is that it tasted "old" with barely any sauce. Very disappointing for our Saturday night takeaway.

Nice place. We feel Main course portion sizes were smaller for us. Food Taste was good , it was ok. We asked pampdi chat, we were served a dish which is referred as dahi Puri by us . For us Masala chole and pindi chole served with different names but with same food . We were expecting pindi chole something different. So it is good to ask the more questions to get clarified while ordering.

Ordered a takeout to be delivered on New Year’s Eve . It arrived hot and at the time requested. Food was excellent. Tasted great and plentiful. Price was affordable treat.

Went here for a work Christmas dinner. Superb food, served quickly and in good sized portions. Great flavours and well presented. Staff were attentive and helpful. Will go back with the family.

We’ve been using Sanjha for years now and have nearly always been happy with the delivery service and food quality. This order was again great. 5 minutes early than expected and taste was great. Also we had a few extra poppadoms than normal! Only downside was the food was warm rather than hot.

Order delivered on time, in a polite & friendly manner. Food itself was excellent, with pretty generous portions! Great all round 👍🏻

I've never been disappointed with the takeaway. It is always tasty. Confused by the bad experiences people report having by wait staff. I can't comment on how "authentic" it is, but I like it. Recently popped into pick up an order, and we were a few minutes early. They offered us a free drink whilst we waited, and were perfectly happy for us to wait making the place untidy! I've only eaten in once. And they were polite and attentive.

Ok, not brilliant but tasty enough. Waited nearly two hours for a 5 mile delivery, originally quoted with 45-55mins!

Had several deliveries from Sanjah and will not stop at that! All have arrived within 15/20 minutes, the staff have been friendly both on the phone and when delivering, and the food is always sublime! Thank you Sanjha!

Service was good Atmosphere was good Starters were okay 3/5 Main course: Pindi chole bhature 1/5 Malai kofta 2/5 In total felt like was ripped off with a 30 pound bill as could've gone to other indian restaurants and got far better food.

Had Sanjha Catering for 50 people at a Surprise 60th Birthday Party and from start to finish they were brilliant. Faz and his team made everything run smoothly and the food was amazing and plentiful. REcommend for any events.

Very disappointed that food was mediocre at best. Keema naan was very light on spicy lamb. Also as no separate sundries / rice menu we assumed rice came with curries we ordered (price point appeared to support this theory) but no, just curries. Very disappointing movie night. Luckily the movie was good though!

I always get my Tiger Prawn Madras from here, and we are frequent customers at the restaurant. My take away was pretty grim, watery sauce, greasy and no flavour ☹ I ordered 2 so I could have the other after work tomorrow, but not so keen now. Sorry

The best Indian restaurant run by Indians in the UK. Nalli-Nihari is must have. Updated on 16-Sep-23: now we are Vegan and weren’t expecting any Vegan food but surprisingly they have “great vegan selection” on their menu and understanding of Vegan dishes. They suggested us the Vegan Tava sabji and dal makhani and chat without yoghurt in it. That was amazing.

I was expecting a restaurant more in touch which it's Punjabi side but apart from the decorations inside, I did not find it to be anything special. The mango lassi did not taste good nor did the pindi chole. The food which is supposed to be punjabi did not taste it and was forced to be finished. The waitress who served us was lazy and had am attitude. She made us do her job by moving the plates to where they belong om the table and she would often just leave stuff wherever she found space. When she came to take our order, she starting leaning against the wall.

Meal for 1 is fantastic and great value. The portion of chicken I got seperatly was £1 less and compared to that seemed not a great deal. Plus the mango lassi was kind of small for £4.50

A bit underwhelming after looking forward to my visit, the Garlic chilli Chicken was a real disappointment, a lot of tomatoes but no depth to the flavour. Keema rice ordered and it came smelling off and had to be replaced. Staff were friendly and accommodating, decor was very nice.

We booked Sanjha to provide some food for a recent family wake and we were absolutely blown away by Amar and his team at every point. Responsive and sympathetic from the first phone call, reassuring throughout the planning stages and on the day they were prompt, respectful, easy to work with and the food was delicious. They really made the whole day a lot easier and we cannot thank them enough for their excellent service.
