My most favourite takeaway in Brighton! The only place that does most dishes vegetarian. We always look forward to Chinese night with Tasty!

This place is so poorly run ‘your order will be ready to collect in 60 mins. I arrive then it will be 5mins 40 mins later still no food. Avoid avoid avoid. So poor

Food came on time, so hot and fresh! This will be my new go to Chinese! Very polite whilst taking my order and delivery driver was nice too. Very good.

Every takeaway from here has been excellent, really good quality. I will continue to use and highly recommend.

It's a takeaway so atmosphere is a bit hard to judge! Food: it's bloody amazing, no nonsense decent Chinese takeaway. The delivery waiting times give you an idea of how good and loved this place is. Friday or Saturday night home Chinese takeaway treats don't get better!

Worse Chinese I've ever had in my life.I ordered bbq spare ribs & they came dry , over cooked and a pot of sauce that tasted like bistro gravy. Chow mein was so dry & cold , by the time, lady had put phone down on me twice re the ribs.i was being polite, respectful,with no raised voice. Had to ring 16 times to get a refund, even saying I'd only had 3 mouthfuls. The 1 & only POSITIVE thing was the delivery driver being so understanding, I had to wait 3 hrs to get my refund, And they wasn't even bothered about taking the uneaten food back. Which I could proove I'd not eaten, there DISGUSTING FOOD. SO EVERY GOOD REVIEW S ON HERE ARE , I IMAGINE FALSE . I say I imagine, so I am not slandering. I'm just being honest about how things were for me .so I advise. Choose another place!! Delivery driver, polite and seemed really nice and genuine. Only good thing.CONSIDER YOURSELF WARNED.

The delivery service was terrible I had to wait almost 2 hours for my food.I called a few times to check on the delivery to be told it’s in its way each time when obviously it wasn’t. And when it did finally arrived it was cold.

First the positive points, the salt & chilli ribs were fantastic as were the prawn crackers. The good thing about the pancake rolls was that they were almost grease free, however, flavourless. King prawn Szechuan & beef in black bean sauce looked really colourful & fresh & perfectly cooked, however, the sauces that accompanied them were weak, tasteless & very very bland. Sadly after a few mouthfuls about £25 of the £36 worth of food ended up as bin fodder. I note that there has only been one review made of this establishment since August 2020 & that most of the reviews were very good. Don’t be fooled by this our experience was very very poor, avoid at all costs.

Food took over 2 hours and the chap on the phone was obnoxious and rude.

Best Chinese in Brighton hands down! Food is amazing cannot fault it and use tasty regularly. Tonight was the first night they made a mistake with my order. I ordered two chicken chowmein, two special fried rice, chicken balls and chips. Instead they sent two egg fried rice, two special fried rice, chicken balls and chips. I dished up the egg fried rice believing they had just sent the wrong rice and wasn’t until I opened the other cartons that I realised they had sent only rice. Delivery driver returned very quickly to rectify the order and was very pleasant and apologetic but I was quite surprised I was asked to return the rice after waiting for order to be rectified and rest of food was cold. I explained the situation that I had dished up the egg fried rice first and would have to scrape back into cartons as was sitting on the plates to which delivery driver was ok with and was happy to wait. Just got me thinking did my mistaken order go to someone else? Was that the reason I was asked to return the rice? Had someone had my order and possibly dished up already and also had to scrape back into the carton? Kind of a put off. This review is based on a one off as said previously the food is amazing. Just if a mistake is made on your order ask them to resend the whole order on collection just to be safe.

The best, and I mean, the BEST take away I've encountered for years!...I ordered crispy beef..the cartoon had a pierced lid so the beef remained crisp...so important!....very tasty and delicately spiced...the prawns, with cashew nuts, were perfectly cooked..great taste and tender, so often prawns can be chewey...these were perfect....the quarter duck was good too and enough onion and cucumber...noodles and bean shoots were perfect too...gosh if they opened a restaurant and served that quality they'd be fully booked! I will definitely order again! JM

Very nice place, comfy seating area and the guy who served us was incredibly welcoming and kind. Me and my partner went there for dinner, we usually get a fair amount and other places it usually comes to £45-£50 but here it only come to £30, food came fairly quick but not too quick so could tell it had been cold fresh for our order not just grabbed from a tray, once we had taken it home and got it out the smell was amazing it so was the look of the food, this was definitely one of the best Chinese I've ever eaten and definitely the best I think I'll ever have for the price range.

Ordered here for the first time. Got to say I’m impressed! We ordered: Hors d'oeuvres Salt and chilli chips Crispy chilli beef Plain chow mien Lemon chicken Rice This fed 4 people comfortably, and arrived in 40 minutes. The picture doesn’t do it justice.

Always polite & helpful. Food delivered fast , hot & well packaged . Most importantly the food is absolutely banging. I highly recommend

We visited for lunch as we were in Brighton for a conference. The igloo experience is really cute and the weather was good which helped. The service was slow and we were waiting to be served for some time. It wasn't busy but we had limited time for lunch. The server missed my colleagues order so when our food came, she had to wait a further 10 minutes. I ordered the chicken ceasar salad. Which was very disappointing. The chicken was all skin and grissle I would not give it to my cat. There were small peices of radish and avocado, presentation was poor. I ended up leaving most of it, which was embarrassing for our hosts. The garlic bread was not restaurant standard and could have been purchased from the local convenience store earlier that day.

Always good food but often very busy but worth the wait

Managed to park right outside, and the fact that my order was in foil trays, card and paper bags, meant I wasn't adding to the scourge of plastic pollution (believe soups and sauces come in plastic, though)! Today I ordered a Vegetarian Chicken Chow Mein and it was perfect! The tofu was properly cooked and there was plenty of it in the dish. I had an amazing dinner! I can't wait to try something else from their menu :)

Lovely food, best takeaway we have had for a very long time only problem as most people are saying is the wait for delivery, almost 2 hours.

Tasty - I love you, but i have some feedback for you. Please start taking card. I know it costs commission, but you’ve just increased your prices (and reduced sizes of set meals). It would make it a lot easier to order over the phone. Please be more informative of how long the food will take. Every time I order I arrive on time or even 10 minutes after, and it’s always a 15 minute wait further in the shop. It would be great if you could label things as being vegan or not. I always ask if things are vegan, and the same people give me different answers each time; sometimes the veggie chicken balls are vegan, sometimes you say they’re not. Please label clearly what is or isn’t vegan, so I can know for sure. Please reconsider your fried rice dishes so that it’s actual fried rice, not boiled rice mixed with vegetables. The only way to get true fried rice is by ordering egg fried rice, the other types e.g mushroom fried rice are always more soggy, and aren’t fried really. Your new menu has increased prices on every dish. I still love it but I feel this increase is only valid if you improve on some things too. I love the majority of your food, and your wide range of vegan/veggie options, but i feel there is room for some improvements in the mentioned areas. Thank you for existing. I am a loyal customer and am just trying to give honest feedback.

Food is really nice but if you order from here, make sure you've ordered a hour and a half or two hours ahead as doesn't seem that they constrate on there delivery Customers and only focus on the collections, This has happened two times in a row. So if you have kids you may need to find somewhere that delivers quick

The name doesn't lie! Seriously good Chinese and I have been to a fair few! Really reasonably priced and good value for money but equally really lovely food. Lady who served me was super polite and friendly too, will definitely be using for our takeaways in the future!!

If you want Chinese food do NOT go anywhere else other than TASTY.... Its quite simply the BEST Chinese Takeaway in Brighton and Hove!!!

Its SO yummy but we have waited over 2 hours every time we have ordered but the food is always worth it! If it was delivered sooner then it would be much better! Make sure you order least 2.5hours before you want to eat!

The vegetarian spring rolls tasted like meat. When I opened them up there were small pieces of white meat in them. When I phoned the owner insisted that it was white cabbage. Although there was white cabbage in the spring rolls there was also small diced pieces of meat. Be careful ordering these if you are vegetarian or vegan.

£100+ order delivered quickly and every dish hot (we had a box full of trays!!). Even gave us some spicy chips gratis and I shall be purchasing these in the future - they were absolutely amazing. Chinese take away can be really hit and miss but this place will be our "go to" henceforth.

Have ordered Chinese from Tasty a number of times and would highly recommend! The food is great and very reasonably priced. They have a great selection of vegetarian dishes and the food always arrives within the advised time.

Was visiting Brighton and picked up a takeaway. Food was very simple, light (non greasy) and yet very tasty. The green thai curry blew my mind. Wish i lived next to the place!!!

Was given a recommendation by a friend of mine to try it out (anyone who knows me knows how fussy I am with food!!) Oh my God!!! It was amazing!!!! You can see that not only was it freshly cooked (alot of places cook in batches) but the ingredients were very fresh! I will definitely recommend it and make this my regular takeaway from now on. First time trying this place but was a regular when it was canton house before. Not sure if it’s same owners or a new team but the food was very good. All came fresh, hot and very tasty as the name suggests. Looking forward to trying more from the menu for sore

I have nothing negative to say about Tasty. I have been there several times now and the food is always really good. The ingredients are always really fresh.Portion size is good.When delivered it is always hot but not too hot that I can't tuck in straight away. I phone through my order and have never had any issues with this either, The person on the phone is always polite.Delivery person is always pleasant also.. I can not recommend Tasty enough

Excellent food, good portions and fresh. I got one of there meal deals for 1 person. Great to see a Chinese doing this option. It came with a Main Rice and a Side dish. The main dish packed a punch, so much so the pool of sriracha I put on the side was not needed. The lack of over cooked onions (Normally used in Chinese takeaways to pad out the carton) was great. Instead slivers of a verity of vegetables perfectly cooked not only made the dish look fantastic but tasted great as well (That included some onion but not in an over powering amount). The fried rice also tasted good and was fluffy and well separated (Rice cartoon was properly filled!). The mixed side which was an enjoyable addition to the other dishes.

Bad attitude over a misunderstanding, weeks ago. Get over it!! Also, found chicken in my vegan dish. No apology! Lost a valued customer. Joke!. Having money pushed in my hand because she took what I said the wrong way. Pathetic. Stressful just paying for some bloody food. Take my custom elsewhere.

Best Chinese takeaway for the area. Have ordered a takeaway from here quite a lot its since opening and never had a bad meal! So many good options. Duck is great and the salt and chilli squid is the best. Lovely family run busy. Always welcoming with a smile and they always remember you. Great asset to Fiveways. I hear they deliver too but we live so close it’s not a problem picking up.

More than £5 for a main dish and the container barely filled halfway.

We've had a chinese from Tasty every week since they opened. Lovely, friendly family run business who can't do enough and possibly the best chinese food I've eaten. The dishes seem more natural than other takeaways, less sugar and salt and at an incredibly reasonable price. All in all an utterly delicious experience that comes highly recommended. We have used ‘Tasty’ a few times now and we’ve never been disappointed. I am also a bit cross with “Alan’s” one star rating as that’s totally unfair as this could affect this wonderful takeaways business. Looking back on “Alan”s other reviews he does seem to like a moan!! Anyway. I have always found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. The menu is great with a few different things we hadn’t tried before. The children’s choices are also such good value. Food is always hot even when delivered to us in Patcham. Would highly recommend 👍🏼

Was told it will be half hour for collection got there it wasn’t ready wait 15 minutes more. So we waited no real apologies. Got it back home the rice was OVER COOKED and smelt burnt the squid was burnt in fact everything was over cooked. Not good.

We have eaten from Tasty several times now, and the food is a cut above all the other Chinese takeaways in the area. We've never had a problem with any dish, and the food has always been excellent in my opinion. The only downsides are that we have had to wait a bit longer than normal when collecting a few times (45 minutes plus, but that may have been teething problems for a newly opened business), and the dishes are slightly smaller than most of the lower quality takeaways. The fact that the other reviewer here gave Tasty a one star review is a bit ridiculous to me, as it is very obviously better than the local competition in my opinion, let alone down there with the very worst takeaways (and looking through his review history, Alan seems to have a habit of eating at the very worst places, in his opinion). Obviously chefs can't preemptively season each dish to fit each customers personal preference, but if Alan likes his food spicier than most, I'm sure he could have asked for extra chilies and peppers.

This place recently changed management (or name at least!). For years it was a Chinese take-away to avoid, and, unfortunately it still is.
