The staff is the most helpful and friendly I’ve ever seen. 🥺🫶🏻 Highly recommend Seasoned sweet chilli fried chicken and Spicy Soft Tofu Stew with pork served with steamed rice 🍲 It’s the most authentic and delicious Korean restaurant in Brighton.

We loved the experience of the raw BBQ meat being brought to the table by a lovely waitress who was delightfully polite and considerate, helping us Brits who are newbies to Korean food, to then cook it on the hot plate that was built into our table.

The restaurant's atmosphere is VERY good. The chairs are comfortable. Although at rush hour there are a lot of people, the food is still quick. The price is very reasonable and the waiter is very informative. Highly recommended!!

Extremely disappointing. Firstly, throughout the whole dining experience, I think staff spoke about 6 words to us. We were waved over to an empty table, given menus and left to our own devices until we flagged down somebody to take our order. We opted for the "authentic Korean BBQ" and I guess the meal in is authentically prepared in silence as the food was just placed in front of us, the grill was turned on, they placed the meat on to cook (while it was still cold) and just walked away. At no point did a single person offer instruction on how to prepare the food, we weren't informed of any allergens, wasn't asked the usual "is everything okay with your meal?" At one point somebody came over and fiddled with the grill settings before walking off...in silence! Then they had the audacity to add a service charge onto the bill!

I gave a review a few months ago, but I didn’t like it… I visited again recently but yeah there was no improvement in this restaurant. Food was okay (overpriced tho) but the service is SO BAD. Also apparently the owner deleted my review because I gave them 1 star cuz I wasn’t satisfied….. I think they trick customers with fake reviews. Don’t trust this restaurant !!!!!!!!!!!!

I visited this restaurant on the evening of April 6th. I don't recommend this restaurant as a Korean. The quality of the food is very poor. Rice and pork smell bad, and the amount is very small for the price, so I told the staff, but the staff didn't admit it, didn't check it, and didn't apologise to me. The restaurant is very noisy and distracting because the staff talks loudly. I left a review on this part, but this restaurant deleted my review from Google Maps. Save your time and money.

The food was absolutely fantastic and the staff is the most helpful I’ve ever seen. My friend left her umbrella (which is a very important personal item to her) at the restaurant and the stuff managed to find it and shipped it all the way across the country to Edinburgh. Best place in England.

Simply put, this KOGI restaurant offers some of the best Korean food in Brighton and perhaps the best value from their menu's pricing. Everything I've tried on the menu is delicious, and the ones that especially stand out from the Kimchi-jjigae, Korean fried chicken with spicy sauce and all of the offered jeon (pancake). Staff are professional, waitress and waiter are considerate. We dine here regularly and highly encourage everybody to!

It has quickly become my favourite Friday evening joint. Depending upon your spice tolerance, you can request the staff to amp up or down the flavors. My fav is the kimchi Ramen and the Korean Soju (a vodka like but better drink). It's a busy place so booking a place during the weekend maybe a good idea.

This seems like a really good restaurant. I went here with my wife and kids a few weeks ago, and the food was really good. I had grilled brisket, seafood and green onion pancakes, and kimchi stew, and the kimchi stew here was much more delicious than the one I had in Korea. When I asked the owner, he said that unlike other restaurants, no artificial seasonings are used here. I can really feel it in the taste. It was a truly satisfying meal. It seemed like a store where the owner was really passionate and worked very hard to promote Korean food. This is a place you can completely trust and eat.

When I was studying abroad, I met Chinese friends. Kogi Korean restaurant that I often go to! I went there a few years ago and haven't seen a woman in a long time. I stopped by again while traveling with a friend! The kindness of the owner who recognizes me I was impressed with the service. It still tastes the same and I eat it often. Dolsot rice and kimchi stew are acceptable. I admit that it tastes better than local Korean food. It reminds me of stir-fried pork again! My mouth is watering^^

Old and unchanging Korean food in the region As expected from a good restaurant, even after eating the food, I felt comfortable. It seems like an honest restaurant that rarely uses seasonings or other additives! As a bonus, I will keep the Korean owner’s friendly service as a good memory.🤗

Staying in a nearby hotel and wanted something different foe dinner.. Never tried Korean before. I had the Vegan fried chicken and a tofu rice dish, my husband had the pork and Korean fried chicken. Oh My Goodness it was delicious!! Lovely staff, good service and great food. I wish I lived closer but we will be back in the future!! Very, very good food.

While traveling, I visited with my teenage child who wanted to eat Korean food, and the kimchi udon and seasoned chicken were delicious! I went twice during my stay in Brighton!

Overall, the food was delicious, but as in other reviews below, it was absurd that the owner kept the service charge on his own rather than sharing it with the staff. The reason is that I gave it to him because the food was great and the staff service was good, but I didn't understand why the owner took it away. Now I understand why Koreans have a bad reputation...

While traveling in the UK, I wanted to eat Korean food, so I ate it unexpectedly and deliciously. I wasn't able to take pictures because of the schedule for my next travel destination, but the owner was very friendly and it tasted just like the food in Korea. ^^

Food is not worth for money. Also the workers seem too busy so wasn't easy to talk to them. Plus they charge service fees which apparently don’t even go to the employees at all when they work so hard during busy times!!

I had the most odd experience dining here, the food was as good as you’d expect, but the customer service was a bit weird. Asking us not to drink outside drinks is one thing but coming up to us 4/5 times throughout the meal is another... could actually be considered harassment at that point because what?! Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. I can personally say I will not be back there EVER.

It was great to be able to enjoy a variety of Korean dishes in the UK. I wanted to eat spicy Korean food while traveling in the UK, so I stopped by Brighton on my way to London and had a delicious meal. If you remember the spicy taste of Korea, it was nice to eat a variety of tteokbokki, crispy fries, and chicken with chicken. The chicken was really good. It's delicious

I had a mixed rice with vegetable and it was so good. You should be a bit careful as it was served in a heated pot. I definitely recommend it.

Great food good value a fun night

Our family visited this restaurant while enjoying our holiday in Brighton. I am Korean. But, this food is much more delicious than the one in Korea. If you want to feel real Korean food, you should visit this restaurant. It is awesome 👌

My boyfriend and I visited Kogi last night and it was one of the best meals we’ve had in Brighton so far. All of the dishes were flavourful, seasoned well and we had a lot of fun using the BBQ together. (The chicken was perfectly crunchy, the dumplings and black bean noodles were so comforting and our favourites of the night)! It was our first time having Korean food and our waiter Sam was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, attending and gave us some laughs throughout the meal. We’ll definitely be back

Nice Korean family restaurant. Everything I've tried was great. Would recommend Korean fried chicken, Sundubu-jjigae, Haemul pajeon and hot stone pot bibimbap. My kids who can't eat spicy food love soy sauce chicken, udon with fishcake and jabchae so much. Staffs are nice and friendly.

This was my first time trying Korean food so I was really excited. I ended up ordering some Korean fried chicken and bulgogi (stir fried beef). Let me tell you, the Korean fried chicken is to die for!!! The sweet soy sauce is just on another level! The bulgogi was also delicious and presented so beautifully. I really loved the sweetness of it. Overall my visit to Kogi was a great experience. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful (even though I had a lot of questions as it was my first time having Korean food). Loved the kpop music too. Great atmosphere!!

You can experience Korean foods. It tastes very similar to the food I ate in Korea. And the atmosphere about this place is so good to enjoy having a meal. I really want to recommend this restaurant to other people. come to this place and have a special experience.😆😆

Really nice korean restaurant. Quick service. Very nice ambience. I loooooooved all their items. Went on a weekend and it was busy. Portion was very nice and not too costly so I was really happy with that 🙃 Clean toilets. Overall really nice ✨💫 p.s. my favourites are kimchi jjigae and tteok-boki.. they are just 맛있어요

Perfecto food. Lovely atmosphere.

Food tasted alright but the portion sizes were very disappointing, at £40 for 5 small pieces of pork belly, menu said this was for 3 people. Kfc was even worst, menu said it would be pieces, but that ended up being wings and small strips of chicken, completely different to what I have seen at other Korean places. Lastly the owner/manager, kept coming to our table and stared directly at us throughout the meal, not saying anything to us. Overall alright food, but portion size for the prices was really disappointing.

Got the pork belly for two, first time @ a Korean bbq and really really good. (Loved the cook yourself experience very unique as a British person) Recommend getting the sweet chilli fried chicken and prawn dumplings!!!! Good service, welcoming staff and nice/cosy atmosphere :D

Food was not just fatty but gristle-y. Seemed very boring for the standards I expect for Korean BBQ. Food tasted boiled. The waiter seemed like he didn't want to be there. Needs to be painted and vacuumed. AVOID.

Always passed by Kogi whenever I’d be walking along London Road and decided to try it out! The Korean fried chickens were perfectly crispy, savory, and more ish! That soysauce chicken (on the left) was so addictive and needless to say I was drinking the sauce. Unfortunately the portion was very small for what it was worth, I was thinking that I’d be getting 6 wings instead got 2 wings and 1 wing cut into halves which was disappointing… Their japchae was good but wasn’t saucy enough and was such a small portion. The tteokbokki tasted so good with that stringy cheese and fish cakes! But it barely had any rice cakes or fish cakes in it! Wish there were more components. We also ordered the red bean fish shaped pastry which was so comforting! Loved the warmth sweetness coming from the red bean filling! This was the perfect way to end the meal! Overall I feel that the prices do not match the small portions given however our server was quite pleasant!

Visited like a month ago, I forgot to review!! The menu had many options, the food was delicious. We tried bulgogi bibimbap and it was so comforting, and served in the hot bowl as it should! And we also tried the mandu and the Korean Fried Chicken. The chicken was amazing!! The man serving was also really nice, in our receipt said his name was Lee if I remember correctly. Will definetely be back when we come back to Brighton!

I ordered A05 (for take-away) from the lunch special menu and it was very tasty! I’ll go back to try something else when I have a chance. Their lunch specials run from 12:00 - 14:30.

Spotted this restaurant while on a bus heading for Brighton Pride & hunted it out afterwards. It was busy because of Pride but we got a table easily. The restaurant is bigger than it looks from the outside. Turned out it's been there for 6 years but I'd never noticed it! It didn't disappoint - the food was delicious! We ordered all our usual favourites like Kim chi pancake, bulgogi, japchae, & all were spot on. The sweet chilli fried chicken deserves a special mention! Service was very prompt & attentive, prices weren't exhorbitante, we'll definitely be back!

On our trip to Brighton for the weekend, I booked at Kogi after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor. I'm a bit of a Korean fanatic and have only eaten at restaurants in London and Seoul. Only a small place a bit off the main seafront but worth the walk. Started with a plate of Korean chicken between the four of us. I died and went to heaven...! I love this stuff and would eat it everyday if I could. The chicken with the spicy sauce is the best. We followed with a main which again was very tasty. Being the pig I am, I just about finished this after over doing it with the chicken. I'll never learn.! If you haven't tried Korean food, be brave, its delicious. I was the youngest in our group and I'm 54. Kogi was better than the London restaurants.

Best korean in brighton! The staff were friendly and we enjoyed chatting to them. Service was incredibly fast and the food was incredible. They even helped us with the bbq bit as we were a bit intimidated. Highly recommend. Definitely get the cheesey tteokbokki!

한국 같은 서비스를 기대할 수 없다는 건 알지만... 삼겹살 먹으러 갔을 때 가격에 비해 양이 적었고, 김치찌개는 김치가 거의 없었어요. 2-3번 건져먹으면 끝나는 정도? 대신 고기는 넉넉하게 들어있었어요. 한국인보다 주로 외국인이 많이 가는 듯했습니다.

On my holiday to Brighton with friends, I booked in at Kogi for Saturday dinner. Having had a late lunch, I called the restaurant to push my booking back which they did. We however turned up at the original time and they more than gladly sat us down and made us feel welcome. When we arrived it was quite, but filled up very quickly. The menu was extensive and we were spoilt for choice. As a vegetarian it was great to see so many options, which is a rare when eating Korean food, but my meat eating friends also had so many options. Food was brought out quickly and was piping hot. There was a slight delay, but we did order a lot, and as we chose several sharing dishes we were never without food. It goes to show everything is cooked fresh. The Korean fried chicken was some of the best they have had! I had the bibimbap which is a staple go to for me, and I’d recommend it. My friend said the cheese topokki was also really good! Staff were lovely, helpful and polite. Thank you so much, we will be back!

The food is ok. I like Wagyo meats. However the rice and water served after we almost done eating the meat. So we couldn't finish the rice. We have asked for the water 3 times before it came to served.

Just been here for my birthday and had to come and review. Korean food is my favourite and these guys absolutely smashed it. Really authentic menu, loads kf options and they warn you on the menu if it's spicy (and if it says spicy, you'd best believe them!). We had pork dumplings, chicken dumplings, Korean fried chicken, tteokbokki, and bulgogi bibimbap. All were outstanding. The server was absolutely lovely and very attentive. Very smiley man. Will come back for sure!

I have been to KOGI to go previously on queen's road and it was delicious. 맛있는 I went to the restaurant and ordered food for takeaway. I had boneless chicken pieces in chili sauce and pork and kimchi fried rice with sparkling watermelon drink. Great service and amazing food. I need more of it 감사합니다

They say authentic korean kitchen but didn't serve ANY 반찬 (side dish). Really sad and disapointing. Service- OK Food- OK Price- expensive Overall a 3 or 2 out of 5 stars. I expected more.

Great service, the owner was really friendly and accommodated our large group of 13 service was quick and food came fast. Very fairly priced for the single dishes we ordered and was great.

Both my friend and I fell sick after eating in this restaurant. We experienced severe stomach discomfort, accompanied by diarrhoeas. I think someone should come and check the freshness and hygiene levels of the food at the restaurant. It’s putting everyone’s health in risk.

I recently visited this restaurant for Korean BBQ and was shocked to see an extra charge of £2 for lettuce (for 8 pieces)on my bill. What's worse, is that they didn't even bother to mention this charge on their menu, leaving me feeling scammed and taken advantage of. During my previous visit to this restaurant, I was not charged anything for the lettuce. It seems that the restaurant has changed its policies and added this sneaky fee to increase their profits. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
