I placed an order for delivery, which they accepted but as they use their own drivers can’t track. They were extremely unprofessional and inconsiderate as closed shop without cancelling my order or letting me know that they couldn’t for fill it. Had medication to take that was waiting to have with the food. Won’t be ordering from them again.

Being new to the area I was looking for an Indian restaurant to try and wasn’t sure what it was going to be like. To look at the restaurant certainly isn’t anything special but the food was gorgeous and I would definitely recommend to anyone and be going here again! Couldn’t fault a thing!

Sooo very oily, we had a chicken madras which came with an inch layer of oil on top and was smooth and very runny like it had been blitzed and came with nothing but chicken in there. Korma was okay and naans to, but all around disappointing.

Probably the best Indian takeaway I've ever had. Delivery time was incredibly quick, too - the estimated time on Just Eat said between 55 and 75 minutes, yet it was here within 30. I ordered a chicken madras and it was lovely. Great flavours and really tender chicken. Also ordered a cheese naan and it was stuffed with so much cheese, you definitely get your monies worth. I'd highly recommend ordering from Taste of India.

Hmmm…where to start. Awful experience, over two hours waiting, I rang them…no one answered…they do pick the phone up then drop it back to cut you off before having to answer it. I ordered at 6.19, food arrived over two hours later, I appreciate you may have been busy but am really disappointed that I had no communication from you despite the fact you my number and charged me…not good. Hopefully you are doing so well you won’t need our business again. Suits us! Gilly vance

We ordered from here last month for a treat and it was delicious! We ordered peshwari naan (wasn't super hot when it arrived but still warm and tasty) and a bunch of chicken curries and rice. The meat was cooked just right, the sauces were the real deal - not the runny liquid types you get from cheap takeaways and you get good amounts too. It would be nice if there was some discount available as it does add up, but thoroughly recommend, and we will be ordering again for a treat.

(23/05/20) Normally I love taste of India But today the guy on the other end of the phone was extremely rude! He rushed me through my order and hung up on me when I hadn't even finished talking to him, I then called back telling him I hadn't finished talking and wanted to ask a question which he continued to rush me through. I still put my order in and went to pick it up. On confronting him about rude he was on the phone, he then became defensive and aggressive telling me they were very busy, whilst aggressively walking around the restaurant, then proceeding to ask for my payment details without an acknowledgement or even an apology for his behaviour.

Just had the most disappointing Indian of my life. I thought I would give taste of India a try based on their just eat reviews - and how disappointing! Everything was red, including the onions bhaji, the pasanda was an aniseed mess with inly with 1 lamb chunk and the poppadom was clearly microwaved crud!

The restaurant really doesn't invite you in. I have never actually seen anyone eating there. The food though is great....most of the time. The fact that we continue as a family to order food from here is enough of a testament to the food. There seems to be the odd time where it just isn;t as good but to be fair, you get that at most places. They have forgotten the naan bread a couple of times which is annoying. There is no rush to get the naan bread to your door if it is forgotton. We have a wide range of taste in the family and so have tried a good selection of the meals. One of my favorites is the crumbed king prawn...though the size of the prawn can vary a lot each time. The prawn has spices mixed through the crumbing to give it a wonderful taste. The Tandoori is very flavoursome. I am very fond of the Naga and my wife prefers a cooler meal such as the Bhuna. The delivery is great and the food generally still quite hot. The menu has a good selection. If I was just rating it as a takeaway it would probably get a 4.5 but it does vary on the night and so a solid 4 is more appropriate. Don't go to the 'restaurant' to eat if you are expecting it to be dressed up and looking all indian. It is a few tables and chairs, not dressy, not much on the walls. Really boring. The food though is great. I rate it for the food and delivery. I hope you enjoy it as well.

Oh! Such an aweful food we have today....I have started writing review instead of eating. We have ordered several items...14 to be precise including chicken biriyini, matar paneer, tandor chicken, Bombay aloo, chicken tikka masala, chicken pakora, karahi lamb, madras chicken, chicken bhoona (complementary), kasmir veg, chicken masala, salad, chilli naan, keema naan, chips(fries), mango chutney,. Now let's begin with chicken biriyini neither it looked like biriyini not tasted like it. It was green and red coloured rice cooked and fried with vegetables(actually there was a big tomato😀) with few pieces of chicken hidden inside. Karahi lamb and chicken tandor booth looked and tasted almost,ALMOST the same! The only thing to differentiate was the chicken tandor was a big chunk and lamb was small pieces. Both were colourful, to be precise too red. We are terrified to see the colour! Matar paneer(is peas and cheddar cheese fried with onion and spices)looked ok but didn't taste well. Bombay aloo (is potato curry) looked fine with very big pieces of potatoes. While eating, it smell bad. The smell similar to boiled potatoes kept in fridge without electricity for two days and cooked. It was my first time from a restaurant/takeaway.😂 Chicken tikka masala, omg! I have never seen that RED chicken tikka masala. That red is of course not a natural colour. It is kind of extreme use of available food colour which should be used at a specific amount. Chicken pakora (it's kind of chicken rosti! ), Which is prepare with minced spiced chicken meat but here it is pieces of chicken dipped in batter and fried. Taste of India you are doing experiment with taste which is unexpected 😁, really bad. I liked madras chicken, it must be it, mildly spicy, cooked well and tasted nice went well with rice we prepared. It was almost tasted like Gurkha curry. Loved it. The entire ONE star is for this item. Chicken bhoona, as it was complementary, no comment this time. Hopefully we are not going to order again. That means chicken bhoona remains a mystery forever!😂😂 Veg kasmiri, it is a unique taste but we didn't like it. It was like a sweet curry made of fruits-banana, pineapple and others. Chicken masala full of spices almost floating in the sea of oil. Salad, no comments, they were just bits and pieces of all available vegetable in the kitchen wrapped in a plastic bag. Both naans(chili and keema)were burnt and soggy. Chilli naan was ok but keema(minced meat) looked like beetroot naan (you can imagine how colourful the minced meat was.) Chips aka fries. Well cooked but tasted stale while swallowing, that means I might have mouth ulcer right?😂😁 Mango chutney, its mango paste, sweet and sour. It's was ok. Now my observation: It may be considered Indian taste by locals here but for me been there tasted the food. So it's not authentic. Not at all. Indian foods particularly the curry used to be spicy and oily but not like the food we ordered. There is extensive use of food colour. It is food colour but I believe it is beyond the recommended limit. The lamb is so red that there was no colour of meat and in case of chicken the colour has marinated bone deep. The entire family said "no more food from taste of India". Most of the items were sweet instead of spicy, unexpected. I consider it as a strategy to attract less spices loving British taste. Possibly a business strategy. I didn't like the smell of potatoes, tasted stale. May be stored quiet a long time not in deep fridge. My recommendation: Please use less food colour eventhough it is food colour, too much of it has its negative impacts. It might look good at the restaurant but oil spilling from takeaway boxes looked gross. It's not gravey but the oil. Recommendations to you guys....just check the reviews....the stars really matter, people have contributed their time and experience. It really matters. Now if you really challene yourself for an adventure.Good luck, go ahead. Cheers.

I placed an order online via Hungry House for ASAP delivery to then receive confirmation that it would be approximately 1hr 30mins for delivery. I called the restaurant directly to see how I could cancel my order as I couldn't wait that long, to be told that they could not cancel orders and that I had to call Hungry House directly. I tried to call but the line was busy each time I called so I decided to wait for the food. I then called the restaurant just before my estimated delivery time to chase up my order to be told that they did not proceed with my order because they assumed I would cancel. The person I spoke to was very rude and would not let me get a word in edge ways, and after originally telling me that they could not cancel my order he just decided to not proceed with it.....which is the same as cancelling the order!! He continued to be rude which was very disappointing and infuriating, I would never dream of speaking to a customer in that manner! I would have accepted an apology for the misunderstanding on their end and waited longer for my delivery but after being spoken to like that, I will not be ordering from Taste of India again. It's a shame as I have ordered from here a few times previously and the food has always been lovely. Very unhappy customer!

Ordered a takeaway from here this evening. Firstly my partners chicken madras curry only had five small chunks of chicken, then we noticed the garlic naan was missing. I called to ask for the missing items to be rudely spoken to saying that there should only be five pieces of chicken per curry (which is ridiculous!) and that the missing naan would take an hour. I ordered a vegetable korma, pilau rice and vegetable samosa. Seemed fine to begin with, until I took a bite out of the vegetable samosa to notice there was meat inside! Obviously I was distraught after being a vegetarian for many years. I was horrified and called them up a second time to explain. The guy on the phone, kept interrupting saying that the naan will be sent soon. After finally getting him to listen he simply said "well today's the day you eat meat" and put the phone down. I could not believe it. So awful. Never thought I'd be traumatised from a takeaway! AVOID!

I ordered a take-out from this restaurant but when delivered my naan bread was missing; the delivery girl had taken the money already. I ran out (chased the car down the street) and explained the situation. She replied "I have to finish two other deliveries before I get back to tell the boss". Obviously we weren't going to wait for this to arrive and sacrifice the rest of our curry getting cold. I rang the restaurant and explained the situation, the manager Raj told me to claim my naan bread when I next ordered with them! I said that that was not acceptable and I expected to be brought my order or a refund. The manager very abruptly said "fine then" and hung up. Needless to say, I have not received a refund nor my naan bread. I cannot believe this business thinks it is ok to make the customer suffer for their ineptitude. I WILL be visiting the restaurant to claim my money back, but is this really how the customer-business relationship should work? If you can't get customer service right, don't work in the industry.

Four of us ordered takeaway of which one was happy, one was indifferent, and two were displeased. To their advantage, the portions and prices were reasonable. Otherwise, it was slow to deliver (but within the interval they said they'd deliver it), the food was either fairly tasteless or slightly unpleasant, and it lacked that lovely smell that you expect to be the one good thing of an Indian takeaway.

Raj used to be my favourite Indian restaurant and I used to eat there about once a week. The manager Zac is absolutely amazing and will do anything for his customers and does a great job. He is smart (shirt and tie) and always professional. However, after my last visit I will not be returning again. The owner of the restaurant seems to care very little about the reputation of his own business and is always there but wearing tatty jeans and clothes and I feel this does not give a good business image - why can't he make more of an effort like his manager Zac? Also on my last visit there were a couple of teenagers just hanging out in there (I think they are related to the owner). Would have no objection to this if they were not helping out by setting and clearing tables (no problem with this) but wearing jeans or joggers and hoodies and to complete the look beanie hats. Just looked a little unprofessional to me. Then to make things worse one of the young lads had a handful of cutlery as he was laying a table - openly coughed into his hands, while holding the cutlery - then proceeded to put the contaminated cutlery on the table, prior to customers being seated at the table. Like I said the Raj was my favourite but has really gone downhill the owner really needs to make the effort, raise the profile, create a better image. The food is great - but come on guys you can do much better and follow the professional image set by Zac the manager. Maybe buy some branded t-shirts or polo shirts with the name Raj on! Train the young people in basic hygiene and customer service if they are going to be in your restaurant. Sorry, but for the time being at least you have lost a loyal customer.
