Taste of India in Guildford

It took an hour and twenty minutes for the restaurant to call to say the cauliflower bhaji was out of stock. This was when the food was supposed to have already been delivered. When asked how long the order would now take I was told twenty minutes... 50 minutes later the food arrived and was cold. Wish we could say the taste was good but the food didn't taste of anything.

Don't mind about it being late because the meal is lovely thank you

Just ordered from here for 2 nanns, one keema and one peshawari. One was wrong and the other undercooked. This place has always been expensive but it's gone too far when you can't get two nanns right! Useless avoid.

Had a lamb biryani. Rice was oily, lamb was dry. Vegetable curry was ok. The shop was filthy and stank of cigarettes. Don’t recommend.

Naan was really hard so it is definitely not freshly cooked. Chicken curry and veg was fine.

It’ was over an hour late and cold and couldn’t heat it up so didn’t eat the rice and breads

Ordered a delivery from here , what a mistake !! Not even worth zero star and disgusting is a real understatement . Save your money and don’t order from here . King prawns where small than standard prawns/shrimps . A very strange flavour to all dishes , popadoms we not fresh and all broken like they had bag a bag up fromleft overs - one even has lip stick where the bite mark was!! Naan breads where not naan breads but very thin ja patties would never use again or recommend

Once it arrived, it was Luke warm which spoiled the dinner. So it was not enjoyable so will not order again ☹️

Restaurant quite curt and unhelpful

Would give zero stars if I could. Ordered via uber eats as there was a promo on and boy do I regret it. Food arrived over an hour late, one of the items was incorrect (chicken rather than king prawn which was £5 more). When I called to explain the issue they hung up on me twice, then hung up on my partner a further three times. Food was cold, naan chewy and inedible and curry tasted off - we didn't finish it. The frustration and rude treatment we received frankly ruined our evening. I should like to point out that at no point did i complain about the lateness and both of us were perfectly civil throughout. Easily the worst takeaway experience I've ever had.

Called restaurant when it was 20 minutes late was told be there in 10 minutes then the driver called 5 minutes later to say be 7 minutes that 7 minutes was 25 minutes food was cold and I'm pretty sure tandoori mix grill has a piece of tandoori chicken in it not onion bhaji

Cold, not much chicken, oily and watery sauce, delivered on time but a long wait to cook and very disappointed with the taste. Lacking in flavour. :(

We decided to order a takeaway because we’d been moving house all day and were too hungry and exhausted to shop for food and cook. We ordered with a delivery time of 19:55-20:15. At 20:20 I called the restaurant asking for an update, and they said they’re short on drivers and could I wait 10 minutes. At this point I was completely sympathetic to this and was ok to wait a little longer. 20 minutes later I called again and was told the driver was on his way. At 20:57 the food arrived and we had to reheat our entire meal because it was nearly cold, adding extra time to the wait. The food was nice enough, but by this point we’d probably have eaten anything!

Good curries and breads, always happy to order from here. Lime Pickle is small so you might want two!

It was an hour and 40 minutes late.

If you’re running to a tight time don’t bother ordering from here. Ordered food at 17:10 and it finally arrived after phoning as we’d been advised by Just Eat to enjoy our food, which we didn’t have. Restaurant said it would be another 15 mins, 45 mins later it finally arrived. Several dishes were cold, lamb tikka was chewy, only 1 mint sauce delivered and both naans were stone cold. You’d think after waiting for 2 hours and 20 mins and a phone call that they would’ve got it right. Shan’t ever use again, extremely disappointed! Restaurant didn’t seem particularly bothered when I phoned so I won’t bother with them either! Very dissatisfied.

Food cold, dry and flavourless All food really cold Food arrived 40 minutes after latest estimate. Biryani was like leftover Sunday lunch, potatoes cabbage and gravy, no spices, tasteless. Salad was iceberg with one slice of tomato and one slice of cucumber. Mint yoghurt pot was just 10ml. Chicken Tikka was so very dry and cold. Worse Indian meal we’ve ever had, in fact I couldn’t call it Indian food

The only issue I ever have is what to select, or stopping myself from buying to much. Always delicious food.

Worst take away food ever experienced. Arrived late. Took an impossibly long time to arrive after notification that the driver was on the way. The poppadoms were good but almost everything else was terrible. Chips stone cold on arrival. Dahl had lots of small, rock-hard inedible lumps of something inidentifiable. Curry sauce was very thin and bland, not worth eating. Veg Ceylon curry was mediocre at best.

Delivery squeezed in at the latest estimate. The food was cold, tasted like baby food and I wouldn’t want to say what it looked like. The lamb samosas were veggie. The lamb in the meals was hard and tough. Literally the worst Indian we’ve ever had. Deffo not worth the hour wait, threw half of it away - the other half had to be re-cooked to make it edible.

Spoke to the restaurant, I kept saying I’ll be there in five minutes five minutes

When we rung to ask where the food was, they said the delivery driver left “ages ago”. This was when it’s ☺️ was already 10 minutes after the latest arrival time. We waited another 15 minutes and rang back, given the restaurant is only 10 minute drive. Whilst on the phone asking if they could call the driver to get a bit more of an accurate time, the driver pulled up however the restaurant hung up saying they would call back with more information. The food was Delivered cold and no apology for being so late. We asked why if took so long and the driver said they were really busy and understaffed. The restaurant then phoned back to say the food would be another 10 minutes, and he had just confirmed this with the driver, and he was sending his manager to apologise. We questioned this as we had the food, and if they were that understaffed, why would a manager have time to make a delivery? The food was mediocre. Cold and watery curry. The salad was brown and the part of the lettuce that you’d normally throw away. The pickles has a rock in it and no pickle. Wouldn’t recommend.

If I could give it zero stars I would! I waited for three hours for my delivery! Apparently they were short staffed - not sure why they opened if they could not manage the workload and to leave a lot of customers disgruntled. I gave up waiting and when I was going to bed there was a knock at the door which ended up being my food. Avoid this place!

Great delivery and service. Just when we realised the restaurant had forgotten our Drink the driver came back with it. Brilliant. Can you describe food a bit more on the Just Eat menu though? . You have magic mushrooms on the menu and my fave is mushroom bhajee. I decided to try this dish but I couldn’t discern any mushroom in it!! Anyway as always the food was fantastic. Thank you.

We ordered from this restaurant and the experience was awful. Our order was an hour late to be delivered, our mixed platter for 2 turned up as just chicken, samosas were cold and the popadoms were stale. Absolutely terrible experience… we wouldn’t have minded the delay if we were kept informed and the food was worth the wait, which it most certainly wasn’t!

Authentic ingredients cooked to superior quality and meals very well packaged arrived speedily on time. Blown Away!

I ordered my food and got an email conformation at 18.14. I was told that it would be 40-55 mins delivery time, but after the order is put through it mysteriously was telling me it was going to take much longer than that and to expect it between 19.20-19.40. We didn't get the delivery until 20.15, and it was missing an order. Basically my children were crying with hunger by this time, and for one of them, it was past their bedtime! Awful experience. To make it worse, when we call the restaurant we get told a load of excuses and no actual apology.

I made a mistake with an order. But when I made the reorder they took over an hour. I think more effort should have been made for the delivery to arrive on the hour. I’m still waiting and it’s now 90 minutes. This is not acceptable in my opinion

Very poor service. We ordered a lamb bhuna and was sent a chicken bhuna instead. The restaurant did not advise they would change the order, my partner only realised once he had emptied the curry over his chips. We called the restaurant and advised them they had sent us chicken instead lamb, they said that they had no lamb left and were unpleasant to my partner. They then advised they did have lamb and would redeliver. We also asked for chips due to the mistake but they refused and said we could come and collect. The service and attitude was terrible and we will not order from here again due to this.

Only 1km away ! Took 1.5 hours from order to door....

Food was ok however customer service was horrendous, laughed at us when we rang to say the delivery driver was lost, when our food did arrive some was missing. We rang to complain, again they laughed but eventually said they would send the driver back with a refund (as by the time he came with the missing food the rest of dinner would be finished) however the driver and refund never arrived. Not impressed!

Never mind the time it was worth the wait! Needed to be just a little hotter but all round really good thank you.

WELL if THATS the taste of India !!!! My tandoori mixed grill consisted of 2 onion bhaji 2 meat samosas 3 pieces of chicken 3 pieces lamb i think !! 2 pieces of the smallest prawns which were hard and overcooked or been hanging about for a while absolutely appalling!!! should of come with a naan bread but gave me a chapatti which i hate i have had a lot of Indian food its my favorite JUST EAT SHOULD NOT HAVE THIS RESTARAUNT ON YOUR LIST THE WORST INDIAN EVER NEVER AGAIN !!!

Unfortunately the food was not great. Tikka masala was watery and no flavour. Not creamy flavoured. This was me trying to find a Indian as I just moved here but unfortunately I would not order here again. Shame as they have good reviews.

This is appaling. I have never been so disappointed in my life. They were 5 minutes late so I called the restaurant and the guy on the other side said he would call the driver and call me back. 10 minutes later, no food and no callback. I called again to my surprise the guy could now not understand me and I could not understand him and he kept putting the phone down. I got in my car 30 minutes later and then they showed up. There was no apology until I said I will be writing a review. I will never order from here again and to be honest, I want my money back. Thats how awful my experience was.

They left the vegetarian without their main dish, and portion sizes were laughable considering the price. As far as flavour, some was decent, some was decidedly meh.

Makoni was delicious, would definitely have it again especially that the chunks of chicken were tandoori and juicy. Samosas nicely spiced, a little spicy. Baji was great too however the other balls from the veg platter were tasteless. Very happy with the order and would recommend.

Food was not good, rice was not boiled properly, the lamb was not properly cooked, the quantity was very less compared to the price. Bad experience!

Food was okay if a bit lukewarm when it arrived, however they missed out two spicey poppadums that I had ordered.

Chips were stone cold and tasteless. Tarka Daal was not cooked properly (nothing like 100’s I’ve had before), rice was cold. Restaurant was only 2 miles away (Google maps shows 2 miles) so no excuse.

Well worth the extra ten minutes wait!! Food was amazing, i have just found my new favourite curry house! Highly recommend the butter chicken and saag paneer.

Cold and not worth the money. The seekh kebab small 2 pieces with nothing else and a fortune at £10.95. The naan also is small (size of a hand) and cold.The cheese was just tasteless and felt like plastic, absolutely no flavour in it so no point in paying extra for having cheese. Korma was okay and did have a good few pieces of meat.

It’s taken them over 3 hours to deliver my food and not only has my food arrived cold but they haven’t even given me the correct order. Called them and was advised a few of their staff are refusing to come into work due to it being Halloween. However they obviously don’t realise that they could of easily picked up the phone to advise me of the situation but no….. I had to make that phone call only to realise they are so short staffed and they haven’t even made my food!!!!!!! I’m sure someone else could of stepped up and done the delivery. I will never order from this place again and I would recommend no one orders from this place either because you’ll just get let down.

I would not feed this to my dogs. Absolutely horrendous. Onion bhaji? What a mushy mess this was. I had a bhuna for my main and there was more grease on it than a mechanic workshop floor. The order turned up 30 minutes late as well. Awful. Do not order from here.

Tastiest vindaloo ive tried for a long time! Rich and flavoursome. Perhaps id like it a little spicier but thats personal preference. Nice tender chicken tikka and decent saag aloo also. Far better than many of the other indian options in the area. Recommend!

Got the order wrong. Chapati was stale and hard, curry was bland and under cooked.

Ordered a delivery using them for the first time. It took over an hour to come. The baghees starter was dry which wasn't helped by the mint sauce it was supposed to come with being missing. The main was very bland, and that's from someone who doesn't like it too hot. Not the worst curry I've had but far from the best. Don't think I will use again.

Excellent food as always and accommodating delivery time especially because it was ordered half an hour before they closed and requested to be delivered half an hour after they closed as we would not have been back at the house in time otherwise. Delivery was on time and service impeccable.

Onion Bhaji are really really good. Naan not so much weirdly doughy yet tough and flavourless. The curries were good but nothing to write home about. Would order again though.

Food was ok, not the taste I expected. Delivery was before time which isn't bad, was starving.

I called to ask why my delivery was cancelled and instead of an apology for not being able to find me or contact me I was berated my a man on the other end of the line saying it was my fault all his deliveries were late and that I ruined his orders and seemed to suggest that I was an 'like an animal' and questioned my intelligence. did my best to remain calm but a horrible, awful, way to speak to a person over the phone, especially as last week they'd had no problems with delivering to the same location. Very very upsetting I would certainly hope I could get an apology from them but what's the point, I clearly won't order here again.

Amazing food! Best flavoured curries I’ve had in a long time from this area. Would recommend to anyone! Only down side was the naan bread was a tad stale, but other than that 10/10
