Retford is so lucky to have a place to eat as good as Taste. The staff are just lovely, nothing is too much trouble and they make you feel at home. The food is amazing, always perfectly cooked, presented beautifully and dietary requirements are catered for. Its our go to place to eat. Love it.

Wonderful little cafe with great menu, friendly staff and quirky decor. We had a delicious breakfast (Veggie full English and Poached Eggs on toast) and returned next day for lunch. So much to choose from and lots of veggie options. The facilities are brilliant too - lots of thought has gone into giving a special customer experience.

Been meaning to try this place for so long and very glad we finally did. Eggs cooked beautifully and salmon really nice too. Cake lovely and soft and just overall a lovely atmosphere. Staff very attentive and friendly, would happily go back and definitely recommend.

First visit to this cafe/restaurant and met with a vey warm welcome. Well presented clean table. Really pleasant staff and wide ranging menu. Fair prices excellent food and a definite to return to. Well worth a visit.

This is a fabulous quirky little place. We've had their ham, eggs and chips and full large English breakfast a couple of times, both times perfect. It's clear that they have repeat customers who are happy to wait for a table. How many places ask how you want both your eggs and tomatoes and even offer poached. Lovely thick fresh ham. When in Retford this lovely place will always be our first choice. Lovely friendly staff. The menu is quite large and always freshly prepared.

Visited today for brunch and what a lovely little cafe , eggs Royale were lovely and the coffee delicious. Will definitely be back

Wow - what a fantastic afternoon tea. One of the best I've had. The service was amazing and the owner stayed until we were ready to leave. It's a cosy cafe with some interesting photos and ornaments. Will certainly visit again.

Fabulous food, I really enjoyed the Buddha Bowl and a delicious mocha. Excellent quality and attentive service made our visit memorable. Will be returning very soon!

What a delightful little cafe with a very cosy and intimate ambiance. The staff are thoughtful and attentive and always willing to make recommendations. The menu is small but varied which helps to enhance the quality. Baking is extremely tasty and the coffee is probably the best in town. I’ve made this a regular in my repertoire.

While in Retford we found this nice little cafe Friendly staff, nice cake and coffee.we will go back, which says it all. we had to give the top marks like every else.a hidden gem.thankyou.

I love this place. The food is always freshly cooked, good portions and very reasonably priced. Whether it’s breakfast or lunch or just a fantastic coffee and amazing cake The staff are so lovely and friendly they make the visit even better.

I popped in for a takeaway vegan Buddha bowl. It was absolutely gorgeous. 10 minute wait and all fresh and delicious. Highly recommended and I noticed they have other vegan options available. It’s very clean, pretty and cosy inside too, I’ll eat in next time!

We visited Taste on Saturday, our second visit since lockdown, and it was as good as it always has been. The coffee was delicious, the breakfasts were fab (perfectly poached eggs!) and the service was as friendly and efficient as ever. The menu is very comprehensive and supplemented by a varied specials board. Lots of choice and really good options for veggies and vegans, as opposed to the lip service you get in some places. Great homemade cakes too if you have a sweet tooth, all temptingly displayed on the counter. The premise are only small and I was worried they might struggle post Covid and possibly not even reopen. If anything was to ever make us aware of the importance of supporting local businesses it should be this pandemic. So many people have seen their hard work and livelihoods go down the pan. Thankfully Taste isn’t one of them but please give them your support. After all, Costa and Greggs aren’t going to go belly up any time soon. Apart from anything else, the food is high quality and cooked and presented beautifully so pay them a visit, you won’t regret it!!!

I have often called in to Taste for morning coffee, breakfast or lunch and always found the food very good, reasonably priced served by friendly staff. Because of this, I asked if they would be able to accommodate some of my family and friends for afternoon tea for my 70th birthday. The owner, Sue, said she would be pleased to open up for us on a Sunday afternoon. She talked over with me, what she could offer and we duly turned up on the Sunday afternoon - the day after my birthday. Although the premises are quite small, Sue and her assistant, Andrea, had done us proud, setting the tables out very prettily with bunting. I had ordered a glass of prosecco for us all, and we sat down to enjoy a lovely tea. There was a delicious array of sandwiches, cakes, a tray of cold meats and olives and a seemingly endless supply of tea and coffee. I cannot rate Sue and her team highly enough. Nothing was too much trouble and everyone said how much they enjoyed it. Once again, it was very reasonably priced. Taste is open Tuesday to Saturday, well worth a visit and comes highly reccommended by me.

Small bistro / cafe large choice on menu to suit everyone yummy homemade food good coffee or a drink from the bar ,I have never had a bad meal staff and owner / chef always very friendly .cant fault it .

"Taste" is great! I have been several times and always had really good food, very nice coffee and great, friendly service. Food is very good - plenty of vegan and vegetarian options too. Highly recommended.

This cafe is my favourite place to have lunch in Retford and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. They have some really nice sandwiches and salads, do great looking breakfasts and fantastic cakes which I’m sure must be homemade, although I have never asked....

What a great little restaurant this is right in the centre of Retford. We’ve eaten here a few times now and the food is always consistently good. Its difficult finding any vegan food in Retford let alone good vegan food. They have burgers, chilli, spaghetti...
