Expensive for what you get on your plate!! Most bagels are around £9.They are homemade which is lovely and the fillings are good quality products but it literally comes just the bagel on a big plate, no garnish,nothing!! The bagel looks lost. The food is good but pricey. The coffee is excellent. Nice place as a treat

This was a Sunday morning brunch visit and our first time. We were made to feel extremely welcome by the Tappers team who provided excellent service with friendly staff, great food & pleasant atmosphere

We walked in as a party of 9 on a Sunday morning. The staff were so friendly and helpful rearranging the tables to fit us in. The food and drinks were perfect - especially the freshly baked bagels! The service was quick, friendly and helpful. The food is a bit different from the normal "Full English" type breakfast available elsewhere, but there is definitely a market for it as the place was busy. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Found Tappers by accident and will be back regularly for sure! Delicious food, happy staff and outdoor area for dogs. I had a gorgeous warm goats cheese salad with caramelised figs and a home made coleslaw. Lovely Moroccan Mint tea with it. Definitely a must come and see!

Went for a coffee with a friend here. It has a lovely fresh feel about it. The coffee was good. There were real flowers and candles on the tables. The service was great.

Had a lovely lunch here with family. We all had salads. Three of us had mushroom and garlic salad and one had Tuna. All nicely presented, decent size and very tasty. Sweet potato fries were the best I've ever tasted. So clean and bright as well. Will definitely return.

My friend and I always come here after college or on the weekend for something to eat! The best place for food in Southport town by far, sometimes come in to grab a green tea and do some work on my laptop. Working my way through the menu and the Very Berry Spritz is always a favourite. Service is amazing always, staff are lovely and very welcoming, no faults whatsoever. Come to Tapper's on a regular basis and has now become our 'regular' or 'go to' place when we're in town. Thank you to all the Tapper's team for making our visits the best of the best every time.

Amazing Experience.... popped in for a bite to eat and the homemade bagal that I chose along with the sweet potato fries were simply delicious. On holiday in the area, and visited based on the good Tripadvisor reviews. Really nice place for lunch, nice coffee and friendly staff. The NY pastrami bagel I had was delicious.

Food was absolutely delicious, as always, can't beat a homemade bagel! Everything is always to such a high standard and the service is really warm and attentive from all the lovely staff. My go-to when I'm in town.

Think should have closed if entertaining friends as they didn’t seem to give a monkey’s uncle about their customers. Arrived at cafe at just after 11 and sat outside. Given a lunch menu. No-one came outside for 15 minutes but the place was empty bar two tables and a few rowdy women sitting at a bar table. I went inside to ask for the brunch menu but told only served until 11:30?! Ordered food and drinks. It was ok but expected vine tomatoes to be roasted and not cherry tomatoes cut in two and warmed. The avocado was not seasoned and bland. Sourdough was not toasted enough so was soggy. Egg was missing. Pancakes had no flavour and small but blueberry sauce was good. Coffee very good. Had to go back inside to pay as owner was too busy entertaining her friends to notice anyone. Poor experience and not value for money. Much better places, more centrally located to eat.

Best brunch ever, all absolutely delicious and a really good pot of tea to go with it. The cafe is beautiful inside and scrupulously clean. And the staff are really lovely too.

Lovely cafe bar with inside & outside seating. Food was delicious, and mostly homemade. - even the bagels and jam! We had goats cheese salad, club bagel, dirty fries & cream scones. So good ! Coffee is also excellent, including decaf & oatmilk options. Nice to be able to have a beer/wine/spirit too, especially outside in the sunshine 😊 Friendly staff, super-clean environment. Second visit yesterday with my 11 year old. Really nice atmosphere & friendly, welcoming staff, we both had a freshly baked bagel - food was lovely. Sat in the window spot & watched the aeroplanes practicing along the sea front.

After reading the previous review I thought I'd take my Son & his Girlfriend to Tappers for lunch... I have to say that we all found the Bagels absolutely outstanding.... the desserts were to die for, we sampled 3 different choices, again outstanding.... the team at Tappers were so friendly, attentive and amazing.... all in all a fantastic lunch spent in an amazing ambience and reasonably priced for the quality of food and surroundings on offer....Well done, outstanding. Maybe the previous review possibly was a rival cafe/bistro owner who realises she comes nowhere near the level of food and service that Tappers Cafe offer (just a thought 🤔) Definitely return in a heart beat. A lovely setting, clean and well presented but the menu is at best very very limited and for what you get, overpriced. £8 for a jacket potato or filled Bagel, really ! Such little choice and bagels presented with a knife and fork? - Impossible to cut. Menu needs a rethink.

What a great find in Southport!! The food (local cheese bagel) was outstanding and great coffees - we happily sat with friends for 90 mins in the outdoor area enjoying our lunch - but the real difference apart from their amazing food was the team that served us - it was like being served by friends! We absolutely loved it and will be back at the first opportunity - this cafe is just what Southport needed! Thank you!

This a an excellent cafè that we accidently found today 400m from the flat. The homemade Spinach and Pine Nut soup and a hearty Sausage and Caramelised Onion sandwich was lovely. The staff are also lovely , I will be coming back.

Oh I love this cafe, in my home town!! It’s the perfect place to go for breakfast, lunch or coffee & cake, I often set up my laptop here on my own when I have work to do as the staff make you feel so welcome and are super attentive with the coffee refills!

We drove to Southport to visit this cafe after reading the positive reviews. My 96 year old mum and I had soup and cake (and coffee each) between us and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Service, food and ambiance were great.

I had a fabulous ladies late lunch last Saturday at Tappers - service is second to non and the food is lovely and fresh. All washed down with a glass of fizz. Perfect lunch to accompany a Saturday shopping trip!

Tapper's has been our go to breakfast and lunch time destination for the past four years...we've visited with family and friends over the years and received excellent service everytime from all the lovely friendly staff. Today we visited and had lunch and cake it was up to the usual high standard that you would expect from this independent café.

My go to place in Southport, great atmosphere and a friendly welcome every time I visit. Great Cheese and onion jacket potatoes and the homemade coleslaw is delicious! I also had a pecan star bar which went down well with a Hot Chocolate.

I know it's a bold claim but this hidden gem really does serve the best bacon, brie and chilli jam bagels! In fact I have been a few times and have always enjoyed the excellent food and service. Nearly every visit has seen me tempted by the glorious home made cakes, who can resist a caramac sponge! It's only a little off the beaten track but well worth the 100 yards from Lord street.

Bought a bacon and egg sandwich on granary bread this morning to take away. FReshly made and tasted fab. Egg cooked to perfection and loaded with bacon. Will definitely have to eat in one day. Great service.

Discovered this cafe by accident as it was on the same street as shop I was visiting. The food is really good. On my first visit I had home made soup and a sandwich. Both were very good. Very fresh and tasty and obviously home made. On a second visit a few days later ( I had to revisit the shop ) I was not disappointed. Same story.

The cafe is located just off lord street and is a credit to Southport. Serving fresh locally sourced food, freshly brewed coffee as well as signature coffees made by the fabulous waitresses. The fluffy pancakes are to die for as are the bagels. Could not fault this place and would 100% recommend to any locals that have yet to discover Tappers or for those visiting Southport...you won't be disappointed.

I was recommended Tapper's by a friend I work with, generally I tend to go into Liverpool to shop etc but my partner and I decided to stay local this weekend and headed into Southport and particularly made a bee line for Tappers. We were greeted with a lovely welcome by the staff and the cafe had a great little buzz about it! I noticed the cakes straight away (homemade millionaires shortbread..my fave!) so decided if I had a salad I would have room for cake afterwards. The waitress recommended the goats cheese, marinated fig and hazelnut salad with some extra bacon on top..oh my word..It was absolutely delicious, fresh, tasty and clean ;-) what a fantastic recommendation! I will definately be visiting again very soon and as it was recommended to me I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to you!!

I can't speak highly enough of this cafe. A visit to Southport just isn't the same without sampling some of their delights. A chocolate caramel shortbread was on the menu for me, simply delightful!

I visit Tappers at least once a week. Why? The answer is easy. The food is exceptional and the staff are so friendly and helpful. There is no where else in Southport that comes close. Tappers is tucked away you my think, but it's never empty. Why? Customers come and seek it out because the food and service is second to none. I wish I could relocate my office here!

Tapper's has a good range of food on offer. I have tried the pancakes and bacon sandwiches which are freshly prepared and taste great. The staff are very friendly making it a great place for a leisurely break.

My partner treated me to a night away in southport for my birthday.And on the morning of my birthday we needed a good breakfast in us to set us up for the day.Tapper's has excellent ratings on trip advisor and after this our first visit I can say it is well deserved. I had sausage and egg on toast and my partner had scrambled egg on toast. Not the most difficult of breakfasts granted, but it was superb. It was served in good time also.The inside of Tapper's is nice and relaxed though I am sure it gets busy in peak season. It is situated away from the seafront and a short walk off lord street ... but the short walk was worth it.Next time we are in Southport we will be back for a 2nd visit. Give this place ago ... you will not be disappointed.

Happened on this little gem on a walk into town with husband today and I literally can't wait to go back! It was a miserable, wet morning (that fine rain that soaks you through!!), but waking in here soon warmed us both up.We were greeted by two cheery "Hello's" and got a table in the window. Drinks were served promptly and with a lovely smile and then our menu choices were teased out of us. I had THE MOST DELICIOUS pumpkin soup with half a sandwich - egg - which wasn't your normal mashed up gloop, but a sliced egg with a slither of mayo and a touch of cress. The bread was fresh, seedy and thick - beautiful. My husband had sausage sandwich on the same fresh bread which came with coleslaw and a side salad. The sausages were thick, tasty and plentiful - the bread couldn't hold them all in!! The cafe is clean, welcoming and my new favourite "drop-in". Try it - you'll love it! I did.

I visited this lovely little cafe yesterday morning as my friend had recommended it for breakfast. I went along with my boyfriend and we both ordered a full breakfast which was amazing. I had a coffee which was perfect and my boyf had a Savse smoothie which he really enjoyed. We couldn't manage a piece of cake after breakfast so we came back around 3pm for cake and coffee. I couldn't fault the huge slice of lemon victoria sponge. Everyone should try it. Service, food and surroundings are super in this cool independent cafe.

The girls in here are fantastic, such a friendly atmosphere and the locally sourced product for the breakfast is a real treat, to add to that the very satisfying coffee (recommend the flat white), once you have been here you won't go anywhere else locally. Not had the lunches yet or tasted the cake which looks amazing, but I am sure that moment won't be too far off. As for the kids, the love the breakfast pan cakes, just can't go wrong.

My first visit to Tapper's was a most enjoyable one. The staff are warm, friendly, polite and experienced in customer service. Varied menu with good choice of vegetarian options. Good, fresh produce used (apart from chips) and a lovely atmosphere. The cakes are out of this world! Would definitely recommend to anyone. One tiny criticism though there isn't much that can be done about it, is that the table nearest to the kitchen hatch suffers with the kitchen/preparation noises. It would certainly not put me off going there again.

Visited the cafe last Saturday afternoon with my girlfriend, intending to only stay for a drink. A pit stop. However, when I saw some of the amazing food on the other tables we had to order some. And... I wasn't disappointed. I had a Catherine's club and my girlfriend had a bacon, Brie and chilli jam bagel. Both were sooooo tasty. We shared a portion of chips that were literally the nicest I've had in a long time!!! We followed up with a slice of brownie and a Reece's pieces cake! My GF had a Coke Cola (in a glass bottle no less) but was jealous of my Savse smoothie. The atmosphere was relaxed, homely and stylish. The service was attentive and friendly. I'd highly recommend you check out this amazing local gem. With fabulous food and service it really ticks all the boxes.

Moving to Southport in the Summer, so have visited a number of times recently to view properties. Stumbled upon this wonderful coffee shop on our first visit and it has become a favourite. We have now popped in every time we have visited Southport!Clean and well presented with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are lovely and the coffee is superb! We have tried a number of savoury dishes as well as cakes - all have been delicious. Prices are very reasonable too.Looking forward to many more visits in the future!

The food looked good but we didn't get any.We sat and waited, and waited and were totally ignored by the staff who all appeared to be busy serving a party on another table and were oblivious to our presence so we left. The cafe was about a third full so it was hardy overrun and even an quick "we'll be with you in a few moments" would have helped.I also noticed on the menu if you ask for milk for your Americano coffee they charge extra - come on that's just silly and for me makes it feel a bit, well cheapskate.

Have been numerous times and the breakfast never fails. We had the full English and it Was delicious. The American style pancakes my daughter had were also fantastic. The service was spot on as usual.
